We began with the Burrata & Beet Salad and the Point Judith Calamari, both of which were beautifully prepared and disappeared almost instantly from the table. The calamari was particularly outstanding -- delicate, impeccably fresh, and perfectly crisp. The Parmesan Sole was equally impressive. The crispy Parmesan panko crust paired wonderfully with the bright lemon garlic butter, while the accompanying salad added a refreshing balance to the dish. Above and beyond..... that's the best way I can describe our experience the other night. We were celebrating our friends 41st wedding anniversary. The table was covered in rose petals. Eddie V's left an anniversary card, champagne, complementary desserts, really extraordinary. And six red roses were a parting gift. We started out with beautifully, prepared salads, the wedge and the beet salad. Executed perfectly, including our specific request to put dressing and bacon on the side. We both ordered the ribeye steaks. They were cooked to the right temperature and were tender and flavorful. The fries for the table were generous, perfectly seasoned and very hot and crispy. Asparagus and Brussels rounded out the meal and assuaged the guilt that comes with ordering two giant slabs of meat. Our servers were wonderful. We felt special and we left happy. My Wife took me here for my birthday and I must say this place is fabulous. The waiter (Lido) was an absolute pleasure and great host. He made sure we had everything we didn't know we needed. The place was vibrant with beautiful decor and a great mixture of people. The food was amazing!!!! We had the lobster tacos for a starter and it was by far the best taco I ever ate. We split a 22oz ribeye which was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. We accompanied the steak with crab fried rice, while a little on the salty side we had asparagus to balance it out. Finished off with a nice little surprise desert from our waiter and had a couple of drinks throughout the night. By far one of the best experiences, I will definitely be back!!! read more

Food, we came for happy hour and tried a number of different dishes and ordered a couple of things from the main menu. The cocktail was really good. So the reason for the 2/5 is because when I went on 9/7, the best meal and service I've had at any Eddie V's I've been to.... Server, I think named Matt = amazing. Efficient, helpful and not "overdone". Ambiance reminds me of the Nashville Location without the giant chandeller. Then I think wow, that was the best steak at an Eddie V's I've ever had (me = long time eddie v/ capital grille go-er-er) which brings to tonight on 9/18 I did a mix of a few happy hour items and the steak. The steak from 9/7 was 10/10, today (excluding the steak not being cooked right the firist time) was like a 5-6/10 which is problem for a place like Eddie V's. How can we go from the literal BEST 2 weeks ago to hamburger meat 2 weeks later. Server was nice, management nice... accommodating to which i appreciated, but then the 20 mins for cocktails (during dinner which inevitably stalls the meal) and dessert was very nice, but again... very long wait time for a Thursday night . I'm disappointed tonight, not their best night. I had this issue at a capital grille where the inconsistencies made dining feel like AC on a hot table. Q. Recommend or no? A. I'd go every other day if it was like 9/7, my cousin and I loved it spent like $200PP and tipped well of course.... I wouldn't return for a night like tonight, disappointed. The ambiance of this restaurant felt very sophisticated, and the high-end feeling continued with the exceptional service displayed by Amber from start to finish. The manager had stopped by and introduced herself in the beginning of our meal, as well as dropping off a lump crab amuse bouche. I ordered two drinks- Golden Hour and 24 Karat and they were both so good! My husband and I started our meal with the jumbo shrimp cocktail and spicy tuna on crispy rice, and had the filet mignon with the truffled macaroni and cheese, au gratin cheddar potatoes, and corn (with cotija cheese). My steak was perfectly cooked in the center, though it was a bit dry on the edges, and the au gratin cheddar potatoes were too cheesy for us. We had a great experience celebrating my husband's birthday here. Everything was executed to perfection. We had the salmon, filet mignon and NY strip. All 3 were done perfectly. I knew the filet is going to be great because it cut like butter. The mashed potatoes were flavorful and creamy and asparagus seasoned and grilled exactly right. Service was also impeccable, from the moment we walked in to our already decorated table with a birthday card, to the last bit of dessert and coffee, our waiter was attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. The place is steakhouse masculine sporting appropriately attentive service and an expertly prepared array of usual suspect seafaring and carnivore pleasing offerings Shellfish rules here with oysters in the spotlight. I had the lobster bisque and crab cakes which were both "fine" meaning.... I wish I had been a bit more adventurous in my selection as they were both appropriate to the price point but not amazing by any means. I was all set to give Eddie a solid four stars but I'm a sucker for Bananas Foster. BTW my credit card is recovering nicely after a mild bout of PTSD. What the hell, five easy stars. read more

My wife and I have been excited for Eddie V's to open - we love the one in Cherry Hill and welcomed it opening closer to where we live. Two weeks after opening, our experience was all-around poor. We went for happy hour and the bar was 3/4 full 20 minutes after open at 4PM. The bartenders ask everyone their names and wrote them on the check. They never addressed us by name after, so it felt useless. My wife ordered the cosmopolitan and I ordered the Bulleit Sour. Both were just BAD. My sour was wayyyy over soured. I've had dozens over the years so I know what to expect. My wife's Cosmo was just... wrong. It was also over-soured with lime. It was the worst Cosmo she ever had she said. The food front wasn't any better. A woman across the bar complained because the mashed potatoes "were like gloop" and they were, as she hit her plate with a spoonful that didn't budge. A manager later thanked her because the whole batch was "bad". She also complained about her steak doneness. On our food side, it was bad. First, the lobster bites for $20 were atrocious. We got teeny tiny bits of lobster (see photos) that were $10 too expensive for what you got. They were delivered room temperature. Next, we saw several issues with food delivery and we twice had other peoples orders come to us. Lastly, the burrata salad was just not good. Heirloom tomatoes are not the right tomato- stop using them!! They were not ripe and had the texture of a steak. I've had tomato burrata salad in Italy where the tomatoes are properly chosen and used - this was no where close. Overall, we won't be going back and we're extremely disappointed. read more

We have gone to any of these three times with a mixed bag of results. The first time was shortly after they opened. Although pricey, the food was outstanding as well as the service. They typically ask if you are celebrating something special and on our first time there we were celebrating our wedding anniversary anniversary. They provided complementary round of Prosecco anniversary dessert. To top this off, they provided some long stemmed roses which lasted for weeks. The two subsequent times that we went were both good but the food quality dropped off a tad. I've been wanting to try this restaurant and was finally in the area. Plenty of parking we walked in and were not seated right away, couple minute wait for our reservation. Tara was our server and she was excellent, super friendly and helpful with going over the menu we started with the burrata. The cheese itself and the dressing were very good, but some of the tomatoes were not good and tasted old. We split the rest of our dishes. We got the salmon which we really liked, the halibut, which was awesome and the stuffed shrimp, brussels sprouts, the mac & cheese, the mashed potatoes and the fried rice. All the sides were awesome and a nice size. I kinda wish some of our meals came with sides instead of having to separates added on. Very swanky new restaurant, scallops were exceptional and fresh over polenta with a balsamic peach sauce (yes it worked!), my wife had a great parmesan crusted sole. Tuna tartar style appetizer was very good though the Waygu sliders shined exceptionally. Crab fried rice is a MUST, have never had anything like this in the world, tasty rice with ample crab and an interesting mushroom sauce that works fantastically together. Prices are expensive though this can be offset by going to the bar during Happy Hour from 4-6:30 daily if need be. Good ambiance and talented jazz musicians in the bar area also. What a beautiful restaurant! Immediately upon walking in it is a bit dark and even in the main dining area, but the inside is decorated with luxury and glam. The entrance hallway to the main dining room is beautiful. There is a gigantic, astonishingly beautiful chandelier in the center of the dining room. The temperature was slightly too cold for my liking, especially given guests mostly were short sleeves or dresses to a nice restaurant in the summer. A few degrees warmer would have been perfect. We were greeted quickly by our server, Matt, who was kind and attentive. He also had some good hearted humor which we loved, and he kept us happy. The water glasses were always filled which was great because I love to stay well hydrated. The manager was kind enough to come over to see us which I wish more restaurants would do. Also, when I asked another employee where the restroom was he took the time to walk me over to where it was which was surprisingly kind. My napkin was folded when I got back to my table. For the culinary portion, the Chilean sea bass was cooked right and it wasn't a bad taste but it left more to be desired. Chilean sea bass is my favorite fish and I found the current recipe a bit on the boring side. Also, the spinach was saturated in the soy sauce by time I could finish and it was just too much. I'm hoping the recipe for this fish changes up now and then. It was nice that they served it to me with a wooden lid on top to stay hot being brought to the table. The butter with the bread served upon being seated is the tastiest butter I've ever had. The bread was served hot and it was delicious. The crème brûlée was very good and the bananas foster had a pleasant taste but I didn't enjoy the crust. Overall, great experience. I will be back mostly because of the hospitality which many establishments lack nowadays. Keep up the great work in that area, add some new fish recipes every so often, and I will be back many times with friends and family. read more

