I will NEVER return here. If you care about your health, you shouldn't come here either. While I was getting my nails done, I witnessed things that had my stomach churning. 1. One customer was complaining about the fungus on their nails and that their dr recommended not to get their nails done but she's getting them done anyways. The nail polish was the salon's. How disguising and unsanitary! 2. Another customer got cut and was bleeding. She was sitting next to me and this blood was alot. The nail tech continued to do the nail polish WITH THE BLOOD!!! This is completely unacceptable. How can you put the bloody polish blush back into the nail polish bottle. 3. Yes, the place is busy, however, one nail tech was going back and forth between someone's toes to someone's nails WITHOUT washing their hands and I also saw she took the tool from the customer doing the pedicure to the other customer doing the nails! read more

Horrible experience. Went in for a simple regular nail polish pedicure. Not only did they assume I didn't know Spanish, no one even said a sentence to me the entire time & was talking to other clients while doing my toes. No sense of customer service or hospitality. Didn't even give me the slightest bit of attention except asking me if the water was ok. Super rough, literally scrapping my skin while pushing back my cuticles. Left me with a nasty cut. All she did was spray with alcohol which made it bleed and burn even more. Didn't even wait for the blood to dry up after saying sorry. Then had another girl!!! Switch and do a sloppy paint job. As a health care worker , no way this place started painting my nails with salon polish on an open, bleeding wound and put it back on the shelf. NEVER again am I coming here. read more

This was a good salon located on Hillside Ave. Parking was easy as I went on a Saturday at 5PM. I received a manicure and pedicure at the same time, which were both good. The cost is one of the cheapest in the area ($55 for gel manicure and regular pedicure). It's been two weeks and my nails are still in great condition. I also got a ten minute massage which was excellent! The only limitation is that there are only 3 pedicure chairs and 3 nail stations so I would suggest making an appointment so you don't wait too long. read more

First time here and I like it wasn't a bad experience at all. Appointments are required as I was told to make an appointment first when I initially walked in for the first time. Just call before visiting!! It's a small salon but clean and cozy. Their prices are fair very much similar to other salons. I think everyone is very sweet and professional. Lourdes did my nails and she was polite and courteous. The gel manicure lasted me for 3 weeks probably could've lasted longer but I peeled the polish off. The pedicure as well lasted me awhile until I removed it. Going back for acrylic tips let's see how that goes. read more

I walk in and I'm greeted by a female that states to me she doesn't have any availability and it's by appointments only. I show her that no where in the site says that.. she's couldn't even answer me! Super friendly, decently clean. Pedicure sinks are individually plastic lined. The massage chairs are a little old with visible wear and tear but still works. They do a lovely paraffin wax dip with every manicure. read more

Nice ladies. As a guy who doesn't like clipping his own toenails (childhood issue with an ingrown toenail from bad clipping) - they treated me very well and made me feel at home and not like some guy ruining all the womens' precious escape-from-men time (wife). It's good personal treatment. I know some are very selective with their nail color applications (wife again). Since I didn't have that done, I can't speak to it. But, they seem happy and careful about the way they work so I can't imagine anything less than a quality job. I can definitely recommend it to men who could use an affordable break from the grind as the foot massage is excellent as well. I love my wife very much BTW. read more

