MB Grill is a Five Star hidden treasure. It is off of Los Altos Pky in Sparks, suite 200 in the Michael's shopping center. MB Grill is the very best Mongolian Bbq in Sparks and Reno. The food is made to order with so many meat, vegetable and vegan options. This is a family owned and operated business with one special restaurant in Sparks. They are closed on Tuesday. I have brought my family many times, and now my family is bringing their friends and family. If you are looking for a really wonderful fresh plate of healthy food, Thai Tea, and a restaurant that cares about their quality of food and the customers they serve, please come in for lunch or dinner. This place is Mongolian BBQ. We got seated right away. They give you a piece of paper and you checkbox the items you would like in your bowl. They have kids, small, and large bowls. They have many categories to choose from when building your own bowl. You can also pick already created bowls. I had the small bowl of goodness in the photo attached. The shrimp was abundant which is my favorite along with chicken, and beef. There are a few appetizers, wine, beer, bobo teas to choose from on the piece of paper you make your selections from. They refilled my soda at least three times. I have not been since it changed owners and my dining experience was perfect, but I do miss putting the items in my bowl that was half the fun!! read more

The fried rice is underwhelming in my opinion, it's little wet like it cooked with too much water, it's has no taste to it. Aside the fried rice. The noodles and other toppings I had and the seasoning makes up, for it. The noodles are savory. I mixed the fried rices into the noodles, since the fried rice lacks flavoring and it's wet. Fried rice needs texture and little less water. The place is dead quiet, possibly 4or 5 family around. I was briefly seated, the wait staff brought my water that's the only interaction I had the wait staff through out the night. Service could been better. Other than bringing the food and water. I thought this place was pretty good! You build your own stir fry on a piece of paper and we had our meals within 5 minutes. We both ordered the large so we could have leftovers and both had plenty for a full meal the next day as well. It's a fairly big place and they seat you - you don't order at the counter. Unfortunately this wasn't the Mongolian BBQ experience I was expecting. First thing I noticed was the ventilation system seemed lacking. I was only inside for a few minutes picking up a to-go order and walked out smelling like burnt oil. The food itself was disappointing. Unlike other Mongolian BBQ places I've been to, you're required to pick two starches, which filled up a large portion of the bowl before I even got to the ingredients I actually wanted. The vegetable portions were also pretty sparse. I ordered bean sprouts, broccoli, mushrooms, peas/carrots, cabbage, and water chestnuts, and the only item that seemed to have an adequate amount was the water chestnuts. Also, if you're expecting the traditional thin shaved protein you see at many Mongolian BBQ restaurants, this wasn't that. The meat came in small chunks instead. As you enter, it's an older restaurant nothing fancy, so your perception based on that you say the food should be ok. Ha! I was completely wrong, don't ever judge a book by its cover. Food quality went downhill. The first couple times when we visited the past few years food was amazing and we were so happy because we love lo mein. We continue visiting and found that the lo mein or fried rice has been lack of flavor no matter what sauce choice we picked, meat is also been lacking no matter what meat choice. We still keep visiting today, but really the sauce is just all oil grease, I appreciate low sodium diet but not like this bland. The cooking staffs didn't look like they like their job either! I hadn't been in a while and did frequent this location when I first moved back to the Sparks area. With my last pregnancy, I craved Asian cuisine and Mexican food. It was convenient and easy and not too far from home, so I would like to visit. Service was fairly quick and loved how fresh the food was. They deliver for a small fee if you live nearby. With this area growing with more dining options, I forgot they were here. The dining room still resembles the restaurant here beforehand before the name changes. We went to MB Grill (Mongolian BBQ) in Sparks for dinner last night and were very disappointed in the quality of the food. The beef and chicken were extremely low quality, and to our surprise, they even added sliced hot dogs to our meal. The restaurant was nearly empty, which unfortunately made sense once we saw the overall condition and quality. To make things worse, when they bused our table, the staff placed our dirty dishes in a container right in the dining area instead of taking them back to the kitchen--very unappetizing and unprofessional. I was use to the old style of Mongolian BBQ, where you added your own veggies, protein, spices and sauces. Here you pick your bowl and what you want in it off a piece of paper. The food was okay and came out on a styrofoam plate, which I thought was odd for dining in. My husband was glad with his selection of food and mine was just okay. I have never seen rectangular slices of water chestnuts and they were kind of stalky and not like the crunchy circles pieces I am use to. The service was good as were the pot stickers. There was an odd chemical smell to the restaurant, which threw off my taste buds. I found it odd that by the restrooms they were selling press on nails and fake eye lashes. read more

We were greeted and guided to our table and were able to take a nice look at the decor and overall feel of the restaurant. It seems in not a too distant past it may have served typical Mongolian BBQ were you get a bowl, select your toppings and take it to the grill to be cooked in front of you but I suspect COVID may have changed the way they do business and just didn't go back to it and it works. You have a sheet with the toppings, select and give to your server and they will bring out the dish all cooked and ready to enjoy. I like it this way.
