We've been fans of Bonefish from the start, at least 10-12 years here in Louisville, plus vacation dining also. Had its ups and downs....wonderful lunches with girlfriends to Xmas Eve takeout with food missing. So it's Mother's Day weekend. Our family of 6 celebrated Saturday with a 3p reservation. Opened at 10a. We asked for accessible seating as my husband sits on his scooter. They know we're coming. Door says, use revolving door only. Sure enough, door for us is locked. I knock. No answer. Have to wait for kind couple who go in revolving door and open from inside for us. Hostess shocked and has to prove to herself. Then gets manager who is shocked also. No I'm sorry, from either of them. People, this door has been locked since 10a and it's 3p. Plus signage says do not use!! Sit at table. Eighteen year old grandson says crumbs on paper tablecloth. I feel them also. We say nothing. Food is good. Drinks were good. Had to wait forever to get bread. Had to ask other staff to find our waitress so we could order. Not sure if she was working in kitchen or bar but never in sight. What a shame!! Soooo disappointed. For us, staff excellence makes up a huge portion of enjoying the outing. Food may be wonderful but such a rough start really takes away from our special occasion. Must mention, The guy that BROUGHT our drinks and food was EXCELLENT!!!! Personality plus. We attended a large group dinner for at least a dozen people and service was stellar. Our server and her trainee, as well as support staff, were professional, efficient, organized, and friendly. The restaurant was very comfortable and noise level was moderate with only a bit of difficulty hearing table mates seated more than one seat away. Food was delicious and everyone seated at my table was complimentary of their varied menu choices. I chose the seasonal offering of cedar plank "old fashioned" salmon with cherry gastrique glaze accompanied by steamed asparagus and whipped potatoes (substituted this for jasmine rice). We were disappointed in the quality of service. The server did the bare minimum until he placed the check on our table. I still had half a plate of food to finish. While still eating he swept underneath our booth. When my husband reached for the check he was immediately there and standing over him while placing money in the folder. This was very disrespectful. I have been to their 4 course dining experiences several times and I have enjoyed each one. The one I enjoyed the most was the martini paired dining experience. Taylor, the host, is such a sweet person and does her best to make sure everyone is pleased with the experience. The four courses were very delicious, filling and flavorful. The only con is that some dishes could have been served hotter. However I understand it's a large event and food may sit a bit before coming out. In the event your dish was not hot enough, Taylor, quickly corrected it and brought it back hot. During these events they do raffles, which is always fun to win items. For the price of the dining experience you receive a lot of food and a drink with every course. I have been to 3 of these, with the martini pairing being my favorite! I went to Bonefish for my birthday dinner. It was my first time, and it was so good and a great experience. The lighting really sets the mood, soft lighting, kind of dim but not too dark. Our server was so friendly and attentive. He was very busy with a big party and other tables and was still able to give us great service, making recommendations based on our questions and making some funny jokes/commentary. He really treated us well, and I wish I remembered his name to ask for him again. The food is a 10/10 for me. We got the Imperial dip as an appetizer. A rich and hearty mix of cheeses, seafood mix, seasoned very well with what I assumed was Old Bay. You also get complimentary bread with a very flavorful dipping oil that has pesto seasonings. I got the grilled Chilean sea bass with their lemon caper butter sauce, garlic whipped potatoes, and asparagus. All of it was exceptionally good. The sea bass was well seasoned and grilled so it had a nice flavorful grilled taste, and the lemon caper sauce added the perfect amount of tang and sharpness. It was perfectly cooked, too. The garlic mashed potatoes had the right amount of garlic, so good. And the asparagus were also very well cooked -- tender but not underdone or overdone. My dad got the bang bang shrimp, which is their signature dish. They were so good, although not as spicy as I thought they might be. My mom got the cod imperial, which was also delicious. The light cod with their rich imperial seafood topping was the right combination. I will be back. It's a great celebration spot. read more

