Went for breakfast/lunch prior to starting our beach day and it Stating it was French we were intrigued. Our server was an older woman and not sure if she was having a bad day or what, but it showed. We had coffee, a cappuccino (that they charged as a double), Americano, but no french coffee -nothing made with a french press. Yes they have crepes but no beignets nor anything similar. (Thought they were french‍) anyway hubby had decent meal and mine needed mustard and there was none, not even grey poupon lol there was no mustard in the entire restaurant. Like wth?! Oh well they're French in name only. Oh and watch your bill, they over billed two teens on their meal and luckily one of them was smart enough to review his receipt and "she apologized" and they charged me a double when I didn't ask for it and it was definitely not a double espresso, so review before you pay. read more

Still a nice place in the Village Bonjour French Café is a nice little spot along Ocean Blvd in the heart of Siesta Village, offering authentic French inspired dishes. I stopped in this morning for a Croque Madame. They have about 8 tables inside and a few more outside on a raised porch where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the village. I opted to sit inside this visit. My Croque Madame, which took about 10 minutes to receive, looked great with that bright yellow sunnyside egg sitting on top. The toasted bread did make the sandwich a bit dry, but I think that's how it's supposed to be. The standout Gruyere cheese added flavor. I opted for their potatoes as my side, you can also get fruit or a small salad. The potatoes were nicely seasoned. In my previous review of the same dish I mentioned the sandwich was placed on paper, not the case this time. Much better. It was a good visit. I was a little preoccupied so I didn't attempt to engage in conversation, but I could overhear friendly interactions between the staff and other customers. My family and I went here for breakfast twice: once on Christmas Eve and once on Christmas Day. The first day, I got an egg and cheese croissant sandwich with a side of potatoes. We also got the goat cheese quiche, the lobster benedict, the pineapple crepe, the lobster crepe, and the Nutella crepe. We also got orange juice and coffee. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and the coffee was great. The quiche was rich and creamy, the Benedict was perfect and filled with lobster and a great hollandaise sauce. The crepes were good, but the Nutella crepe could have had some kind of filling. The lobster crepe was filled with lobster as well, so definitely good quality. The egg and cheese croissant was good as well, a the potatoes that came with the orders were delicious. The portions were all great, and the service was excellent. The second day, I ordered a create your own omelette with mushroom and Brie and subbed my side with a croissant, as well as a baked brie croissant, the western crepe with turkey, the salmon crepe, the lobster omelette, the tatin waffle, and a lemon strawberry crepe. All of the entrees were good as well. The crest your own omelette was a great value, especially with a croissant. The Brie croissant was delicious, as were all the crepes and the waffle. The homemade béchamel in the western crepe was amazing. The lobster omelette was good as well, but could have used some cheese or creamy sauce. Now this is an authentic French cafe! My fiancé picked this place out and I was so excited to try it. We drove up to this place and saw the seating outside and it took me back to living in France. We were seated by the owner who I spoke with in French about where she was from and just about the French regions. We sat down and looked over the great menu. My fiancé ordered the Ocean Boulevard and I ordered the Omelette Beret with a side of fruit. My meal was amazing!! I ordered a pain au chocolat, which was my favorite when I lived in France and had that for later... it was delicious!! Amazing fresh food!! I knew it was going to be good when I saw the Seed to Table delivery truck outside. I ordered the Lobster Benedict. It was amazing. I usually never eat hollandaise sauce, but I order on the side to try. It was amazing! So fresh with a buttery lemon flavor. Mmmm Our server was Andy. The croissants here are AMAZING. I'm a picky foodie but their sand dollar breakfast is light and well balanced. They have fresh squeezed OJ mimosas! Yum!!! The outside patio area is cute and great for an early morning in the sun! However, this cafe is best suited for small groups or couples. Waitress is attentive without being overbearing. Service is quick but limited patio seating and if you're here on the weekend, definitely get here before the 9:30 AM breakfast rush or else there won't be much space to sit and you'll be waiting . Up charge for fruit if you want to swap for potatoes. They get plenty of potatoes as aside, but I wasn't in the mood for them this morning and their side salad is just straight up greens with nothing on it which I also thought was meh. Fresh squeezed OJ at nine dollars a cup. It's a tad on the pricey side but hey it's fresh squeeze vitamin C so it's a good way to start the day. The lobster omelette was OK. It smelled very fishy and kind of bland. My husband preferred Benedict. I thought it was fine, but nothing to write home about. I got a Nutella crepe with strawberries and it was also just ok. The French name of the restaurant is a bit misleading as the pastry selection is minimal and crepes available mainly for lunch and dessert. Popped in on a Sunday morning and picked up an almond croissant and a pain au chocolat - both were very good. The almond croissant could have used a bit more almond filling for my taste but it was tasty. The French gentlemen at the cash register (owner?) was very pleasant while juggling a lot of demands. The prices were what we would have expected. The staff were all wearing masks. A few years ago in Ft Lauderdale we had some some superb French pastries - we give a slight nod to that place but Bonjour is the second best we have had in Florida. Yummy! The fresh orange juice (you literally watch the machine squeeze the oranges) is delicious and even more enjoyable as a mimosa or screwdriver. My girlfriends and I ordered crepes and were pleased with the taste and heartiness of the "fillings". We had the classic/italian/western/ salmon. You should also try a croissant. Another spot in Siesta Key that my husband and I hadn't visited in the ten years we've previously visited...and what a shame. Bonjour is amazing! We visited twice during our weeklong visit because we both loved our brunch entrees so much. We got the same thing both days -- I made my own crepe with goat cheese, spinach and peppers; my husband had the Paris baguette. I loved my side of greens, paired with Bonjour's own vinaigrette. The location is great -- right in the middle of the Village strip. On our first visit, we were lucky enough to grab a table for two on the front porch. It's so charming, but very limited space (the servers come to you from inside the restaurant, through a sliding glass door). The next visit, we were outside on the side patio; still a nice experience but I preferred the front porch. On both visits, we overheard other tables comment on how much they loved their food and the service. We heard a few mention this was their XX visit in YY years. Definitely a favorite place of many! Bonjour French cafe has great breakfast that you can eat any time of the day. Cooked fresh! It was my first time there with my team of workers. I had lobster omelette, breakfast dish. The portions served were quite generous. With side of diced red potatoes. They have such an array of crepes selection. Hopefully I'll get another opportunity to try other dishes. It has charming style decor with indoor and outdoor seating with shade. Expect challenges with parking. Thankfully we were walking distance from the cafe! I can't end this review with out mentioning the long 30 minutes wait time. We came during high traffic flow at 1:10pm. They were closing soon. That's just a big deal to me. The food was killer. She recommended the goat cheese quiche and it was really really flavorful. I loved it. Had some legitimately fresh squeezed orange juice and took advantage of the two for one mimosa's with the fresh squeezed orange juice. Beautiful place outside and inside. I liked the feel of it all. I'm going to start this off by saying Bonjour everyone! Bonjour Frenchcafe is owned by a very kind French family. I came here recently with a group of 8 people and they treated us with such kind and great service. The owner came to our table and showed us such genuine respect and kindness. I ended up ordering the BLT, which was amazing. The avocado toast was also very good. During our time there they had a deal which was buy one mimosa and get one free. Obviously, we took advantage of that! If you end up taking advantage of that deal I would recommend asking for the mimosas the "french way" which is very little orange juice and more champagne. It was decently busy when we went as there was an upper and lower floor. If you plan on coming with a big party I would plan on making a reservation before hand. Parking is tough so I would suggest finding street parking somewhere. As for our server - she was very kind and helped us maneuver through the menu in a swift way. I would recommend coming here for a good brunch spot. Don't expect countless of crazy food options as they are just basic brunch items. read more

