I had lived in the area for many years and never actually ate here until today. We wanted something lighter to eat after the intense holiday meal. We both ordered the Mahi Mahi and I was shocked at how DRY the fish was. Mahi Mahi is never dry???? Ive had Mahi Mahi in many places including the Hawaiian islands but this was the driest and chewy fish I've ever had. I was sadly very disappointed in this restaurant and I wonder how they stay open? We ate here last night for my sons 15th birthday (his request). We used to love coming here, but things must have changed with the cooks and the food isn't very good any more. The kids ordered the tuna bowls (they were ok) and I ordered the seared Ahi steak. When it was brought out to me the center was frozen hard. I brought this to their attention and the brought it back. I was hoping they would give me a new steak (since I ordered it lightly seared) but they brought me back my same ahi steak, sliced up (I'm assuming to get the center to thaw). It was hard and way over cooked on the outside and still frozen in the center! So disgusting. Our waiter was very nice and apologized. I'm very surprised the cooks thought this was acceptable. Bonefish is great for any meal! This restaurant should have received four stars, but keep reading, I explain why only three. I really like their lunch menu, and the service is fast enough that you will be able to get back to work in about an hour. Actually, I've never had bad service! Whenever I go I like to start off with the bang bang shrimp, and today I had the curry chicken with jasmine wild rice for the first time. I highly advise you to try this one. Love the curry flavor, and the wild rice really good! Something different than the normal Bonefish flavor. One thing to remember when going to this Bonefish is that this is a franchise, and they DO NOT honor the special prices that their corporation posts on facebook, or may send you via email. The explanation that I received was "because its a franchise, and food costs are outrageous in the state of Washington, along with the minimum wage increasing like 25 cents every year, we don't honor that". Frankly, this bothers me. If the company is advertising $5 bang bang shrimp every Wednesday (which they do via facebook, every Wednesday), and this restaurant is charging $6, its really bogus, and its a dollar, (I know only a dollar for me too, but still)..... Also, while I'm at it everyone should know about the $19.99 lobster and scallops meal advertisement on FB is wrong too. The Richland location is charging $24.99, again, due to food costs and all the other jazz. I hate to being the negative Nancy with this review, but I pay attention to specials, and if they are not honored that's not very cool. Corporate should stop getting everyones hopes up, or the restaurant should just eat the cost. That being said, I really love the food, flavors, and service so I will continue to come. Food can be hit and miss, but the drinks are always spot on. Never disappointed in shrimp dishes, especially the Saigon noodles! The creme brulee french toast and their slider burgers are also a favorite of my seven year old son. I always request Ross as a server because he's diligent and quick. I travel extensively for work and have been a fan of Bonefish Grill for years, however this location does not even come close to what I am used to. The service was ok, but the food was mediocre at best. We ordered the fried calamari appetizer and it was overcooked to the point that it reminded me of potato chips, the Bang Bang Shrimp was good. For main dishes my wife got the Thermador dish, listed as a Bonefish signature favorite.The lobster looked like paste and was cold. I got the Stuffed Cod dish whcih came out overcooked and rubbery. Like many others, I'll echo how this place used to be really good/1 of our fave places in the Tricities... now, we'll never return! On my son's 17th birthday, gave him the choice of any place in the Tricities that was opened for indoor dining. Being a teen, he first thought of burgers or pasta... but then I said, "I know you aren't big on seafood buddy, but I know you love the crab cake sandwich at Bonefish. You want Hops-n-Drops like you're thinking, or Bonefish?" He said, "Actually, crab cake sammy sounds delicious." Just for the record, we have eaten at this Bonefish no less than 50 times in the last 6-7 years. Easily spent over $5,000 in that time. I waited tables for years, I always, always tip 20% or better. Back to the story and review: I remembered crab cakes were not on the menu over the summer, due COVID. I checked, they had crab cakes appetizers, but no crab cake sandwich. So, I called them, and the front desk gal, who is always super awesome and super sweet, initially said she wasn't sure and would check. She was only gone like 10 seconds maybe, max, then came back on the line. She said she was sure they would be able to do that for us. Off we were! We got there, and were the 2nd people in the entire restaurant. We arrived not long after they opened, so before any potential dinner rush. So, one of two table when we began. We got seated, and got our drink orders, and everything was going good initially. However, after getting the drinks, we then end up sitting there for over 10 minutes before I stopped a different waiter and had to tell him we'd been sitting there a while with no food order taken. Thankfully our server had gotten us some delicious bread with the drinks to keep us busy. Anyway... He grabbed our server, who was in the bar waiting on people. We are in the dining room. She makes her way over, takes our order. We had ordered no steaks, nothing with a long cook time. Literally: -1 kids popcorn shrimp -- 2 crab cake sandwiches, one was mine. - 1 Fish tacos. Should have taken maybe 10 minutes, considering we were the 2nd people there. 10 minutes pass. 20 pass. After 25 minutes, our server had STILL not been by our table. Not once! I stop a different server and say it's been a while, can he find out what is going on with our food, perchance? He says no problem and says, "It is actually being plated right this minute, you will have it in a minute." Good enough, right? But then a minute passes. Then a few. Then 5. Then 10. OVER 10 minutes later they finally bring us our food. At this point, I am annoyed. Having waited tables for so many years, this is unacceptable, all around. The manager, who I've seen countless times, he is a male, about 5'8" tall and 240 lbs, is standing there as the food is set down. As soon as they set the crab cake sandwich in front of me and my son, I think to myself, "They have GOT to be kidding!" They used one of their TINY appetizer-sized crab cakes for the sandwich! This is *literally* less than half the size of their normal crab cake sandwich menu item. I turn to the manager and said, "Sir, you guys used a crab appetizer to make a crab cake sandwich..." He says, "Yeah?" I said, "You guys aren't going to charge us the usual price for a crab cake sandwich, are you?" And he said, "I didn't know were negotiating prices." SERIOUSLY? THAT was his reply?? It was rude, condescending, and he should be fired for that alone. Is this really the "service industry" now?? This is "service"? I was taken aback! I said, "Sir, this is less than half the size, half the amount of crab that your crab cake sandwich normally is." To which he replied, "Crab cakes are not on our menu right now, we did you a favor by making this." Another totally uncalled for thing to say! At this point, I am getting angry, and ask incredulously, "Are you serious right now? So you're telling me that you are going to charge me the full and usual price for a crab cake sandwich of something usually on your menu, despite it being less than half the size of what it normally is?" There is not a snowballs chance in hell this tiny, pathetic thing would have fed a full grown man and a teenage boy turning 17, nor made either of them full. The manager says, "Hey, I'm happy to take them from you." I said, "We came here BECAUSE of these sandwiches, for my son's birthday." I then asked the price. He REFUSED to tell me. I ask again, "I don't know." I said, "You want me to take crab cake sandwiches less than half the size of normal, at regular price, but won't tell me the price?" And he said he "would have to go look at what we charged when they're on the menu." I said, "Forget it." He said he'd get us something different, but if I ever did this again I'd be banned from Bonefish. I looked at my wife, said "We're leaving." He said we are now banned from Bonefish as we're leaving. Had a couple drinks at the bar before dinner and the bar tender was great. Then everything went south. Service very very slow tonight for a weeknight and snarky attitude was included at no charge. Manager did pay for our meal but I would rather not had excuses for poor service. Own it , apologize and move on. Would not recommend the George's Bank Scallops and shrimp. We had the Thai coconut shrimp app and that was delicious. However I ordered the salmon super salad since I am allergic to dairy. The salad did not have any avocado (like the menu said) and it was not very appetizing. The sweet potato was cold and the ancient grains were just cold at the bottom of the plate. View of the street and distant hills. Took a bit to get service though. Wine and martini arrived fairly promptly. Some surrounding patrons had difficulties with service though. Had to be comped. Food arrived appropriate temp but a little light in proportions for the price. Flavor was average. Salmon dry. Since on the patio, ok for children and toddlers who are well behaved to sit at the patio couch or walk around. My husband and I have been eating at Bonefish for many years. In the last two years we have not been eating at Bonefish as often as we used to. The atmosphere has changed as well as the menus. We ordered the strawberry shortcake and it used to be it was seve with a whole biscuit today it was served with half biscuit. Today July 27th we visited Bonefish for the first time in months. When we arrived about 5:00pm it was not very busy but I believe short on service staff because there were several empty tables with dirty dishes on them. The manager do not know his name short stocky guy; was being rude to staff right in front of us; while they were running around trying to do their job. We found that very unpleasant can't imagine how the staff felt. I am giving 3 stars because the staff was working so hard. The food took very long to get to our table. read more

