Not bad for a seafood restaurant in the middle of Greenwood, Indiana. The Bang Bang Shrimp, which was an appetizer was the main attraction. My wife got the crab crusted cod, she said it was a good piece of fish but kind of bland. The side dishes were very good. I got the fish and chips, and I would give them a 6.5/10. They were piping hot which was nice but got soggy very quickly. The piece of fish itself was almost too large so it just started to fall apart. The malt vinegar should have been on the side, rather than put on before plating. Other than that, the dining room was nice and the service was good. Would go back and try other things. read more

This is our Sunday lunch go to. For starters the crab cakes are phenomenal!! Warm bread service with oil and pesto. Then we usually split a house salad with is excellent. Split for finale grilled shrimp and scallop combo I know your mouth is watering (mine is too!) Their bloody Mary's are fantastic I get mine a little spicy !! My Uncle recommended this restaurant one day after a graduation & I've always heard good things. We were greeted immediately when we got there & didn't have to wait at all. We got there around 5:00 on a Sunday so they were only moderately busy anyways. Now the service we had was phenomenal! Our waitress knew every bit of the menu & answered all of our questions since it was our first time. I wish I remembered her name because she's half the reason the experience was great. The food we had was amazing. There bread for a starter was so good (I was warned by my sister in law that it was a hit)! We ended up starting off with their bacon wrapped scallops with a mango salsa on top. It was a special then so I'm not sure if they have it anymore but if they do when you're there... definitely give it a try! For my entree I got the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos & OMG I LOVED them. I recently went to Bonefish Grill to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. It had been a few years since I had been to the location on 82nd St (which was incredible) and it was my first time visiting the location in Greenwood. I was disappointed. The gal who helped us was unenthusiastic, awkward and hard to hear. The watermelon martini was watered down and a little sour. One of our glasses did have a chip in it and the waitress did replace the drink at no extra charge; which was nice. Bonefish is probably one of your best options if you're looking for properly cooked fish on the south side. Why three stars then? Absolutely go if you're eating in. 5 stars for in-restaurant service. Skip Bonefish altogether is you're carrying out. 1 star for carry out. Hence, three stars. My in-restaurant experiences have always been good. Of course, the Bang Bang Shrimp is always a hit as an appetizer. They also have a delicious house salad with a unique dressing that I really enjoy. For my meal, I usually stick with the salmon cooked pan Asian style with broccoli and rice. If they have the Saigon sea scallops and shrimp while you're in, it's delicious. Portions are good and the staff is usually helpful. I've ordered carry out twice in the past month or two and both times have been major let downs. Both times, I've ordered the Saigon sea scallops and shrimp, which comes mixed in with noodles and sauce, and both times, I've been left searching for even one drop of sauce (or flavor). Interestingly enough, both times I've also been having dinner with someone else and they got the same thing and theirs has been totally dry as well, so I know it isn't some kind of mistake just on mine. This dish is so excellent in-restaurant, so it's a huge let down to get hyped for it at home (and spend that much money on dinner) and then it have little to no taste. I've been let down one too many times, so I'm not sure if I'll be coming back any time soon. I'd love to, but I don't want to waste my money on bland food when I could go elsewhere. What a wonderful menu with many tantalizing choices -- from steak, to chicken, to various select choices of fish and seafood. The sides were freshly prepared and seasoned perfectly. The warm, freshly baked sliced bread served along with oil and pesto was served as soon as our drinks were delivered to our table. Solid choice on Southside for seafood. It's a chain so the mass produced factor of the food on some days is more apparent than others. We have been eating Bonefish for years. Service is always great. Portions have gotten smaller in the past 5 years. Quality can be up and down but it was pretty good during our last visit. The food was really good, I had a special that night of salmon topped with crab meat and spinach and stuff and was delicious. but the cocktail menu was a little weird, and I don't think they served them right. I had a Manhattan served in a martini glass with no ice when I didn't ask for it with no ice. And the cocktails themselves were nothing special, and a bit expensive. Always a good meal....we had Mussel bar bites, Fish &Chips, and the Fish Tacos. One of our orders was incorrect and the French fries were not the usual crispy that we are accustomed to, but they brought us out the correct order within a short amount of time and also a fresh plate of fries to make it right! Went for a birthday dinner for two of our family on a Tuesday. Place was pretty slow, so expected faster service. Food is ok. Mine was not really hot but was too hungry to make a big deal of it. Calamari was so covered in seasoned salt that I didn't eat more than one piece ( kids did not care, lol) we were given two free desserts which was nice, but the flourless brownie was not very good. Hard in some spots, undercooked in others. Service was pretty good, ambiance is nice. I think the cook was spending too much time visiting in the dining room though, which could have affected to food being slow to come out and not very hot. Probably won't go back. read more

