Bonita Golf Course is a fantastic place to play, especially if you're an early morning golfer. I usually tee off or head to the range around 6:00 a.m., and there's nothing better than watching the fog lift and the sunrise over the course. It's a peaceful way to start the day. A special shoutout to Nathanial in the golf shop. He's always friendly, welcoming, and goes out of his way to help get singles paired up on the course or pointed in the right direction for the driving range. That level of customer service makes every visit smooth and enjoyable. The course is well maintained, the staff is great, and the overall atmosphere keeps me coming back. My first time at Bonita golf course & it did not disappoint! The service we received when we got there was nice & fast. They explained to us how they will announce we were next & helped us with some purchases before we began. The food was delicious! I had the steak and eggs, and it was cooked perfectly. The prices were reasonable, and I appreciated that they offered a few unique dishes you don't typically see on other breakfast menus. I just wish there were a few more menu options. We went during lunchtime, so it was pretty busy, which was expected. The waitresses were friendly, attentive, and provided quick service despite the crowd. One of the best parts is the beautiful view of the golf course. We definitely prefer sitting outside to enjoy the scenery. The patio area has been completed and it's beautiful. Can't beat dining al fresco. They change and/or add to their menu periodically so it's always a nice surprise when we go. Bonita Golf Course Bar & Grill is surprisingly a hidden gem! I've eaten here before and the food is consistently good! I was here for a birthday celebration and the bday girl had a prix fix menu for us. We first started with pancakes or french toast (our choice), then we had 2 types of salads, followed by pastrami sandwiches and french fries. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh! Portions are big! The place is not fancy by any means, but the view of the golf course is beautiful and parking is plenty. Terrible experience--the course was under renovation, yet they charged the full rate as if it were in top condition. Out of the 18 holes, we could only play 11. Those were fine, but the rest were completely unplayable due to machinery and piles of dirt. I do not recommend playing at this course! read more

The view is fantastic! I love the decor inside. The bar chairs are leather and super comfy. Theirs indoor and outdoor seating. The downside to sitting outside is the birds will harass you a bit. Sunday morning and so excited to go to breakfast at the Bonita golf course. We go every time I come to visit family. This morning was so bad I will never go again. Gave us drinks and menus. Then the waitress never came back. A table next to us came after us , ate and paid their bill before we even ordered. Two hours later we took our food in to go containers and paid the 70.00. Finally a guy came over and took our money and we took our food to go. No one explained or gave us a heads up that they were behind. read more

Title: Rude Course Marshal & Dismissive Management Ruined Our Weekend ​I have been a loyal patron of Bonita Golf Club for over a decade. We specifically choose this course over other local alternatives because we always expected a professional experience. However, our recent experience was completely ruined by an unprofessional course marshal and the disappointing attitude of the management. ​Our group of four (all experienced golfers with 10-20 years of playing history) had a 6:15 AM tee time. We were walking, while the groups ahead of us were all on carts. Around the 7th and 8th holes, the marshal repeatedly ordered us to speed up because the holes ahead were open. We politely explained: "We are not slow; the groups ahead are just fast on carts, while we are walking. Look behind us--no one is waiting or pushing us." He completely ignored our explanation. Even worse, at the end of the round, when we politely pointed out our finish time, he snapped at us to "play even faster next time." ​Our actual photo metadata proves our pace was excellent: ​Official Tee Time: 6:15 AM (Actual start 5-10 mins late due to course pacing) ​Finished Front 9: 8:22 AM (2 hrs 7 mins) ​Finished Back 9: 10:19 AM (1 hr 57 mins) ​Total Round Time: 4 hours 4 minutes ​4 hours and 4 minutes for a walking foursome on a Saturday morning is well ahead of the average pace. The marshal's constant, baseless disruptions completely broke our concentration. ​After the round, I reached out to the General Manage. In his first email, he offered a sincere-sounding apology and promised that the Director of Golf would reach out to me on Wednesday. Appreciating his prompt response, I replied out of courtesy, saying there was no need for a reaching mel and that they could just focus on internal staff training. ​However, as soon as I let them off the hook, GM's attitude completely changed. He sent a passive-aggressive, two-sentence reply: "Please consider reply received.... We will address your concerns on our end." ​It felt incredibly dismissive, as if he was just glad to brush the issue under the rug now that I had been polite. I was deeply disappointed by this 180-degree turn in his tone. If you are a golfer who expects basic respect from both the staff on the course and the management in the office, you might want to think twice before coming here. read more

Great local course. Wish we didn't have to call in to book tee times, but it's the trade off for a mom and pop type course.

