Organized a Friday Happy Hour. The happy hour menu at Ruth' Chris is to die for. It's a short period from 4-6pm. You can set a reservation if you do it a few days in advance. Otherwise that happy hour spot might be full (in the bar specifically). I love the bar with TVs for....sports of course! It was the NBA playoffs so it was a perfect time for Ruth's Chris Steak house. The beverage Manager Natasha Kuvin is OUTSTANDING! Natasha is consistently kind, extremely professional & personable. She will remember you and take care to make sure reservations are kept & your experience is stress free. THE FOOD & DRINKS are absolutely salivating. The cocktails have fresh clean ingredients that taste like they were harvested that very minute. I love tequila if I drink. However, they have a pomegranate Martini that is so delicious that I abandon my love for tequila for this drink. It's a low cal but high flavor martini. Highly recommend. I REFUSE to leave without burger & fries which can only be ordered from the bar. Hence my reservation for happy hour in the bar. I am a lover of a perfect burger and this has moved to my #1 over all the places I loved when I lived in Manhattan & Boston which I thought could never be beat! It's NOT greasy but juicy with flavor. The best meat ever!! You don't need any condiments!!! It's THAT good. Please note, it takes a bit of time to cook as it's obviously made fresh and thick and chef cooked to perfection. Burger is only in the bar & fries only for dine in! If you order for pick up to go, expect house made chips and not those delicious mouth watering fries. They don't do the fries "to go". I suspect it's to retain the delectable quality of crisp to soft potato taste in each bite. The fries are so delicious. The price and flavors are perfect. Our daughter, son in law and a friend joined us to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary during happy hour in the bar area. We were cheerfully greeted by several of the staff as we got off the elevator and were seated immediately. Max was our server and he was very attentive and friendly. We had the ravioli and goat cheese and artichoke dip as appetizers. The dip was served with toasted bread and everyone enjoyed it. The meat ravioli was in a red cream sauce with spinach and was also tasty and it was a large portion. For our meals we all opted for the steak sandwich served with french fries off of the happy hour menu. Great choice. It is a large sandwich with very tender, chuncked steak served with lettuce, onion, tomato and a sauce. Fries were hot but not as crispy as I like them. My husband and I split the sandwich and they cut it in half, split the fries and served it on seperate plates, a nice touch. We were given a complimentary decorated cheesecake with berries, raspberry and chocolate drizzle for our anniversary. Also very nice and tge cheescake was very good, creamy and light. We ordered a slice of carrot cake which we all ate from and had a hard time finishing it, it was very rich, super moist and very flavorful. Valentine's Day was supposed to be a special double date at Ruth's Chris in Louisville. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. Our reservation was at 9:45 PM, but we weren't seated until around 10:30 PM. While I understand holidays can be busy, the night only went downhill from there. After being seated, we ordered two salads, stuffed mushrooms, two soups, steaks cooked medium, baked potatoes, mac and cheese, and shrimp. We then waited nearly 40 minutes while tables seated after us received their drinks, appetizers, and full entrées. When we finally asked our server about the delay, we were told the kitchen had lost our ticket. When the food arrived around 11:46 PM, it was clear it had been sitting. The salads were wilted from overdressed greens. The soups were cold. The steaks, ordered medium, were extremely burned. The baked potatoes were brown inside. The shrimp was rubbery and overcooked. Even other servers commented on how poorly the plates looked as they came out. What made the experience worse was the response from the kitchen manager, John John. According to our server, his suggested resolution was to "get them drunk." That comment was incredibly distasteful and inappropriate, especially considering one member of our party is in recovery. It was offensive and completely out of line. To her credit, the general manager was very kind and professional. She came to our table personally, apologized sincerely, and comped the entire meal. I truly appreciated her effort to make things right. However, as first-time guests, it was disappointing that such a highly regarded establishment delivered such a poor experience on what should have been a special night. By the time everything unfolded, there were no other restaurants open, so leaving wasn't even an option. Ultimately, after nearly two hours of waiting and food that was inedible, we left hungry on Valentine's Day. That was the most disappointing part of all. read more

One of my favorite places to visit in Louisville when I just want fine dining simplified. The vibe isn't pretentious as most fine dining establishments, it's real chill and laid back. Hey, what can I say about this place? It was top notch all around. