The only thing Bonnell Ford cares about is the sale. Be extreme careful with their service department. Make sure you document everything to include taking pictures of your vehicle. I dropped my vehicle off of service, tintake report showed no damage, but when I came to pick it up, it was a different story. It was parked in the back a lot nose into the pile of dirt. There was trash from the technician within the vehicle. All the windows were left open and the front bumper was dented. When I went back into the service department, one of the employees said oh no, he's back. He must've saw it at which point I asked who damaged the vehicle and they stated no one.. it's a good thing I have dash cam video. They attempted to delete it, but it was saved within the hard drive and not on the SD card of the camera. Their own inspection report also shows that there was no damage to the vehicle upon intake. What do you think Bonnell Ford would own up and fix the problem, no they continue to deny that they did it. Take your purchasing power elsewhere and you'll be happy. I had been day dreaming of a new vehicle for a good year now, been watching the prices go up, rates soar, and even test drove a few vehicles to be ready to buy when the time came that my Toyota Sienna hit 200K and died. First choice, Grand Highlander or Tahoe. Third row in the highlander is just for show, can't hold 1 6ft adult comfortably, let alone two or 3. Found a 22 Tahoe, but the V8 engine felt like I was towing a trailer; it simply didn't respond as I wanted it to. Spotted a Used Expedition on my way home from work around 6:45 on Friday night (they close at 7) so I was hesitant, but I pulled in anyways, very nice lot, very bright, very clean, (it had just snowed). I met with Andrew Young, super nice and calm guy, very professional, and we took it for a spin, parked it, told him I'll think about it. