Service was struggling as they trained new personnel, I knew more about the menu than the trainee or the trainer! The loud rap music did not fit the atmosphere, a bit overpowering. Found this place on Yelp, there were some mixed reviews. I ordered pulled pork, mac & cheese, and the ranch beans. Personally, I think it's wonderful! The ranch beans have wonderful flavor reminded me of the old canned version but much better! Mac & cheese was crispy on top and gooey in the middle. The pulled pork was moist, flavorful and very yummy! I will definitely go back here again. I ordered through GrubHub and picked it up. Burgers are fantastic! I happened upon them while I was in town for work, I ended up going back a few more times that week and wasn't disappointed even once. The food is good, but the last time we went it just wasn't clean. It was between 4 and 5, so plenty of time to recover from a lunch rush. Most of the tables had not been wiped down. The number they gave us to put on the table had bbq sauce smeared on it. The area to pick food up had spills and crumbs of food on it. Then to top it off, the soda machine was out of at least 2 flavors and one had already been out the week before. Yum! Being from the South, we are picky bbq eaters. Everything we've tried here is really good! Pulled pork, chicken, salad bar, collard greens, beans, coleslaw, fries, Mac and cheese. The sauce is good (not too sweet). If you want something good to eat, go here. Great bbq, have essentially tried everything on the menu. Locally they make the best potato salad that's got a zap of sweetness and not just dominated by dill and bitterness. Everything is good and or great, the only thing is the cilantro lime coleslaw, it's so unique that it belongs as it's own side, I prefer it off the sandwich because the lime drastically changes the bbq overall. Was hankerin' for some bbq. Decided to park near the entrance of the Reno Public Market (299 Plumb Lane). I have been to this venue before, The Bone Appetit BBQ employee took my order. She handed me what appeared to be an electronic beeper to alert me when my order was ready to pick up. While I waited, I found an empty table directly across from the bbq. The table was clean with a napkin dispenser which came in handy during my meal venture. The beeper alerted me my order was ready. Beautifully plated three ribs, cole slaw, and two plastic containers of beans on a baking sheet with a checkerboard paper. Everything looked so yummy. I chose to start my meal by trying the beans. I was so amazed at the fresh ingredients. Sadly one container of beans was all I could consume. Then I tried the cole slaw. Again totally amazed at the fresh slaw administered with a lovely smattering of vinegar was perfect. My last endeavor was the ribs. Blown away of the ribs. They were perfectly cooked, perfectly smattered with bbq sauce flawlessly fell off the bone, and sequentially enjoyed every bbq rib on my plate. I was half tempted to walk down to Mediterian Bae to order baklava. However, I did not want to slow down, so I quietly emptied my tray and headed out to my car. Perhaps another trip to Reno will have to visit the Mediterranean Bae. Overall Bone Appetite was a pleasant experience. Will be back again soon. read more

Drink a ton of water!!!!! If anyone remembers SuperChix, everything is pretty much the same with some BBQ branding slapped on it. Decided to go for the plate, getting the chicken and pulled pork. For the sides I did the salad bar and the potato salad. The salad bar could use a refresh. Spinach was looking a little rough and needed the spring mix refilled. The iceberg mix looked like it had been there for a couple days. Has a good amount of salad toppings. Fresh ranch but all other dressings were in packets. It has potential for sure. First bite of potato salad wasn't too bad, then the salt hits you all at once and completely covers the taste of the side. Pulled pork was pretty good, very faint smoke, mostly over seasoned. The chicken was honestly the best part. Cooked perfectly, tastes fresh off of the grill. I would probably ask for the bbq on the side since it's a bit overpowering, just personal preference. The staff were all super friendly and fast and the food smelled amazing I got a side of ribs and hot link and chicken tenders and a smash burger. Smash burger was good but not smashed as in the patties weren't Lacey and caramelized it was just a double burger but it tasted good. Loved their pickles they tasted in house made. Ribs were pretty good, nice and tender and the bbq sauce was fabulous. They even put green onions on them which was a nice touch. Hot link was not my favorite the texture was a little loose for a sausage but I'm used to the hot links at another local spot so might just be not what I'm used to. The flavor was good though not too spicy but a nice kick. I think the star was the chicken tenders I had buffalo sauce and they were juicy as can be and the buffalo was nice and zingy but not super spicy. And they make their ranch in house and it shows! I really wanted to love this place. Came in for the first time for lunch on a rainy Saturday so there was maybe 3 other tables already sitting. Not busy. The guy at the register, who is apparently the owner, was very nice and gave us samples of the mango custard, which was very good, and also gave some recommendations from the menu. We ordered the Jammi Slammi and the loaded BBQ fries for seating. We waited a while for our food and when the girl brought it over, I think she might be the chef, it was all bagged up and I said "Oh, this was supposed to be for here." She basically just dropped the bag next to me on the seat, started walking away, shrugged her shoulders and said, "It said take out on the ticket." No apology or offer to bring plates or anything. The food must have been sitting on the counter awhile because the fries were cold. The BBQ loaded fries only came with cheese and pulled pork and were missing a bunch of the other toppings. I brought it back up to the counter and the same girl took it from me, didn't say anything to me, sighed and rolled her eyes at the other guy who was supposed to be putting the other toppings on I guess. He at least apologized when he handed the fries back. Needless to say, this chick is rude and needs to work on her customer service skills being that she works in the customer service industry. Not good. I got the 3 meat plate which included 2 sides, coleslaw and pickle and onions ( no onions added) for $17 + tax. My meat choices ( you can't have double meat, has to be different choices) were pulled pork (tasted like boiled pork w/bbq sauce squirted on), 2 ribs (not edible unless you like overpowering liquid smoke taste, could not distinguish what I was eating) and a piece of chicken ( which was actually pretty good), my sides were: mac & cheese ( did not like consistency, maybe too much flour?) and the salad bar ( decent selections except if it's to go you have to pay extra for ranch or use what they have there). Overall not impressed, definitely not going back and not worth the money. Staff was great and atmosphere was nice, kid loved the chicken bbq loaded fries. read more