Ive been meaning to write a review for this place for some time now, but I keep going back, in hopes of something being better maybe? I have this love-hate thing going on with Bonefish. On the positive side, the bar atmosphere is fun, this is perhaps my favorite happy hour place so far. The martinis are great, I really enjoy the raspberry martini and the hypnotiq breeze martini (it even comes with a blue glowstick!). The appetizers are tasty as well. Protip: You can order the bang-bang shrimp sauce on the side and they wont get soggy. Now, in my opinion, where this place fails is the actual restaurant. Ill start with the bread with pesto oil. Great idea I'm thinking. Unfortunately the pesto is salty. Like ridiculously salty every time after perhaps a dozen trips there. The steaks, well they are ok I guess but the temps are always off. Ive been asking for medium and getting med-rare. Fortunately I like med-rare but if I asked for med-rare who knows what would happen. Now for the fish.. The halibut was fine, not something to rave about but not bad. I had the pecan trout and that sucker was so greasy I couldn't finish it, I guess Bonefish thinks I need to lubricate my insides. Or something. Had a strawberry shortcake dessert there once (out of season) and it was top notch. Now, for my biggest pet peeve about this place... I don't know what Tri-Cities folks are expecting (or ok with), but when I go to a restaurant that charges over $20 for an entree, I want it to not only taste good but also *look* good. Seriously Bonefish, you fail HARD at plate presentation. More often than not the food looks like it came off a cafeteria line, no attention to detail at all. I laugh every time I see my sides in the shape of damn ice cream scooper! C'mon, that's GHETTO! I expect that when I'm pushing along a little plastic tray with compartments on it, where's my little milk carton? Would it kill them to make the little shell shaped scoop with a spoon? That's one of the first things I learned when I started working the hot line at fine dining places. Or how about, you know, a garnish like some chopped up parsley or a sprig of rosemary. Something! Just act like you care rather than slopping the sides on my plate with an ice cream scoop and throwing the protein down. Check out the picture of the steak I got (that is as-is other than me putting salt and pepper on the steak) The service tend to be good and overall I like the staff. I give the left hand side of the establishment (bar) a solid 4 stars. The right side (restaurant dining area) 2 stars. Comes to a three. Bottom line: Bring your friends for cocktails, definite thumbs up. Consider migrating somewhere else for dinner though if you want a nice fine dining experience. read more

