This review is only for the wings, because that was my first time here and they were highly recommended. I ordered the half-and-half, which were spicy wings and ginger soy wings. I prefer the spicy wings but the ginger soy were very good too. I definitely will be back because the chicken is flavorful, juicy and has a an egg roll like coating. We lived in Korea and have found memories of Koean fried chicken and beer. Unfortunately Bonchon missed the mark and failed to rekindle our fond memories. It gives a fast food feel with a sit down price. $2 dollar off drafts are advertised on the door on the way in, but was charged $4.50 each for two bud light drafts.. The chicken wrap was good but bland, in stark contrast to the chicken which almost has too much flavor. The pot stickers were also dissapointing as they were overcooked and also smothered in the over flavorful sauce. The wait staff were pleasant and courteous however, we are unlikely to return as the value of what is provided is better spent elsewhere. read more

Had chicken strips and coleslaw for lunch. Coleslaw is delicious and the chicken strips are okay. Service was a little slow, but we were not in a hurry so it didn't matter. Server was pleasant. Wonder if the food contains MSG? Cannot say I'm a big fan of the chicken. It was my first time at a Bonchon and for me there is too much breading on the chicken. If someone I'm eating with wants to go here I'll go, but I don't think it will be my choice anytime soon. read more

I have been a customer at this location for about two years now. I have dined in (pre-Covid) and ordered takeout. I have always had a pleasant experience with the staff until today. There was a new girl at the register. Her name is Sarah. When I say she was the most rude person, she was extremely rude. I ordered online and needed to call in to the store be sure they included an item to my order which is not listed on the takeout menu. As I was speaking on the phone Sarah hung up the phone on me mid sentence. When I arrived at the restaurant to retrieve my large order, over $100, Sarah was there and still rude as ever. She argued and rolled her eyes at me and my husband, while denying hanging up. I asked to speak with her manager and a male by the name of Jose, who I later found out was a chef, posed as the manager. He admitted that Sarah is always rude and they are short staffed so they deal with it. As I was speaking with Jose, the chef, the general manager appeared. I called for him to speak to me and my husband and he did. It was horrible. I ended up cancelling the order all together. They didn't even try and make the situation right. They wanted me to take the food and the rude service. I will never spend my money with them again. read more

Unfortunately very disappointing attempt to have lunch here. We ordered kimchi fries and bibimbap. Fries arrived after some wait and since they never bring all the dishes to the table at the same time we thought the bibimbap would be arriving shortly - wrong! We waited, and waited and waited, were told few times it's ready in few minutes - didn't happen. Finally just got tired of waiting and told we wanted to have check. They were going to charge us for both dishes! Manager finally got the check straightened out and offered the bibimbap for free but what's the point, too late. I rather go to a restaurant that is able to handle basic task like that. read more

This was our first time and we did take out. The seating area and bar looks nice and has a good atmosphere. The food flavor was 5 star the portions not so much. We had potstickers 8 came in the box, fried rice in a mostly filled smallish plastic container, and the bulgogi in a half filled larger rectangular plastic container. We expected the bulgogi to at least have some white rice, but no. Maybe they forgot it because I just looked at the menu again and it was supposed to come with white rice. Still not sure if the portion size was worth $40 for only those three items though. read more

I ordered Truffle Fries and received Regular fries. Upon arriving home 20 mins later, I realized this and contacted them. I was told I needed to return the fries although I was 20 mins (without traffic). I asked them to be considerate and not lose a customer over $4charge. It's a matter of principle. I love this chain and have been here to this location a few times since it opened. Usually have no problems with the food. Comes out quick and hot. Love the wings lunch special. Today I tried chicken bimbimbap and it was totally disappointing. The bowl it comes in is usually steaming hot with crackling rice. Not today. I could actually touch the sides. Well the chicken was almost not there and appeared to be previously frozen and was not seasoned had that canned chicken taste. Mushrooms were button not shitake, which I've had on BBB at other locations. Barely any vegs and the pickled ones were mushy. The egg was the only redeeming item and was plentiful, almost too much, and seasoned. Being that there was only 2 customers in at noon, this was sad kitchen management. It almost seemed like they didn't know what to put on it. Oh, and there was quinoa sprinkled on top, which I've Never had. I guess that extra protein was making up for lackluster chicken. I'm not sure I'll be back here. Will go back to Crofton location where I've been also and have a comparison specifically on this dish. Hope things improve. read more

