This place has GREAT drinks! My vegetarian friend and I went and had the green tea wasabi and Mac and cheese for dinner. Both were very good. There's not much variety for vegetarians but the servers were very gracious. Next time I'll try the fish there! The martinis (the reason we went) were amazing especially the rose martini and this jalapeño heat martini. It was a nice breezy night and we sat outside. Made reservation for 7. So disorganized had to wait outside for table for over a half and hour after reservation made with an 8 month old baby. Don't think I would bother coming back here again and I didn't even tried the food yet. Ended up with even a Sunday brunch menu. Waiter was great and did his best to try to make up for all the other mistakes. Manager did come over to express his concern and apologized. Even treated the table to appetizers. Truly impressed. It is a shame, this was a very good reliable restaurant in the past that we went to often However, since the original management team has left it is in disarray. While the food is still good, the wait staff is not. I had such a bad experience a month ago with a sarcastic , surly server that it had to have been an off night. Actually, my return trip was worse. It got to the point where I had to go to the kitchen to find my server for the bill and it really was not that busy. When I finally found her, she berated me for not following restaurant protocol. When I asked for a manager, I was told there was not one on duty. I don't think she was lying because the place was being run by the eighteen year old hostess, who I felt really bad for. The staff was so insulting and the experience was such a disaster, I cannot see myself ever going back there. read more

I love having a Bonefish less than 10 away from me instead of having to drive to PA every time. I like fish but I'm picky when it comes to eating it because the smell of fish turns me off when I'm eating it, and the Sea Scallops and Shrimp are my absolute favorite. The meal is not fishy and it's not overwhelming, it's just right, especially with a glass of white wine. I don't normally stray too far from my usual dish, but overall I've never been let down! read more

My husband, my mother-in-law and I went to Bonefish Grill in Lawrenceville, NJ on Saturday, August 9, 2014 for my mother-in-law's birthday. We were not disappointed. We had the 'Bang-Bang Shrimp' appetizer which was off the charts delicious. My mother-in-law and I had the 'Wild Hawaiian Orchid Martini' which tasted like you were sitting on a beach in the islands. So flavorful and yummy. My main course was the Ahi Tuna Bowl. The tuna was so tender it literally melted in your mouth. The service was also impeccable. Our server was attentive without being annoying and overly friendly (which seems to be in vogue these days). This is my new favorite restaurant and I will continue to frequent it. Prices are also fair to reasonable. A very enjoyable and pleasant dining experience. Also, my husband and I visited the restaurant a few weeks prior......also so delicious I had to return. read more

Food is fantastic the service even better but when it comes to the management quite lacking. They refused to respect the wishes of the customers and think the corporate should control the volume knob and the thermostat. If you are a penguin and wish to have a nice fish dinner perhaps this is a place for you but if you like to have a nice quiet intimate meal with a significant other this is not the place to spend your hard earned cash. Perhaps next time Dan the manager will have the regional managers contact information so I can express my frustration with someone who will listen. Other bloggers are commenters on Yelp seem to think the bathrooms are adequate but apparently the female restroom was overflowing with trash, out of paper for drying your hands. Prices seem to be quite fair considering the quality of the food. Always impressed with the fresh new creations expertly prepared. It's only the management that frustrates me. Perhaps in the future I won't have to wear a parka while eating dinner. So in summary 1 star for excellent food. 1 star for great staff. No star for terrible volume. My family and I have gone to Bonefish at route 18 many times and have always enjoyed the food there. We were so happy that they opened one in lawrenceville, which is closer to home. Sadly I have been disappointed with the quality of the entrees at the lawrenceville location. Been there two times not long after they opened and was disappointed every time. Gave it another try today and was disappointed again. My son tried their new seasonal entree, branzino fish and could hardly enjoy the fish because there were so many small bones left on it. We had same fish at Seasons 52 and not a bone was found. Another time we were there my son ordered grilled salmon and it was burnt on the underside. That fish should never have left the kitchen. We used to love their house salad and now it's just like any other salad - not special anymore since they started to skimp on the ingredients. I have been to other bonefish restaurants in other states and found them to have better quality food. At the lawrenceville location, the servers are great but the Foods are lacking quality standards. That being said, since we've moved to Burlington County, not exactly near the shore anymore, & we got a gift card for Xmas. I read every last review & honestly thought it was hit or miss. Our server, Jen, was awesome. Gave the specials & info on the place since it was our 1st time. We started out w/ oysters on the 1/2 shell. All I can say is wow! They were fresh, ice cold & left us wanting to order more. We both ordered filet mignon with a lobster tail. The steak was perfectly cooked to med rare, the tail was perfect, green beans steamed to perfection & the scalloped potatoes were tasty as well. After all that I couldn't think about desert, but my daughter wanted chocolate, so we ordered the chocolate creme brulee to go. Heavenly!! Rich, chocolatey delishisness. I wanted to post a review based solely upon the service my husband and I received last night. We are not big fish eaters, but we wanted a nice night out and Bonefish had some interesting looking non-fish items on the menu, so we decided to eat there last night. My husband ordered the 8oz filet. When it came out, the filet had a huge amount of fat on it. Our waiter, Christian, noticed he wasn't thrilled with his steak and pressed us to find out what was wrong (my husband is not one to complain or send food back, as he doesn't like inconveniencing anyone). Even though we insisted that it was fine and he would just eat around the fat, Christian sent over his manager, Sarah, who insisted on having another steak prepared for my husband immediately. Not only was the second steak perfectly cooked, Sarah also went the extra mile and offered us dessert on the house, a gesture that, while completely unnecessary, was greatly appreciated. Kudos to Sarah, Christian, and the rest of the Bonefish team for turning a not-so-great situation around and really going the extra mile for the customer. read more

