The battered fish and chips is my favorite and I get mine fried hard. Served with fries. Service Awesome impeccable and Ambiance always nice. Cosmos are the bomb and the butter crackers the shrimp appetizer is so fresh plump and good. The cocktail sauce is divine delicious.
Great food! Enjoyed their oysters and the crab claw sandwich. Their fried mozzarella was SO GOOD! I definitely recommend ordering that for your appetizer
We had a great lunch at Franny's Seafood in Louisville's Schnitzelburg neighborhood. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with excellent service throughout. We started with three varieties of oysters and a glass of Albariño. The oysters were very fresh, and the red onion and pickle granita added a bright, briny contrast that elevated each bite. For mains, my mom had the fish and chips with a light, crisp batter and house-made tartar sauce with dill and pickles, along with a pomegranate cosmopolitan. I had the Blue Crab Smash crab cake sandwich with onion rings; the crab was rich and meaty, and the dipping sauce stood out. Everything was fresh, well-executed, and thoughtfully prepared--a standout seafood lunch we'll definitely return for.
First off this is in a neat area of Louisville. Lots of restaurants and just a neat vibe. Very busy area. Lots of restaurants in old buildings that have been renovated. Franny's appears new construction and it's on a corner and it's blue so it does stand out. Street parking which can be challenging but does allow you to get some steps in. Now docked a point strictly on the service. We walked in without reservations. The patio had a couple of tables open so we asked to be set at one. Then the waiter took out order. He brought our drinks and took our seafood chowder order. Then disappeared. Two other tables came and were seated and after the second one got their soup he came to take our main meal order. I asked where our soup was and he lied and said it wasn't ready. Well it probably wasn't as I don't think he put the order in. Anyway when it came it was delicious and the salmon and succotash were delicious also. The food was awesome and the old fashion was good. Service was not.
I was excited to go to Fanny's because I really enjoy fried this. The food was mid-level. The fish was a little salty. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. My food was okay. The atmosphere was okay as well. Nothing really wowed me or won me over,
If you're looking for killer seafood Franny's has you covered. We stopped in on Friday night and it was a full house, they made space for my girlfriend and I at the bar and even though they were slammed we felt at home. When it's busy being acknowledged right away diminishes everything, so props on the entire staff at Franny's Started with a custom cocktail and Brian who took care of us jumped right at it. Another thing that I was really impressed with is Brain was completely transparent about not knowing how to make what I asked of him. That shows tons of strength and skill. (If anyone from Franny's is reading this review, please keep that man as long as you can. He's a gem) After our first round of drinks the bread and oysters we had ordered arrived. The bread from a local bakery (Blue Dog) was hot and fresh and never stood a chance as we made haste of it quickly. The oysters had a fun little spin with fried saltines and a red onion slush and a dill slush along side a cocktail sauce. We enjoyed this little twist and talked about enjoying them on a hot day would be great too. After we finished the oysters and bread, round two of drinks was upon us. I ordered a custom martini that we were able to dial in by round three of drinks. With the third round of drinks came the jumbo shrimp cocktail and chicken piccata. The Piccata was wonderfully balanced, vibrant and briny. The chicken and pasta were cooked to perfection. The shrimp cocktail was the star for me and I would say there is only one spot here in town that might rival it. We finished with espresso's and key lime crème brûlée and it was one of those dessert that you are puzzled how it was gonna work and it was simply delicious! Props to Brian once again for asking all the right questions and taking feedback. The collaboration we had back and forth was truly a memorable experience and solidified our return. Thanks Franny's, we're looking forward to our return.