Had dinner here for our Anniversary. Food tasted generic to some degree. Presentation was good, service was good. I had fish and it just didn't have that much taste, rice was cold and no flavor, broccoli was good. My husband ordered a steak MR and he said it wasn't cooked right, very rare. I ordered the fish and chips. some of the fish was soggy when it should have been crispy. the coleslaw had a nice citrus flavor. son ordered the shrimp and scallop linguine. it was 94% noodles and very little seafood. he exchanged it for the panko encrusted trout. it was too greasy or oily. it felt like you had a teaspoon of oil in your mouth while eating it. my wife got the Chilean seabass. she enjoyed it but I thought for $45 being it was only 3 inches by 3 it was way too small. That meal is way overpriced. Our waitress Sonya was nice but would never get us water. I had to ask the manager three times to get us water. The manager, Brittany, was the saving grace. she helped us get water, was very friendly, fixed any problems, etc. She was great! She should've been our waitress instead. It was very mediocre to begin with then they had this sauce that they put in it that ruined it completely. I got the bang bang shrimp taco and the blackened fish taco. I got the Brussel sprouts...they were decent. My husband got the mahi fish. It was super bland and somewhat fishy. The waitress saw he didn't eat it and asked if he wanted something else. So he got the chicken and shrimp. The chicken was decent but the shrimp which was fried, was salty and mushy. The fries were good, but it's hard to mess up fries. My husband's meal also came with a brownie. It was good, but the strawberry sauce it came with didn't go well with it. Overall, the service was good and the server could tell we weren't happy with our food and tried to make it right. But we will not be back because the food was not good. Had the corn chowder with crab-great, the Thai chili green beans - they were supposed to be flash fried so I assumed they would arrive with a crunch (my fault, should've asked), anyway mushy not something I would order again. For the main I had the Rockefeller Black Cod. Not a fan, the cod was cooked really well and ate that, what was portrayed as the Rockefeller topping did not have that broiled crust topping that is associated with Rockefeller. Hankering a good piece of fish I decided to go to the Bonefish Grill, off of Hurstbourne Lane. I'm gonna make a long story short. Maybe one out of 10 meals meet up to my expectations. In this case, the Bonefish exceeded my standards. My wife had the crab cakes; I chose the Chilean Seabass. A little expensive for approximate 4-5 oz portion, but WOW. From the first bite to the last, it was the most deliciously prepared Chilean Bass I've ever had; and, I have been all over the world. It was perfectly seasoned, perfectly moist, and perfectly delicious, along with my asparagus. I would highly recommend anyone that likes Seabass visit the Bonefish Grill. Horrible, just plain horrible. I ordered the mahi-mahi with shrimp. The Mahi-mahi was 2" x 2.5" and it was incredibly overcooked and dry. The shrimp were acceptable but nothing more than that. Wife got flounder and it too was overcooked and "swimming", pun intended, with pin bones. Worse than all of the above was the service. I find this bonefish to always have good service and great piece of blackened mahi mahi. The bar and dinning area has plenty of tables including at least 20 seat bar. Selection of wine and beer is decent and this last time I have noticed good selection of bourbon. I'm not sure how much longer the Pumpkin Ravioli will be on their "specials menu" but if you go & it is still available, do not hesitate to get it! I previously rated this restaurant a 4, now it is a 1 star. Service was sad. The waitress didn't even apologize for the food or poor service. She had dirty hair and she could never be found. I hate to send food back and rarely do I ever do that but when it comes back worse it is Inexcusable. First the thin filet was pre-cut and overcooked then the thin fatty grisly filet came back rare. The Augratin used frozen cottage fried potatoes that they used a general bechemel sauce then threw a handful of shredded cheese into the salamander oven. The Mac and cheese used the same sauce and threw cheese on it. There were so many disappointments. From quality of food, cooking technique, and quality of service. This place was better than we expected! My boyfriend and I started with drinks. I got the blueberry red sangria and he got the smoked old fashioned. Both were amazing. The presentation on the smoked old fashioned was so fun! Then he got the chimmichurri filet and I got the old fashioned salmon. Again, both were amazing. The broccoli was just okay. Nothing special. The kung pao brussel sprouts were pretty good. But the best side was the garlic mashed potatoes. Perfect texture and flavor! The service was nice and kind and super quick.
