Would give 0 stars! my best friend and I and our two daughters came in to grab some food and the rude girl with floofy hair who was just chilling in a black Chevy out front of the door yelled at us "WERE NOT SEATING ANYMORE WE CLOSE IN AAan hour! only to go orders!" Then we were looking at the menu at the to go stand and the other girl rudely said to us "ARE YALL ORDERING OR NOT?!" Needless to say we did not order and we won't be coming back. There is a real lack of professionalism and the employees are disrespectful. Will not be back based on this horrible experience! read more

Celebrated my mother-in-law-to-be's birthday with a huge party during lunch hours. Lots of parking space and easy to find on Lane Ave. Because we were such a large party, we were seated in the private room areas which were at the front of the restaurant. The staff was nice and could tell they were working really hard to accommodate everyone's orders. I ordered the "FEAST" with items cooked in the following: *Shrimp (fried) - crispy, light and seasoned well *Fish (Basa, white fish)(blackened) - good seasoning and grilled nicely *Scallops (grilled) - just very slightly overcooked, but still grilled nicely with good seasoning *Devil Crab & Oysters (already comes fried) - crab was good although seemed to have more breading than the crab itself; oysters were light and crispy *Hushpuppies - delicious and tasty *2 sides: steamed veggies & sweet potato casserole -- steamed veggies were good in butter and SPC was absolutely delicious with that perfect sweetness Overall, enjoyed the lunch with the family and great in seeing everyone. I do would like to try out their boiled menu next time. There is one feedback to address and that's the restrooms. It needs some fixing and remodeling done to ensure the restrooms are more functional. read more

We went here tonight for my birthday dinner. We both got the fried shrimp dinner. This is one of our favorite dishes here at Mr Crab Seafood. We love how all dishes are consistent and always good. I also had the New England Claim Chowder and it was really good. We definitely recommend Mr Crab Seafood. Service was fast and friendly tonight as usual. read more

At the request of my son - We decided to give this place a try. My wife, son and I arrived on a Sunday evening. Parking area was mostly empty. We rolled up and parked near the front door. Wife and I looked at each other wondering if this would be a good idea. We walked in and was seated almost immediately. Our server, can't remember her name, was great. She was nice, attentive, and super quick. We noticed more customers were starting to come in and be seated at this point. They offered complimentary bread and butter. Which was actually decent. The bread was warm and fluffy. Corn nuggets were perfectly fried and their ranch was runny, kinda like Sonny's BBQ. My wife and son got a boil bag to share. Shrimp, crawfish, green mussel with the mild "house" sauce. Their sauce is the reason for the 4-stars. The house sauce seemed watered down. Juicy, Crafty, and Big crab has this place's sauce beaten hands down. I decided to purchase a cup of the sauce to go, $3.99 for a smallish container, thinking the sauce would be legit, nope. Still looked and tasted watered down. I ordered the feast for one. Plenty of food for me. I thought the oyster, shrimp, scallop and fish was good, but crab could have used less imitation and more real crab meat. There was not a whole lot of lighting and tables were definitely dated, but that didn't bother us. If you're ever in the mood for Crystal River Seafood, but want a boil bag. I called to order a lunch special, well because it was right at 4pm, they said that I couldn't and would have to order dinner, I said, " No thank you"" and hung up. Welll How about I went to place an order today and I have been blocked!! Unbelievable l!! Well, apparently their business is doing so well they no longer need the business I give them 3 times a week. I consider Mr. Crab as one of those hole in the wall jewels of Jacksonville. It's definitely not fancy, but it's clean and comfortable and really large inside so you're not on top of another table. They even have a private room that we've used a couple of times during our family get togethers. The really great part though is the service (always friendly and helpful) and especially the food. Their fried shrimp and boom boom shrimp are absolutely delicious as is the stuffed flounder (I've had all three - not at the same time lol). It's our go to place for really good seafood. On Wednesdays their 30 piece shrimp dinner with 2 sides is $13.99. Great deal! I usually pick up one for my husband and I to split. It's a lot of food! It comes with two sides and what I appreciate is I can get a salad (not a tiny little bowl of lettuce, but a real salad) as one of the sides without a surcharge. My husband loves their sweet potato casserole too. If you like good seafood I recommend you give them a try. Great food and great service without robbing the bank. Highly recommend them. read more

We dine here quite often because the food is good and the prices can't be beat. They are usually short staffed but the servers are usually top notch. The only reason I am not giving them a 5 is because it could use a good cleaning and updating. There is always a smell when you walk in the door. read more

The food is great service is good. My mother and I went back to back weekends for Mother's Day and the following weekend. Food was amazing! I'd definitely continue to go as long as the food is fresh and service stays in tact as it has been! Only gripe if I had one would be the wait times (when seated approximately 35-40mins (I assume cooking staff is short). Nonetheless the food is top tier. read more

If I could I would give this restaurant a 0 star rating. I don't even know where to start. First walking into here I see how dirty it looks in here. When our waitress finally seated us it then 30 minutes to give us our drinks. 45 minutes to give us salads and over an hour and a half to give us our food. Food was decent was definitely not worth the wait and it is not even that crowded. The restaurant wasn't even half way filled. read more