So happy Franny's in our neighborhood. The happy hour is so great. 3-6 M-F. My sister got the $7 mozzarella sticks and loved them. Right amount of breading and crispness. My go-to is the raw oysters ($2.50). The iced granita toppings are special. My husband loves the fish & chips and the shrimp roll. Upgrade for perfect onion rings. What's not to love about a $5 cosmo or martini. I want to make this a weekly occurrence for myself. Glad the prices make that possible. Oh, the complimentary birthday dessert is top notch, too. Wonderfully tangy key lime crème and nice crack on the brûlée.
It's been a minute since I gave a 5 star review. I can't wait to come back here. Everything we got was really good (special nods to the charbroiled oysters, crab claw sandwich & French fries). Staff were nice and attentive. Restaurant was clean and had a non-fussy northeastern vibe making it comfortable. No notes. Loved it!
So we waited like a month since it open to let it work out their kinks and I will say everything was fantastic when we checked it out. It's amazing to have a nice seafood restaurant in the Germantown neighborhood and I can see patrons coming in from all over to check it out. Service was prompt and timely in terms of spacing out drinks, apps and entree. I am sure the pictures speak for themselves. I have visited them twice an both times wonderful. Once was for happy hour when it was less hectic and the second time it was at the peak dinner traffic. It could get really loud in the restaurant when it's busy but I would take loud over lingering seafood smell. That's the nice thing about the place .. don't smell like raw seafood. I would highly recommend to give it a try and support local joint.
Sam was an excellent accompaniment to our meal He answered all of our questions and provided great service. The food was very good especially my wife's salmon. I expected larger shrimp when it said Key West Pinks, but they were good. The atmosphere is clean and sleek with a nautical undertone and made for a pleasant atmosphere and afternoon.
We stopped by Franny's for happy hour during the holidays! It's an incredibly welcoming atmosphere, with tall ceiling and brightly lit interior. We arrived around 4:15 pm during the weekday, we were immediately greeted and asked if we had reservations, which we did not. Fortunately, we were seated at a nearby two seater. Service was fast and friendly! Server went over happy hour menu and made a few suggestions. They have a great happy hour - $5 martinis and cosmos with a few appetizers including mozzarella sticks and oysters. Drinks and food came out fast - bar was packed and parties continued arriving while we dined there. Mozzarella sticks were fresh and homemade, three came in an order for $7. The owner came around and chatted with us - as the evening progressed, lights dimmed and it became more of an evening vibe. We'll be back!
I'm having a tough time judging this place. The quality of the fish seemed very good and the service was wonderful. However... Fish and chips: the fish was so lightly breaded that it wasn't really crispy at all and when they played it half of it got soggy. The fries it was served with were bad. No seasoning, and not crispy. Fried fish sandwich: almost the same notes. The fish was so lightly breaded that it wasn't crispy at all. The bread was good however. I ordered a glass of bubbly and it was served at room temperature. Bleh. The ambiance was very clean, seaside, east coast. Seemed casual and family friendly I will be going back to try the clam chowder and oyster happy hour.

Franny's is a wonderful change of pace for the restaurants in Germantown. I stopped in with a group of three on a Sunday night and it wasn't too crowded other than a few larger groups. It's beautifully decorated inside and it does give a seaside vibe without being obnoxious or cheesy about it. We started with a few drinks and the crab Rangoon hush puppies. They weren't my favorite I think because of the sauce but everyone else enjoyed them. For main courses we got the salmon, fish and chips, and the shrimp roll. All had generous portions and you could've easily split a few things for the table. No complaints on main course. Dessert we opted for the key lime crème brûlée and it was 10/10. Perfectly tart but not too sweet. Only complaint is service was a bit slow for how empty the restaurant was. We nearly finished our first round of drinks before we even ordered food and our second round of drinks didn't arrive until we were almost done eating. Overall a great spot to check out and I imagine it'll be a perfect patio spot once the weather cools down a little bit. read more

We came here with a small group after thurby. It was perfect! Service was amazing, I can't remember our waitress' name but she was very sweet. Food was delicious!!! Onion rings and fries were to die for. Whole group was happy with their entree. Street parking. read more