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was one that can be perceived as only a "dress-up-type" of restaurant. There were many who were dressed well. We some blue jeans and caps too. We were dress casual and felt comfortable being there. There's not too many places where dinner jackets are required! We were celebrating my sister's birthday that night. We all got a petite filet special. My wife and son got the filet and shrimp. My sister and me got the filet & lobster tail. My BIL go the 12oz Cowboy ribeye and lobster with the upcharge for the larger steak. My sister and I got a side Caesar salad, and spinach. Every one else got the dinner salad and garlic mashed potatoes. The picture with Happy Birthday written on the plate with chocolate syrup, and the cheesecake with fruit was the birthday girl's dessert. For a chain, a reputation creates a certain expectation, and you can't be certain if your location will actually live up to it or fall short. I will say, the service was good and cordial, the steak was correctly cooked and very thick (petite filet, medium rare) and it had good flavor. These are served on very hot plates, sizzling in fact, and I think that tends to keep the steak cooking rather than letting it rest, but I ate it quickly enough that it didn't matter. The scalloped potatoes were on point, the cocktails well mixed (especially the espresso martini!) and I would say that while we prefer a couple other places in town, we were not disappointed by coming here. The patio can be hit or miss depending on the day, but it offers good views. And if it's your birthday, you'll get a little something special! read more

We were lucky enough to get a last minute reservation in the bar area on NYE to begin the celebration of our 2nd Wedding Anniversary, it was early so it wasn't busy yet and rather quiet. When we arrived we were greeted immediately and were escorted to our table a few minutes later. Once we notice the actual bar was available we opted to sit there instead, since we are bar sitter's. *There is usually a Happy Hour Sunday - Friday 4-6pm where they have a special selection of hand-crafted cocktails, wine and beer as well as some full-size appetizers and entrées. They also offer a sizzling 6 oz filet topped with three grilled shrimp, paired with a glass of DAOU Cabernet starting at $42, but neither are applicable on Holidays just FYI. We started with a round of drinks, I got an Espresso Martini and my husband had a Dirty Goose Martini which were both really good, and they even used real espresso!! We then ordered and split the Wedge Salad and the Spicy Shrimp. Don't fear the shrimp wasn't that spicy (to us anyways, I know everyone's spice level is different) but it was delicious and full of flavor. I noticed a Red Sangria sitting in the well for another guest that peaked my interest so I ordered one to finish and was pleasantly surprised on how good it was. I am definitely a Red Sangria connoisseur and I always say it, they are not made equally but this was devine. The restaurant in on the 16th floor and most likely, has the best view in Louisville. The restaurant has tasteful low-key decor, and very comfortable bar stools. The service we received was polite, efficient and friendly throughout our visit. Ruth's has a very nice happy hour Sunday - Friday 4:00PM - 6:00PM. The menu choices include Seared Ahi Tuna, Steak Sandwich, Cheese Burger, Spicy Shrimp, Goat Cheese & Artichoke Dip, Zucchini Fries and Artisan Chicken Sandwich. We started off with complementary sour dough roll. I chose the Steak Sandwich, which is sliced tenderloin on garlic bread with Bearnaise sauce. I really like this sandwich as the garlic bread was fresh and the steak was VERY tender and cooked to order. The sandwich comes with lettuce, tomato & onion on the side and includes a small portion of perfectly fried French Fries. My wife chose the Ruth's Cheeseburger which is a 10 ounce burger. Two of us ordered "Ruth's 3 Course for $60" with 6 oz filet, 3 shrimp, the absolute best Caesar Salad I've ever eaten, an additional side AND dessert! The other two had the Crab cakes (3) with an added lobster tail and another side that we all shared. They both had dessert also because we were celebrating their birthdays! Everything was amazing! Our server Beverly (who has worked at the Louisville Ruth's Chris 28 years) was very professional yet friendly, continually attended to our needs. Took the kids to a fancy dinner, and man, did Ruth's Chris hit a home run. The steaks were great, cooked to perfection and came out on a sizzling plate to ensure it stayed warm the entire meal. Cool touch. We got brussel sprouts, mushrooms, and creamed spinach as our sides and all were very delicious. Ms Rebecca was a great waitress and stayed on top of refills, and ensuring everything came out properly. I've never been, so this was definitely a nice treat. There was a SCREW in my water So this Thursday was my birthday and my mom wanted to take me here for my birthday, I saw the server maybe 3 times the second time she came she took our orders and dropped off a water craft, our food came from a runner it was delicious but when we went to refill our waters we noticed a screw in our craft, my mom had drank some of the rusty water at that point but our server didt come back until we needed boxes and that is when we told her about the screw, she took it away and did nothing, no apology no manager came out and honestly Thats crazy for this level of restaurant, at the restaurant I work at this would never fly. The service was very nice and patient to newcomers. Wait time for people who did not have a reservation was about 7 minutes and it took about 20-30 minutes for the food to come out. The Lobster Bisque was good and flavorful but the after taste was bitter. The Calamari was probably the best thing ordered. The Asian style sauce coating the crispy fried squid was easy to eat a table pleaser with kids. The Sea Bass was really good choice of a seafood option if you're not looking to get steak. I really enjoyed the steak. The ribeye is my favorite cut. You can never go wrong with the sides, lobster mac & cheese and that mushroom goes well with anything. I would pass on the goat cheese, artichoke dip. It has a unique flavor and I personally do like goat cheese, but it's an acquired taste for sure. The staff were nice. Well, the food was on point and made exactly the way it was ordered... We ended up coming here as part of a company outing, but I was overall disappointed. If you were to do a pick up for food, then I think this