It was very tasty and served with drawn butter. The last entree was a special, the swordfish and pumpkin ravioli. Each entree plate was cleaned. The food is excellent. The service is friendly. The drinks are superb. This is a new restaurant to the area, and they are definitely working out the kinds in terms of service and menu availability, but that I believe is because they did not realize how popular they would be and have had a hard time keeping up. The severe weather lately has also caused a disruption to their food deliveries, which I learned after actually asking about the problems I had seen, having gone there three times in the last two weeks because I love it so much. They just need to get into the swing of things and this place will be the next cool place to hang out. The crowd is mixed as is the background, which includes rock as well as soul and R&B, a rare find around here. The ambiance is great overall. I will be coming here often. read more

I made a reservation today for dinner at Bonefish Grill. The food was average. My crab cake looked like a teaspoon size of crab. The service was horrible. Guests were upset waiting for food. My waiter kept apologizing and told me three seep rat times that my bread would be coming as soon as it gets out of the oven. It finally arrived after I've eaten my meal. I don't know if I will visit this establishment again until they hire more people to bust tables and serve people. read more

For all the hype, I'd say this restaurant was simply adequate. The "Bang Bang" shrimp was supposedly a popular appetizer... and it was tasty, but no different than any "Firecracker" or "Dynamite" Shrimp you'll find at other chain restaurants. Salads (some caesars, and one 'watermellon salad') were fine and a good segue to our dinners. Plates came out scalding hot and looking absolutely huge compared to the size of the entrees on them (which were not small, only "sufficient"). The Tilapia Imperial had great flavor and no bones, always a plus. Other dishes at the table had OK presentation, but the "Steak and Stuffed Shrimp" looked microscopic on my guest's plate -- I think he had three small shrimp with a tiny steak portion. We had one order of bread, which was fine, but the second order never materialized (some sort of issue "in the back"). We had our entrees at that point, so no real harm. Desserts (Coconut pie, Macadamian Nut Brownie) were thumbs-up all around. We had no problem with drinks -- sodas, liquor (the blackberry sangria was great), everything was prompt and on point. No cappuccino option to accompany dessert, which was a disappointment. Service was prompt, food delivery was on time and nothing was cold. No complaints there. The server's tablet broke down while taking our order, luckily she was prepared with pen-and-paper. The downside was, nothing about the experience stood out. Not even the decor was astounding -- just "pretty nice." Food wise, I've received larger portions at Red Lobster. The quality/freshness of the food was overall good, but some of the portions and presentations were lacking. For the price (quite high), I don't think I'll go back. One and done. read more

