That was a really good sandwich! (the Bonita Sandwich) I really like the bread they used.

No no no, not the one from South Park. Cassey and Caleb mentioned this place a few times and when it came time to pick a place to grab some food, we flipped a coin for option A or B. Casa Bonita was option A and B was Adelitas. Well, we know how that coin flip went. Yes, this place has the same name as the famous restaurant in South Park but it is an independently owned place and has no relation to the show. Anywho, we dropped in on a quiet Tuesday afternoon and quickly ordered drinks and a three dip appetizer. We munched on chips and salsa/queso/quac while sipping beers and shooting the breeze. As with most Mexican-style restaurants, our food was ready in no time flat. I think I got the Burrito Grande and no clue what Cassey got but both meals looked good. Mine came with a sopapilla and Cassey had to explain the proper way to eat it since I was mildly confused on how my food looked. For the burrito, it was all the non-meat toppings on top of a tortilla shell with the meat inside that. I was going to put it all on the sopapilla and make my own burrito/taco until Cassey said I was supposed to eat it separately with the provided honey. After getting my situation figured out, I dug in. My meal (and the three dip appetizer) were all great. I was hooked on the queso dip. Their salsa was spot on. Guac... well, I'm not a fan of it. I don't hate it but I don't care much for the flavor or texture. The sopapilla was really delicious on it's own. I tried it with the honey but preferred it by itself. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and time at Casa Bonita. The place still has a 'newness' feeling to it and I guess that makes sense since they only opened up a year or so ago. One neat feature that is more common in coffeehouses is the artwork on the wall is from local artists and is for sale. I know Santa Fe and New Mexico as a whole is a very artsy area but it was cool to see, even if the price tags on some of the art was outside my budget.

Bonita's was recommended by a few friends and my husband is super picky so it took a lot of convincing lol but I'm so glad he agreed to try somewhere new!! He loved it and I was so glad they serve the full menu all day because I had to try the Migos! I make my own version at home and theirs was so delicious My husband got the ribeye with enchiladas and wasn't disappointed!! He loved the red AND green chile! Everything was the perfect. The service was amazing and you should definitely go for happy hours half off appetizers!!!

Alex the bartender is welcoming and energetic. He is a mixologist. If you want it; he can make it or provide a great suggestion. We had so much fun!! Margaritas and two appetizers before 5pm is half off. We had the coconut shrimp and carne arvada nachos---delicious! Friendly welcoming local crowd It was a BLAST

Talk about a little out of the way joint with a big appetite for pleasing folks! The tacos here are amazing! The service is quick and friendly, and the prices amazing. It's a hidden gem worth seeking out.

Chicken enchiladas with beans, rice, salad and a huge sopaipilla
    Greg B.

I used to think Tomasita's had the biggest and best sopaipillas in Santa Fè. Today we enjoyed a nice lunch at Casa Bonita that included the biggest sopaipilla I've ever seen! Our lunch of chicken enchiladas and a chicken wrap were delicious. The servings are very ample for the reasonable prices. The restaurant is modestly decorated, but very clean and comfortable. A great place for lunch in the midtown area.

    Mariachi band

Best fish and chips in NM!!!! Amazing all woman mariachi band. Supper friendly people.

    Huevos Yucatecos

Food and service were amazing, so happy we decided to try something new. I'll be sure to add to my list of recommendations for Santa Fe.

My cheeseburger on a sesame seed bun with green chilies, grilled onions, pepper, jack cheese, and all the accompaniments was probably one of the best burgers I've had in a very, very long time. Outstanding. My dining companion had her burger with green chilies and grilled onions and pepper jack cheese, and all the compliments served on a sopapilla bun. She said it was not good, it was marvelous, stupendous outstanding. The sweet potato fries were outstanding... Crispy, tasty and the serving was huge We were the only patrons in the restaurant at the time, but it had a friendly vibe to it and dislike a down home friendly Mom and Pop restaurant. Now, the tamale oh my goodness I've never had such a moist tamale maybe the best tamale I've ever had. The pupusa was delicious and they didn't skimp on the cabbage salad. The outdoor patio is secluded and quiet, and the indoors offers plenty of seating in a historic setting that's bright and fresh. On the food side, Palacio cooks their red Chile for over 8 hours, making it in my opinion one of the best and most flavorful in Santa Fe. Most other places I get Christmas style, but here, the red Chile is just perfect. On this trip, we had a smothered breakfast burrito and enchiladas suizas.