The service is very hit or miss here. Today, it was MISS. I know that servers hate the table that does the trinity of small total bill: (1) only order water to drink, (2) use a coupon, (3) and split an entree. I have never had a bad meal here. The Caesar salad was a bit wilty (I forgot to order dressing on the side and I think my predressed salad had been waiting awhile for me to arrive). The filet mignon was calling my name, but I had to go for more seafood. We had a really good experience here and our server was awesome. I believe his name was Chris, but he looked like Jason Lee and he might need to be my next ex-husband. Just sayin'. We started with a bunch of appetizers, including the famous bang bang shrimp. Also go the mussels and calamari. All very good. Entrees were enjoyed and we tried a couple of the specials for the night. We managed to finish with dessert, which seem to be really hit or miss here. My creme brulee was more of a pudding and the bruleed top was almost nonexistent. The donuts were also not great. However, the key lime pie is a real win. Just stick with that. read more

Certain 'upscale' chain restaurants really need to remain consistent, but there always seems to be the usual 'pita' issues. 1. The food is usually overpriced. 2. The quality of the food is generally mass produced and average at best in quality and taste. We were seated at a table at the backside wall of the restaurant, so the atmosphere was not as pleasant. Our server was very amateur and a bit impersonal. He really didn't give much attention at all to our table. We just felt invisible and basically like an after thought. It seemed like maybe he was juggling too many tables and couldn't keep up? Even though the atmosphere is put together like it's a bit more plush and relaxing like many other similar restaurants, it still seemed like a run and gun dining experience - aka - a hurry up and eat and get out situation. The lightening quick arrival of our food to the table was the first clue. When there is barely enough time to breathe in between the appetizer and the main course, it gets annoying. Food rated on a ten scale: The house warm / fresh bread and oil dip - 8 Appetizers: Beef potstickers - 8 Coconut shrimp - 7 - the very thick crusty coconut coating overwhelmed the shrimp a bit. Cod dinner - 6 - It didn't taste as fresh and flaky as it should have. Chicken dinner -6 - It was basically not hot enough and the cheese on top of the chicken filet tasted cold and congealed. It was average in taste and barely seasoned. The sides: The jasmine rice and spinach were fairly bland in flavor. The scalloped cheesy potatoes were just OK. All rated a - 6. The appetizers were much warmer than the main course meals. I waited a very long time to finally try this place, and I can say that I am in no hurry to go back. The Yelp two-star rating for menu prices will fool you - this is certainly a three-star menu kind of place. Appetizers around $20, entrees cost more on average than Olive Garden for about $15. Their brunch menu isn't bad with items at $9-$14. I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp ($9). as an appetizer. It comes on a little mountain of breaded and sauced shrimp. They say it's a bit spicy, but not really (a slight aftertaste of spice that is enough to require a sip of water). You get maybe 15-20 small shrimp. It's tasty. But it is also quite sauced and a bit too much at times. Definitely share with people. I got the Lily's Chicken ($15) as an entree. Grilled chicken with the following items on top: spinach, large pieces of goat cheese. On the side: artichoke hearts. All with a lemon basil sauce. You get to select two sides (get the mashed potatoes!). So, this dish really was tasty. And after just a few shrimp and the bread they brought out I had a lot of leftovers. I will say, it is not an elaborate dish and not worth the price. It can be easily replicated. There as nothing striking about the chicken and since the toppings merely sat there, nothing special about that either. In the future I would choose a more complex dish to really feel this restaurant deserves to charge such a large cost. However, the mix of everything with the chicken (especially the goat cheese) is a great combo. The $5 mimosa for brunch was in a small champagne glass. Not worth it, friends. But it was happy to have. Good customer service. When you say thank you, each time the two bartenders kept saying "it's my pleasure." Cute. Only three stars because while it was good, there was nothing really special about it. I took my son here for his 22nd birthday. He loved his meal, I had gotten the stuffed cod and it was very, very salty, the green beans were on the harder side, but it was okay.