I went to Bonita Nail Spa for the first time earlier last week. Overall, I would not go back for a few reasons - no sanitization, getting hurt from the manicure service & an uncomfortable situation caused by Jennifer for payment at the end. Nails ended up looking ok, but not w/out lots of hurt & hassle. Firstly, although this is not Bonita Nail Spa's fault, it's something to consider since a nail appointment can take 60+ minutes. When parking, I noticed that there was an hour time limit on street parking & there was no parking lot. I drove around & finally parked in a neighborhood nearby (right next to the police station) where there was 90 minute parking. I prayed my nails would be done before 90 minutes was up to avoid a ticket (there was a ticket officer walking around who I saw as I crossed Hillside avenue). When I walked into the nail salon, my temp wasn't taken & I wasn't asked to sanitize my hands (red flags) & there was a woman getting her nails done. I had an appointment with Jennifer & told the nail tech working that I had an 11 AM appointment. She told me that I would have to wait 10-15 minutes. I soon found out that the nail tech doing her nails was Jennifer. Jennifer then cleaned her hands but didn't sanitize the seat I was to sit in or any other part of the manicure table/section. THIS REALLY SKEEVED ME OUT DUE TO COVID! There were also no plastic barriers set up for the manicure section between customers & only plastic barriers between the customer & the nail tech. It was the same for the pedicure seats as well. I was expecting thorough sanitization & separation, but that's not at all what I experienced. I only stayed due to needing to have my SNS manicure re-done at that point as my nails had gotten way too long with SNS on them already & I didn't have an appointment anywhere else. Jennifer wrapped my nails to take off the old powder & I had hardly been in the seat for 5 minutes when another employee came over & tried to up-sale me for a massage which I promptly said no to. Then, when Jennifer went to take off the powder gel, she decided to use a regular used nail file & not an electric nail filing machine. For the entire manicure which included clipping, filing & shaping my nails, dipping my nails in SNS powder, shaping the powder & thinning out the layers of powder, Jennifer continued to harshly file my nails down with a regular nail file (which is a TON of filing). So much filing in fact, that it actually really hurt & I left with small cuts on the skin under the nails. Now, I have been getting my nails done with SNS powder for years & NEVER have I experienced at any nail salon an entire SNS powder manicure where the nail tech did not use an electric nail filing machine. Jennifer not using one, not only cut and hurt my fingers but also extended the time needed to complete my manicure. The nails also ended up looking thick & gloopy due to Jennifer not using a machine. I had to tell Jennifer to keep filing them down (although I absolutely dreaded telling her to do so due to the pain) in order to get them thinner & more natural looking. She also used a hand cream scrub that scratched & really hurt my skin & there was no complimentary massage as my nails dried which most salons do. When it came time to pay, I expected $40 for the mani plus a tip. However, when Jennifer saw that I was using a card she upped the amount to $42. Two dollars is NOTHING to me, but it's the principal of the thing. When I'm quoted $40 over the phone the day before when I made the appointment, I expect to pay that amount unless I add on extra services. When I walked up to the cashier stand, on a taped down paper on the counter it said tips were only in cash. I wasn't told this on the phone the day before & therefore didn't have cash on me. I told Jennifer that I had to put my tip on the card this time & I was then told to tip $8 (unprofessional). I said I would write in the tip myself but she had an issue with this. What she explained was that I needed to tell her the total amount I wanted to give ($40 + tip total amount) & that she would then charge me that amount. She then would write down on the tip line how much tip I wanted to take out from what she had already charged me so that she could take that amount out of the register for her tip. This didn't sit right with me & made me feel uncomfortable. Normally when you charge an amount on a credit card, the service amount would be charged, then there's a tip line where you write in the tip, & then there's a line under the tip line where you would write the total charge. The way Jennifer wanted me to do it would get her a double tip. I told her to charge me $40 & that I would write the tip in but she refused. I told her to charge me separately for the tip but she also didn't want to do so. In the end, I had Jen charge me $40 & I left. I would not got back to Bonita Nail Spa due to all I experienced & I recommend that you do not as well. read more

They did an awesome job. I had a 6:30 appt for dip powder manicure and the nail tech took her time and did everything perfect. Still did a paraffin treatment and all that, even after they closed. Not all places would do that and I appreciate that. Really good work. read more

I came to Bonita in search of a new place to get a pedicure, I read reviews and felt this was a good choice. The prices for me are a little high compared what i was used to for a spa pedicure but the overall experience was really valuable. Maria (sub in) did a hot stone massage with my regular pedicure and really took the time to give me a good leg massage and get rid of all my calluses. While my feet were drying she came me a wonderful massage. I will be back! read more

I'm so glad I finally found a GOOD nail salon. Mayra who did my nails did an EXCELLENT job. I cannot thank her enough! When I got there they were a little bit busy so I waited for over 35 mins but the wait was SO WORTH IT! They don't rush you at all like other nail salons. They take their time to make sure they do a good job and to make sure you're satisfied with their service. I did regular Mani and pedi for $38. Their massages (for pedicure) is the best!! They also did the paraffin wax on me and OH MY GOD! It felt so good! I can finally say I found my spot I will never EVER go somewhere else, I will be coming back to this place to get my nails done with Mayra again. She's a sweetheart! The technicians at Pink Nails are amazing. Not only are they friendly, but they also do nails very well. My mom, sister, and I have been going to Pink Nails for years - it's under new management now and they are as good, if not better, than the last folks who owned it. Prices are standard, and the service is great. My mom gets wraps/gel french and has VERY sensitive skin - her nail beds are prone to bleeding. June is very gentle and my mom hasn't had a problem since. In fact, her nails are needing less maintenance work! Regular mani/pedis stay for the standard 1-2 weeks, and gel stay for 2-3, sometimes more. All in all though, you CANNOT beat the staff! They're wonderful ladies who will pamper you and take good care of your hands and feet! Also, the salon is VERY CLEAN!! read more