would be a great place. It is clear that there is no investment being made in the concrete floors that surround the decking, the shabby looking chairs need replaced. I've never seen smaller bathrooms. basically a postage stamp of a room with two stalls where their is little room to turn around. One faucet wasn't working at all. It seems like it's only made for super skinny people. It's not wheelchair accessible. If they do have a wheelchair accessible bathroom they certainly don't advertise it. Carpet is run down, all the chairs should be replaced. The servers were clean, well kept, the linens were beautiful-the silverware was clean. It's just I've never actually seen such weak tea. It might as well have been water.It was being poured out of their pitchers, so I take it but they make their drinks ahead of time for large parties. I'm glad we didn't actually have to pay for this meal because it would've been great for the food but a disappointment otherwise. Ruth's Chris - I do realize you are a steakhouse. That said, sometimes people who do not eat steak still do eat at steakhouses, and sometimes (actually, more than sometimes) those people like to have options. As a plant based eater I often enter steakhouses (when required to) with some degree of trepidation, wondering whether there will be anything available for me other than greens, steamed vegetables, and maybe if I'm lucky a baked potato (plain, of course, because butter, sour cream, and bacon are not so much plant based). Some steakhouses go above and beyond, offering a signature chef's vegan power bowl, a pasta entree, or even a variety of grilled veggies with tofu. Ruth's Chris does not. Here is what they do offer: - Steak house salad (modified to exclude the parmesan garlic croutons). It was fine, but not particularly flavorful or inventive. - Broccoli steak: I see what you did there, Ruth's Chris. Steak. Ha. Good one. Unfortunately everyone needs protein, and the broccoli steak is lacking in this nutrient. It DOES have excellent flavor, is cooked well, and seasoned nicely. The onions and peppers are a nice touch, but no protein. And steakhouses should know how to do protein, animal-based or otherwise. - I was not offered a vegan side (which would have been a plain baked potato) because our server assured me the broccoli steak would be plenty. It was, but one can always take home leftovers and I would have liked the option to enjoy a side while my dining companions enjoyed theirs (creamed spinach and buttery, garlic mashed potatoes). - No vegan dessert options, except our server did offer to bring me the berries that typically would adorn the cheesecake. Overall, Ruth's Chris wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't good. I have been to Ruth's Chris twice now. I have fully enjoyed both times. The filet is top notch and it's so incredibly delicious. My partner really enjoys the stuffed chicken breast and it does look amazing! This most recent trip, we got Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts as our side. Unfortunately, the Mac and cheese came out cold. I'm not one to complain about food or send food back; however, I had to this time. It was actually cold and for the price, that's not acceptable. I informed our waiter and he was so nice about it and took care of it. We got a fresh and HOT Mac and cheese served to us and it was delicious!! This most recent trip, we were celebrating our anniversary and we got a complimentary dessert. It was a little cheesecake with fruit and it was incredible! I fully enjoyed that and it was the perfect size. We ate a little earlier this time (5:30pm) and it wasn't super crowded. We had such a good experince here recently. It is becoming one of my favorite special occasion places. The setting is so cool and unique. It's in a high rising tower at the very top. When you get in the elevator there you'll see a label instructing you what floor it's on, pretty easy to understand. For my meal I went for the stuffed chicken breast, and then ordered sides of Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese. The chicken is so good, flavor in every bite and it comes out pipping hot. The steaks get all the hype here but I'd probably put this right up there as the best thing you can get. The sides were fine after a small fix. The Brussels sprouts were good but the Mac and cheese came out cold, was not even lukewarm. We told our server and right away he took and back and brought out another one later that was hot and tasted very good. I'm not normally one to complain but since the sides here are 15 or so a piece I wanted my moneys worth lol. Not mad at all though considering it ended up ok and our server took it off my bill, when really it wasn't a big deal at all. Speaking of service, it is incredible here. They really make you feel prioritized. We told them it was my anniversary with my partner and they brought out a small cheesecake that said "happy anniversary" in chocolate. I left our server a pretty large tip (I normally just leave 20-25 percent or so) but he really deserved it. I may have dined too early (5pm) as I would have preferred a darker and more moody ambiance. As an appetizer I had the goat cheese and artichoke dip. If you like goat cheese you will enjoy it. For dinner we had the filet Oscar style and lamb chops. As well as shared potatoes and creamed spinach. Everything ranged from good to great. They thoughtfully sent out a complimentary anniversary cheesecake. To me it tasted like sour cream. The crème brûlée was excellent and the flourless chocolate cake was as rich as could be. Went here for the first time for my mother in laws birthday. We all got steaks and they were cooked perfect. The plates come super hot which kept the steaks nice and warm. Sides were also terrific. Bryan was our server and he made the experience the best ever. Highly recommend! It was a little loud but not bad! read more
