The interiors look eerily similar to its predecessors, but also seem to be unfinished and bland based on some exposed spots on their walls. The ambiance (2.5/5) leaves much to be desired as there was no music in the main dining area, but there seemed to be some noise coming from a dining area on the opposite side of the restaurant. The menu is typical of the many Indian eateries popping up in the area with a huge variety and a selection of fusion dishes as well as from various regions in India. Note that appetizers are a bit on the pricy side, with some approaching the cost of main courses. I started off with a mango lassi (3/5) which seemed pretty unmemorable and average compared to other Indian restaurants. For meals, we went with the paneer butter masala, the Punjabi palak paneer, and some plain naan. Meals come with complimentary rice, although we had to flag down the staff when we wanted more or needed water refilled. Both the paneer butter masala and Punjabi palak paneer (3.5/5) were tasty and a slight edge in taste going to the paneer butter masala, but we've had better at other area Indian restaurants. The naan (3/5) was average (note there's an extra charge if you want butter on the naan). Service (3/5) was friendly, but they clearly needed more staff to attend to all the guests. Overall, I'd rate Desi Dhamaka a 3.5/5, but happy to round up as they are new to the area and have some room for growth (they need to work on the music and spruce up the decor). While we wouldn't object to eating here again, we have our area favorites for Indian food a short drive away that we'd rather go to.

The Eat Street online website charged a 1.49 service fee but that didn't include the massive markup on each menu item they took somewhere between 4-and 8 dollars per item. When I showed the restaurant server the mark-up (there was no manager available) she confirmed this online ordering service was marking up each meal item. Efe's is aware of this online ordering service (according to Eat Street's Website and terms of service, every merchant must execute an order form for services with Eat Street). The only other comment from the server was that I hoped I enjoyed the meal, even though I was fleeced by paying inflated menu prices (and resulting taxes and tip) by over $21 for a restaurant pick up take-out order using this online EatStreet.Com ordering pick-up website that Efe's appears to be under contract with. If manager responds they are getting rid of EatStreet.com and/or the marked up commissions for in the EatStreet website will consider updating my current 1 star rating.
