One of the best burritos I've ever had. It's literally like having a skillet breakfast in a burrito. Everything tastes fresh. I was expecting something like the typical frozen burrito you might find in a grocery store, but far from it. There wasn't too much of anything in the burrito. Sometimes you get that burrito where half is one ingredient or too much of another. Somehow they have the perfect balance. The size is worth the value. I even got the smaller size and that filled me up. Would be a great spot after a week long hike in the mountains of Colorado! Almost forgot the breakfast tacos. Less filling , but same great taste. Friend recommended this place and it was fantastic. They have happy hour drinks from 1-3. Great ambience, almost like an outdoor dive bar. My classic bowl smothered in green chili was fantastic. The burritos seemed like a better deal. My son got the burro burrito, medium. It was too hot for him, so I happily ate the leftovers for dinner. Wife doesn't like spice and the mild classic was about perfect for her. Maybe a bit spicy but it was so good she said it was worth it Kids meals are a fantastic price as well. One kid has the rice and beens, no cheese, while the other 2 split a delicious quesadilla My tequila mule was fantastic as well. The guy at the register who I assume may be an owner was fantastic. TODAY ONLY... I love their Breakfast Burritos, and have had numerous good experiences here..However, the guy serving Burritos this morning shouldn't have quit his other job yet.... I used the App and it said my Burrito would be ready at 10:53.....I arrived at 10:45 and asked him if it was ready....He said no, but they were working on it...I sat at the Bar and waited...in plain sight....and waited...til 11:00,caught eyes with him a few times, when I finally called to him again and gave him my order number...he reached way back in the warmer and pulled it out... I understand, these things happen, and will continue to happen in life....However, it was his "put off" attitude and no apology that set Me off...Topped with a "sure" in reply to my "thanks" - without even looking at me. Heard about this place having great breakfast burritos so I looked on Yelp and the reviews sold me. The line was long and we just made it right on time to get breakfast. The wait wasn't horrible and it definitely was worth it. I ordered the chupacabra and my husband the burro. The vibe was fun, we have never been to this part of Colorado. The staff was very friendly. I'm not sold on this place despite its popularity. We ordered online in Denver (30 minute drive) and still had to wait about an hour once we arrived. It was just packed. They forgot to add the creama to my burrito which cost extra. The burrito was definitely delicious, but there was nothing special about it in my opinion. 3.5 stars. Hilarious. Literally the day AFTER I write my original review for Bonfire Burritos, they mess up a huge group order that we placed. They switched the labels on two burritos, both Burro: little giant with FUEGO spice level and original with MILD spice level. My friend's dad ended up with an upset stomach after accidentally ingesting the fuego spice level. I was late to the party, so there wasn't an opportunity to correct the mistake. I was quite dissatisfied with my mildly spicy burrito. With that said, I decided that Chupacabra Burrito with fuego spice level is the only way to go. I didn't like the Burro at all. Totally get that they're always super busy here! Still want to try getting my correct order (again) with a beer next time. read more

Used to be the goated burrito spot around town. Now it's like an hour wait. 30 minutes in line and 30 minutes waiting for food. You're better off elsewhere with the wait. I wanted to try some green chili sauce for the first time on my most recent visit to Colorado, and Bonfire didn't let me down. I was in the area for a work conference from 3/15-3/20 and scheduled a Coors Brewery tour in Golden for 3/16. Luckily Bonfire has online ordering because the two Ubers we had to take from the JeffCo Building W Train stop to Bonfire then to the Brewery almost caused us to be late for the tour! Anyway, my friend ordered a Deluxor, and I ordered the Chupacabra with extra roasted Anaheim peppers and mild green chili on the side because I didn't know what the spice would be like. Both were excellent. Yum! Bonfire was really busy (duh, 1030 Saturday morning), but our online order was ready when we got there, and we were able to find a couple stools on the rail to wolf down our bowls. read more

Very nice lunch yesterday, veggie bowl was right on, the Classic was delicious except for one flaw... I ordered the carne asada for a three dollar up charge. There was only a slight hint of added asada in the burrito. With prices much higher these days, and a lunch bill approaching fifty bucks, restaurants need to provide a decent portion size for the customer. I was looking for a breakfast burrito on a post-red-rocks Sunday Morning, the internet pointed me to bonfire breakfast burritos, and suggested ordering online to avoid the long wait time. I am very glad I took that last piece of advice. at around 9AM I ordered my burrito for pickup at 10AM. I walked in the door at around 10:05AM - Upon arrival, there was a line out the door to place an order and every seat in the place was taken. This is obviously a sign that the food is delicious, but would've been very disappointing if I had shown up on a whim without knowing to order beforehand - this is a non-problem in the end. Food was hot and ready to go, no waiting at all. They had a convenient separate spot for pick-up orders so you didn't have to navigate through any weird glares to pick up your wisely pre-ordered food. I had the classic breakfast burrito with bacon and 50/50 spicy green chili. It was not really spicy at all, so I would assume the full spicy is very manageable. There was a ton of bacon in this burrito and it was very well seasoned. Really nicely balanced flavor and not too much of anyhting - will probably get this exact order any time I am in the neighborhood and can get by this place. Portion was pretty moderate, not a crazy oversized breakfast burrito which I guess you can look at as a good or a bad thing, but it didn't leave me feeling ill which is always a good thing! After hearing all the rave about the breakfast burrito here, I knew I had to come try. Was it worth the drive across the metro? Maybe not, unless you just have a huge craving for a breakfast burrito! Burritos were decent size, you have the option of getting an original size or little giant. Roughly from 8-13 dollars for one. We ended up trying the Chupacarba which has three types of meat chorizo, sausage, and bacon. I thought the chorizo was amazing, a little overpowering over the rest meat. The green chili is definitely a contender for best all around. I highly recommend trying it at least, you can even get it on the side! Parking is not great but on the weekends, street parking is available in the neighborhood around it. Just make sure to read the signs as many spots require permits during certain hours! read more

