How'd I not know they did brunch before? I caught up with a long-time friend who I don't get to spend much time with. We scooted in right as they opened at 10 and somehow didn't manage to free up the table until 2:30 (Sorry, Ray, for holding the table). I'm an omelet girl, so the decision should have been an easy one. But everything on the brunch menu sounded great - especially the creme brule french toast. I went "sensible"and got the California Omelet. SO glad I did. 2 words: Yum.mee. My brunch buddy and I decided to do just one round of drinks (silly, I know) and both got the Bloody Mary. I'm glad that we decided on just one round - I might have wobbled out of there. But I'm kind of bummed because I could have spent all afternoon with more of them. The price was good. It makes me very sad to give this rating since the southside has only 2 restaurants like this. We made reservations for last Saturday and they were slammed since Stonecreek was closed for remodel. We were sat in the absolutely WORST table I have ever had. I was starring at the kitchen that was wide open (a double archway opening) there was food, plastic glove and trash all over the floor. A cabinet pilled high and over flowing with stuff... Wait staff running back and forth or and btw the extra napkins, place mats... were stored right next to us. There was a bin of trash and food on the floor. I asked for the manager and Andrew came over, BIG MISTAKE, rude condescending and smug. Proceeded to tell us about asking for a both when we call in (like I knew this one existed?) and told some obscure story about a 75 year old throwing a fit if he didn't get the booth he wanted. I told him there should at the very least be doors on the kitchen because it was disgusting to look at beyond the fact of the wait staff running back and forth and the banging in the kitchen. He agreed it was disgusting so he left our table (no apology,no trying to find a table, not offering something on the bill) which btw was over $162 w/ tip for 3 people and we got to watch the the bag of FROZEN french fries being dumped into the fryer and house salad is just a bunch of white hard pieces of romaine not the spring lettuce it used to be. Ordered Chilean Sea Bass, steamed asparagus, jasmine rice. The best part about it was the jasmine rice, bread, and herb infused olive dipping oil. The bass was just like any other bass (river, lake, etc.) except $37 more expensive and 1 lbs less portion (was about 4 ounces). Still hungry! The asparagus was less than pencil thin. The rice was, well...rice, not easy to mess that up. The bass was $41.90 before the dasher tip and fee, very small portion, and I am left very hungry! Yes, yes, chain restaurants are to be shunned. We should treat them all like Hester Prynne. Now, do we have that out of the way? Bonefish has good food, good service, and reasonable prices. All of those categories rate higher at Bonefish than many local sole prop places I've been. Let's give credit where credit is due. I am a serious lover of seafood. If it ever lived in the water, ANY type of water, I will eat it. Living in Indiana is hard for me. There are no places like those I love in New Orleans, Baltimore, or San Francisco. I'm stuck with what I can get, and Bonefish is decent for the locale. Some of their fish is garbage (the tilapia), but from time to time they will get in a fish like the Pacific Mahi that will knock your damn socks off. Oceanaire tends to get better fish and while I'm also a fan of that restaurant, the prices are higher and the location is not always as convenient. For a good mid-week dinner for under fifty bucks, it's a lot easier to hit up Bonefish. read more

Considering the name you would think there would have been more of a variety of fish to choose from. Really didn't do anything for me! I had the Norwegian salmon which was not cooked or seasoned properly with bits of the grey from the skin still attached. Normally do not care for this elsewhere so no big surprise. My man ate his lamb chops which came out bloody red after asking for them to be cooked 3/4 but was not enjoyable for me to watch. Never got the salad I ordered. Service was apathetic at best (same as the host stand). Had an issue with my bill that most would not have mentioned (obviously to my benefit) and asked server to correct it 2 times. I did call and notify the management today of the situation which I am sure will be rectified. On a positive, the coconut pie was pretty good! read more

I had the daily special of Day Boat Scallops over creamed corn, Bacon and Jalepeno's along with a side of fresh made succatash. Every thing was cooked to perfection. I have been to Bonefish Grill in the Philadelphia PA area where fresh seafood is readily available. My concerns about fresh seafood here in the midwest were put to rest when the dinner was served. For a chain restaurant this frnchise is a cut above other seafood restaurants. Highly recommended. read more

All I can say about our last Bonefish experience is Yikes. We recently went for their Sunday brunch and the only redeeming quality is that the prices were reasonable. If you are a vegetarian do not even think of stepping in the door on a Sunday afternoon. There wasn't a single entree I could eat. Not one. I don't expect a whole menu catered to me but AN item doesn't seem like to much to ask. On top of not being able to eat anything except a side salad our waitress was atrocious. I have never experienced service that bad in my life. This woman was not qualified to work at an Ihop. She was rude, unwelcoming, condescending, and slower than a turtle on its back. We spent over an hour there just to get a side salad and an omelet. The place maybe had 8 tables in it. The only time we will be returning is when Walt is working in the bar. We still love him and the atmosphere, but never will we roll the dice with a waiter here again. For the love of god if you go do yourself a favor and sit in the bar. read more