Food poisoning both times we came here. This was despite the fact that my Mahi Mahi steak was overcooked. Anyway, as a physician I can tell you the type of food poisoning was toxin-mediated, probably from Staph aureus, which comes from food handlers contaminating the food, and not because I ate anything raw or undercooked. (Five Stars in Tri Cities, WA) The Tri-Cities is probably one of the worst restaurant destinations I have ever lived in. With the intellectual demographic, one would think that this region would be covered with great restaurants, but instead we have chains. I hesitate to call Bonefish a chain due to the negative connotation. Bonefish was excellent last night. The service was astounding, the halibut was great, and of course the drinks. We had a bad experience at Tony's on the water and I don't think we will go back for awhile. We gave Bonefish a try and it was a great treat to have great seafood at a reasonable price. I do hope we get some better restaurants, but in the meantime, you should definitely be please with Bonefish in your top 5. read more

I had the misfortune of having to go to Kennewick for a convention (no offense Tri-cityites). Everything that could go wrong did on that trip - except for my pleasant visit to Bonefish. They have a great menu & wine list. I ate at the bar and the friendly bartender , Alison, helped me decide what to eat and kept the pinot flowing. The bar crowd was chatty and mellow and it was great to watch the gold digging divorcee (divorced 4 times, I overheard) try to pick up on a fancy watch wearing guy. The way she adjusted her boobs for optimal cleavage when he sat down next to her was so sly. I could tell she's had some practice. It was quite humorous listening to her attempts at pretending to know anything about politics. She wasn't fooling anyone, but he didn't care. He couldn't keep his eyes off her "enhanced" chesticles - which is a good thing...otherwise he would have noticed the botox needle marks on her forehead and the scars behind her ears from the face lift. Was I in kennewick, or Lake Oswego. Anyway... Its a great spot and I would go back if I ever find myself in that God-forsaken town ever again. read more

The Bonefish Grill is one of the brighter stars in Richland's small constellation of restaurants. Its food is competently executed, if not exciting. For a chain restaurant, it's better than average, though not as good as, say, Legal Seafood back east. In Richland, it's a quieter, smaller setting than Anthony's Homeport, so you can hold a conversation without raising your voice. During my last visit, the wine list had shrunk dramatically. While that sped the evening's selection, it gave a slightly low-rent feel to the experience. Still, I would go back. At least until Legal Seafood opens up in town. read more

