0 stars for me. Ordered a 2 taco combo with rice. 1 shredded beef taco and a 1 chicken taco. There was ZERO beef in the beef taco and ONE small slice of chicken in the other. Rice was cold. Awful experience. Awful food. Awful establishment. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

This place is amazing. Great vibe, food, service and the pozole has a ton of flavor. This is my new go to place.

Bonitas is a small casual Mexican Restaurant located in North Glendale. They offer some alcohol, breakfast, soups, a variety of tacos, burros, salads, combination plates, Birria, Birria Ramen, a kids menu, desserts and more! Ordering is slightly disjointed. Half the menu is on a wall and the the other half a menu is behind the counter. You order, pay, seat yourself, and someone runs out your order. My husband ordered a variety of street tacos (most were ONLY $1.50),.......also a birria taco, and rice and beans. I tried the Birria Ramen. Everything was at least good but to us some things stood out more than others. Our favorites were the carnitas, adobada, and the birria taco and Birria Ramen. These were all tasty very flavorful GOOD FOOD. The man at the counter was very nice and helpful. The restaurant seemed clean and parking was easy because they are located at the end of a strip mall with a parking lot.

This Mexican eatery is very casual, small but not cramped, the prices are good and the food is okay - quite average in my opinion. The wait for the tacos I ordered took longer than I had expected, considering the place was quiet when I was there. It's across the street from ASU West so it was what you'd pretty much expect for an eatery in a college area.

My wife and I have ordered take out from bonitas a few time. Prices are good and food is decent. Only problem is that my favorite dish - the Birria tacos - don't really travel well. I've never had them at the restaurant so I can't really judge the quality of the dine in experience, but by thine I get home with my order the taco shells are always a bit soggy. That said, the tacos are stuffed with a generous amount of meat and the consome dipping sauce is flavorful. We also frequently order the flautas which actually do travel quite well. They're also generously stuffed and somehow always crispy despite being buried under a heap load of toppings. Recently my wife ordered an enchilada style burrito which she wasn't super happy with. The enchilada sauce is a red sauce base which isn't her favorite and the whole thing was still kind of dry. Overall, this place is decent if you're in the Glendale area and jonesing for Birria and other Mexican food staples.

My wife and I got Bonitas via delivery last night and judging from the rest of the reviews, I really wish we had gone into the restaurant or at the very least gotten takeout ourselves. Don't get me wrong. The food was good, but when you've got your food held hostage in a styrofoam container being driven lazily around the city by an Uber Eats driver - it's not the restaurant, it's the delivery. I went with the bean/cheese burrito + taco combo. After the hot food is placed in the styrofoam delivery container and then wrapped up tightly in a plastic bag and then driven casually from Point A to Point B by the Uber Eats driver, the food is essentially continuing to steam itself in the container. This made the taco fall apart when I attempted to pick it up. It made the rice soggy. It made the tortilla of my burrito feel chewy. I don't think this is any fault of Bonitas. I'm sure the food would have appeared fresher and tasted fresher had we eaten in vs. gotten delivery. All in all, I'll likely be back to try Bonitas again. I want to give them a fair shot as since they've gotten a lot of positive reviews, I'm blaming this mediocre experience on the fact that we had our dinner delivered.

Birria tacos and Diablo Burro FTW. Cute little order at the front and sit down or take out place. Order came out fast, hot, best tacos I've had in a while. Crispy at the edges, meat is tender w/some charred ends, birria is flavorful and not too oily. Yumm all around.

Best thing the previous owner did was sell this restaurant. The new owners are friendly and the food is great I just had lunch here, and the only reason I even came back was because the barber told me it was a new owner. I am glad I was able to come back and try it again. It's so much closer than other places. I look forward to supporting this new owners Changed my review again. This time was a to go order and not only did they not give us everything we ordered, they put a taco on top of enchiladas vs separating them to preserve the integrity of the taco. Shame because when I met the new owners they seemed to care. But now they have seems to lose interest. Damn shame too. It's gone down hill from what it was. Glad there are several other places close by I can order from. read more

Good casual Mexican food place with typically generous portions and a simple menu. Food is always tasty and the employees are always kind and efficient, considering their food is always fresh made and isn't "left under the warmer" type of food. Highly recommend their birria tacos, baby banditos, and salsas. read more

What a little hidden gem. You can grab a cheap margarita or beer here and have some home cooked Mexican food. We were so impressed!! Coming back for taco Tuesday and this may just turn into a weekly tradition! We are so pleased. We enjoyed fish tacos, a green chili beef chimichanga and 2 margaritas. HIT THE SPOT. Not bad Bonitas came highly recommended and the food was okay. The tacos and green chili burritos were glavorful, as was the rice and beans, and I am usually extremely disappointed by the rice and beans in most Mexican restaurants. It was a busy afternoon and they might have been understaffed, however, we received our meals quickly. Inspite of the slow service, I'd go again, the food makes up for it. read more

The first time I came here I was happy with the first breakfast burrito that I got as well as the menudo soup and Birria taco .... Then I came here today and I got this; that I just HAD to post a picture of.. a mushy fish burrito? You should probably disclose to people you don't frye your own fish and you use a previously frozen fish sticks that's not fresh fish. Filiberto's even fry's their own fresh fish lol this was just gross! Along with that the Birria tacos weren't great and super soggy. Overall it was just a horrible second impression that left me stumped to never want to come back here again. Plus the young girl at the front was just flat out rude, such poor customer service, I get everyone has bad days but take your ass to the back if you can't greet people, smile or even look like you somewhat like your job. Tried taco Tuesday tacos. They were delicious. Manager told my daughter and I that Friday is $1.25 fish tacos. So came today, Friday, she was not lying. These are full size delicious tacos. I will be back to try other items on the menu. Nice clean restaurant with very friendly service. read more

