Anyone looking for hand-pulled noodles: as of May 2025, you will not find them here. They apparently stopped serving them. May return for: Beef In Chili Sauce (cold) - I love this dish and have had it at many other places. Chili oil was delicious; onions and cilantro went well with the thin slices of beef. Would not return for: anything else. Taiwan Beef Brisket Tomato Noodle soup - it was bland broth, unfortunately. Uncooked spinach and tomatoes added on top, very little flavor. Brisket was not very soft. Mongolian Beef Chow Mein - there was a puddle of sauce at the bottom of the bowl, which I would not expect for chow mein. Definitely not cooked in a wok (or done very poorly). Handmade spicy pork wontons - also not flavorful. If they used the chili oil on the Beef in Chili dish, this might taste better. We came to this place for lunch based on Yelp's recommendations. The restaurant was easy to find at the entrance of a strip mall. It was busy on Friday for lunch. We were greeted right away by the staffs. We ordered spicy wonton, pork belly noodles, tomato brisket noodles and Lanzhou noodles. The portions were generous. The pork belly was marinated with great flavor however the soup was bland. The Lanzhou noodle was spicy and had stronger flavor broth. One of my boys liked the tomato beef noodle and finished the bowl with lightning speed. This is a good spot for a quick noodle meal. read more

This was my first visit and I will definitely be returning if I'm ever in the area. I came here on the weekend after lunch and it was surprisingly empty. The interior is cute and they have high chairs if you are bringing any kids with you. We opted for one soup and one noodle dish. Braised pork belly and green bean chow mein was delicious! The soup wasn't too spicy so the server gave us some chili oil to up the spice a bit (I can't remember the name of the soup but I'll update this review if I figure it out)! I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for quite a while. It is quite a ways out off of Sunnyside Road, east of I-205. I am going to say that any noodle dish is probably excellent, with the fresh,, in-house noodles. I also had some dumplings. I will absolutely be back to try more items on the menu. I came here for a quick bite and it was perfect. The shop is in a pretty busy shopping area and can be easy to miss, but it's worth checking out. I was seated immediately after coming in and the staff was very quick and kind. Their menu is pretty diverse with different dishes and cuisines here. Within 10 minutes of ordering, my food was already out. The portions here are pretty generous and the prices are on the more affordable side compared to many similar restaurants. The food wasn't particularly outstanding, but it was still really good when you want a quick bite or casual meal. I've been regularly going to Noodle Man now since they first opened roughly 5 years ago. Their menu has gone through a few revisions and some of the great appetizers that were available when they first opened are no longer available anymore. The menu seems a bit more streamlined, but many of the better noodle soups are still there. Overall, I think their price increases over the last 5 years have been in line with other restaurants, but I still think they are a decent value relative to other asian noodle soup places since their noodles are handmade and regularly pulled. Food quality is consistent visit to visit, but part of me feels like it was slightly better back in the day, although this could be just my perception. Regardless this is still a good place to dine in, or order for take out and is slept on by too many people. I haven't been going here as regularly as I used to, but it does sadden me a bit that this place isn't as busy as it once was despite being probably the best option for Chinese in Happy Valley. read more

Service was really fast and the noodle was brought to my table in less than 3 mins after I ordered. I ordered B1 Lanzhou beef noodle soup (spicy). It reminded me of the authentic one I had before but still different. The noodle was as filling as the one in my memory and I felt very heavy after all the meat was gone. Not enough meat and vegetables to help cope with the heaviness. The broth was good but it was like their own take on Lanzhou noodle soup as I tasted Chinese herbal medicines in it. Both the chili sauce they put and the one on the table were not spicy at all. I wouldn't do B1 without spice and I can imagine how bland it would taste. I was wondering if the noodle was handmade because I didn't see anyone making noodles on the spot in the kitchen. I messaged my friend right away and was told