When I go on vacation, I usually like to go to local resturants, however we stopped here because of the location and their was parking. It was convenient. They were busy, but we were seated immediately. Our waitress was super nice and excited about her job. However, the food was not good. My eggs were so dry and overcooked. The potatoes had no flavor and were cold. I didn't complain because they were so busy, but unfortunately I would not dine here again. Everything runs smoothly at Another Broken Egg even with lots of people waiting to get in and eat. If you don't like waiting for a table then get up early. If not, just leave your name at the hostess stand and you'll be called asap. We were there in the summer and didn't have to wait more than 10 mins for a table for 4. The employees work quickly and efficiently, getting customers in and out. You can choose to sit inside or outside on their large covered patio. All of our dishes came as ordered and we were all very happy with our choices. I ordered a Monterey Power Omelette that was delicious, my only complaint is that the omelette comes with avocado and the avocado slices were not the nicest. They were subpar. Visited on Dec 27 for a late brunch. The place was understaffed and waitress seemed disengaged and uninterested. The food took a long time to arrive and she never acknowledged the delay. Another, much friendlier waitress did apologize, which we appreciated. We waited too long for the check, even though the restaurant was nearly empty and our waitress was chatting with staff. I have worked in busy restaurants myself, so this level of inattentiveness is not excusable. The food was mediocre and there are plenty of better, healthier options in Sarasota. Nice cafe with a good variety of breakfast and brunch items. They weren't very busy when I came in on a Monday morning around 9am. I had to wait for a couple of minutes since there was no one up front then I was seated at the bar. I ordered some coffee to start and perused the menu. I decided on the crab cake benedict. Service was quick and friendly. It seemed, there were only 2 wait staff that day so they were both running around a lot but my waitress still had time to check in with me to make sure everything was well and good after my food was delivered. Delicious food but I sadly forgot to snap a photo. Outdoor seating are available here as well. They have heaters for your comfort while dining and since this is located off of the main drag in Siesta Key, you do hear a lot of the background noise from the street. I was truly unhappy with my visit. When I arrived, I asked the host for a table for two along with a high chair. She kindly informed me that the wait would be approximately 15-20 minutes, which seemed reasonable, so I provided my name and phone number. After about 30 minutes, I checked back in and was told there were still several parties ahead of us. We continued waiting, and it wasn't until roughly 35 minutes later that we were finally seated. We were then greeted by our server, Steven, about 15 minutes after being seated, at which point he took our drink orders. Unfortunately, our drinks did not arrive until about 20 minutes later. When they finally came, he then took our entrée order, but our food didn't arrive until roughly 45 minutes after that. I would love to recommend this place, as this was our second visit and we truly enjoyed our first experience. The food was excellent, and we genuinely enjoy it. However, the service on this visit needs significant improvement. Overall, the amount of waiting throughout the entire experience felt excessive. We started our day with breakfast. Been to one of these near where I live, and they have good food, so figured this was a safe bet, and I'm glad I was right. We waited about 20 minutes which is not bad considering their norm is longer. The hubby started with an iced coffee followed by salmon lox sandwich and I had the pancake meal. Service was very good, Nice friendly atmosphere and normally the food is top notch. However, I would not recommend ordering the Parmesan crusted Croissant benedict with asparagus. The bottom half of each one was dried out and wrinkled/shriveled up. So stringy, I couldn't even cut them with their sharp knife let alone chew it. A good chef would not have allowed it to be sent it out to a customer. I was a produce manager for 17 years and there are many ways to preserve the freshness of asparagus starting with cutting off the bottom 1/2" or so, (No white part left) then store it upright in a jar with fresh water, cover with a plastic bag, refresh the water daily and cut a small sliver off the bottom again every other day to allow it to drink and not dry out. A good friend of mine had rave about this place so I was very happy to try it while I was in the area. When we got there they told us it was about a 20 min wait. Another great visit My visit today went very well, starting with easily finding a parking space. The restaurant was pretty busy, but they had an outside table for me without a wait. A cheerful hostess led the way. Within a couple of minutes, I had coffee in their somewhat small but cute coffee cups. For breakfast I tried their The Supreme Omelette, a more traditional sort of omelette with sausage, bacon, onion, mushrooms, and cheese. It was very good, subtle flavor, good size. For my side I had their cubed potatoes. I enjoyed this food while sitting in their large outdoor seating area on a beautiful morning. Most every day is beautiful on Siesta Key. I wish I remembered our server's name but she was excellent. She was very attentive and joyful, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The orange mimosas were a delightful start.There were no bottomless option even in a Saturday brunch so we ended up ordering 2 pitchers of mimosas.The Lobster and Brie omelette stole the spotlight. The omelette was toped with a decent amount of lobster and the brie helped give each bite the creamiest consistency. Also impressive was the Tiramisu French Toast, the crab egg Benedict and the veggie omelette. Everything was seasoned to perfection. We went to breakfast on a rainy Thursday at about 8:30. Hostess was very friendly. Only 3 tables filled when we arrived. Our waitress not so friendly. Maybe having a bad day. Placed order with decaf coffee, no creamer on table, asked for milk had to ask twice before we got and coffee was terrible. Ordered the pancakes with pork sausage and french toast with bacon. Pancakes were good but pork sausage like hockey pucks same color. French toast with bacon good. Should have sent back the pork sausages but we just wanted to leave. Didn't feel that for $43.00 the breakfast was anything to rave about. Can't believe a cook or a waitress would see that pork sausage and serve it but they figured we are tourists we won't be back who cares???? Our server Dana was not present, she barely checked on our table. Our food had to sit under the heat lamp and wasn't great.
