0 stars for me. Ordered a 2 taco combo with rice. 1 shredded beef taco and a 1 chicken taco. There was ZERO beef in the beef taco and ONE small slice of chicken in the other. Rice was cold. Awful experience. Awful food. Awful establishment. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

This place is amazing. Great vibe, food, service and the pozole has a ton of flavor. This is my new go to place.

Bonitas is a small casual Mexican Restaurant located in North Glendale. They offer some alcohol, breakfast, soups, a variety of tacos, burros, salads, combination plates, Birria, Birria Ramen, a kids menu, desserts and more! Ordering is slightly disjointed. Half the menu is on a wall and the the other half a menu is behind the counter. You order, pay, seat yourself, and someone runs out your order. My husband ordered a variety of street tacos (most were ONLY $1.50),.......also a birria taco, and rice and beans. I tried the Birria Ramen. Everything was at least good but to us some things stood out more than others. Our favorites were the carnitas, adobada, and the birria taco and Birria Ramen. These were all tasty very flavorful GOOD FOOD. The man at the counter was very nice and helpful. The restaurant seemed clean and parking was easy because they are located at the end of a strip mall with a parking lot.

This Mexican eatery is very casual, small but not cramped, the prices are good and the food is okay - quite average in my opinion. The wait for the tacos I ordered took longer than I had expected, considering the place was quiet when I was there. It's across the street from ASU West so it was what you'd pretty much expect for an eatery in a college area.

My wife and I have ordered take out from bonitas a few time. Prices are good and food is decent. Only problem is that my favorite dish - the Birria tacos - don't really travel well. I've never had them at the restaurant so I can't really judge the quality of the dine in experience, but by thine I get home with my order the taco shells are always a bit soggy. That said, the tacos are stuffed with a generous amount of meat and the consome dipping sauce is flavorful. We also frequently order the flautas which actually do travel quite well. They're also generously stuffed and somehow always crispy despite being buried under a heap load of toppings. Recently my wife ordered an enchilada style burrito which she wasn't super happy with. The enchilada sauce is a red sauce base which isn't her favorite and the whole thing was still kind of dry. Overall, this place is decent if you're in the Glendale area and jonesing for Birria and other Mexican food staples.

My wife and I got Bonitas via delivery last night and judging from the rest of the reviews, I really wish we had gone into the restaurant or at the very least gotten takeout ourselves. Don't get me wrong. The food was good, but when you've got your food held hostage in a styrofoam container being driven lazily around the city by an Uber Eats driver - it's not the restaurant, it's the delivery. I went with the bean/cheese burrito + taco combo. After the hot food is placed in the styrofoam delivery container and then wrapped up tightly in a plastic bag and then driven casually from Point A to Point B by the Uber Eats driver, the food is essentially continuing to steam itself in the container. This made the taco fall apart when I attempted to pick it up. It made the rice soggy. It made the tortilla of my burrito feel chewy. I don't think this is any fault of Bonitas. I'm sure the food would have appeared fresher and tasted fresher had we eaten in vs. gotten delivery. All in all, I'll likely be back to try Bonitas again. I want to give them a fair shot as since they've gotten a lot of positive reviews, I'm blaming this mediocre experience on the fact that we had our dinner delivered.

Birria tacos and Diablo Burro FTW. Cute little order at the front and sit down or take out place. Order came out fast, hot, best tacos I've had in a while. Crispy at the edges, meat is tender w/some charred ends, birria is flavorful and not too oily. Yumm all around.

Bonitas isn't the same after they were bought out. I ordered a combo #1, which is a hard taco with a cheese enchilada, rice and beans. Tacos shell was old a stale. The red sauce on the enchilada was very salty and they cheese in the middle wasn't even melted properly. Was very disappointed I spent almost $30 here. Don't come here if you want to be highly disappointed! read more

Cashier Itzal was super rude, I asked for no sour cream on burrito but she charged me for EXTRA sour cream ($1 more) instead when I asked nicely not to and refused to remake it or just fix the charge. That is literally stealing money from consumers. Food wasn't even good, tasted cold and not fresh, and very sloppy. I refuse to ever go back to a place that steals money from customers, even if it's local. Please avoid and go to Taco Bell or Mr. Goodcents. read more

I Love going out to eat and I found this incredible small place.. It's affordable and so yummy I had the Adobada burrito and it was on point I enjoyed a Margarita and it was so good and last but not least the Fried Ice Cream was delicious. The nachos were terrible. Service was crap. Took forever to get my order. They refused to do a simple customization to my nachos which were extremely overpriced and very unsatisfying. I've had better food at ever "bertos" I've ever been to. Don't waste your time. read more

Call ahead if you want your food out sooner than 45 minutes. We came in and there were 2 people eating and nobody in line. We sat there waiting for our food for 45+ minutes for two entrees. And it was expensive for poor service. read more

I hate to write a negative review for a local business, especially during these difficult times. However, the service I received today was totally unacceptable. I ordered the burrito/taco combo and my brother ordered a bean burrito and asked for no sour cream(which the burritos come with). The cashier did repeat his order back to him to make sure he said no sour cream.After receiving the food I noticed that I had been charged an extra dollar for an extra side of sour cream that we didn't order, so my brother informs the cashier that he did not want sour cream and that I was charged for it. She had an attitude and said "yeah well they come with sour cream ". He was not offered a new burrito or any sort of apologie, and I paid nearly $6 for a burrito he didn't even eat because of the loads of extra sour cream dripping from it. To top it all off, my food appeared as if someone had dumpster dived out of a Filiberto's garbage! I used to love Bonitas and the employees were always friendly , but the service and quality have definitely gone downhill so unfortunately I will not be returning. read more

They have changed hands and apparently can not get orders right and the food is horrible. I ordered their signature Bonita's big booty breakfast burrito and all that was in it was eggs and ham. WTH. It also took forever to make. I ordered it on the phone and still had to wait almost 40minutes for my food. The lady didn't even offer any chips and salsa for my wait. Guess if that's the kind of service you foster I will elsewhere. read more

My son and I were feeling adventurous and decided to scout out a new place to get tacos and enchiladas. Our first time coming in was good, everything we ordered had great flavor. The service was friendly and attentive.I loved the flavor of enchilada sauce and that staple would keep me coming back! Unfortunately the second visit about two weeks later was disappointing. I ordered the same and it didn't taste anything like the last, the enchilada sauce seemed overly spicy and I couldn't get through the plate. It seemed like whoever the cook was put their own version of taste into each plate. So the inconsistency of their food and flavor unfortunately won't bring me back to this establishment again. I had high hopes but wasn't the quality I was searching for. read more

Thought we would try a new place for taco Tuesday, we each had hard shell ground beef and shredded chicken tacos. The ground beef had an unusual tasteless quality. Chicken lacked taste as well. Topped with lettuce and cheese that wasn't that Mexican style quality I would expect. Sorry not a fan of this place. read more

This place is pretty damn close to getting homemade food! Got the posole and the some sort of pork and egg dish, adobado or something don't really remember the name, just remember it was fricken good. The counter guy was nice dude and overall was a good experience. Will return. read more

Worst Mexican food we have had. 1st issues was the online menu doesn't reflect the in store prices. The combos came with beans and rice, the rice was way over cooked extremely hard, there were barely any beans, a small layer was smeared in the Togo container. We didn't receive the chips that were supposed to come with the combos. The beef taco in the #1 combo was flavorless and nothing but grease which made the hard corn shell soggy. Ordered an Arizona burrito which was mostly tortilla and guacamole. Also had a #7 which wasn't good either. Not worth the 53.00. read more

Decent is how I'd describe my experience here for a first timer. I ordered a taco salad and felt like the ground beef could have been browned a bit more (maybe it's a personal preference). I tried the three salsas and all were tasty. Friendly guy at the counter and service was fast. I'll definitely try it again. Maybe next time I'll try Taco Tuesday!! read more