On our last day, my boyfriend and I were going to the Red Rocks Amphitheater in the morning but wanted to grab breakfast to eat over there. I found this highly rated burrito place on Yelp which was along the way! Definitely had to check it out before we went to the amphitheater. It's located in the corner of Ford St and 23rd St. There's a parking lot with ample parking, but it can get really crowded as this place is quite popular. But lots of street parking around! There's an "outdoor" seating area to eat at after grabbing your burrito and/or drinks. I got the little giant (small) Burro Burrito and my boyfriend got the little giant Chupacabra Burrito. Our burritos were very similar except for the meats in them. I had sausage while he had chorizo with bacon bits. The prices of the burritos were relatively cheap for the amount given (peep at pic)! A good amount of food for breakfast. The burrito was suuuper good. It was crazy how good the flavors all meshed together with the proteins, starch, and green chile. Mine had a ton of green chile while my boyfriend didn't (idk why, maybe they wanted to make me cry LOL). It was a tad too spicy for me in the morning but still tolerable. The only downside was the uneven wrapping of everything as I started with practically just the tortilla flour and ended with a lot of filling (which was great) while my boyfriend started with a lot of filling and ending with only tortilla flour (he was sad LOL). First time into the actual store, although I've had their burritos at a coffee shop before. This place is really chill with lots of outdoor seating that is dog friendly. You walk up and order and they call your name when it's ready. The staff was welcoming and friendly and the whole experience was great! My chupacabra burrito was excellent, loaded with spicy (fuego) chili and chorizo. Packed full of flavor! I think the little giant is plenty big so I will opt for that always. My wife got the Jackalope with 50/50 chili and it was perfect as well. I also ordered chips and salsa - seasoned, fresh chips with their unique salsa verde. The nitro coffee was pour your own and was pretty potent (cream and sugar available in packets). I loved sitting out on the patio, which faces the mountains and it was a plus that they allow dogs. You could definitely pick up to go if you had hiking plans or you can sit and enjoy their patio and order a cocktail or beer. We will be back here anytime we visit Golden. read more

The Deluxor Burrito is no joke. It is a fantastic meat lovers dream. Caution, if you get it hot (fuego) it is awesome but guaranteed you will be tearing up and will need the 20 napkins they give you to wipe your eyes and nose. I chose the carne asada burrito and my son got tacos. When we arrived little after 1pm on a Sunday, the place was packed. It was also 95F so it was extremely hot while sitting at the benches. It's somewhat shaded but when it's that hot, outdoor seating just kills you. It does take some time to get your food, so make sure you are not in a hurry. Snagged a parking spot out front and hustled inside to order some noms. These cats were working hard and efficiently on a bustling Saturday afternoon. I ordered a burrito and a side of chips and guac. You pay at the counter, then handed a buzzer for when your order's ready. 10 minutes later, a brown bag of deliciousness awaits you. Chupacabra Burrito // this seemed like the most popular option and I can see why. Tender meat (carne asada), loaded with beans, rice, cheese and green chile. The lingering heat from the green chile was perfect. The meat cooked properly and the tortilla held up while eating. It was a VERY GOOD burrito! Although enjoyed the simplistic approach to guac, the chips weren't my favorite. They were seasoned and crispy, just not my cup of tea. The casual burrito shop is a local haunt and now I see why. We've only ever gotten their breakfast burritos (definitely want to try lunch burritos) and they're so flavorful, we always take our out of town friends here. When we first started doing take out, I feel it was a little disorganized (pick up on the back patio - sometimes we've had long waits and twice we've gotten the wrong burritos in our order). OMG OMG! We finally had breakfast burritos! They serve them ALL DAY SUNDAY!!! I cannot rhapsodize enough about these PHENOMENAL breakfast burritos and tacos! I feel like swooning or bursting into song. The flavors!!! The awesomeness! Best breakfast burritos and tacos ever. No contest. BF had the Chupacabra and Javelina burritos, I had the chupacabra and Burro tacos. TDF. Egg, hash browns, chorizo, pineapple crema, chipotle crema...a blend of deliciousness unparalleled. I have had many, many, many breakfast burritos. These were my first breakfast tacos. I also tried BF's burritos. Alas, the Javelina was gone before I recovered my senses enough to take a picture. The food is amazing and would be better if the help didn't let it sit under the heat lamp. We ordered online and got there right as we got the text saying our order is ready. We told the guy we got a text saying our order was done and he told us it wasn't. We waited 10 minutes before asking another worker our name and she got it immediately!