I recently moved to the neighborhood and have been looking for a good nail salon. I don't go often but have had my share of experiences at various ones. Bonita by far offers the BEST services for nail care! My toes and feet desperately needed a pedicure so I opted for the peppermint spa pedi. Jennifer took her time with my feet to make sure all the callous was removed and that they were cleaned and polished immaculately. It's now 6 days later and it still looks like I just got them done. The regular mani I got is also top quality. Complimentary paraffin and a free massage that exceeded the length of other ones I've gotten before. This will now be my go-to place. Blanca cut me more than 5 times and continued to file my cuticles without soaking them... bandaids for a week!.. my cuticles are mangled and hurting on both hands. Ugh. If possible would give this place 3.5 stars- there was a lot of things i did like however i was underwhelmed on my experience. The good: I was able to make an appt. online which was great! They had complimentary paraffin with my manicure which was lovely. One of the big pro's for me was that the manicurist soaked my cuticles before cutting which is how it should be done but all places don't do. The place seemed clean as well. The underwhelming part: After coming here my hands smelled sort of funky which was a little weird. I got a massage which one part of my body was focused on more then the other ( the side that i didn't have pain in which shows that they aren't that well trained in massages because they couldn't tell where i had tension or any tightness TRUST ME, its noticeable to someone who has little training). I was also charged 20% MORE for a massage then the price on the brochure which was unprofessional. I inquired and i was told that's how the owner charges which leaves me feeling uneasy. This place is awesome! I've been coming here for about two years now every now and then to get my eyebrows waxed. I've butchered my eyebrows many times when i was younger by tweezing them and would come here to get them fixed and the technician (short with curly, shoulder-length hair) is fantastic! She would very carefully and tediously wax and tweeze my brows and make them perfect. Considering they were only $5, I'm surprised how much effort they put into making them look stunning. Even when I'd mess up or if I just came in for a clean-up, the woman always followed the exact shape I wanted. I always left satisfied. Onto the nails. I've only gotten my nails done here two or three times despite the countless times I've come here for eyebrow waxing. The first time I got a regular manicure-- and that's what it was. A regular manicure for a good price. Polish was clean and lasted about 5 days. Today I got a pedicure and a gel manicure. The pedicure came out very nice. The same woman worked on my gel manicure and it came out gorgeous. They were willing to meet my requests and made sure they did exactly what I wanted (nothing complicated, I just wanted a glitter overlay but they really made sure they got the type of glitter right; thin vs chunky). The technician was very sweet and took her time. At the end there was some of the topcoat gluing my nails to my cuticles, but she fixed it with no problem. Overall: come here! There's usually never a wait (if there is, it's NOT long), the technicians are friendly, they take time in their work, they listen to your requests and make sure you're satisfied, and the environment is clean. read more

This place was recommended for manicure art I wanted done for my daughter's wedding. I wanted a variation on a French manicure - pale pink base with extremely dark red, nearly black half moon shaped tips. Visited the shop 2 days before the wedding and brought photos. Once they said they could do this I made an appointment for the next day. The manicure they gave me was didn't match the photo at all - medium red color painted over nearly half each nail creating harsh looking chevron points. When they realized it didn't match the photo, they added silver glitter polish to the edges of the red. This didn't help. I put up with what they were doing for I thought it might I look nice it once they finished. Unfortunately the end result was a cheap, amateur looking manicure that didn't match even vaguely what I wanted or the dress I planned to wear. By then I had run out of time to find a different place to give me the manicure I wanted. And, yes it gets worse, ...I asked for callous removal during my simple pedicure. They were so abrasive that my feet hurt for over a week. read more

I'm sorry to say that all the positive reviews on here really steered me wrong. I had a very different experience. The young woman with the very long hair was very rude and just because I brought my own cuticle pushers and trimmers she made another worker who was in the middle of doing a manicure on another customer leave that customer and switch with her. Seriously? I was so kind and passive and haven't had a professional manicure in over 20 years because back then my nail got affected by an unclean pedicure. I told her that nicely, but, whatever.. The next woman was nice but filed one hand's nails much shorter than the other, MUCH. It looked like two different hands and I had to ask her to make them the same. There was a fly infestation, so one worker was standing on a chair swatting at them to try and kill them for about 20 minutes, and the workers talk to each other in another language and laugh while they are working on customers. I still tipped 35% because I used to work for tips, but it wasn't deserved. read more