I just left this place. My second time coming here in two weeks and the food and the service was AMAZING!! This is the most authentic Mexican food on this side of town hands down. The menudo taste like my nana's I might even say it's better but I might get slapped on the side of the head if I do. Lol I will be returning and recommending to all my family and friends. Hats off to the chef. I wish I could give my stars. read more

We were excited for Friday fish tacos but after a few month of not eating here we find out that the quality has really suffered! Took one bite and requested our money back. The tortillas were uncooked, the fish was cold and the cabbage was like cole slaw. It was pretty gross. read more

ADDICTED! If I could rate more stars I would. Lovveee coming here! Amazing food, wonderful service. I've never had a bad experience and have been here at least weekly over the last year. The new ownership makes you feel like family and didn't change the traditional items that were originally on the menu like the banditos! First timer with my Husband and kids as we where passing by after my kids practice .and it was delicious from the kids menu for my little ones , to the combo that I had and the Delicious burritos that filled up a 13 year old right after football practice that eats like a grown man (sometimes he eats 2 burritos) but 1 was enough great portions. Now let me tell you about the Michelada I'm not a drinker but that was delicious and refreshing and let's not forget the best Fried ice cream I have ever tasted. Such a great experience when all we wanted was just a quick bite . Highly recommend it. read more

Bonita's is a small informal Mexican place across Thunderbird from the ASU West campus. The food is good, prices quite reasonable and service just fine. We had the chicken asade burrito and the beef chimichanga. The combos come with rice and beans. I would most definitely go back. read more

If you order a folded cheese crisp, I'd recommend asking for no garnish. Unless you're okay with an entirely tomato soaked cheese crisp. Also, the burritos are very small for the price. Everything tastes great. But portion sizes could be better, and less tomato soaked. read more

What they don't understand is it's a team effort and because they don't care that affects everybody else that does care. We ended up playing Pickleball for 30 minutes and got kicked off the court after reserving it for an hour and there was a mistake. Clearly I was frustrated and the only reason that they are getting a five star is because John the general manager stepped in and clearly saw my frustration before I even had said anything he already offered to take care of the 30 minute game and some other items as I was not looking for this he still took care of it. It doesn't really make it better, but at the end of the day, he definitely made it better and we do appreciate it so we definitely recommend this place. We will be back to play some pickle ball and give the other staff a chance.

At that point I then stated maybe he could then apologize for the rude accusations he was making. At that point the other guy was pretty drunk and not wanting to hear anything we said, he only wanted to fight and he made it pretty clear when he went after my bf, and they got into it in the parking lot! After he was done with his bickering with my bf he came after me because I told him to make sure to view that camera and when he finds his lottery ticket later,he could apologize to us. And the guy was still very aggressive, and he even shoved me down in the parking lot. By that time my bf was coming to protect me and we just left the bar. The server seemed baffled and was going to leave my husband with his meal that was drenched in Ketchup even after he asked her what would have caused the bottle to explode like that. I finally asked him if he was comfortable eating the food and she then offered to have it remade. Now the food: Burger (after being remade) was average. Chicken tenders were average. Mac and cheese and baked beans were not good. The positives: Loaded potato peels were delicious. Would definitely recommend those. Server kept my husband's soda refilled. The lady doing the bingo games was awesome. She played good music and had a good vibe with everyone in the room. I think (hope?) they were severely understaffed, hence the extreme wait times for service and food. All in all it took 2 full hours from when we got there to the time we were able to get our bill paid and leave. I cannot imagine wanting to return here unfortunately. The other patrons seemed to be having a good time with the bingo host as well. It seems this place does attract regulars but most seemed to just be drinking beer and eating onion rings. Maybe that's the way to go!

I went here the other night and had their Carne Asada Plate. This was fantastic. It came with rice, beans and their hot salsa was great. I was not so fond of the jalapeno salsa, but it was definitely hotter, which I like. The food was great, I got it to go. The only thing I wish I had was another tortilla or 2 to make extra tacos. Not a big deal as I usually have more at home, but there were not enough tortilla's for amount of food.
