I first saw Kristie when she was still in beauty school (6 or 7 YEARS ago). I was super broke and wanted to do something different with my hair so I took a chance and went up to CSM ( I know, brave, right?). I haven't let anyone touch my hair since! I was impressed with her back then and still get amazed with how fantastic I look and feel everytime I leave. My daughter also gets her hair done by Kristie. She's great with kids! Words can't describe how amazing Kristie was on my color. I have typical Asian hair that had been colored before and I wanted to do a silvery lilac color. I had read up that the proper way to do silver coloring was to do it in 2 sessions. As soon as I sat down, she advised me that the proper way to do it was in two sittings. I knew from that point that she was the right stylist to do this. The first session, took 6 hours to lift the color and the 2nd session took about 1 1/2 hours to add the color. I followed her advice to wait to wash my hair and when I finally did, not a single drop of the color washed out of my hair. I've done different colors before and this is the first time I've never had my towels ruined. She's amazing and my new forever hair stylist! This review is long overdue. Kristie is an amazing stylist! I've been trying to go "subtle blonde" or "I don't wanna have roots" blonde for some time now and Kristie was the stylist to finally take me there. I booked an appointment on StyleSeat for a consult (free!) so she could see what she would be working with. She was super nice in the consult and totally understood what I was looking for, which is so important in a stylist/colorist. We made an appointment for a week or two later where she bleached some parts of my hair and toned down others. I came out of the appointment with hair that was better than I could have imagined. UNPROFESSIONAL . in every way! She turned my blonde hair Copper colored. I kept an open mind about trying out Kristi for highlights when it was clear that she does mostly non-natural looking color jobs. She kept me waiting an hour for our appointment while her cut was fine, the highlights she put in came out an Orange/Copper shade. AND the there where zero highlights at my temples?! I was understanding and didn't even get pissed. I simply left with the agreement that I would come back after my hair PH normalized and she would attempt to fix the botch color. When I attempted to reach her she decided she would just not call back. Frightening display of a lack in professionalism and ability to stand behind her work product! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR QUALITY NATURAL LOOKING COLOR ... Kristie is NOT for you!! Oh, and she had a friend come in (while I was a paying customer) and talked and styled her hair while I sat out in the hallway. Perhaps leading to the bad color turn out. Sometimes with a new colorist you have to learn how color will work on them. I have in the past had this happen. However, that stylist FIXED corrected the problem and stood behind her work. Kristie is an amazing stylist. She listens to your ideas, ads her own creative touch, and the results are always fantastic. I was a chronic salon jumper, never really finding that one place or person who really could deliver an amazing cut and color. I bought Kristie's groupon, to check her out. If I could give Kristie a million stars I would. She is seriously the BEST hair stylist that I've ever, ever been to. I first saw her like three years ago when my hair had been butchered--seriously, that's the only way to describe it--by a lesser stylist. Kristie saved the day and re-did the cut so that I was willing to wear my hair down (rather than a pony tail or bun). Since then, I've only trusted Kristie with my hair. My hair is fine, somewhat wavy and there is lots of it--so other hair stylists tend to under-trim or over-trim it most of the time. And they do these "fancy cuts" that they "just learned about" which always seem to mean trouble. Not Kristie! She gets my hair and how I maintain it. It's been a while since my last cut so I decide I wanted some color with my cut. I have thin Asian hair with major split ends from continuous perms and colors from the past 5 years. My goal was to have healthy, stronger hair. I thought in order to keep my hair healthy, I could no longer color but after meeting Kristie, she has given me confidence and so much advice about maintaining healthy hair and not stripping the oils that the ends of my hair need. My hair was down to my lower back and dead, it was time to chop it off! Kristie did a long A-line cut and dyed my hair a dark red color that I loved! July of 2012 i had a haircut. I asked for just a trim and add some texture to my thin, really straight hair so that it doesn't look flat. I came in for my hair appointment where she dyed my hair a beautiful dark blue color and sold me a conditioner that is great for my hair. Kristie is a very talented stylist, gives a great cut and while I have never done color seems to be a master of that art. But don't rely on her scheduler or think she will take responsibility for it or have any loyalty to even a longtime customer of several years I was very unpleasantly surprised last week and I can't help but feel my pocket was picked and I had to drive an hour round trip for the experience. I made an appt via her on-line scheduler and it added it to my calendar. I arrived for the appt 10 minutes early only to find that Kristie had already left! For whatever reason Kristie had expected a different time. I got charged for the appt the next day. When I contacted Kristie to let her know I thought she would apologize and look to reschedule. Instead she said she meant to charge me as she had a time about half an hour before I arrived in her calendar and so charged me for a missed appt. Wow - really? It was apparently her scheduler that caused the mixup as I relied on the timeslot it added to my calendar when I made the appointment. Ironically more than once I waited for her to arrive when I had the first appt of the day and she was running late. And I don't think I was ever even a few minutes late over the years. The blond highlights are beautiful and very natural-looking (I chose an ash blond shade to avoid looking brassy), and on top of the great color, Kristie gave me the best haircut I've ever had! I believe it has been 2 years since I first went to Kristie. I was a blond that wasn't sure of what I wanted to do with my hair except that I wanted to go darker. I let her really help choose the color and it turned out great. Since then I have always had brownish hair. It has ranged from natural looking brunette to vibrant reds and purples. Kristie always does a great job finding the color I am in the mood for. It is very clear to me that Kristie knows her way around hair color. Kristie uses top quality products. I have visited other colorists who's products made my hair dry, dull, and ugly, but when I come back from Kristie, my hair is beautiful. While her prices are higher than others, it is worth it. From the dye to the glaze to the conditioner, everything see uses is carefully chosen for quality. I see Kristie every two months or so, only because my roots are showing. But even at the end of the two months, my color is still vibrant. Cut wise, she has never cut too short as is common in other salons. I am very happy with the quality of the cut. One thing many people look for in a hair dresser is also that they are friendly. In my opinion she is very cool and interesting to talk to. We never run out of things to talk about and despite her high number of clients, she actually remembers things about me. I was never able to reach her on the phone, and she would send me random e-mails saying I'd already had my appointment and would I like to schedule another one - huh?
