They were one of my favorite restaurants for many years until the quality of their food changed , the portions continued to get smaller & the prices increased throughout the years. Down and dirty: Delicious drinks, decent entree/apps and good service. Food: I ordered the cod imperial with brown and rice. The cod was delicious and would definitely recommend. The rice was cold and a little undercooked. The broccoli was cold and not steamed to my liking and also lacked any seasoning. Drinks: I got the apple spice martini. Tasted like I was drinking an apple pie. Delicious Service: friendly staff and was quick to get sat. Food came our timely. Waitress wasn't very attentive so had to make sure when she did come to the table that I asked for anything I needed and not for the next time she comes, even if I didn't need it right then. Sometimes a restaurant gets looked down a bit when it's part of a chain. Sometimes a chain restaurant sets itself apart in making it special destination. The Bonefish in Mandarin does just that every time I visit. I recently tried the Bonefish Signature Pasta with Salmon . It was outstanding. Linguine with red pepper and artichoke in a creamy Creole sauce. Everything about the pasta was quite delicious. Then... the salmon I chose was an absolutely beautiful and plentiful cut. I could not have been more pleased with this dish. It also had a nice grilled lemon to add even more flavor to the dish. I found the Cajun seasoning to be very flavorful without be overpowering. Now I often eat at the bar when dining alone. When I do I usually have Janet serving me. She is one of the top bartenders in town by any measure. The Chopin slightly dirty martini with bleu cheese olives is always perfect in how it is crafted. If you like bleu cheese stuffed olives in your martini, these are some of the best in town. I had a Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc with dinner. This delight from New Zealand is one you must try. It's awesome. They had a special Key Lime cake which twisted my arm. Spectacular serving and flavor. Combined with an espresso the night was ending perfectly. So back to the beginning comment... when I come to this location I truly experience one of the best seafood restaurants in town. There are others that provide great experiences too as Jacksonville is blessed with great seafood offerings. I have dined at Bonefish before and while not outstanding it was at least acceptable. Last night on February 7th the meal, the service and actually the entire experience was horrible. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation and everything went downhill from there. We were served the bread tray but no silverware or bread plates. Finally the server brought the bottle of wine and it must have been the first wine bottle he ever opened as he mangled the foil and could not remove the cork after half destroying it and he finally Bally took the bottle to the bar to have a bartender open. Finally ordered dinner and it took forever for our entrees to come out. I had ordered a steak medium temperature and what was served was literally devoid of any juice and was so overdone that it was difficult to cut. I finally flagged down the server and he did offer to have another steak prepared but it was now so late I declined the offer. My wife's entree was only average and she mentioned the cheese overpowered the protein. We were seated for over two hours between ordering and getting our meals and service was horrendous. Not one time did we see a manager in the dining room nor after when we told the server about the overcooked steak. Probably will not be back. Bonefish leaves me feeling ambivalent. I've been there numerous times and as is my habit I don't review a place on one visit. (Unless there's flys in the mash potatoes or something like that). Food is generally good with some exceptions. My MAHI MAHI was overcooked but passable. The steak was tasty and the callamari was tender but too salty. So it's a bit hit or miss. No condiments on the table so you have to ask for a teeny cup of your choice. The key lime pie was great so the ending went well. Then the bill showed up. We spent well over a C note for an appetizer, a 7 oz steak, a smallish piece of fish and one piece of Key Lime Pie. No alcohol. Service was good and our waitress was attentive. This location is in a strip mall but they've done a good job of minimizing that effect. It was a clean, nice and peaceful place. So back to my first statement. I've always felt they were overpriced for what they offer but the food isn't too bad in most cases. I'll probably be back but it won't be a regular stop. read more

I have been to the Bonefish Grill a few times, but this is my first time to this location. I like the ambiance because it was clean, classy, and my type of "sit down" place. I forgot to take some pics of the appetizers, however we ordered some roasted Brussel sprouts and and the seafood dip. Both appetizers were delicious, but as usual caused us to be mostly full before dinner. The appetizer size was good. My brother-in-law ordered some corn chowder to go along with his fish tacos, as he didn't want fries. He indicated that the corn chowder was very good. The fish tacos he said was ok; he's a bit of a stickler looking for corn tortillas only. He also wanted some pickled jalapeños but they didn't have any. My wife had the mango salsa Mahi Mahi. She thought it was OK, but felt that her fish was a frozen Sysco. My sister-in-law had a sirloin and potato; she doesn't have a taste for seafood and wants her steak like a hockey puck. I ordered the steak and crab cake. I upgraded my steak to the fillet. It was tasty, but very small. The crab cake specifically was very small for the price. I ordered through the group and event division of Bonefish Grill - Mandarin for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The unique thing about this is that I am based in Rhode Island and the rehearsal was going to be in St. Augustine. Amy Edewaard was just so helpful in planning the menu and the amounts of food, it made things so easy. On the day of the event, the staff delivered the food and set everything up just perfectly. All of the guests raved about the food and how everything was so delicious. The food was cooked perfectly and didn't dry out and stayed fresh and delicious for the entire rehearsal. We even used the leftovers the next day for the groomsmen and bridesmaids for a lunch before the wedding. I would recommend this business to anyone who is planning an event. read more