Service was good. Food was mediocre. I got the Mexican style eggs Benedict- it was interesting and not bad, but I wouldn't get it again. The sopes were just a bit tough/hard which made it a more difficult to eat. My husband got the short ribs eggs Benedict and it was a lot better. We were in the area and getting a round of golf. Came in with a group and started the day with a fantastic bartender Tiana-- friendly, attentive, and made great drinks. The food was genuinely great and everyone at the table enjoyed what they ordered. Unfortunately, when Liz became our server, the experience shifted. She was noticeably rude in her tone and interactions, and at one point rolled her eyes as she walked away from our table. It felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially in contrast to how the morning started. We were also cut off without much explanation, which felt abrupt given the lack of communication throughout. The combination of attitude and handling of the situation left a bad impression. The food deserves 5 stars, but service like that makes it hard to fully enjoy the experience. I've been stopping in to the restaurant/Bar here one or twice a week for the past few weeks when I'm in the area for lunch and a drink between appointments. Today I was sitting there as usual with my iPad planning a family trip and a lady who claims is a manager walks up to me and says "for future reference we aren't allowing people to work out of here anymore". Apparently it "ruins the vibe". I've never had an issue here before and hadn't the 30 minutes before she showed up. I turned my iPad around and said I'm not working I'm planning a family trip and she shrugged her shoulders and repeated "it ruins the vibe"...... huh?!?! Apparently, if you're a business person, don't come to this golf course with a client because it "ruins the vibe"! If that's the way they treat good & repeat customers here, I don't. I've come to the golf course to eat and have drinks for over a decade, so it surprises me that I've never written them a review. I love how chill the restaurant is and I've never had to wait to be sat down so long as I'm open to any seating. On a gorgeous day, I love sitting outside because it is a lot quieter. I do love sitting inside with my man to watch a football game, the Padres, or golf. My man is a golfer but I am not so my favorite hangout spot is the bar. Our favorite things to order are the nachos, onion rings, tots, a salad and a burger, wings, and fish & chips. Everything is so delicious. This place has my man who hates eating bone in wings...eating bone in wings. That's just how good they are. This place is totally worth coming to and they have something on the menu for the whole family. read more

I am very impressed with this place! We recently attended a birthday party here and the celebration went smoothly and excellently. We were initially anxious about parking as the golf course appeared to be vast, and based on our experience with parks and golf course events, it's always a long walk from the parking lot to the venue. Our first pleasant surprise upon arrival was that it's not a long walk at all! We loved the fact that parking is very near the entrance of the course, and it's just a very short walk to the reception venue. Service was extraordinarily superb, all the staff are attentive, respectful and friendly. The attendants took time to always check on us for whatever we need, very impressive for a private party. The ambiance of the place is relaxing-- the reception venue was spacious, high-ceilinged and just about perfect for our party of about 50 people. Outside is an expanses of green grass, soothing and calming to the senses. The food was awesome, especially the Beef Short Ribs that was so tender, you can slice it with a fork. The paella is something I will definitely crave to have in the future -- it was that good. The chef clearly is someone who knows his craft and is on top of his game. We loved every minute of this party and we will surely recommend it to whoever needs a great venue for their event. read more