Bonjour French Cafe is located in a very beachy location. The vibe here is either touristy or campy depending on your feel. Many restaurants and businesses create parking issues. Be prepared to spend some time finding parking. The seating is basically inside with two levels. You lose some of the beach feel if that is what you want. Bonjour is open for breakfast or lunch closing at 2:30. The menu selections are large, mostly breakfast choices. We were seated quickly upstairs. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious and understandingly expensive. A small glass was $5.40. Now for the selections. A typical breakfast combo of eggs, meat, home fries, and toast was a disappointment. The children's entre of pancakes were good not memorable. The salad selection with goat cheese was impressive. I opted for Quiche Lorraine with a salad. The salad was fresh but I was limited to an olive oil vinegarette, not a favorite. I would have preferred another dressing, but in Rome. The quiche was very large, but to my taste too salty due to the contained meats. The pastry edge was not crisp, another disappointment. The mango waffle was sweet and the fruit was over-ripe. Overall the meal was acceptable but not memorable. Other French eateries I prefer are Rendevous or Lovely Square. If you are looking for a beachy feel, Bonjour fits the bill, but don't expect a culinary experience. read more

The cappuccino is such a great starter. The caramelized sugar on top of it was such a nice touch. What's not pictured is a chocolate croissant that was nicely paired with the coffee (it was delicious, flaky, and soft at the same time). For my main meal I got the Omelette "La Parisienne" because I've heard great things about it. It was really good, but could have used a bit more flavor. Who doesn't love a cute French cafe? This one is absolutely adorable and super authentic. I love going to this place when I am in Siesta Key! Make sure to start yourself off with one their delicious Latte's, Cappuccino, or fresh pressed juice. We tried the Eggs Benedict and the Ocean Blvd, which both were amazing. Credit where credit is due: - Their salads seem nice judged off of appearance alone. -We had a large party and they were able to accommodate us. -Staff seemed responsive. Unfortunately, the prices on their brunch and lunch entrees are quite high considering the serving size is about a third of what it needs to be. Food seemed generic, coffee was mediocre, and crepes appear to be the only truly french dish available. This is not French cuisine, it is a tourist trap with a kitchy sign where I payed my bill regrettably. read more