Online ordering was easy. Payment was convenient. I paid online but there is an option to pay when you arrive. I don't think it took them 5 minutes to bring my food out when I arrived. The kids even ate their food and they have been pretty picky lately. I got my middle chicken nuggets and fries. I got my baby mac n Cheese and fries... I was a bit confused on the side ordering. He had personality, he had jokes, he had skills, and he was always everywhere. I had Asian noodles which were OK, the plate was quite small considering it was like $16. I think it came with four or five shrimp. The bang bang shrimp were really tasty. Hot and crisp and the sauce was right on point. I looked at everybody else's food and it all looked quite good. The prices are pretty average. I had some drink I've never tried before with ginger in it, the waiter suggested it and it was surprisingly tasty. We tried quite a few of the specialty drinks and everyone of them was good. You don't know bonefish Grill for drinks you know what for food but turns out the drinks are Worth coming out for. I hadn't been to Bonefish Grill in a long time and at that time I thought it was small portions for a lot of money. But after a Yelp event at the one at Jacksonville Beach with the extra bonus of a $25 gift card changed my mind on how I felt about the brand. My boyfriend and I decided on a whim to try this location in Mandarin since it's closer to us. We didn't make a reservation thinking that it wouldn't be that busy. Who were we kidding? It was a Friday night so the place was hoppin' and the parking a lot was nearly full. We walked in and were greeted by the host. He took down my phone# and said we'd receive a text when a table was ready. We waited maybe less than 10 minutes when we were seated in the dining room area. Our server was very helpful. My boyfriend had never been to a Bonefish restaurant and she gave him the lowdown on what's good to eat and drink. We quenched our palettes with her recommendation to the Tropic Heat Martini (vodka, lemon, pineapples, mango, jalapeno) for him and for me, a glass of red wine called Villa Antinori "Super Tuscan". I've never had it before and just wanted to try it out. It's a semi-dry red wine, not sweet at all and I liked it. For apps, he got the Wagyu Beef & Ginger potstickers for us. I think these were a little underwhelming because the beef was kinda bland. He also got himself a bowl of Corn Chowder and Lump Crab. It smelled good and I only got a small bite of it as he started scarfing it down. He obviously enjoyed it a lot. Next came our entrees. I ordered the Cod Imperial (stuffed with shrimp, scallops, crabmeat, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses and lemon caper butter) with sides of broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes. I'm not a big fan on plain whitefish but all the other seafoods, butter, and cheese really enhanced the cod. Besides, those three items could possibly make any main dish better. He ordered the Georges Bank Scallops and Shrimp in a Chimichurri sauce with jasmine rice and garlic mashed potatoes as well. Came to Bonefish to try their brunch since I have heard good things. We came in on a Sunday and were seated immediately. Our server quickly came for our drink orders and we all knew what we wanted...Bottomless! I loved that you could which between Sangria, Mimosas, or Bellinis all for only $10. For $12 you could also bring Blood Marys into the mix. For the most part I stuck with Sangria's because I thought they were great. Our server also made sure to keep our drinks full as well. Now on to the food. This was the let down for me. My go to for brunch is always Shrimp N Grits and being a seafood restaurant I expected Bonefish to have a very good one. For the most part I ended up let down though. There were a lot of shrimp in the dish but they were not very big and seemed pretty over cooked. The grits also didn't have a lot of taste and I wasn't a fan of the sauce either. I tried my fiancé's Bang Bang Shrimp too and they didn't seem as good as I remember them being normally either. It was mostly empty so I got seated quickly and served very quickly. I found out that they had lost power in the afternoon, but everything was running normally when I was there. Last week the soup was just warm (should be very hot I believe), the calamari was over salty and the bread and oil which used to be a favorite of ours was bland and we didn't finish it. What a disappointment we will not be back to give them a second chance. In the past Bonefish has always been a chain we relied on when we needed a solid meal choice- this location does not live up to the quality of the brand. My margarita was about the only tolerable part of the meal. We started out with a Maryland crabcake which wasn't horrible, also ordered the potstickers which in the past at other locations I've really enjoyed this was a Moshe tasteless appetizer piled with unnecessary ingredients on top that we couldn't even eat. My husband said based on the appetizer he wasn't going to order a dinner but I was starving and didn't feel like going anywhere else so I convinced him to stay. That was a mistake. The Caesar salad was possibly the toughest Romain lettuce I've ever had - it look like Romain lettuce but the texture was more that of kale and mine was filled with sand, Super fibrous and tough and slathered with way too much salad dressing. Their wine list is abysmal, when the "interesting whites"include a Muscato and Ecco Domani that should have told us everything we needed to know. I ordered the Parmesan crusted trout which came out and was over cooked and dry . my husband ordered the grilled trout with lemon butter sauce and the same thing way over cooked. I haven't been to Bonefish Grill in years! Decided to make an online 645 reservation for our party around 5pm. When we pulled into the parking lot it was busy. Walked inside, and there was a wait at the hostess stand, the bar was packed, and the restaurant was busy. Granted it was a Saturday evening. Honestly happy to see restaurants busy after the crazy years we've had. So after a few minutes, I got to the stand, gave them my information and they were ready to seat me right away inside, but we asked to be seated outside (they have tower heaters) and the weather was amazing. Lindsay was our server. She was kind, polite, efficient and busy- but the timing of our food flowed well. We ordered appetizers (not pictured) ahi tuna poke bowl and the pan seared dumplings. YUM!