What a lovely addition to Louisville! Came here with a friend on a Friday evening to enjoy dinner and their happy hour. I ordered the cosmo to drink and it was so delicious!! We got the oysters and mozzarella sticks from the happy hour menu and loved them both. I got the shrimp basket, a bit on the expensive side but it was really good! And you get a nice decent portion. My friend got the fish and chips and she stated they were yummy. The staff was warm and explained everything to us. Very knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance was very busy but it is lent. Not sure if that is why it was jam packed. I do recommend reservations. All in all will definitely be back and will recommend. Could be for family, date night or dinner with friends. read more

this was my first time here. we thought it was excellent. first, we got the cheesesticks and they were huge. then, we got the crab ragoon hush puppies. they were excellent. we all ordered the fish and chips. the fish is hake which is a mild flavored white fish which resembles cod. the fries and onion rings were both good. my son got the linguine with lemon butter and capers. we all tasted it and thought it was fantastic. for dessert we got the Nutella ice cream pastry dish which was superb. our waiter, John, did a great job. we met the owner and was a pleasure to talk to. they give a military discount. the side salad was good. read more
We visited during lunch and there were plenty of seats available, but we had a reservation. We were immediately seated and water glasses filled. The main dining room area is bright with high ceiling that had controlled acoustics. We were able to quietly converse between the two of us. We skipped appetizers, but I will try the hush puppies next time. I ordered the fish and chips and hubby got the fried shrimp roll. Both came with fries. My cod was a nice size and so light, flaky with a batter that was light and well seasoned. The tarter had a mild dill balance and was perfect without overwhelming the mild fish. My fries were seasoned, a little softer than crispy but good. Hubby's roll was piled high with shrimp, the remoulade was balanced against the pickled onions. His fries were slightly crispier. We will definitely return. The Wait staff were welcoming and service was fast. read more

Fantastic drinks, amazing seafood, and some of the best oysters around. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the bartender made the night memorable with excellent service and creative cocktails. Pomegranate cosmopolitan and Grapefruit Manhattan were amazing. Ambiance was perfect. Comfortable seating, lighting was amazing. It wasn't too loud. Second attendance, but now at the bar. Wow. Same experience as the first. Sam, John and the GM Chad were on point and so was the food. I can't express how please we were with the happy hour experience. We live in Fisherville and both dont mind the drive downtown after a long weekend of work to meet up and just unwind with great food, drinks and service. If we lived acrossed the street, this venue would be sick of us. Love D&D read more

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the Cap Cod Shrimp Roll but it was fantastic. I didn't get a picture because I ate it too fast. We went on a Tuesday during happy hour and the service was fast. It's a really cute place with indoor and outdoor dining. We got both desserts and loved them both. read more

My husband and I ate here on a date night with a reservation. We were quickly seated inside and the service started out good, but quickly declined as the meal progressed. I liked the crab rangoon hushpuppies, but my husband did not. A little spicy due to the mustard. The onion rings and fried shrimp were fantastic, but the flounder and cauliflower were not good at all in my opinion. The dessert was excellent, but for the price with a tip over $130 for two, it wasn't worth the drive from Shelbyville in our opinion. Hubby said the grapefruit manhattan was the beat part of the meal. I personally waited over 30 minutes for a soda refill as our waitress seemed to disappear after our food arrived. read more
Went to Franny's last night and it did not disappoint!! Brand new and already hitting it out of the park. We had fish and chips, blue dog bakery bread and pickled pickles And veggies and some great cocktails. WE sat at the bar and the service was impressive. Sam the bartender made me a custom request. I order the pomegranate cosmopolitan with a twist. HE added snow ball ice. IT was one of the best drinks I've had in a long time. THe place was packed and the owner Megan even stopped behind the bar and chatted even though they were super busy. She is just such a delightful person and absolutely knows what she is doing. ITs like fine dining but with a casual twist. Will definitely go back as the food was prepared so well. FRench fries were crispy and the fish batter spot on. THe blue dog bakery bread appetizer with added pickled veggies was just what we were looking for with our drinks. If you're looking for a new place to try check them out. read more

Clean Cheerful place next to Hauck's on Goss Food presentation was incredible and was delicious too. My daughter said best fish and chips ever had! The Crab claw was amazing too! Prices were midrange & definitely going back! read more
