The food is fresh, but a little too salty. The bathroom is not properly stocked with toilet paper and I got in a sticky situation as a result. Very unprofessional and embarrassing. Check the toilet paper before you go! Lastly, the staff is a little weird. The staff was standing outside chit chatting in an empty restaurant while I waited for toilet paper. My husband had to go get some from the other bathroom for me. By the time we came out, I asked why they didn't go back to give us toilet paper. The girl's response was "I asked him to do it " and pointed to the kitchen. Well, honey, he didn't do it and we waited 10 minutes. So lazy! read more

Great local business. Fresh food, prepared in a healthy way. The service is always personable, and the owner recognized me from just several previous visits over the last few years (plus more when he wasn't there). I appreciate the compostable bowls and paper takeout boxes but recognize the convenience of plastic for some of the takeout components (lids, sauces, hot proteins) as possible. Our usual order is a "plate it" (really a bowl) with meatballs and an "extra protein" serving of more meatballs or plancha chicken, also a "toss it" with falafel (and "extra protein" of more falafel). The meatballs are tender and delicately spiced (with thyme and a bit of turmeric, I believe). The falafel are small, crunchy, and a nice bright green on the inside. Another user criticized Bonapita for having the dressings and proteins packaged separately, but doing so avoids having the warm protein or pre-dressing wilt the greens in the salad. The pita is thick and pillowy, sturdy enough to stand up to fillings instead of cracking and crumbling like commonly occurs with thin pita. Bonapita had added some items that I hadn't seen previously. We added a chicken skewer (well-seasoned and tender, but a bit of their fantastic hot sauce took it to another level), part of a feta/kalamata quiche (other options included mushroom and French onion), and a spinach boureka (they also have cheese and potato) that we'll enjoy over the next few days. read more

She was going there for a break during her shift w me & asked if I wanted takeout instead of the usual hospital food. I browsed the menu online & needless to say I was not disappointed. I got the fresh meatball stuffed pita w the fixings (asked for spicy) and a side of fried falafel balls. Was wondering if a pita & small side would fill me up - it sure did. Incredibly fresh made from scratch Mediterranean food. The only place in the area that makes real, fluffy pitas, and not the dry thin ones served everywhere else. The hummus is authentic and excellent, creamy like it should be. The chicken a la plancha is delicious and a favorite with my kids, and the meatballs are delicious and not too fatty. Excellent service & wonderful food!!! Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome from the Bonapita team, who also offered an overview of their menu as this was our first time visiting. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly high quality. The bowls we chose reminded us of tasty tagines we recently had in Morocco. We happened to be here on a holiday, so it was not busy, yet the staff was continuously working to keep everything stocked, clean and at its best. This place is something West Roxbury has needed for a while!! The food was so tasty and fresh. I loved the chicken, but am excited to try the falafel next time. Not only is the food super fresh and tasty, but the prices are right (blows Rami's out of the water) and the staff and atmosphere are awesome. Will be going here often and for years to come. Hummus and pitas are amazingly good. The owner is kind and offered to take my order early when he saw me waiting outside and opening hours during Covid were later at 11am. The only downside is that their chicken is all dark meat and there is no other option. I prefer white meat and probably would frequent here more often if there were other options. read more

It was tasty, filling and I'm pretty sure -healthy. The soft pita was a first but not a last for me. The place is clean and comfortable . I love the food at bonapita! The food is fresh and satisfies your hunger without feeling full and gross. I have been here a couple of times and had both the falafel and chicken stuffed pita. I prefer the falafel but they are both really delicious. I would have given the review 5 stars, if it wasn't for the lackluster Mac n cheese for kids. My daughter did not like it and it didn't look that appealing either. They do have other options for kids. My kids do love the pita bread though!! read more

Is it the best middle eastern food I have eaten? No, that distinction belongs to and now defunct Sultans Kitchen (Turkish) or the excellent Kareem's in Watertown. BONAPITA however is graced with fine people and good, healthy food. The pitas are excellent and I love the bowls. First time trying this place after searching for a good Mediterranean spot when we moved to Dedham a year ago. We used door dash delivery. My boyfriend and I both ordered the chicken a la plancha fill it with spicy hummus and mango sauce and I also got a kids falafel. Good food, great service, beautiful restaurant. We practically ordered the entire menu-- chicken, beef meatballs, falafel, hummus, veggies, pickled veggies, pita. If I came back again, I'd stick with the hummus plate and pita. The pita is the best I've ever had. It's enormous, fluffy, warm, dense, and tasty. The "side" of pita you get with your plate is insanely big. The hummus was good too; creamy, velvety, delicious (see the pic of my baby's first taste of hummus). The pickled veggies (complimentary) were also delicious. The rest was just mostly good. The chicken, beef meatballs, vegetables, rice, and falafel were all good. What I liked is that they use simple ingredients and it's all generally pretty healthy stuff. I wish the falafel was hotter/fresher like you get at other falafel places (granted, they take it out of the deep fryer and hand it to you at other places). Maybe, once BonaPita gets a larger following and a line out the door, their falafel will be hotter. It was crispy and tasty though. And everyone there was so nice and friendly. The ambiance was great. Would have liked a fountain soda machine rather than bottled drinks but meh-- not a huge deal. Worth a try and definitely a treat while maintaining a healthy diet. read more