The reason I'm giving at least two stars is because the food is very good. The reason I only gave two stars but wanted to give one is because of the service. My husband and I and our son ordered three meal items and an order of fries all at the same time. It is amazing that even after asking the server another server and our server again about the fries we still did not have them in our food was pretty much gone. My husband informed the server we did not want the fries anymore. She then told us she would take them off the bill. Within seconds she came back to the table and tried to intimidate us into excepting the fries because they were ready finally. We said no please take them off the bill we do not want them. She kept telling us just take them home they'll be good as a snack. We both kept saying no we do not want them. So then the manager comes over and tries to intimidate us into taking the fries and paying for them. I have never been to a restaurant where an order of fries has almost been shoved down my throat. The manager in fact tried to tell us that sometimes the fries take a little longer. The problem with that is that we asked three or four different times about our fries. And every time we asked about our fries we were told they're coming right out there coming right up. If my husband and I ever eat there again it'll be in order to go. I do not think this restaurant knows how do you serve a customer in a timely manner read more

Went to bonchon this morning and didn't have a great experience, first time at this location. Fried chicken was great, i ordered japchae as well and told my server i'm allergic to mushrooms so don't put any in there, my plate came out and there was mushrooms in there, i told him that there was mushrooms in there and he took the plate back to the kitchen and gave me a new plate but i'm pretty sure it was the same one because i was taking little bites and seen at least 5 pieces of mushrooms in there and acknowledged him that there's mushrooms still in there and i'm very allergic to them, he asked me if i was really allergic to them and i told him i'm very allergic, if i said i don't want mushrooms in there because i'm allergic then it means i'm allergic, so basically i think they have me the same plate and just took a few mushrooms out. He also said something about mushrooms being on the meat and it was stuck on the meat and didn't wanna throw it away because he didn't want to waste it... And what pissed me off was him not asking if i wanted anything else, just took my plate and left like he was annoyed so i left the place with an empty stomach. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We ordered a few apps to split between my me and my hubby, an order of tacos as well as a chicken and rice dinner for our kids to split. Each app came out one by one, then the tacos but never the chicken. We waited for 40 minutes for the chicken and finally we asked them to scratch the chicken because we had a reservation to be at. So aside from our kids watching us eat while complaining of being hungry, the food was dismal at best. If you enjoy pork belly that resembles a hockey puck, then this is your place. read more

The stars are for food quality. The food tastes great but everything else is a disaster. Walked into the restaurant with my family and the place is NOT busy. Only 5 tables occupied in the restaurant and we couldn't get seated because of lack of bussers. Every table has dirty dishes and nobody making an effort to clean tables for turnover. All the staff slow walk everything and take their time. No sense of urgency. Ordered food and took 45 minutes to get food to our table. Keep in mind there are only 5 tables occupied. No one in the restaurant is eating, drinks are empty, and everyone is waiting for food. I see about 7 employees. 3 in the front and 4 in the back. The 2 stars is literally only for food quality. Come here for the food but expect to have terrible service. read more

The menu has a lot of options. We have been back several times and always get an order of the wings. They are now offering a new sweet flavor in addition to their hot and soy garlic. The hot is a bit too hot for me. I love the soy garlic and have not had a chance to try the new flavor. It's usually not too busy when we are there but the food takes a bit to come out. I attended the Grand Opening of BonChon in Pasadena. BonChon is a world-wide franchise that specializes in a unique kind Korean chicken and a wide variety of other Asian dishes. If you're thinking, "Ugh, not another chicken joint," hold on. It's nothing like the KFC and Boston Chicken types of chicken dishes that we've been used to for decades. BonChon offers are two seasoning preparations of chicken, spicy and garlic-soy. We had both, as well as a couple of other dishes. The chicken wings were very meaty and juicy, and their size didn't require cooking to the point of losing tenderness. The skin remains on, but it seems impossibly thin and it's pleasantly crunchy. The spicy wings had a medium kick upon the first bite, and the flavor of the meat came through immediately thereafter. The garlic-soy wings featured the same skin crunchiness, and they were flavorful without the spiciness. With the wings, small pickled radish cubes are served. Slightly sweet, they are cold and very refreshing after a few bites of the chicken. Chicken sliders were delicious, with the boneless chicken being topped with thinly sliced cucumber and shredded cabbage slaw. Pork buns were soft, slightly sweet, and tangy. I don't know what kind of sauce tops the meat, but don't miss it. The staff was attentive, and there is a full bar. We're going back soon! read more
