Best mexican food everrr! The menudo is so good. Fast service, ambiance very traditional.

It's a little hole in the wall driving down the biggest Highway from Long Beach to Wilmington doesn't look like much but the food is amazing. I had a little issue though, but the server he overcharged me I don't know if he noticed or like he told me when I asked him, he said that he thought that we had ordered for Tacos each so he kind of charged me more than what was owed, but when I brought to his attention, he was very gracious. He apologize profusely I told him his food was delicious and then we would come back and if he needed the money, he could keep it. He apologized and gave me back the money. Anyways the food is good. The service was good. The ambience is kind of like a little hole in the wall so it's not that much to look At, but you won't be disappointed the food is excellent. I wish more people were in there than know that, but I love this place only for a little miss app, but the server my name was Pancho was very gracious, giving me back my money although we had a rocky start. Best bean and cheese burrito in the area. The cabeza tacos were hand made tortillas and tons of tender cabeza. At $2.25 a taco, this is the best authentic taco I've had in a while. Cash only is real. As I stand in front of counter ready to order I get completely ignored of hey see me and don't day anything is trod there for about 7-10 min and finally I decided they did not need my business. My favorite alpastor tacos! 10/10think they're now like 1.50 ea but I love these. They are greasy but the calor is there. It's not the most nice looking, the tables are all messed up and ugly looking the look is about a 5/10 it needs to be upgraded but I think their tacos are way better than the Taco loco. First off the place isn't very clean doesn't look organized and together just looks depressing and dirty. The service is whatever they take your order and you pay cash only they don't accept anything else. And OH MY GOD. Food looks so sloppy and nasty smells weird and super duper oily if you had normal tacos you know they wouldn't be soaked in oil, my tacos weren't good at all i hated them a lot. Quick update. Still love the food here but recently they have stopped taking phone orders which is a huge inconvenience. Sometime I just want to place a phone order and pick it up omw home from work but not anymore. If I want food from this place I have to go place an order, wait the 20-30min for my food. Sadly, this taqueria was pretty weak in my opinion. Came in for lunch, to grab a couple Carnitas tacos- (one of my go-to measurements of a taqueria's skill set) and it missed pretty badly. On a positive note, they warmed up the carnitas to order, but the larger downside was that they over-fried them so they came out like overly chewy pork pebbles on a Diana's tortilla. Almost inedible, in fact if I wasn't starving I would have left it uneaten on the table.The place was filthy, tables littered with food bits, I could go on, but suffice to say, they are not making much of an effort here. One cook and one cashier doing it all, was not enough. It took 15 minutes just to get 2 carnitas tacos. Whatever. There are better choices to be made when it comes to tacos. They did have Birria, which I did not try, but it seemed to be popular. Maybe I just ordered the wrong item? Everyone has a favorite neighborhood taqueria, but this one, will not be mine. read more

Another great local mexican food restaurant and it's not too far from my other review(taco loco #3). The restaurant is good but not fancy. Service is real quick and to the point. Food is good! Tacos & Torta de lengua, asada and carnitas are my favourites. They have the common Mex drinks :horchata, jamaica and tamarindo. They also got a jukebox, Tv and beer if you want to relax for a bit. As soon as I noticed the large signs in the interior I just knew I had to stop and try. Boy, did I choose right! I have been craving tortas and tripa for a while now, eating in the car is hard, but the flavor is worth the mess. Although the inside of the bread was over-fried to my liking but that's fine because I took it out and that means less carbs. Salsa is out of this world. Let's forget that it looks like a Tijuana gift shop threw up inside. Forget the sketchy parking lot (there must be an amputee support group in the neighborhood). Forget the fact that there's no proper menu or prices for anything. This is the best carne asada burrito I have ever had. I had to eat there 5 times just to make sure it was worthy of the 5 stars and it is. The carne asada is moist and tender. Best of all it's 4.50 otd for a burrito. Fantastic value. Their red sauce is so amazing you have to ask for it. The carnitas and pollo is delicious too, but the beef is where it's at. Not for novices. If Baja Fresh is your idea of Mexican, go there. This place is in a shady part of town but the tacos are totally worth it. My girlfriend loves this place and drags me out here every so often in the middle of the night. However I find the sanitation questionable and around the time the sun sets insane panhandlers make their way into the restaurant or sit on the outside. They are on different levels on insane: From yelling incoherent phrases in spanish to rapidly clapping their hands. I highly recommend this place during the daylight hours. read more

This place is a hidden gem, located in a sketchy parking lot occupied by street urchins, and peddlers. If you manage to park and get past the shady exterior and make your way inside you will soon realize this isn't a fancy restaurant it's more of a cozy hole in the wall. The menu is displayed on the wall where the menu is painted on. There is plenty of seating with a few vagrants inside (Pre-Covid days). They serve the usual mexican fare, tacos burritos enchiladas birria, and seafood. The Tortas are . The milanesa is breaded and fried to perfection. Once you take a bite you're greeted with a flavorful crunch that blends perfectly with the cold veggies, and cool avocado. Soft toasted bread melted cheese, and that delicious fire roasted red salsa to dress your Torta with each bite. The asada is flavorful, and the pastor is highly recommended. The pastor is grilled with onions and has the classic trompo flavor. Not like other spots that offer al pastor but the meat is cut into chunks and has little to no flavor. The ladies working here are really nice and phone orders are HIGHLY suggested, especially if you're in a rush or it's nighttime when law enforcement is out on the prowl looking to meet their quotas. This review is based on service almost 4yrs ago. I would come here almost every Friday with a co worker and eat there wet burritos. From I remember they were really good. This place is disgusting! We ordered two tortas de lomo, and two tacos. As soon as we came home and saw the food we notice the two tortas were ham not lomo, they were squished they almost looked as if sat on, lettuce was gross and tasted old so did tomato. One of the tortas had black tar on it as you can see on the pic. The tacos were super greasy and had very little meat. The bag was even dripping grease. Staff is rude. Don't spend your money here the food is disgusting I wouldn't even feed it to my dog. If I could give it negative 5 stars I would. read more

This is the classic hole-in-the-wall taqueria in an unappealing strip mall...totally authentic. Just tried for first time, and the asada tacos are muy excellente! They don't pack the taco with meat, which can be a good thing, and it is smothered in a nice red salsa for a slightly different take. I think La Mexicana has probably the best asada tacos, but this was a close second, and are different enough that it's worth it. Will return to try other things on menu, which include the usual burritos, sopas, but also caldos. Addendum....I went back a second time. This time, I didn't like the tacos quite as much as the first time and scaled back to 3 stars from 4 stars...but it's still on my taqueria list and I will go back to try other items.... read more

Legit. The carnitas are succulent and crispy, goes really great in burrito form. The tamarindo is tasty. Authentic Mexican food. The hot sauce is of the some of the hottest I've ever had in my life and I am a hot sauce freak. read more

First of all they had flies all over the place, I had to be constantly waving them off my food. I was also irritated by the fact that they had no AC in the restaurant. Secondly, I was stunned that our torta was so small for $7, and no avocado. What kind of torta doesn't have avocado? I thought it was a happy meal for a second. Third, the restrooms were disgusting, graffiti all over the place and the smell was unbearable. Fourth and not least, they had no salsa variation that you can add to your plate only some jalapeños, lemon, and a unappealing sauce. Horrible service. Give away your food after waiting 30 minutes. ask for something simpler so I could get it fast. They gave me a burrito that was probably just a wrong order from somebody else. Never order a Caldo de pescado or you'll be waiting for it for at least half an hour. read more
