We have been faithful customers of Bonefish since it opened in Louisville, along with Florida locations in the winter. Recently, there have been several bumps in the road, and I am now here to tell you... The managers, Brittany and Taylor have made it right. I gathered five other girlfriends and went for lunch last Monday. We spoke to the waitress, Jahmaria, reference to questions we had about food prep, diet, restrictions, etc. She is the best! Got right on it, along with Taylor, and all of us could not have been any happier. Delicious preparation, wonderful martini Monday drinks. While we were there, there was a bus dropping off a tour of ladies. They ask for a recommendation and gosh, they were sure happy with the results. A wonderful price fixe menu to include soup or salad, entrée with side, and beverage. Only one last request for management. PLEASE, PLEASE, fix the door that is locked. No, it is not stuck. We attended a large group dinner for at least a dozen people and service was stellar. Our server and her trainee, as well as support staff, were professional, efficient, organized, and friendly. The restaurant was very comfortable and noise level was moderate with only a bit of difficulty hearing table mates seated more than one seat away. Food was delicious and everyone seated at my table was complimentary of their varied menu choices. I chose the seasonal offering of cedar plank "old fashioned" salmon with cherry gastrique glaze accompanied by steamed asparagus and whipped potatoes (substituted this for jasmine rice). I have been to their 4 course dining experiences several times and I have enjoyed each one. The one I enjoyed the most was the martini paired dining experience. Taylor, the host, is such a sweet person and does her best to make sure everyone is pleased with the experience. The four courses were very delicious, filling and flavorful. The only con is that some dishes could have been served hotter. However I understand it's a large event and food may sit a bit before coming out. In the event your dish was not hot enough, Taylor, quickly corrected it and brought it back hot. During these events they do raffles, which is always fun to win items. For the price of the dining experience you receive a lot of food and a drink with every course. I have been to 3 of these, with the martini pairing being my favorite! You can't beat the price of $65 dollars. They typically have one a month. I definitely recommend. read more

We were disappointed in the quality of service. The server did the bare minimum until he placed the check on our table. I still had half a plate of food to finish. While still eating he swept underneath our booth. When my husband reached for the check he was immediately there and standing over him while placing money in the folder. This was very disrespectful. I went to Bonefish for my birthday dinner. It was my first time, and it was so good and a great experience. The lighting really sets the mood, soft lighting, kind of dim but not too dark. He really treated us well, and I wish I remembered his name to ask for him again. The food is a 10/10 for me. We got the Imperial dip as an appetizer. A rich and hearty mix of cheeses, seafood mix, seasoned very well with what I assumed was Old Bay. You also get complimentary bread with a very flavorful dipping oil that has pesto seasonings. I got the grilled Chilean sea bass with their lemon caper butter sauce, garlic whipped potatoes, and asparagus. All of it was exceptionally good. The sea bass was well seasoned and grilled so it had a nice flavorful grilled taste, and the lemon caper sauce added the perfect amount of tang and sharpness. It was perfectly cooked, too. The garlic mashed potatoes had the right amount of garlic, so good. And the asparagus were also very well cooked -- tender but not underdone or overdone. My dad got the bang bang shrimp, which is their signature dish. They were so good, although not as spicy as I thought they might be. My mom got the cod imperial, which was also delicious. The light cod with their rich imperial seafood topping was the right combination. I will be back. It's a great celebration spot. read more