Review of Eddie V's Seafood Restaurant - Princeton, NJ February 15, 5:00 PM Reservation Birthday Celebration I am writing to document a deeply disappointing experience at the Princeton location of Eddie V's that stood in stark contrast to the exceptional service my party previously received at your Cherry Hill restaurant, which is the only reason we chose your brand again for this important celebration. From the moment we were seated, the tone of the evening was off. The welcome and service were noticeably cold, unenthusiastic, and consistently delayed. For a reservation tied to a birthday celebration, there was no acknowledgment of the occasion whatsoever until it was raised later by us. Given Eddie V's reputation for upscale dining and hospitality, this lack of attentiveness was surprising. Our primary servers, Matt and Caroline, were the staff members who handled most of our food and beverage interactions throughout the evening. While the food itself was acceptable, the service failures overshadowed the entire evening. Our party spent over $1,500, yet we experienced long gaps between interactions with staff and had to repeatedly seek assistance. The most disappointing moment came at dessert. We had arranged for a birthday cake to be brought out as a surprise, but instead of coordinating this moment, servers began distributing take-home boxes. I had to repeatedly ask about the cake before it was eventually located. By then, the surprise was effectively ruined, and the cake could not even be properly presented with candles in time. What should have been a celebratory highlight became awkward and frustrating. When I addressed these concerns with the manager, I was told that the Princeton location "can't do things the same way" as Cherry Hill and that certain gestures "can't be gotten away with" here. This explanation was both confusing and disappointing. Consistency in hospitality standards should be expected across locations, especially within a brand positioned as premium dining. The statement suggested not only a lack of accountability but also a dismissal of reasonable guest expectations. This experience did not meet the standard associated with the Eddie V's name. Given the cost of the evening, the special occasion, and the prior positive experience at another location, this visit fell far below expectations. I am sharing this in hopes that management will review what went wrong operationally and address the service gaps that turned what should have been a memorable birthday into a disappointing one. I would appreciate a direct response from management outlining how this situation will be addressed and what steps will be taken to ensure future guests celebrating special occasions receive the level of service your brand promotes. read more

