Truly a gem in disguise. Although I do enjoy fine dining to some extent, some of my favorite places are actually hole in the walls like this place. Researching about Colorado known cuisines, I quickly learned that Colorado is a taco town. I stumbled across this place on my way to the Denver International Airport and was pleasantly surprised. The unique sauce has a bland of cotija cheese that I've never tasted before. The sauce truly makes the tacos and bowls here. Bonfire Burritos is also convenient located near the Coors Beer Brewery and is conveniently the closest location to get taste the Coors Beer straight from the Brewery without actually going in. We opted for the "Coors Banquet" Beer during happy hour and it was quite yummy. I am not usually a beer gal, but the beer did not have the usually pee taste if you know what I mean, so I would recommend to stop by for a delicious burrito/bowl/taco and chase it down with some cold beer. I read about this place in 5280 Magazine listed as one of the top 10 best burritos in Denver and beyond. I can't write on the experience there since one of my co-workers stopped in and grabbed burritos for the office but she did mention they were fast and super busy. When she got back to our office (in Denver) they were still hot. We got the little giant burritos and they were still pretty big. A few of us had a hard time finishing them. I got the burro with 50/50 green chile heat. It had a great kick to it and tasted amazing. Packed full of eggs and meat. Super messy but so worth it. I'm obsessed with this place. During covid I'd highly recommend pre-ordering online, plus online allows you so many options to customize you burrito. (E.g. There isn't a month that goes by without "Bonfire Burritos" being mentioned in the house. And this is a compliment! They love it here. That being said, I finally got to try it out myself and it was DELICIOUS. We went for my sister's 21st birthday (yes, they sell alcoholic drinks at 7:30 am). Their burritos are filling, juicy, and really stand out in the land of breakfast burritos. The chupacabra and the jackalope are my favorites. On a normal day I get the smaller burrito and if I'm starving, I get the giant. You can also get mimosa or bloodys or a pitcher of mimosa! I returned today, with the same friend, to try one of their breakfast burritos. We arrived around 12:20 PM and found that there was only one couple in line at the order counter. Also, there were a couple of stools available. By the time we were ready to leave, there was a long line and several people waiting for their food. My friend ordered the classic breakfast burrito and I ordered the Javelina breakfast burrito (both were large and smothered) along with 2 cups of coffee. A fork and knife are needed for these smothered burritos. Both burritos were decent, we both took 1/2 home. The coffee was decent too. Based upon my previous review, I will only return on a Sunday for the breakfast burrito and probably take it home. read more