they used to have a designated person to make noodles. Although no one was making noodles when I was there, I think they still hand make their noodles because the ends didn't seem to be cut by a machine. Decided to give this place another shot and we were pleasantly surprised this time around! We ordered the Sichuan spicy pork wontons, you po noodles, and the kung pao chicken chow mein. All of them were great. I would definitely eat these dishes again! However, my favorite was the you po noodles. Loved this restaurant. The food were definitely good and tasty. I was little disappointed because of the live showing making the noodle when you order the food. Apparently, it does looks like they stopped doing it. But, they still make the noodle early in the day or something but it's still fresh! I got their Dan Dan noodle which was the bomb and Couple other things. I usually order a bowl of rice after eating the noodle because there is still leftover minced meat and when you mix the white rice with it together you get a whole new item. Trust me on this! This was truly fantastic! We tried it based on it being within walking distance from my friends place, and I'm SO happy we did. Their menu is minimal, but quality. And the portions and prices were well worth it. We tried 4 of the items. XLB, sweet & sour spare ribs, braised pork belly & green bean chow mein, and the kung pao chicken fried rice. The XLB were probably some of the best I've had - on the smaller side, but soup and filling were fantastic. Sweet & sour spare ribs were a good balance of meaty and fatty. The sauce was fantastic and you got a good amount for $7. Braised pork belly chow mein was incredible. Noodles were the perfect chew, the pork belly was incredibly soft and tender with tons of flavor. The green beans were a smidge too soft, so they fell apart. But overall I would absolutely order again. Kung pao fried rice was pretty good. I wish there was a bit more spice, and the chicken was oddly cut - some pieces were very large, others super tiny. Lanzhou noodle soup This was very delicious. It was a lighter broth, but it still made me very happy. I do wish they included just a tad more radish and meat, because baes portion of brisket was insane lol hard to describe what the flavor was like, but it was slightly sweet and not medicinal and made me feel all warm inside. Brisket tomato noodle soup This soup was so amazing. It was a bit heavier, but also sweeter from the tomato. Kinda like Vietnamese bun rieu but not lol I liked my dish, but this one knocked my socks off. The meat was very good quality, tender and flavorful. The soup I have I have no words. Everything worked really well together: the cilantro brightened things up, chili oil provided spice, tomato provided sweet.. all you gotta do is bring your tongue lol It wasn't very spicy despite the amount of chili oil used, but had so much damn flavor. It ain't no din tai fung but still juicy and delicious. The skin is thicker. - spicy pork wontons - 5/5 it's also another one of their appetizers and we had 2 orders. The sauce is good that it was the perfect dipping sauce for the XLB. - Lanzhou Beef Noodle with Soup - 5/5 my kids loved the noodles but didn't like the soup bc it was pretty herby. This place had so many amazing options from multiple Asian regions so we got Taiwanese, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese noodles. Hand pulled noodles? Don't mind if I do. When Yelping fresh noodles, Noodle Man was one of the top rated restaurants so you know we had to give this place a shot. With COVID they are closed for dine-in but you can order for take out/delivery using Grubhub with the restaurant. GrubHub over-estimates the time it takes to fulfill the order so order before you're going to head out as they get it completed super quickly. The menu is straightforward but with enough variety across appetizers, fried rice, noodle soups, and dry noodles. Nice balance between spicy and non-spicy options. + Spicy Pork Wonton - This order comes with 10 pieces of wontons in a nice spicy chili oil. Great option for an appetizer but the wontons were on the smaller side. + Kung Pao Chicken Chow Mein - Would get this again. The chow mein noodles were tasty and the dish had thick/big slices of onions, bell peppers, and tender chicken. + XLB - Sadly the to-go order didn't hold up well and the XLB all got holes in them :( Although we didn't really get to sample the soup the meat was flavorful. + You Po Knife Sliced Noodle - Fan favorite and I can see why. I really enjoyed the thicker hand pulled noodles and it was a good balance between spices of the meat, bean spouts, etc. I also tried the milk tea here but I would pass next time as it tasted too powdery. Overall, the dishes hold up well to go but I would definitely want to come here again to have them fresh to the table. Did not expect to have such a great noodle place here. Been here twice, once on my own and once for pick up for my wife and in laws who are Taiwanese. They lived the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. I got the Lanzhou Beef Noodle soup which was herbal, spicy, and refreshing with the radish. My wife got the Shanxi knife sliced chicken noodle soup which was solid but probably better in the restaurant than to go. We live close by so we'll be back! read more