I ordered the fish and chips. some of the fish was soggy when it should have been crispy. the coleslaw had a nice citrus flavor. son ordered the shrimp and scallop linguine. it was 94% noodles and very little seafood. he exchanged it for the panko encrusted trout. it was too greasy or oily. it felt like you had a teaspoon of oil in your mouth while eating it. my wife got the Chilean seabass. she enjoyed it but I thought for $45 being it was only 3 inches by 3 it was way too small. That meal is way overpriced. Our waitress Sonya was nice but would never get us water. I had to ask the manager three times to get us water. The manager, Brittany, was the saving grace. she helped us get water, was very friendly, fixed any problems, etc. She was great! She should've been our waitress instead. Our waitress was very cold, never offered refills on our beverages, had to ask for bread. She had no personality, and acted like she didn't want to serve us. The food was okay. My husband and I came here for a lunch date. It was by far the worst food I have had in a long time! We got the tempura ahi appetizer. It was very mediocre to begin with then they had this sauce that they put in it that ruined it completely. I got the bang bang shrimp taco and the blackened fish taco. The fish taco was ok, but was DRIPPING with oil! The bang bang shrimp taco was gross! I couldn't eat it. The bang bang sauce was basically mayonnaise...which I can do in small amounts, but it was DRENCHED in the stuff. All I could taste was Mayonnaise! I couldn't eat even eat it. I got the Brussel sprouts...they were decent. My husband got the mahi fish. It was super bland and somewhat fishy. The waitress saw he didn't eat it and asked if he wanted something else. So he got the chicken and shrimp. The chicken was decent but the shrimp which was fried, was salty and mushy. The fries were good, but it's hard to mess up fries. My husband's meal also came with a brownie. It was good, but the strawberry sauce it came with didn't go well with it. Overall, the service was good and the server could tell we weren't happy with our food and tried to make it right. But we will not be back because the food was not good. Had the corn chowder with crab-great, the Thai chili green beans - they were supposed to be flash fried so I assumed they would arrive with a crunch (my fault, should've asked), anyway mushy not something I would order again. For the main I had the Rockefeller Black Cod. Not a fan, the cod was cooked really well and ate that, what was portrayed as the Rockefeller topping did not have that broiled crust topping that is associated with Rockefeller. Hankering a good piece of fish I decided to go to the Bonefish Grill, off of Hurstbourne Lane. I'm gonna make a long story short. Maybe one out of 10 meals meet up to my expectations. In this case, the Bonefish exceeded my standards. My wife had the crab cakes; I chose the Chilean Seabass. A little expensive for approximate 4-5 oz portion, but WOW. From the first bite to the last, it was the most deliciously prepared Chilean Bass I've ever had; and, I have been all over the world. It was perfectly seasoned, perfectly moist, and perfectly delicious, along with my asparagus. I would highly recommend anyone that likes Seabass visit the Bonefish Grill. Taylor, is proprietor and manager, and the best at it. I've been dealing with her since the days she was managing Carrabba's, before she moved over to the Bonefish. Although the tables seem to be very close to each other, there was no issue during the late lunch hours as it was not busy. However, if it gets busy, I am not so sure. The food was amazing. I used to LOVE Bonefish - it was my preferred upper scale dining choice; however, it's gone downhill. The last three times I went to this location, the salads are AWFUL. So bad, I had to send them back (I NEVER EVER send food back). The lettuce is slimy, brown, old - just gross and unsalvageable. The portions have gotten way too small. So much so, you leave hungry. I find this bonefish to always have good service and great piece of blackened mahi mahi. The bar and dinning area has plenty of tables including at least 20 seat bar. Selection of wine and beer is decent and this last time I have noticed good selection of bourbon. Our waitress was LeAmber and she was incredible. She has a full knowledge of the food & drink menu. She went over several options for food. Checked in on us. And helped make our final decisions. We started with the Bang Bang Shrimp & it was sooo good! I could have ate an entire appetizer of it to myself. My friend ordered the rainbow trout with chimichurri for his entree (per LeAmber's suggestion). I ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke & the Pumpkin Ravioli (per LeAmber's suggestion). I'm not sure how much longer the Pumpkin Ravioli will be on their "specials menu" but if you go & it is still available, do not hesitate to get it! It was one of the best things I've had to eat in a while. The word I kept thinking of while eating it was "elegant." It was full of flavor. Not overly pumpkin but just enough. Absolutely delicious. Horrible, just plain horrible. I ordered the mahi-mahi with shrimp. The Mahi-mahi was 2" x 2.5" and it was incredibly overcooked and dry. The shrimp were acceptable but nothing more than that. Wife got flounder and it too was overcooked and "swimming", pun intended, with pin bones. Worse than all of the above was the service. For a nicer restaurant it was pathetic, rushing to get us out to turn the table. Never gave us his name. Too many mis-service items to list. Piss-poor management. I'll never be back. read more

I previously rated this restaurant a 4, now it is a 1 star. Service was sad. The waitress didn't even apologize for the food or poor service. She had dirty hair and she could never be found. I hate to send food back and rarely do I ever do that but when it comes back worse it is Inexcusable. First the thin filet was pre-cut and overcooked then the thin fatty grisly filet came back rare. The Augratin used frozen cottage fried potatoes that they used a general bechemel sauce then threw a handful of shredded cheese into the salamander oven. The Mac and cheese used the same sauce and threw cheese on it. There were so many disappointments. From quality of food, cooking technique, and quality of service. This place was better than we expected! My boyfriend and I started with drinks. I got the blueberry red sangria and he got the smoked old fashioned. Both were amazing. The presentation on the smoked old fashioned was so fun! Then he got the chimmichurri filet and I got the old fashioned salmon. Again, both were amazing. The broccoli was just okay. Nothing special. The kung pao brussel sprouts were pretty good. But the best side was the garlic mashed potatoes. Perfect texture and flavor! The service was nice and kind and super quick.