Let me start by saying we have frequented several Bonefish Grill's and have ALWAYS been pleased with the quality and consistancy of all the dishes we have ordered. I also realize this restaurant is newly opened, but come on, if you are having this many issues you definitely needed to be more discriminating in who you hire.....namely the kitchen staff. Hubby and I decided to dine there last night after a tiring work week. We arrived around 5:30 and we were told there would be about a 30 minute wait. That was fine, so we opted to sit in the bar area and partake in happy hour. Our bar server was there promptly and brought our drinks fairly quickly. The odd thing was two other servers came over with menus, and at least two other servers came over with a drink and appetizers that we did not order. They quickly apologized and went on to the next group of people, who also didn't order them. Our pager went of in less the the 30 minutes wait time.....yay, things are looking good. Or so we thought. We were seated and our very friendly dining server was right there on the ball. We put in an appetizer order (the Calamari is delicious!!! Highly recommended. Love the thai inspired sauce). Shortly after she put the order in she came back for out dinner order. Shirimp and Scallops in lemon butter sauce for both of us and and a house salad. After waiting a little bit too long we got our salad first which we thought was odd because we have always gotten our appy first, but no big deal. As usual, the house salad with citrus viniagrette was good. After another long wait, we still didn't have the calamari, our server noticed this and checked in the kitchen to see what the hold up was. Our appetizer was given to someone else and they were putting in a new order as a rush. Ok, we were not in a hurry so, again, no big deal. The calamari was definitely worth the wait. Now for the "good" part. After waiting another VERY long time, our dinner came to the table. After it was set on the table hubby and I looked at each other and kind of smirked. The presentation was awful....like the food was just thrown on the plate without a care. The shrimp and scallops were not of the quality we were used to at the other Bonefish's we have been to. In fact after taking a bite we did complain that it was way way over cooked. The scallops were rubbery and chewy....we could have bounced them off the floor. The shrimp were the same. Our very pleasant server said she would tell her manager and a new order was put in. While we were waiting (and still very hungry....we ate the sides we ordered). I highly recommend the scalloped potatoes, always a favorite. The other side that came with the meal was a garbonzo bean spinach concoction which was also very good. Ok, by this time we were ready to go. Then our new order of scallops came, brought out and cooked by the manager herself, they were definitely better than the first batch but did not have the lemon butter sauce on them. She said she would bring that right over...not surprisingly it never came. We ate the scallops anyway. Soooo, all in all, this was a bad experience and we will most likely not go back to this one.......or at least give it another 5 or 6 months to get the act together. Oh, another thing, this was not just happening to us. We consistently heard servers saying they were sorry over and over to their customers for both the long wait for food and for the ill prepared food. Sorry Bonefish Grill, you needed to hire better capable kitchen staff or at least you should have given much more training. WE had a reservation for 8pm on Fathers day, when we got our table the restaurant was not too crowded..We ordered and after waiting for at least 2hrs a manager came over and said they had a real back up in kitchen and were out of a lot of items. After our complaint our meal arrived, to back up we got our soups before our drinks. When meal did arrive 3 of the four meals were cold. too late to send back since it was about 9:30 or so.. We did get our meals comped but that does not make up for the total mess of late late meals and cold food.i will never go back and I think me Hank Trueblood should re do his kitchen and wait staff. Mercer Mall Bone fish grill. Don't be fooled by the décor and the romantic dimly lit room. It seems like they are trying to hide their dirty silverware and plates. This was the third time we went. We had a horrible experience the first time. My son's chicken tenders turned out to be fish tenders. When the chicken tenders finally came, they were RAW inside. I was shocked. My dad's fish was also raw. I couldn't believe it. This time the manager came up to our table and apologized and gave us a gift card. Few months passed and we decided to go again and use our gift card thinking it might have been because they were brand new and very busy. We had a good time. It did take a while for the food to come out but it was pretty good. We decided to go again since our last experience was good. It was too good to be true. We went on a Monday and it wasn't busy. There was one couple there and our group of 10. You would think the service would be quick. Oh my goodness was I wrong. The utensils looked like they weren't washed at all. I think they are hoping you won't see the crap that's on the forks and knife and the major oily residue on the plates because it's so dark in there. When I asked for another plate, he handed me another greasy plate. We ordered the appetizers and then our waiter was gone. We were looking around because we were ready to orderour main course but he never came back until the appetizers came. He took our order of main course after we had started eating the appetizers. Who does that. He also brought our drinks and put them on the table by crossing his body infront of me. so he was placing the drink on my left side while standing on my right so his armpit was in my face....REALLY. oh and I forgot to mention that he spilled one of the drinks by putting it on the part where they connected the two tables. its so dark in there that their own waiter couldn't see properly. Our food finally came an hour and half later. Everything was bland, it was like they ran out of all their spices. And again the waiter disappeared. He replaced our drinks once the whole 2 hrs we were there. We finished our diner and again the waiter was gone. He was getting things cleaned for the night....changing the paper table covers. And oh yea if you say excuse me to him, he ignored you until he would finish what ever he was doing and then walk up to you. Did I mention there were only 2 tables he was taking care of. I had to walk upto him to ask for the check and then again he was gone. I took the check w credit card upto him just to hurry things up. I paid, left a crappy tip and left. I wish I could have complained to manger but there didn't seem to be anyone there for me to ask for a manager. Needless to say we will never be going back!!! And if you don't go, you'll be saving yourself lots of money and headache. read more

