I'm impressed! Went here twice, once for lunch, once for dinner. Feels like a family run operation with a mostly locals crowd. Staff are sweet & speedy. There's a nice quiet & shaded patio. Dining room can get LOUD if there's live music and a large happy hour group, as we experienced. The food quality is really solid and the prices are reasonable. Good margaritas also. Ordered the fajitas, very tasty and massive portion. Leftovers for days. Definitely will add this place to our regular rotation for casual dinner. read more

The food was fabulous. We all ordered enchiladas and were not disappointed! The dish was served with a beautiful fluffy sopapilla and honey in a plastic bottle, not packets. The meal came with rice and pinto beans and the red chili was perfect. It is a bit noisy, but in a pleasant happy way and not annoying. I, for sure, will go back to Bonita"s and stay for the music rehearsals on Tuesday. The server was attentive and friendly. read more

No no no, not the one from South Park. Cassey and Caleb mentioned this place a few times and when it came time to pick a place to grab some food, we flipped a coin for option A or B. Casa Bonita was option A and B was Adelitas. Well, we know how that coin flip went. Yes, this place has the same name as the famous restaurant in South Park but it is an independently owned place and has no relation to the show. Anywho, we dropped in on a quiet Tuesday afternoon and quickly ordered drinks and a three dip appetizer. We munched on chips and salsa/queso/quac while sipping beers and shooting the breeze. As with most Mexican-style restaurants, our food was ready in no time flat. I think I got the Burrito Grande and no clue what Cassey got but both meals looked good. Mine came with a sopapilla and Cassey had to explain the proper way to eat it since I was mildly confused on how my food looked. For the burrito, it was all the non-meat toppings on top of a tortilla shell with the meat inside that. I was going to put it all on the sopapilla and make my own burrito/taco until Cassey said I was supposed to eat it separately with the provided honey. After getting my situation figured out, I dug in. My meal (and the three dip appetizer) were all great. I was hooked on the queso dip. Their salsa was spot on. Guac... well, I'm not a fan of it. I don't hate it but I don't care much for the flavor or texture. The sopapilla was really delicious on it's own. I tried it with the honey but preferred it by itself. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and time at Casa Bonita. The place still has a 'newness' feeling to it and I guess that makes sense since they only opened up a year or so ago. One neat feature that is more common in coffeehouses is the artwork on the wall is from local artists and is for sale. I know Santa Fe and New Mexico as a whole is a very artsy area but it was cool to see, even if the price tags on some of the art was outside my budget. read more

Bonita's was recommended by a few friends and my husband is super picky so it took a lot of convincing lol but I'm so glad he agreed to try somewhere new!! He loved it and I was so glad they serve the full menu all day because I had to try the Migos! I make my own version at home and theirs was so delicious My husband got the ribeye with enchiladas and wasn't disappointed!! He loved the red AND green chile! Everything was the perfect. I used to think Tomasita's had the biggest and best sopaipillas in Santa Fè. Today we enjoyed a nice lunch at Casa Bonita that included the biggest sopaipilla I've ever seen! Our lunch of chicken enchiladas and a chicken wrap were delicious. The servings are very ample for the reasonable prices. The restaurant is modestly decorated, but very clean and comfortable. First time having dinner here, this time with a group of 11 from the Santa Fe Foodies. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the food; the service was outstanding, thanks to Luis and others. It was a pretty big group, but all the food came at the same time, and everything was delicious. I decided to try new dinner items; first off, the Black Mussels as an appetizer. Yes, it's not something you'd expect in a "New Mexican" restaurant, but I love mussels, and they can be challenging. Here, they were perfect (every shell open) and tender, and the sauce was excellent and quite unusual. I highly recommend it. 1lb of great mussels for $16 is very reasonable. The garlic bread for dipping is super yummy. My wife tried the Key Lime fish and shrimp, and it, too, was a real winner. Again, quite usual and I highly recommend it. I had the crispy fish tacos; they were excellent. Yes, very crispy with a great sauce. The beans and rice were very nice (the beans had great flavor). For dessert we had the Tres Leches cake which I've ordered before. It is superb! Very affordable considering the quality and more than enough food on the plate. As I said, after talking with each of the foodies, everyone approved. The fajitas and meatloaf, plus the salmon, were the most common dishes ordered by others. This really is a winner! read more

We ordered margaritas and then chips, just to soak up the alcohol--the salsa alone was so good we stayed for dinner. It was absolutely the correct decision. Excellent food and excellent service! We made a quick lunch stop and got seated right away. Service was friendly. The food was made fresh to order. My kids ordered the crunchy tacos with beans and rice. They devoured it. I wanted something that wasn't on the menu but our waiter put it together and brought out exactly what I had in mind. The restaurant is clean and busy, but not overwhelmingly busy. They had the best enchilada sauce I've ever had. We finished off with chocoflan and a strawberry fresas con crema cake. Yum! read more

Casa Bonita is located where the old 2nd Street Brewery used to be, right off 2nd Street and the railroad tracks. We ordered the tacos, shredded beef on crispy corn tortilla shells and fish tacos on soft flour tortillas. Both tacos dishes come with rice and beans were very good. I was checking out some of the other dishes served at other tables close to us and they all looked yummy. One lady got a burger and it was really impressive looking. The servers are all very friendly and attentive. They also have complimentary chips and salsa which is the norm is Arizona but in Santa Fe the restaurants all charge for chips and salsa. The place is new so right now they don't serve alcohol but the hostess said they'll have beer and wine next month, April, 2024. I recommend it and will be back again soon to try it with a beer. read more

Casa Bonita now occupies the wonderful setting that was formerly the Second Street Brewery. One of the best outdoor dining areas in town. The train tracks are just a few feet away, and it's fun when the Rail Runner comes by. Our first time there. Enchiladas were very good, medium spicy red chile. Free chips with excellent salsa. The menu looks good and is varied. New Mexican and comfort food (steak, meatloaf, fish and chips, etc.). Nice place to go with good prices. Other tables were very happy with their food.
