The interior is very cool, albeit not large maybe 50-75 people... fine by me Our server was friendly and kept things moving while taking queues that we were not in a hurry. They have a decent bourbon selection with some local options and a couple somewhat hard to find items. The cocktails we had were very good. My wife loved the lemon cello old fashion. I really enjoyed the ilegal old fashion. Food was solid overall with the meatballs and polenta as well as the dill pickle smash burger. Certainly had the dill pickle flavor but not overpowering. I have to start off by saying the warm butter cake with ice cream is DELICIOUS!!! It had a berry sauce you could drizzle over it, but it didn't need it. It was that good. This restaurant has been open since around Veterans Day is what the waitress said. It's right off the square in Franklin. It's really nice inside. Leather seats, nice bar area, industrial looking. Great aesthetics. It started getting busy when we were there. Prom time and high schoolers with their tuxes and prom dresses were coming in to enjoy a great meal! The food was really good the French onion dip - yum! The chicken Parmesan came out piping hot and I loved the pasta with the great garlic taste. The chicken was a huge piece of chicken. Delicious! I was immediately impressed with the pleasant decor, cloth napkins, subtle lighting, suede bound menu, and black silverware. Five ladies with reservations and we were promptly seated on a busy Friday night. Our waitress appeared as soon as we sat down. A carafe of water was on the table and the water glasses were already filled. First, we shared the Ricotta & Honeycomb appetizer, toasted ciabatta bread rounds with whipped ricotta and a honeycomb spread. It was unique and tasty. I ordered steak frites for my entree. The presentation would have been more pleasing if the steak was cut into strips. The fries were barely warm. There was no chimichurri sauce. My friends had the French Dip, the Chicken Parmesan, the Smash Burger, and the Meatballs and Polenta. We all agreed that our meals were delicious, with the common complaint being that the food was not hot enough. For dessert we shared the Salted Chocolate Brownie, served with vanilla bean gelato and kahlua fudge. It was divine and a perfect ending. Our waitress appeared to collect our plates and we mentioned that we enjoyed our food, but the temperature of all the dishes were not what we expected. The manager came by shortly after and apologized. We assured her that the meals were delicious but could have been warmer. She was very pleasant and offered to remove the dessert from the bill. We gratefully accepted. However, the dessert was left on the bill and my friend decided to pay for it anyway. As the restaurant has only been open a few months, we were graciously forgiving with the food temperatures and plan to return. The Foundry is in the former Jefferson St Pub building. Parking in the area is limited. Reservations suggested. Further suggestion to restaurant: It's nice that you box the customer's food to take home, and would be even nicer if you would include all the leftovers on the plate. read more

This is a rather small, quaint restaurant with a pretty large bar area. We had reservations for eight of us and we're promptly seated. Our server was tremendous. He answered all of our questions and made recommendations. My wife and I split the grouper dinner along with two other couples. I cannot stress enough, how delicious the grouper was it. It was quite possibly the best seafood dish that I've had in a long long time. I would highly recommend it. another person had the spare ribs which he said was delicious. We also had chicken wings as an appetizer. Several of us really liked them. They had it kind of a kick to them, however, there were a couple that did not care for them. The zucchini strings for an appetizer was also very good. All in all, great Service, quaint cozy atmosphere, food that was absolutely stunning and delicious. The atmosphere at The Foundry Gastropub was genuinely great, cool vibe, nice space, and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the food just did not live up to the hype for us. Absolutely zero flavor in everything but their salad dressings, which were top notch. We started with the duck fries, which sounded amazing in theory, but they were soggy and surprisingly bland. The ranch was honestly the only thing that was good. We also ordered the Paccheri Alla Vodka. The pasta itself was good, but the sauce tasted slightly burnt and lacked the rich flavor you'd expect from a vodka sauce. The biggest disappointment was the chicken Parmesan. It had almost no seasoning or flavor at all. Not bad because it was overly bold, bad because it tasted like nothing. Ironically, the only thing our table really enjoyed was the Little House salad, but for $11, the portion size was tiny. We left genuinely confused by the glowing reviews. Maybe people are getting enough cocktails to stop noticing the food, or maybe we just caught them on an off night. Either way, the atmosphere carried the experience far more than the kitchen did. This would get at 10 out of five if it were possible! The place itself was a beautiful older building downtown Franklin. Perfectly lit for the mood. Service was beyond outstanding with Alex as our bartender and educator on her expertise of mixology. We had two appetizers, the ricottas and honey as well as the zucchini fries both were out of this world amazing. The owner even took time out of his busy night to speak to us. Can't recommend this restaurant enough! There wasn't a menu item we tried that we didn't like. And the menu was filled with options that we can't wait to go back for. I had the lobster roll and my wife had the short rib. The desert was delicious, butter cake and fudge brownie. The drinks were very well done, Basil Sprout and Old Fashioned. We by chance stumbled upon this place while out for a ride. The menu looked interesting so decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Nice ambience, lots of brick, pretty wood bar with tin ceiling. The spinach artichoke dip is wonderful. So wonderful in fact I bumped my drink onto the stone floor and it shattered everywhere. So embarrassing. Everyone was so kind and gracious and comped me a fresh drink. This was a Ketal One martini I had taken two sips from, so much appreciated. Anyway, my husband and I both got the fish and chips. The cod was cooked perfectly. Flakey on the inside and golden brown crispy on the outside. The tartar sauce was incredible. Usually an afterthought, it is made fresh in-house. Fresh cut fries and the apple-fennel slaw the perfect foil. Service was attentive and informative. Two thumbs up, we will be back. read more

The food was great. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip which was awesome (the Parmesan strips were amazing). I had the short ribs and my wife had the southern fried chicken sandwich. Mine was outstanding and hers was huge and tasty! We topped it off with the butter cake dessert. It was very rich (not my thing personally but was really good for what it is) The service was great and the manager swung by a couple of times to check on us. My only critique was no coffee being available, however, they already have that coming very soon (and French press no less!). We will definitely be going back. New restaurant in Franklin that is located in the old Jefferson St Pub. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the food. Since this is new to the area, it is really busy so make sure you have reservations or arrive early and sit at bar. I have tried the meatball appetizer, the chips and dip, chili, and the chicken sandwich. All were excellent and there was plenty for sharing. The chili was unique as it is served with a waffle, which pairs perfectly with the chili. The meatballs were really tasty and were more than enough as a had as my meal. I loved the chips but the dip was not my favourite, not much flavor, somewhat bland. Loved the chicken sandwich! read more