Everything was delicious. I got the spicy soup and it was so intensely flavored with Szechuan peppercorns that it was very difficult to get through, as my mouth was completely numb and I couldn't really taste any other flavors. I'm not going to rate them down for it since I'm sure there are people out there that love it, but definitely be aware of that before ordering. This place is delicious! They really hit it out of the park on the dishes we tried. It's not near me but I will make the trek over there to try a few more things and get more of the spicy pork wontons. We arrived at 6pm on a rainy Saturday night and there was a full house in there, plus a few people waiting around. I added my name to the end of a giant list, worried that it would be a long wait. Turns out, they weren't crossing names off the list, and all the people milling around were waiting for take out orders. We got the next table, about 15 min after we arrived. I knew I'd pretty much like anything at a place called "Noodle Man". I have never tried this sort of Chinese noodle soup before though. It was somewhere between a Vietnamese Pho and a Japanese Ramen. Thin but incredibly flavorful broth in my Lanzhou Beef soup, filled with slices of beef and a bunch of fresh bouncy wheat noodles, made spicy by a dollop of chilis on top, plus some aromatics. Maybe next time I go mild instead of medium spicy - this was pretty hot and I'm well spice-trained... Perfect for a cold rainy night. The spicy pork wontons were out of this world! I could eat these all day, every day. Spicy but not overly so, and a touch of sweet. Probably 9 wontons in the bowl. So so good. 5 stars for these babies. I got a peach tea, which was very sweet but very peachy. It was helpful in calming my on-fire mouth from the soup. Hubby got the Mongolian beef chow mein - also very good and lots of flavor in the meat. Not too many onions either. Service was fairly quick once we were seated. They were hustling for sure. Lucky for us Angela and husband Sean bet outside of the Vegas mothership, Beijing Noodle No 9 restaurant inside Caesars Palace, to set up shop in the Valley of the Happy in suburban Clackamas County! An alum of Guo-Ming Xin, Caesar's King of Vegas noodling, Sean IS the Noodle master in the namesake restaurant (I asked, and yes the solo craftsman transforming wheat and water to chewy rope, that odds are will make you a Happy Valley regular!) From the serious worker aprons with leather strap details, to the visible kitchen with glass front on entering, you know you've just stepped into serious dough. So about those soup noodles: Addictive Spicy oil floats over a complex broth hitting 5-spice notes (don't let the 'decoxting soup w/18 different flavors from Chinese herbal medicine' sidetrack you) laden with tender slabs of beef, cilantro and wafers of radish and the famous fabbo fat noodles; or go long & thin. We asked for more chili oil on the side for dipping and Free extra noodles, say wh@t?! $13 is a steal compared to a bowl of similar priced Pho these days with packaged rice noodles that cost a buck. Yes its about the broth too but the Lanzhou is no instant hot pot endeavor either. Kung Pao Chix Chow Mein, again all noodles fresh made, thick knife cut or thin hand formed, while aok didn't register re-order, a tad sweet for the hubby who insisted on ordering his mainstay, against my better advice to branch out for the Mongolian Beef Chow Mein. We walked about 2 miles on a thick layer of ice and this was one of the few restaurants open. A piping hot bowl of soup was exactly what I needed and everything we ordered was delicious. Not all of the food came out at once but it was close enough. I got the Shanxi Knife Sliced Noodle Soup, my husband got the Braised Pork Belly & Green Bean Chow Mein, and we shared the spicy wontons. Plenty of food to feed us both and put comfort in our souls. Lots of flavor in each dish and each cooked quite well. It was on the pricier side but definitely beat our expectations. read more