Don't go on valentines day. My group of 9 waited 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated and once we were, we were ignored for another 45 minutes. They served us bread and we never saw a server again. The place had emptied out but the servers were nowhere to be found. We ate there last night for the first time, I was very disappointed, hard chairs, plastic table cloth with brown paper on top. Order the lobster dinner, very small portion it was only maybe 1/3 of a lobster tail, I do have some food allergies and it was difficult to order because most of there food is pre-prepared not fresh cooked. Went to this place for the first time the other night w/ a group of co-workers. It was an alright experience, nothing appalling and nothing to yelp home about. I sat in a place which was along the path servers took patrons to their seats, and I had to laugh to myself about the "canned small talk" they repeatedly used: "so how's your day going?" Every 5th mouthful---"how's your day going?" C'mon change up the small talk! As for food, I ordered the trout meal, and I must admit it was pretty yummy. Their beer selection was fairly limited. The dining area looks a bit small, but it's fairly stylish. For a chain restaurant, the Tri-Cities could have done worse I suppose. read more

Best happy hour in town. The bang bang shrimp is the best appetizer! The atmosphere is an excellent environment for the tricities area and the drinks are fantastic! The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because their service could use some work. I always end up having to ask for the bread...they never just bring it out. Yet another unremarkable chain restaurant in the sea of them that exists in the Tri-Cities. (Though, don't tell that to the locals, as many don't know or believe that Bonefish is a national chain.) The food and service are adequate. The drinks are on the higher-end of the price scale and not as good as you would find at a regular bar or lounge. Like most servers in the Tri-Cities, many are pleasant (did have a rude one once) but none are skilled or impressive. The Bang Bang Shrimp is worth every penny of the $10. We often fight over who gets the final shrimp when we order it. The entree prices are a little high, but when you factor in the two added sides they become more reasonable. The bar is LOUD, and when there is a band playing (nice addition, but they don't fit inside the space) it becomes difficult to have a quiet date night here. read more

After a couple of years and probably a hundred visits, I feel qualified to write a review. The food is solid, drinks are tasty, and the beer selection could be worse. The service is typically spot-on and they often have live music on the weekends in the bar or patio. At this point in my life, when I walk into a restaurant, the first thing I start to assess is the clientele. I prefer a place where men throw on a collared shirt and women look nice. Bonefish is one of the few spots in the Tri-Cities where most of the folks at least consider leaving their flat-brimmed hat at home and swapping their Hurley t-shirt for a A&F polo. I dare say the bar is an "adult" bar where they don't cater to the shot-drinking, obnoxious crowd. The dining room is fairly crowded and noisy when full, but the booths provide some semblance of privacy. The bar, however, is where I spend my time. I really enjoy the two "social" tables in the middle. Many an evening I've had hours-long conversations with people we just met. There are a few booths - first come, first serve - that are available for small groups. This also might surprise - I believe Bonefish has one of the best burgers in town. Their "American Style Kobe" (whatever that means) burger is simple and delicious. I know it's odd to order a burger from a seafood house, but sometimes you get tired of the same old. read more

The potstickers we ordered were not only really soggy and burnt, but destroyed, and pre torn apart. The garnish was over baring to cover up for their mistakes. There was just too much of it. Me and my parter tried the Bang bang Shrimp and they tasted like they had so much mayo in it and too spicy for me at least. Plus, again, soggy. I liked the lettuce more than I did the flavor of the shrimp. We were excited to eat here but were let down. read more

Where to start... this place is REALLY good! I really dig the atmosphere, especially when there is live music in the bar. Great martini's! I've never had a bad drink here, and one of the bartenders, Krista, once made me a drink of her own concoction which I hope to have again sometime! YUM!! I always receive friendly service here, and if I'm going out for seafood in the Tri-Cities, this is the place I prefer. So much good food, and happy hour is a GREAT time to go and try a few different things. Some of my favorites; Bang Bang Shrimp, Seared Ahi Tuna (the four stars are because sometimes they over-cook the Ahi, but when it's done right, it's the best ahi in town), the Lump Crab Corn Chowder, Crab Cakes...I think this list could turn out to be pretty long. :) It's extra awesome that they are now open for lunch giving more opportunity to enjoy their delicious food. :) read more

Located in the middle of a desert, Tri-Cities isn't exactly a hoppin' sea food place, so fresh and interesting takes on seafood are few and far between. Bonefish provides a good experience and several exotic seafood dishes. Since there aren't very many other places in Tri-Town Bonefish is fine, however, given the price (25$ for a decent entree) it doesn't come across as fantastic value. If I was allowed to I would give it a 3.8 or a 3.9, but I'll round it up to a 4... ...Will re-review when I'm old enough to drink alcohol. read more
