Made a last minute decision to check out the newest restaurant in our area. Since it was a Friday night, it was packed. However, this place isn't very big to begin with. We ended up sitting outside just so we wouldn't have to wait 45 minutes to be seated. The grouper was excellent! Flavorful and flaky. The hush puppies were good but not much flavor, like they needed some seasoning. The shrimp and grits were also delicious. We'll be back and hopefully be able to sit inside.

Half dozen parking spots in front but lot next door behind it. Open kitchen. There are 3 dining areas and some outdoor seating. Comfortable chairs in dining room. Small bar at back with 6 seats. High top tables -3- along kitchen to watch them work. Staff is friendly and service quick at lunch. Comfortable temp so don't need a sweater like some places. Frozen drink machines. So we tried the bouy basic roasted oysters with parm and garlic butter. The catch of day grouper sandwich and the mayport shrimp basket. The seafood comes fried, blackened or grilled. Everything was delicious. Grouper sandwich biggest thing piece of fish I've ever seen on a sandwich. It isn't inexpensive but seafood is very fresh

The grouper tasted fresh and delicious! I really enjoyed my food our waitress was wonderful and the atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming. I am excited to have good seafood nearby.

New restaurant in Ortega. Nestled in an old full service gas station, but very smartly remodeled for the new restaurant. When you first walk in you notice an open and clean sit down area. The service was good overall. We had an appetizer of fried okra, then main courses of shrimp basket, catfish basket and blacken grouper on a salad. Cole slaw was very good. Hush puppies good, light and fluffy. Good selection of beers and great selection of NA beers. It was all very tasty. Fresh. Only complaint is smaller portions for the price compared to some of their competitors, albeit in other areas of Jacksonville like Atlantic Beach. Another downside is we wanted a dozen oysters on the half shell but at $42 a dozen, we passed ($18 a dozen at the Fish Company).

Service a bit spotty drinks took a bit of time and overall the time from ordering should be a.bit less. But the food was tasty corn nugget me and ranch great could use more corn but it's like corn and bechamel how can that be bad. He has oysters and shrimp basket. I had chicken Sam. Which was delish and yuca was ehhh cilantro sauce great. Ice cream Sammy was good and drinks ok. The Saturn and the siesta sling best. I left the cereal drink untouched. For what we had our bill was 150. With tip 200. Bit I would go back and order only the hits

Buoy is newly open and man is it SO GOOD . Parking is tricky so park down the street (parking also available in the church lot behind) so you can get a good stretch after you eat until youre beyond full. The prices were average but reasonable for the quality. We arrived just before 6 and were able to be seated but be patient- they just opened! they are also open on Tuesday- Friday from 11-3 for lunch. They had a variety of options from fried fish baskets to deliciously thought out mains. oh and even better- instead of bread to start they have boiled peanuts cooked in house! Take it from your south carolina transplant! So good that we forgot to take a picture. We tried the corn nuggets and Mayport shrimp bisque for our aptz. The corn nuggets came with homemade ranch. The batter was light but so crunchy. Not too salty- just right. The bisque was great and not heavy. They had so many options for Starters that sounded so good- I cant wait to go back to try more. 12/10 - no complaints at all For entrees we had the Mayport shrimp (fried)- it was perfectly battered, and paired with homemade cocktail and tarter which really brought it home. The fries were nothing special but not bad. 9/10 I grew up eating clam pasta and had expectations... however this was far better than i couldve imagined. Ive never had it with bacon and parm and im not sure if thats what made it so good or if there was a secret ingredient but it was the best clam sauce Ive ever had. It had 10 clams which I felt like was a fair number. I have to give it a 10/10.For dessert- I was sad to hear they were out of the Key lime pie as i heard its amazing. We decided to go with the icecream cookie. It had room for improvements. Far too cold (sounds silly but remeber im being more strict), ice cream melted out of the side so most of the cookie was eaten without icecream. Flavors were great. I have to give it 7.5/10.Service was good. Our waitor, Jacob was very busy however the others did attend to us if we seemed to be waiting. i think the service will get better as they have more time to adjust. We cant wait to go back. We arent big on repeating monthly restaurant visit but we might have to with this one. I am giving Service a 8/10

Newly opened restaurant the Buoy. So excited to try our neighborhood restaurant. Finally our party of four had dinner at the Buoy. We ordered the Salmon special & the Clam pasta for dessert we had the key lime pie. Everything was so delicious. Service by Jacob was truly was amazing. We had a wonderful time and we will be back.

