The black cherry old fashioned is one of the best old fashioned's I've ever had, and if you're any fan of cherry this is a must try. I make my old fashioned's at home like these now. They are sublime. Did I mention they are $8 for happy hour? $8. Chipotle is more expensive. Let me not get too excited.... The service here is incredibly friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. Door staff and wait staff were both excellent. NY strip steak was hearty and meaty. Will have to try the ribeye at a later time. The onion straws were a nice touch and complimented it well. I ordered the domestic mushrooms to pair with it. Came out buttery and with a touch of wine. Perfect. A lot of people talk about the steakhouse down the street, and rightfully so. But there are other diamonds in the rough in Indy, and Hyde Park is one of them. read more

My wife and I celebrated our 21st anniversary here tonight, and from the moment we walked in, the experience felt intentional, thoughtful, and dialed in. She arrived before me and had her heart set on a booth. One wasn't immediately available, so instead of a shrug or a wait, they seated her at the bar with a cocktail while they prepped one for us. That small move set the tone: we see you, and we've got you. Once seated, our server was absolutely on point--warm, confident, and with a masterful command of the menu and specials. He didn't just explain dishes; he built anticipation for the meal ahead. Mission accomplished. Cocktails were excellent. My wife ordered the Cosmopolitan--clean, balanced, and classy. I went with the Old Fashioned--smoky, smooth, and the kind of drink you're still thinking about halfway through the entrée. We started with the Caesar salad and French onion soup. The salad was crisp and fresh with perfect house-made croutons. The onion soup arrived piping hot, deeply savory, and comforting in all the right ways. But let's be honest--Hyde Park is famous for a reason: the steaks. We both ordered the filet. My wife went Reggie Wayne style. I had mine Miller style, topped with asparagus and lobster. Both steaks were cooked flawlessly--tender, beautifully pink, easy to cut, and packed with flavor. The sauces complemented the beef without stealing the spotlight, which is exactly how it should be. For sides, we shared the au gratin potatoes and flash-fried Brussels sprouts with bacon jam. And listen... once you say "bacon jam," the conversation is already over. These were outstanding. Throughout the meal, we kept looking at each other with that "are you kidding me right now?" look. You know the one. My husband and I got to visit Hyde Park for the first time to celebrate our anniversary last month. It was quiet when we walked in, but the musicians set up and they were great ! We were greeted with a card signed by the employees, which was such a nice touch! We have 3 servers working in our section, and each one of them came over at different times introducing themselves. The sides were good, but didn't wow us. The highlight of the night was the campfire s'more dessert. There was a strong smokiness to it that really caught us off guard initially, but we both enjoyed it. As I was first to arrive, I sat at the bar and ordered a drink until the rest of my party arrived. I ordered the white pear cocktail and it was delicious and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. Ambiance in the restaurant is coz but we'll lit and welcoming. Once seated at our table, we ordered some appetizers. I got the crab cake which was delicious. One of my companions got the lobster bisque and the other got the lobster escargot style. I got to try the lobster appetizer and it was divine and the lobster bisque got a thumbs up as well. For the entree I got the filet mignon which came with the sprained crispy potatoes. The other got the Reggie Miller steak and we split the millionaires potatoes. Tried the Wayne & Miller steaks along with the sautéed asparagus, gratin potatoes, spinach & mushrooms, baked potato, lobster bisque soup and baked onion soup. And dessert was a butter cake. Was a bit disappointed with both steaks. IMO neither held up to the name compared to other steakhouses in the area. The sides were just okay. Ended up sending back the baked potato due to it not being hot when it came out. The gratin potatoes were indeed a hit!! They were full of flavor, baked event throughout and came out hot. Out of the two soups, the baked onion soup was by far the best I've had to date. For that alone, I would go back. From the service received from the moment I walked through the door, to being seated & served, the service was amazing!!! This too is another reason why I would return. But the highlight was the live music from Brian Kelly & his brother. It made me feel like I was at an upscale lounge somewhere other than downtown Indy. Had dinner there tonight. It took 2 hours to get our entrees. We did order apps, but it still shouldn't take that long at all. The table that was sat next to us 30 min after us got their food 30-40 min before us. Kind of ridiculous. The manager came by and said there was a big order in front of us. This was the place to be on New Year's Eve! My daughter took me to dinner so we could ring in the new year properly, and neither of us had been here before. The ambience was amazing. The meats were à la la la cart much like Ruth Chris, but I enjoyed this experience much more than I have at that location. We start off with an appetizer of calamari, which was delicious and good sizes. I also like that they give you various pieces of calamari beyond the circles because those other pieces are my favorite. Then we shared a mix salad, which was delicious I don't really know how to tell you what the flavor was but it was all chopped very fine, and the dressing was , awesome it was very light and flavorful and full of crunch. Then we each had a steak I just had the ribeye special I ordered medium rare and it came out beautifully cooked and tender. I am of the opinion if the steak is a good cut and it's cooked well you do not need anything to accompany that, as far as sauces go. We also shared the au gratin potatoes, which were also delicious and everything arrived warm and the potatoes were hot and delicious at the end. My daughter had a petite fillet, and she very much enjoyed hers as well. We stayed longer than the note on the table, said we were supposed to because it was busy and it did take some time to get our order out, our waitress was amazing and she was very attentive and came back-and-forth to a table. But I have to say every staff member really helps every customer because as soon as we finished a bread plate or our salad plate, somebody came by and picked it up, even if it wasn't our waitress and our drinks were topped up often. it was an amazing dinner a great way to start the new year and I would definitely return. read more

I came to Hyde park before Covid and it closed for a long time and reopened with a different menu and had been interested in retrying it. We went for a birthday dinner and had such a great experience! Service never lacked and the environment was cozy but lively. I got the steak miller and it was the perfect size and flavor, wanting to go back, it's going to be hard not to reorder this. The potatoes Gruyère was definitely going to be on the list of worthiness of reordering, the Brussel sprouts is a no for me because they were really big and soft/sauteed and I'm more of a crispy textured person. The dessert was phenomal, unique from other restaurant menu. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dessert menu again. Loved their unique cocktails they have!