First time playing this course and I'll be going back. I was tempted to drop my rating down due to one or two really dry, patchy holes, but I'll explain why I kept the five stars. The first was the overall experience. The price for 18 wasn't inflated and appropriate for the course. The guys in the pro shop were having trouble with their register but still made the check in process smooth and efficient. We got paired up with two singles and both were good guys who we might even play another round with later one. With the amount of people on the course, I was expecting a slow round but our pace was great the entire time. Maybe luck, or maybe good course management by their team, either way, I love a good pace. Yes, a few holes were a bit patchy, one was really bad (can't remember which one) but overall the greens were in good shape, tee boxes were kept up and that made the difference for me. The course has a lot of trees lining most fairways which makes it seem fairly unforgiving but it's a little deceptive, as there is room for mistakes. Which is great for my game. :-) If you're in the San Diego area and don't want to pay a high dollar amount this is a good option. Just book in advance because tee times can be tough if you wait. I'll be back for another round for sure. read more

Okay so we didn't actually play golf.. but by the looks of the greens, it appears to be well maintained . The clubhouse has a dining area with a bar as well as a large event space. I will say, the scent of burgers coming from the small restaurant smelled yummy! Lol. We were actually there for a wedding reception. They event space is somewhat L shaped with a small stage. There didn't seem to be a lot of service staff, but beverages and meals were still served quickly. We had a nice salad and the main course was chicken, pot roast, and veggies. Food was good! Their club and event area is pretty well kept. I've been here a few times for various family events and parties. Their event venue can easily hold a wedding party or large birthday party. Decent sized dance floor and stage. They recently renovated their bar and grill next door and the view of the Bonita Golf Course is pretty nice especially on a sunny day. read more

Wanted to play by myself and try a golf course out and this was one of the only courses that let me play at the last minute. Finding the place is a little tricky but once I found it parking was good. Once I arrived I was quickly teamed up with a threesome and for riding the price was reasonable (around $40). The course was ok, but the greens were really fast and the hole placement was a little ridiculous. It felt like I was at a pro tournament with these pin placements here. Not to mention the greens looked pretty bad and needed a lot of work. The over all course was decent. The issues I mostly had were the greens, how close together the holes are with one another, and the smell of the horses is pretty potent. But I would rate this course a 3 star. Still had friendly staff, and good fairways. I might come back to this course another time, but as of right now, it most likely would be awhile. read more

We have only tried the driving range so far. My son is just getting into golf (he's a disc golfer and now wants to start this for high school). The man at the pro shop was super helpful and kind. It was only $15 for 100 balls so we bought 200. This lasted him to try all his clubs and see how he's progressing. Definitely a nice course and decently priced! We will be back! read more

Haven't played here in least 15 years since I moved up north but it's in better condition than I last remembered. They're boxes were in great shape and the pace of play was good but I did play on a weekday which immure Made a difference. Noticed most of the folks playing here were retired but pace of play was still good and I noticed the snack bar food about half the price of up north. Would I come back again? Always a pleasant atmosphere, great happy hour prices, the bartenders are very sociable and professional, and the food is good too.

Meal was great. I and a bar patron were the only customers present. I had just finished a couple beers, and my burger meal - then was just enjoying my iced tea watching the NBA game up to the last 8 minutes, when the TVs were turned off. I thought there was a power failure, but no the lights were not out. As I gathered my keys & phone from my table, I mentioned to the young male MOD, I thought you guys would let the game finish? At this point I was lied to, with the gentleman saying I didn't mean to turn it off. Wow! As I was looking at him lie to me, I knew I didn't need to say anything, because he decided to insult my intelligence. Since I was the only table, he was aware of that, so if he needed to stop a game that was being watched, he should have taken the proper measures to communicate. I've been coming here for about 3 years now and decided to leave a review. I'll give the bar and grill 5 stars. Servers are friendly and very engaging and the food was good and came out fast. Plain and simple. I'll give the golf course 3 stars. Conditions were good and taken care of, greens were solid, but I feel like they overbook causing pace of play to be super slow. I've been there at the crack of dawn, early afternoon, and early evening, and still had to wait about 15-20 minutes per hole. I would probably just come here to eat and drink lol read more

Favorite spot for food and cold beers! Great staff, solid consistently tasty food and cold beers. The remodel is very nice and there is a large patio area for outdoor dining. Our only complaint is they are not open late on Friday and Saturday night so we can stay longer! read more