I have always been a fan of Bonefish Grill but I'm starting to really love this location. I usually go here with a group of girls and the staff certainly knows how to take care of girls who love to eat. As much as I love the bang bang shrimp, I'm starting to love their mussels even more. For $8.99 you get a huge bowl to share. The mussels taste very fresh comparable to Brugge in Broad Ripple, but the broth here is quite amazing. The broth is so rich and buttery and so darn addicting, we kept asking for more bread so we can soak up every last drop. We usually have to order 2-3 order of mussels, it is that good y'all! The sea bass is always my top choice for dinner. It's so moist and buttery, and they seasoned it so perfectly that I don't really need any extra sauce on top. Within the last 5 days, we have dined at this location three times and all three times the food were delicious! The only negative thing, and I'm really nitpicking here, are the sides can be a tad salty at times. I highly recommend this place and I would be glad to dine here again and again. read more

I have been driving by this place for months, and never really thought much of it. Finally our Neighbors convinced me to give this place a try, and boy was I impressed! I took my wife there last night for an Early Valentine's dinner, and it was above and beyond what I expected! The place was very nice, the wait staff, although extremely busy, was very attentive, even the managers were making rounds to make sure, all the guests were taken care of! Appetizers: Bang Bang Shrimp Pan seared Tuna Sashimi The Shrimp were out of this world! I can't say enough good things about these bad boys! The tuna on the other hand, I did not like, It was pan seared, covered in sesame seeds, and had some sauce, that I did not think agreed with it, and over powered the taste of the tuna. My wife on the other hand, was happy to eat all the sashimi herself, so I am thinking it was more a personal taste issue, than a problem with the dish. Main Course: Imperial Wolf fish Mussels Josephine My wife had the Fish, and it came in a cream sauce, with shell fish. It was so good, my wife almost forgot to offer me a taste, until I reminded her. The fish was cooked to perfection, not over cooked or dry, and the cream sauce definitely complimented it. I had the Mussels as a main course, although they are technically an appetizer, And these are by far the best mussels I have had in a long long time. They were cooked to absolute perfection, and the sauce, was just out of this world! It was good enough to eat with a spoon, or soak up with their fresh bread! It was too good to just let sit there! My husband and I have been trying to limit our eating out just a bit lately. Admittedly, it makes it easier to eat at home when it's obscenely cold outside. We just want to cuddle up and make a frozen pizza. The other night we decided to reward ourselves for eating in for most of the week. We decided to head to Bonefish because my husband was craving some seafood. We arrived at about 8 p.m. and expected a decently long wait, but we were seated right away. By the luck of the draw, our waiter ended up being a friend of ours, so the service, naturally, was impeccable. (Though honestly the service is always quite good at Bonefish). The interior of the restaurant is cozy and warm feeling with low lighting (but not so low that you can't read your menu or see your dinner companion across the table). It feels more like fine dining than say Olive Garden, or Outback, both of which have menus that feature comparable prices. My husband and I both ordered a different appetizer to share. He ordered the ceviche and I ordered the ahi tuna sashimi. Both appetizers were awesome. We've also had one of their more famous appetizers, the Bang Bang Shrimp, on a previous trip. It is also delicious and I recommend it highly. After the entrees, we received our salads. We had both ordered house salads which were mixed greens topped with kalamata olives and tomatoes with a citrus herb vinaigrette. It was topped with pine nuts and for a little extra, you could get feta or blue cheese on top. My husband got the blue cheese and was smugly happy about it. Next came our entrees. I opted to get the Fontina Chop, while my husband got the Wolf Fish Special. I got green beans and garlic potatoes with my entree and my husband got their seasonable veggies (spaghetti squash). We were both really happy with our entrees, but I think I "won". The sauce on my pork chop was fantastic, and sooooo tasty. By the end of the meal, we were both stuffed and not able to finish our entrees, let alone get dessert. The bill for our meal (two appetizers, salads, entrees, a soda for myself, and a Hendricks Martini for my husband) came to right under 70 dollars. With the quality of the food, it was definitely an awesome value, and we left feeling good about our choice to dine there. If you like seafood, you should definitely check out Bonefish Grill... But even if you don't... Give it a shot. There's more to Bonefish than just their delicious seafood. I promise. read more