    Bright and open dining room

Just finished lunch and the food was really good. Friendly, attentive service and nice bright decor. I love that the dining area is so open with huge windows that allow lots of light to come in. Even with the open space, the ambience and noise level is very pleasant and comfortable. I would have enjoyed more options, but what I ordered was pretty tasty. I spent $31 for sandwich and a side. Service: 5/5 - Breanna was awesome and very patient Ambiance: 5/5 Rock Shrimp Roll: 4.5/5 - Nice alternative to a lobster roll and very good flavor Yucca Fries: 4/5

We came here for lunch one weekday. The food was very good. The best hush puppies I've ever had. Even the collard greens were excellent. The service was great as well as the atmosphere. I was a little disappointed at the selection of seafood offered. I feel like there should have been more for a seafood restaurant, and definitely more affordable. Too expensive for me. The frozen margaritas were $18!!!!

    Fried chicken hushpuppies funnel cake

The food was great! We ordered from the brunch menu and the food had amazing flavor even if the portion size was a little small. The service was amazing, everyone working in the restaurant is very attentive and helpful. The overall vibe of the restaurant is very coastal chic, it's a little on the fancy end for a casual dining experience but it would be great for date night or family dinner.

My husband and I have been several times already both for lunch and most recently, brunch. The shrimp and grits were amazing and creamy, and the chicken with funnel cake was so cool and different! The corn nuggets may be my favorite thing I have had so far, and the home made ranch they serve with them is crave worthy. It's beautiful and bright inside, service has been excellent both times. Definitely recommend! We will back soon.

Mediocre food, mediocre service, limited menu. Needs more sauces and more options. Has potential, hopefully it will improve.

The staff was nice and could tell they were working really hard to accommodate everyone's orders. I ordered the "FEAST" with items cooked in the following: *Shrimp (fried) - crispy, light and seasoned well *Fish (Basa, white fish)(blackened) - good seasoning and grilled nicely *Scallops (grilled) - just very slightly overcooked, but still grilled nicely with good seasoning *Devil Crab & Oysters (already comes fried) - crab was good although seemed to have more breading than the crab itself; oysters were light and crispy *Hushpuppies - delicious and tasty *2 sides: steamed veggies & sweet potato casserole -- steamed veggies were good in butter and SPC was absolutely delicious with that perfect sweetness Overall, enjoyed the lunch with the family and great in seeing everyone. I do would like to try out their boiled menu next time. There is one feedback to address and that's the restrooms. It needs some fixing and remodeling done to ensure the restrooms are more functional.

This hidden gem offers an intimate indoor dining room along with a charming outdoor patio. I highly recommend making a reservation, as seating is limited. Othello is a tapas-style restaurant, and we loved ordering a variety of dishes to share around the table. It was the perfect way to experience different flavors, and every dish we tried was beautifully prepared, fresh, and packed with flavor. Even the less adventurous eaters in our group left impressed. Some of our favorites included the whipped feta (don't skip the bread for dipping!), the roasted half chicken, and the butterflied branzino, which was perfectly cooked with a delicious char and bright, fresh flavors. Every plate that came to the table looked as incredible as it tasted. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions about the menu. One thing to know before you go: the chef has a very specific vision for each dish and generally does not allow substitutions or modifications. For example, one person in our group wanted the aioli removed from the tuna, but the dish was only served as designed. It's something to keep in mind if you have picky eaters or dietary preferences. We were so full after sharing so many plates that we had to pass on dessert, but that's just another reason to come back. Othello delivers a memorable dining experience with creative flavors, excellent service, and a fun, shareable menu. We'll definitely be returning.

We arrived early thinking we could sit at the bar but unfortunately seats at the bar are also reserved so best to avoid coming early for your reservation since there is no room to hang out inside.