My reviews have been taken down so I'm doing another one! The carne asada fries used to be amazing but this last time my friend and I went and both got horrible food poisoning! Including my son who ate from my fries! Missed work the next day as well! The fries used to taste amazing and now completely bland. They also changed the type of fries that they use to use. I won't ever go back to this facility but I feel it's important for people to know they may or may not get sick from eating here. read more

Carne asada burrito was smallest I've ever had anywhere. Pretty disappointing when it was nearly $10. Could've ate 2 of them easily. Bean burritos are $7.50 somehow and also smaller than other places, or at least more tortilla than beans. read more

Highly recommend Bonitas!! Came in for the first time after reading the reviews The food was amazing Juan offered us samples if the Red and Green Chili although I am a fan of Green the Red Chili was amazing!! It was Taco Tuesday night so Street Tacos were delicious both Carne Asada and Pollo Asada. Customer service from the young Men at the register was nothing short of great. Took home some Caldo de Albóndigas can't wait to try it. Bonitas will definitely be in the rotation. read more

I have endured weeks of people telling me to hit this place up. I finally did this afternoon and wow...I'm sorry I waited so long. This place is incredible. Great menu that finds a way to hit the mood of the four different people that went with me. We came on taco Tuesday and the special tacos were spot on. But why stop there. We also tried the street tacos (steak was great and pork was superb and not too spicy). But damn the Banditos! A mini chimi with a Baja sauce that is haunting me as I write this. Trust this place. Trust the sauce and trust the service and the good people who are thrilled to feed you. I felt like I was in someone's kitchen and can't wait to return. read more

Half average, half horrible! My friend enjoyed his enchilada, and considered it average grade. My "Diablo" chimichanga however was bland, flavorless dried red peppers, and extremely low grade fatty meat (friend tasted and not same as his enchilada). Salsa is more just pico de gallo, too oniony. No smokey red pepper sauce. I love flavor over heat and 'Diablo' had neither. "Cute" must be the code for their weak sense of flavor. ‍ but they'll get their second star for giving my friend an acceptable meal read more

first time ordering here is disgusting, this rice is not cooked im chewing on uncooked rice, beans taste plain, birria taco and birria noodles had no flavor nor the consome. the only descent thing was my horchata . $3.00 for a chicken taco that need flavor. never will i order again. Okay I've probably been to this place three or four times in the last month! I have to say the Green Chili Burrito here is frick'n awesome! It's usually their special for Wednesday's but I usually get it any day. It really filling and has spectacular flavor. The place is kind of small but in a way makes it seem really cool. I'm Sorry But I Was Very Disappointed, I ordered flautas & there was barely any meat inside & they were burnt on the ends a quarter on each end. The beans taste like they are from a can & what was suppose to be guacamole was more like green salsa. My boyfriend had the pozole & that was good. Nephew had the Big Bootey Burrito, he was pleased. Came in for lunch. Asked to make a burrito differently then what was on the menu and even though they carry all the ingredients and I was willing to pay extra the woman at register told me " this isn't chipotle " and that she couldn't do that cause there was no way to add stuff on register. Makes zero sense but I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

After a disappointing start to lunch, I located this one. Nice decor, clean. Friendly cashier, maybe owner. Nice selections. Decent prices. Good tasting horchata. Clean bathroom. Decent food, not spectacular, tasted more like Americans doing the food vs Mexicans. I think I can cook it better and I'm not Latino neither. What they don't understand is it's a team effort and because they don't care that affects everybody else that does care. We ended up playing Pickleball for 30 minutes and got kicked off the court after reserving it for an hour and there was a mistake. Clearly I was frustrated and the only reason that they are getting a five star is because John the general manager stepped in and clearly saw my frustration before I even had said anything he already offered to take care of the 30 minute game and some other items as I was not looking for this he still took care of it. It doesn't really make it better, but at the end of the day, he definitely made it better and we do appreciate it so we definitely recommend this place. We will be back to play some pickle ball and give the other staff a chance.

At that point I then stated maybe he could then apologize for the rude accusations he was making. At that point the other guy was pretty drunk and not wanting to hear anything we said, he only wanted to fight and he made it pretty clear when he went after my bf, and they got into it in the parking lot! After he was done with his bickering with my bf he came after me because I told him to make sure to view that camera and when he finds his lottery ticket later,he could apologize to us. And the guy was still very aggressive, and he even shoved me down in the parking lot. By that time my bf was coming to protect me and we just left the bar. The server seemed baffled and was going to leave my husband with his meal that was drenched in Ketchup even after he asked her what would have caused the bottle to explode like that. I finally asked him if he was comfortable eating the food and she then offered to have it remade. Now the food: Burger (after being remade) was average. Chicken tenders were average. Mac and cheese and baked beans were not good. The positives: Loaded potato peels were delicious. Would definitely recommend those. Server kept my husband's soda refilled. The lady doing the bingo games was awesome. She played good music and had a good vibe with everyone in the room. I think (hope?) they were severely understaffed, hence the extreme wait times for service and food. All in all it took 2 full hours from when we got there to the time we were able to get our bill paid and leave. I cannot imagine wanting to return here unfortunately. The other patrons seemed to be having a good time with the bingo host as well. It seems this place does attract regulars but most seemed to just be drinking beer and eating onion rings. Maybe that's the way to go!

I went here the other night and had their Carne Asada Plate. This was fantastic. It came with rice, beans and their hot salsa was great. I was not so fond of the jalapeno salsa, but it was definitely hotter, which I like. The food was great, I got it to go. The only thing I wish I had was another tortilla or 2 to make extra tacos. Not a big deal as I usually have more at home, but there were not enough tortilla's for amount of food.
