Since Bonchon is located in Clackamas Town Center, I was able to do a little shopping as my stomach was growling for food! Let's move on to the food... The Korean fried chicken was so crispy and delicious, but know in advance that the drumsticks vary in size. Some are enormous while others are tiny tiny. I've been there twice and have ordered the "Family Meal XL" both times, but was very disappointed with the fried rice the second time. Growing up as an Asian, I've never seen someone mess up fried rice so awfully. It was all BURNT. Besides the fried rice, the experience was amazing. You can't begin to imagine my happiness that we finally have Korean fried chicken in the portland area (restaurants selling overpriced not-quite versions like it's a high end cuisine don't count). I used to have these or jjajangmyun delivered almost everyday when I lived in Korea. The order is always right on time. The staff is efficient and friendly. The chicken is crispy and chewy and sweet. My only constructive feedback is to regarding the radish. It's waterless and kind of bitter. I'm used to the radish being picked longer and coming fully immersed in the sweet juice. The cashier was also not clear when explaining to me what she was talking about. She told me my order would be 20 minutes. Okay cool, I'll go into the mall and do some shopping. When I got back about 20 minutes later. My order was not even nearly finished. What's the point of telling me 20 minutes if you know it would take longer? Last month when we were in town, we had passed by but don't actually get to try. This visit was arranged day of on a whim. This was my second time eating Bonchon and first time trying this location. Shared a medium combo amongst four of us ++ one doggo. About a 20ish min wait but this location is outside the mall so many stores around to pass time. 5 tables outside - not sure about inside as I never actually stepped foot inside. Drumsticks were HUGE! Each bite was hot, crunchy, juice, and full of fire - if you eat with their red sauce! Recommend having the sauces on the side so you can add per individual preference. The fries were crispy and seasoned, the potstickers were spicy and flavorful, and the sides served on the smaller side (pickled daikon & coleslaw). Each item was neatly packaged and conscious of ventilation to avoid soggy food. Great flavor, not too salty, and each item complimented each other. It was plenty of food for us four as average eaters but if you are a big eater, I'd recommend ordering a size up. If you're looking for dessert they serve mochi ice cream too! read more

We order the large combo pack and they were great. The dumb stick were big. Most of My family prefer the wings. So keep that in mind when ordering cause you can just order wings or drumstick. The Kimchi fried rice was a hit and even my picky dad like it. The rest of the food we order was great. The service was good and everyone was friendly. I went early when they open and didnt have much of a wait. You can order a head so you dont have to wait. If you order there it take 20 to 30 mins for your order just a fyi. Simple and traditional Korean fried chicken restaurant. We got the wings (I hear the drums aren't as good) and fries. Both the Garlic Soy and the spicy wings were very good. Their pickled radish needed to ripen a lot longer before it should be served. The fries are also amazing and delicious. Everything is so crispy and flavorful. If you've never tried Korean fried chicken, this is the place to ease yourself in. They are a new restaurant and I suspect there will be some growing pains as their wait times for food easily exceed 30 minutes. Hopefully they get to be more efficient. As such, five stars for now for such fine food. They set a time expectation and the food came out early. So, bravo! read more

Last night my boyfriend and decided to stop by Bonchon for dinner! We got there at 7pm with only one other couple waiting in front of us. The staff was super nice and helpful. Since there's no dine in and it was cold out, we got everything to go. You can get a beer while you wait as well, which is nice! We ordered: 20 piece wings to share, we got half in soy garlic and half in hot. Seasoned fries Pot stickers in soy garlic We live about 20 minutes away so I was nervous about the food not being as good as if we ate it there. BUT... when we got home, most everything was still warm! We did pop the wings in the air fryer for a couple minutes to get them super crispy again, though. But the wings... oh man the wings. They were SO GOOD. I loved both flavors and I think the hot had the perfect amount of spice. The fries were mediocre. We "sprung" for the seasoned, which are $2 more expensive. I will definitely pass on them next time and grab another side. The pot stickers were AMAZING and I LOVE that they coat them in sauce as well! They had such great flavor. When we got home we dipped them in spicy mayo and it was soooo delicous. All in all we will definitely be back! And if you're wondering if you need to try this place out, YOU DO! My 1 Month Update: Happy to report that things have moved in the right direction! Chicken wasn't soggy and had a decent amount of sauce on it. Pickled Radish tasted right and didn't have a cleaning fluid taste. Did not revisit the fries this time and instead went with white rice. I work at the mall so I am always tempted to buy chicken when I'm here! The chicken is flavorful and the texture is crunchy but airy. I brought some home and traffic took an hour long! We got the family combo deal that comes with 12 wings, 6 drumsticks, 2 sides and 1 fried rice for $33.95. Got the soy garlic wings and it was a bit too salty, but it was crispy and moist. The fried rice wasn't special, it has a strong taste what tastes like sesame. The rice was a little tough, not as soft as what I'm used to in fried rice. That's when the attitude came and said I called earlier and requested the pick up time be 1:30. I was then very confused because I don't know what she was talking about. I never called them to change the time. I'm not sure what happened but accusing me of being the one that called them or someone did. I continued to tell them no I didn't call them. Chicken is packed in a special box with holes to keep the chicken from going soggy. Chicken showed up super crispy, hot, and fresh, even after traveling a long ways. Been eating here since they opened. Whether it's dine in or delivery quality and service has never diminished. Their chicken always taste fresh accompanied with excellent customer service. I absolutely love bonchon! The food is so tasty and my picky eater kiddo loves the chicken. I was extremely disappointed with the service. I was ordering and the young man that took my order made me feel like I was annoying him. Then I proceeded with paying with my cash, he took it and let out a huge sigh like it was an inconvenience to him. My brothers order came out and they thanked the gal who brought it out.