I visited Eddie V's for my bday in August and to my surprise they had a live band that day. The customer service from Ama (I really hope I got her name right) was IMMACULATELY ON POINT! When she found out it was my bday she brought out treats from the chef and complimentary champagne. The scallops and NY strip were cooked perfectly. The crab fried rice had ample amounts of lump crab, lobster bites were DELISH (def must try), as well as the drinks. Filet bites were just ok, and oysters were mediocre... could do without. I initially went for happy hour and enjoyed the ambiance, apps and drink so much we decided to stay for dinner. Let me begin by saying that eight of us met for their Happy Hour on a Sunday afternoon (their Happy Hour is every day of the week). I think this is a great sales tool to get the community to come in and try the food and wallow in the elegant atmosphere at a fraction of the price that a full dinner would cost. The menu options for HH were lovely, and the cocktails made a beautiful statement. The presentations of the dishes were lovely, but most were lacking in taste, too much salt, and no real flavor melding. There was no pop to the flavors. My food photos are captioned too. Mini Filet Sandwiches, 11.00, were center cut filet mignon on toasted brioche buns with bleu cheese and onion jam. Guest said they were good. Prime Steak Tataki, 11.00, sliced with wild mushrooms, green onion, red chiles. Guest said it was good, but I didn't hear any raves. Eddie's Rockefeller, 9.00, Two broiled oysters with spinach, artichoke fondue, panko crumbs. An overabundance of crumbs, way too much salt, and the oysters themselves were tiny. Black Truffle Tartare, 10.00, Hand-chopped filet mignon, a thin slice of grana padano on top, and toasted baguettes. All flavorless. South African Lobster, 19.00, Five tempura bites topped with Sriracha Aioli. Guest consumed so fast that they must have been wonderful! Lollipop Lamb Chops, 25.00, Two single cut Australian lamb chops crusted with morel mushroom, fig glaze. I heard these were great! Yellowtail Sashimi, 21.00, with Cilanto, red chiles, and Ponzu. The ponzu sauce was SOOOO salty and the beautiful slices of fresh yellowtail were swimming in it. I love salt, but could barely enjoy this dish which could have been spectacular. The greeter was stuffy and seemed judgemental that we showed up without a reservation. A reservation? For Happy Hour? She did everything but roll her eyes. I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Eddie V's with four of my female friends. We sat at a booth table inside the bar area. Our server was Fiona. She was amazing! She made sure we had everything we wanted/needed. She was constantly asking if everything was OK, if we liked our food, etc. My four friends ordered the sushi which was made various ways. They gave you a lot of sushi and it was amazing. I ordered my standard, Caesar salad and crabcake. Both of them were absolutely amazing. We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert, and Fiona gave us a complementary taste of the bananas foster. Everything was amazing. As we were leaving, Fiona gave us each one red rose. It was a pleasant, pleasurable evening. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who asks. read more

We had never been to Eddie V's before and now hope to spend every celebration here. The service was excellent and everything we tried was phenomenal. Our server, Anthony, was super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was elegant yet cozy. For cocktails we had the smoked old fashioned, the margarita, and the hope diamond - all delicious. Even the bread and butter was super tasty and smelled fresh baked. The caesar salads were perfectly dressed with super yummy croutons. They also brought an ahi tuna cucumber amuse-bouche for the celebration and it was amazing! I had the parmesan sole and my mom had the chilean sea bass. Both were super fresh, perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. My dad had the ribeye and it was also perfectly cooked and the most tender steak we've ever tried. We shared the lobster mashed potatoes that were drowning in butter (in the best way) - they were unbelievable! For dessert, they brought a birthday plate with the bananas foster butter cake with butter pecan ice cream and chocolate cookies. The bananas foster was quite sweet, but the butter cake without the sauce was perfect, as were the cookies. Generally a nice addition at Princeton Market Fair. Fancy lighting, live music Saturday night by the bar, very good cocktails. Steaks very good, but a bit uneven in the sear. The service was not 100%, which is really unfortunate for our first visit to an Eddie V's. Nice younger gentlemen who kept up the annoying habit of 'upselling' - the most egregious being when we ordered wine, his comment being, "oh that's not a very good wine." Why would a restaurant ever put a wine on the menu that isn't very good and that they don't stand behind? His recommendation was the pricier option, of course. It didn't impact the evening, but it was silly to constantly push us to spend more, when we were already inclined to. It gave us a reason to think, well, maybe we won't get the dessert b/c this guy just won't stop. Personally, I like Ruth's Chris and McCormick's over this Eddie V's, because they overall seem to avoid green wait staff. read more

This was my second visit and it will be my last. Great ambiance and location considering I only live a few minutes away. At my initial visit I had the seafood tower, the rack of lamb and two mixed drinks. The oysters and shrimp were fresh and delicious but the lobster was devoid of taste. The rack of lamb was excellent but both of my drinks were too sweet. On my second visit I decided to have the rack of lamb again but unfortunately it was not as tender and flavorful as my previous visit. This leads me to believe consistency in the quality of what is being served is lacking. Good service should start at the door and good phone etiquette is essential when hoping to run a successful fine dining establishment. Management should take these tips into consideration. read more