Three of use ate dinner there on 11/15/16. Atmosphere: Very nice! On tap: poor selection... I guess I would advise not to go here for the beer. Appetizer: Ceviche... excellent!! Cod Picatta ... Good! Steamed Green Beans... poor... very crunchy and had funny after taste. Cole slaw: Very good... it is a light cole slaw with subtle flavor that is nice. Not drenched in a sauce. Chicken with Artichoke and goat cheese: Excellent!! House salad... fair... lettuce seemed a little old. Wedge salad... poor... lettuce quality was poor. Lots of yellow lettuce. This was the first time we have ate at this restaurant. I ordered the cod meal and my wife ordered the fish and chips. My portion of fish was so small it only took a few bites to eat it. For the price i paid for this meal there should have been a larger serving. My wife's fish had a funny taste like it had been freezer burnt. We told the server and she just said "0hh" and that was the only response! When we were finished the server asked if we wanted a box to take the nasty tasting fish home that we had already told her did not taste good at all! WOW!!! what a slap in the face! Over the weekend we went here after not having been to this location some 4+ years, but it is highly unlikely we will return in the future. For first comments, the wait staff is very young and do not really know how to serve. We suggest using trays instead of carrying drinks in hands to the table. Plus, we do not feel they adequately explained the sides for the entrees and the hidden charges for some and not others. Consumer beware, all the sides add up quickly and are deceiving when you actually receive your bill. Other comments would be how long the food took and there was no offer of additional bread to the table since there were 4 of us and some ordered soup as an app with no bread left at that point. I've actually been here several times but tonight just now decided to review it based on our dinner. When my husband and I come here it is usually on a Friday. Sometimes we bring our kids. They enioy coloring on the paper table cloths. There's never a long wait which is great. Tonight though it was just my husband and I. We had the bang bang shrimp as our appetizer which we always get. We can't even consider comong here without getting it. It's amazing. What brought me in tonight was the fact they rolled out their fall menu and I just had to try the pumpkin ravioli. It was really good. I have to say I HAVE had better pumpkin ravioli elsewhere but this was still delish. I also had the sea bass and that was really really good. My husband had lobster tail and potatoes. He enjoyed it. I don't think he was blown away though. Lastly we had the brownie dessert which was to die for. If you're in search of a seafood restaurant that's more upscale than Red Lobster but not quite at the level of sophistication as The Oceanaire, then check out Bonefish. Bang Bang Shrimp is a great starter (though my husband and I prefer Fireside Brewhouse's version). The bread is good too, and if you go for a salad too, you won't even have room for the entree. Last time I went, I made this mistake so I didn't get to fully enjoy grilled scallops and shrimp. That being said, they were still quite tasty and I had enough left over to eat for lunch the following day. I'd advise against the sides I ordered though- the au gratin potatoes and mixed veggies (zucchini and yellow squash in a tomato sauce) weren't all that great, but it wouldn't deter me from returning to Bonefish. I would just opt for different sides. Seafood options are pretty limited in Indy, so if you're a fish fan, give Bonefish a try. They also offer plenty of steak and chicken options if fish isn't your thing... read more

Went to Bonefish Grill for a birthday celebration dinner with my parents this past weekend. Finding a place my mom will eat more than 'just veggies' is hard. She's not a vegetarian, but might as well be. As far as meat goes she pretty much only eats fish. Occasionally (maybe a couple times a year) she'll eat pot roast. Anyway, mom's picky eating habits were satisfied here. The salmon filled her up and she had leftovers. My dad went with the fish and chips, which he said was very good. My husband had a steak, again very good and cooked perfectly. I had shrimp and scallops. The portion size was pretty small for the price, but the shrimp was cooked to perfection and the scallops were some of the best I've ever had. Very fresh and tender. The succotash and summer tomatoes I had as a side were also really good. We had the edamame for an appetizer. It was very tasty. The beans were plump and tender and the pods were lightly salted. Overall it was a nice experience and I'm likely to give them another try. read more

Let me say this is our second visit in two months and we came tonight for my sisters birthday. Two months ago it was clear things were not the same, starting with the Corn Crab Chowder recipe changing and not being good. Tonight they hit a new low, we had a 7:00 reservation and were sat at 7:30. Our appetizers were the Bang Bang Shrimp which was good as always, tuna, the mussels which are always good, but had about half dozen closed and were worse I ever had(they did take off the ticket), all of our plates including the three appetizers sat at our table and we had to ask them to take them when they were serving our dinner. During this time about six servers had been standing by the kitchen including the two managers for about 15 minutes in clear view of our table. My sister and myself had the lobster tails, the butter looked off so we asked and they said oh that is lemon butter not clarified butter not sure why you got that. My other friend ordered the shrimp and scallops dish, she noticed it was only shrimp so when she asked they said oh we are out of bay scallops but we can make you other scallops...should have been stated when ordered. A manager, I believe name is Brett brought the scallops out after we were all done eating and my friend let the manager know she didn't want them and said the whole table had a poor experience, he did nor said nothing. They ended up sending a new server in the middle of this who was great, I unfortunately didn't catch her name. She brought us free desserts as well. We asked who the manager was and we were told it was Brett in the green shirt the same who brought the late scallops, we asked that he come to our table...15 minutes later a woman came stating she was the manager. She apologized and offered us free dinners next time we came...we declined. We will not be back and this is after being a customer for years. A really great restaurant with a lot of hits. Their bread and dip is amazing and my family always ends up with some to go. Bonefish Grill's Bang-Bang shrimp is amazing - way better than all the copies at other restaurants - and when you get it in a taco, you have peaked as a human.
