This place said it was open for business when I looked up it up for a bite to eat & a glass of wine when I got there & sat at the bar (for about 20 minutes btw) waiting for someone anyone to ask if I needed help or if I was ready to order but no one did unfortunately. So I asked a staff member who came from the back somewhere if I can get some service & he replied that they weren't open yet. This is the restaurant at the Marriot. I was looking to try some of the local restaurants but was told by the concierge that the closest restaurants were not within walking distance and required a car. Well, the only option was then Iron and Ivy. It must be good to not have a lot of competition. I kept it healthy and got a salad with chicken and it was meh. The chicken was very dry. Stopped by for drinks the following day. The flatbread was pretty good. Service was OK both times. read more

Stayed at this Marriott for work and a quick decent meal was the only thing on my mind at 7:30pm after a long drive. Let's start with the good. Marriot consistently provides a good burger and this one didn't disappoint. It was exactly what I expected. The fries however were much MUCH more! Say yes to the garlic parmesan fries. Just say YES! Say no to the chicken lemongrass pot stickers. Everything about that dish is weird. Not inedible but just weird. Why are they on a mandarin orange and craisen salad? Why? It's just OK. Nothing in the area so captive audience. Everything is over-cooked. Also the restaurant had only a few diners and yet I waited. Then I waited some more for someone to take my order. My medium-rare steak was well-done but I was too tired and hungry to send it back. Next night ordered linguini with crab, the broccoli was overcooked as well as the pasta. Surprised at the low rating here. It won't knock your socks off, but better than average fare. It's predictable, reliable, and gets the job done. Burgers are solid, fries are good, fish was good as well. Ambiance is perfectly adequate - give me a cozy, warm space with a fireplace over the cold stainless, sterile environment seen in many hotels. read more

I had a great experience at Iron & Ivy! I loveeeee going to hotel restaurants! I feel like I'm on a sense of vacation even though I'm not staying over! When you walk into Iron & Ivy, you're greeted by a beautiful fireplace and bright, stocked bar! The hostess was so sweet and recommended amazing menu options! We started off with the quesadillas and the bourbon bbq wings! When I tell you, the quesadillas were top 5 all time, they are TOP 5! They didn't fall apart and were toasted to perfection as well as loaded with shrimp and cheese and beans and corn! It was PHENOMENAL! For dinner we ordered the Grilled Flat Iron Steak and the Spinach & Roasted Garlic Tortellini! The veggies were so delicious and it was a huge portion that I was able to bring home for lunch the next day! For drinks, you couldn't go wrong with the dirty martini, the very berry martini and the Soccer Mom Lemonade! It was a great night overall and they have a huge inside / outside dining area! Highly recommend checking out Iron & Ivy and make sure you order the quesadillas because they are LIFE CHANGING! read more

Didn't feel like leaving the hotel so Iron and Ivy was my only choice for dinner! I was promptly greeted and seated in the restaurant by a bartender. A different person came to take my order, and another person brought my meal! There was a fellow in a jacket walking around the restaurant most of the time I was there. Despite the number of employees in the restaurant, service was inattentive. I seriously needed more ketchup, and never got it! When I was done eating, the fellow in the jacket finally walked to my table and asked if I needed anything! As for my hamburger, it was prepared from a frozen and unseasoned patty, served on a bun that was 2 or three days past being fresh! Fries were okay. While my overall dining experience was okay, the food and service provided are nothing to be proud of. read more

We ate at Iron & Ivy b/c we were tired and we checked in later in the evening.. The service was great and menu selection was fine. My daughter ordered a $38 steak and I ordered the cob salad with blackened chicken. Presentation was nice however the food was precooked. I've had better airline food on several occasions. The steak looked fake as it had faint grill burns and looked like it was microwaved. My grilled chicken tasted as though it literally came out of the refrigerator. $70 later and not worth it at all. read more

Limited menu with unimpressive selection of food, came here once and will not be returning. It's sad for a restaurant in a hotel this big to have such a limited selection, on the other hand, they are never busy so no need to make a reservation. I just had a great experience at Iron and Ivy, From the hostess that greeted us to the bartender that made our cocktails and helped serve our group, to the manager Emma that made sure everything was perfect. We had a party of 15, so not easy to handle, but every dish was tasty, fresh and had some nice touches (smoked mozzarella, pickled onions, horseradish cheddar on the short rib sandwich). I ate here twice during my hotel stay at Marriott Forrestal and the food/drinks were great both times! The first night I had the roasted beet salad with crab cake and it was phenomenal. I was very impressed with how lump the crab cake was. I also had their version of an old fashioned, which didn't disappoint. The second night I had the cheese steak dumplings which came out hot and fresh and had great flavor! I also had their specialty tequila cocktail the second night which was decent. read more

Great service great presentation! HOWEVER the food is sub par , actually below sub par! It used to be called the Fireside Grill which had two stellar reviews however not this place . REALLY A 15$ chicken quesadilla as a special! Lol* I had the salmon with polenta awful absolute dreadful and I'm no Gordon Ramsay! But I have taste high end taste. And this is what this establishment sells is high end food and a reasonable price I'd rather pay 200$+ dollars more and have amazing food then pay 100$ management was super helpful. If there was a "bad service bingo," this place would win with NO competition. Friday night, 7pm, 4 hungry kids with us. We had a reservation. They gave it to someone else. When we finally get a table, they were "out" of kids menu. Then it took us 15 minutes to get our drinks. There was an extra one and they forgot two. They took our order, and it took 30 minutes to get our appetizers AND entrees at the same time (they found some bread for us while we waited. Because we asked). They managed to get a side wrong too. After about an hour, nobody had come to check on us to clear our plates or ask for refills. Absolutely insane. We finally managed to get some boxes for the leftovers, and got a dessert menu. We managed to get two drink refills (nevermind more), and I asked a couple of questions about the dessert menu. What's the homemade frozen treat? He thinks raspberry (really.. only one flavor of ice cream???). What's the seasonal cobbler? Oh it's a cobbler with seasonal fruit. Thanks, Sherlock. He had to go to the kitchen to ask. Finally, after 10 more minutes of waiting, I went upstairs to get my things, and when I came back downstairs, they STILL had not taken the dessert order. It was 9.15pm by then. Absolutely unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and drive to Rt 1 for dinner. The food isn't even that great. read more

We came to Iron and Ivy inside the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal tonight because we were staying in the hotel and we wanted a quick, convenient dinner. The ambience is nice with a modern gas fireplace, nice lighting, and TVs ( the Olympics are on). It was nice and comfortable for our kids (10 & 12). We started with the arugula salad with beets and goat cheese: the dish that came was arugula, but had turnips and something that resembled cheese, but was not a kind of goat cheese that we recognized or have eaten. Well after finishing the arugula, the server - who was the now the bartender (the waitress had disappeared) - returned and we asked about the inedible salad ingredients. He left to ask the kitchen and returned with a plate of beets, announcing "here are the beets for you." .... (seriously). OK, we'll be flexible.. we try a bite, but guess what? The beets aren't peeled or trimmed. I had to spit the skin out after trying a bite. The burger was appropriately cooked with a delicious bun, but the fries were soggy and not seasoned. The buffalo chicken pizza was mediocre and the crust undercooked. The service was pleasant, but sparse and ineffective. The wine and beer were as expected. read more