My husband and I, along with other family members went to Bonefish Grill on Rt 1 in Lawrenceville NJ on March 22, 2014 for his Birthday dinner. Before we ordered the mix and share meal of steak,salmon,scallops and shrimp, with 2 side dishes of potatoes for $ 17.99 per person, I asked our waitress if it would be enough for 2 people to share and she assured us that portions were generous and more than enough for each person. The house salad came in first and it was very good.Then the shock came in second: we were served very small steak, very small salmon, TWO small flat scallops and TWO small to medium shrimp to share between my husband and me. Portions of potatoes were small too; looked like 2 scoops of ice cream , with some cheackpeas between each scoop. Steak was good, salmon nothing special, scallops and shrimp tasted old, and really suspiciuous, potatoes tasted good. The flouerless brownies were good, but too sweet. We shared and ate it because we were hungry, and we were still hungry when we left the reataurant. We did not complain to the manager; she was going from table to table and talked to customers and we did not want to make the noise re the quality and quantity of food served, but most of all we did not want to upset my husband and his special day. We decided that we would NEVER, EVER go back there again! Why would we go back the the place were the waitress lies to us, serves us so little, but no specially tasty food that we leave retaurant hungry( we are not big eaters by any means) and were there is only TWO types of fish that is wild cought ; all rest is "humanely farm raised" as stated by our waitress.At least she did not lie to us about that ! I have been eating at this bonefish grill location since they opened. The food has always been absolutely delicious and the service has also been very good. The service is still great! However, I am extremely disappointed that bonefish has put out new menus just recently that have eliminated many of my favorites, especially the sides of sweet potato mash and steamed broccoli. These are no longer available. A couple at the table next to me tried to order edamame & some teriyaki bowl that are both no longer available. I am gluten-free due to an allergy and now the menu choices are extremely limited. The only vegetable side that is available now is green beans. They are good but I would like more choices. The other sides available to me are rice & garlic mashed potatoes, which are nowhere near as healthy or tasteful as the sweet potato mash. Last night I ordered the wild grilled Haddock and the quality of the meal was just not there & tasted extra salty. I ordered the sides of green beans which were good and the garlic mashed potatoes which was just okay & nothing special. I don't think I will return unless sweet potato mash is put back on the menu. I believe bonefish Grill eliminated all those menu items in order to try to cut costs and it seems like the quality has also gone down. They are going to lose some great loyal customers by eliminating almost half their menu. read more

My husband and I brought our families here for dinner (party of 12) and my mother, an avid ahi tuna fan, ordered an ahi tuna steak and asked for it to be cooked rare. It came out about medium - obviously way too overdone, and instead of refiring, the owner hovered over her and informed her she was cutting it wrong. My husband ordered the same thing and she kept pointing to his to indicate what she wanted and he kept insisting she was cutting it incorrectly despite her having cut it through the middle to show him. That's not actually a thing though so we won't be returning for any more family dinners. read more
