I came to Grace Buffet hungry and left feeling like I had just survived a reality TV challenge. The highlight of the meal was when a fly literally flew out of my sushi. Not landed on it. Not near it. OUT OF IT. At that point I wasn't sure if I was eating at a buffet or witnessing a wildlife documentary. The shrimp smelled like it had been shipped here on the Mayflower. One sniff and my nose filed a formal complaint. I considered calling the health department just so someone else could smell what I smelled and confirm I wasn't hallucinating. To make things even better, when it was time to pay, the staff hovered over me while I signed the receipt like they were proctors at the SAT exam. Nothing says "great dining experience" like feeling pressured into tipping after playing Russian roulette with the seafood. The food looked exhausted, the shrimp smelled like low tide, a fly emerged from my sushi like it was paying rent there, and the only thing fresher than the food was the pressure to leave a tip. Amazing fried appetizers. The Asian food items tasted authentic and fresh. The several varieties of fish I tried were cooked or fried perfectly (including a mouthwatering salmon) Really good desserts! Amazing chunky chicken wings. I've been a patron of this buffet for several years but the last several months have caused me some issues. It seems that Everytime i eat there, I need to be near a bathroom within half an hour or forty-five minutes, due to the fact that something I eat there affects my bowel. I literally almost don't make it to the bathroom when I get home, because I literally am shooting water. At first I thought it was the ice cream, or the seafood, or maybe the noodles, but it doesn't matter what selection I make, I wind up in the bathroom. It really sucks, because I love the food. But since I cannot determine what it is that is making me have watery diarrhea by means of a particular entree, I know it's not me. It must be in the cleaning agents or something in the food prep. So, until I can figure out if I have an allergy to food, or the chemicals used to clean dishes and glasses with, I am no longer going to eat there. This has been going on for the last several months, since last summer. It's the only restaurant that does this to me. So if you have the stomach of a goat, you'll probably enjoy it there. Me, on the other hand, I'll be eating elsewhere from now on. Today was the final straw as I had to literally take a shower after all this fiasco. Today was the worst case I had. This is the best Chinese buffet i I've ever attended by far. My boyfriend and I came here on a Friday night, We were welcomed with smiles and the aroma of delicious smelling food. We sat down and got our drinks quickly, soon after that we got to indulge in the yummy food surrounding us. They had everything from your classic orange chicken, to fresh shrimp, sushi, salad bar, hibachi, and dessert with 8 different ice cream flavors and toppings + different cakes and cookies. They also have things like chicken nuggets and fries if your kiddos are picky! We sat down with our food and I got Fried rice, Lo mein, Crab rangoons, broccoli, Stuffed mushroom, Orange chicken, Fried shrimp with a sweet sauce and a variety of sushi. While everything was absolutely delicious, The star of the show was the Orange chicken it had the perfect amount of sauce and the crunchiness paired perfectly with the soft fried rice. Hands down the BEST orange chicken i've had in my life. A close second and third would be the sweet crunchy fried shrimp and the crab rangoons. The shrimp was so crispy and was cooked perfectly it had a creamy sweet flavor to it. The crab rangoons had so much filling and went perfectly with the red sweet and sour sauce. Moving on to the hibachi and sushi. Although I didn't get to try the hibachi the smell alone told we that it was delicious and i will definitely be trying next time! There was a young man doing sushi and hibachi working very hard! Me and my boyfriend got a few different kinds of sushi they have raw sushi and cooked depending on your preference. We got spicy california rolls, regular california rolls and tried a fried roll. Every piece had the perfect ratio of rice to filling. My favorite was the fried roll. After our bellies were almost full from the tasty food we made sure to save room for dessert, they had so many options it was hard to choose but I finally settled on mint chocolate chip ice cream and cookies. The icecream was very easy to scoop and the station was very clean. The icecream and the cookies were a perfect way to end a perfect meal. They gave us 2 free fortune cookies and we went on our way with our stomachs full and our faces smiling! This buffet is $15.99 per person so it's perfect for date nights, birthday dinners, get togethers and much more. The staff were friendly and helpful and they got our drinks and our plates cleared out of our way quickly. The dining room and buffet area was very sanitary and cleanly. There were maybe 10 other families. The food had all been sitting at the bar far too long. Everything was hard and stale and you could see the burn marks from where it stuck to the dishes. The price was about 10 dollars per person and our daughter ate for free which was nice because they had a lot of fresh fruit which she devoured. I added a star for this reason. They were good at taking plates away and filling drinks. However, the benches and space felt dirty. While we were there one young man fell because the floor was greasy. Will never go back due to something i saw the last time we were there. We were seated as normal and got our food. While eating we saw a man come in and sit down at a table. The waitess went to the back and brought out a case of green beans, threw a cloth over the table, dumped the green beans on it and sat down with the man to prepare them. Our waitress was going back and forth clearing tables and handling money, returning to green beans without washing her hands. The man was not dressed as an employee, sitting there drinking his coffee while preparing beans and at one point even used his finger to stir his coffee, licked it off and returned to the green beans. Couple weeks ago, I thought since there was a new Chinese buffet in town, there was competition, so there maybe some improvements had been made by Grace buffet. Then I went there for lunch. But I was pretty disappointed. The food was almost the same like before. There was one new item that was a kind of baked fish, it actually was good, better than the salmon. But that was it, I didn't find anything that tasted good. The seafood stirfry was yucky, the shrimps in side had too much starch coating on and were not fresh. Sushi bar was terrible, it was even worse than before. There were only 4 different types, all looked not fresh with very cheap materials inside. I love sushi, but here, I even didn't want to eat a piece. Mongolia BBQ station was the same as before, so cheap, there was no shrimp for lunch. Ok, as my review before, I said the owner here got too good business cause there was only one Chinese buffet in town, so the food quality got worse and worse, all cheap stuff. I thought maybe it got better because of competition , but I was wrong, not better, but worse, especially the sushi bar. I think I will stay away from this place for a long while, another buffet will be my choice. My other Chinese friends are on the same boat with me. Great buffet in the middle of nowhere. Actually was heading up to Canada, and randomly stopped for dinner. Happened to find Grace's buffet, and glad we popped in. The options are plentiful, a lot standard Chinese buffet items, and a few nice surprises. My favourite dish was the cumin lamb, absolutely delicious!! The servers are always attentive, the food is always yummy and the sushi is just right! The Mongolian bbq is always good and they have the classic ingredients that you love. Their coconut shrimp is always 11/10 and I love me some spicy crayfish on the weekends. Grace's used to be the best Chinese buffet in the area and shut down a few previous local favorites. The times have caught up with them as has the competition. I have refused to eat here for over a year and relented tonight hoping things would be different. Not so much. Food sits in trays well past it's quality stage, sushi is scary at best the cook stuff is passable but please stay away from the raw fish it looked closer to dried fish that fresh fish. New item from my last visit was beef jerky some of it green never saw green beef jerky. Mongolian chef also sushi guy does not allow you to put your own sauce and pays no attention to the sauce you want. So if you want Mongolian with soy sauce then he is your dude if you want flavor then good luck. Ice cream is good. Many better choices within a short drive. There is a variety of choices on the buffet and plenty of options if you don't necessarily like Chinese food. Foods is always delicious. Price is reasonable. The staff is always polite and sweet. It's a typical Chinese buffet. And their selection is big. I usually get two plates of food followed by some ice cream. I don't understand those saying they've seen burnt food or cold food there. Some ups and downs Got in and had a bit of a wait before we were seated. It seemed a bit unorganized in that sense. Once we were seated the service was quite fine. I first decided to try out the hibachi bar and that was a rather only downside to this outing. The food wasn't fully cooked and they were completley out of teriyaki sauce so that was a bit of a disappointment. Luckily most of the other food on the buffet would save this from being a bad food experience. The General Tso's Chicken was one of the best I've had well anywhere. The Spinach and cheese, Garlic Chicken and Broccoli, The Sushi, and Salmon were some of the other stand outs at this buffet. All really good and all worth the price. Lots of Variety. However I didn't quite like the mac and cheese, was kind of watery and less cheesy, and the strawberry bananas were a little too mushy. Aside from that everything else i sampled was amazing and the food was hot and kept being rotated as quickly as it would empty. Which couldn't have been an easy task with how busy they were. But I was pleasantly surprised: the food, including the sushi, looked and tasted fresh, and, of course, the assortment was so huge that everybody should be able to find something that they like.
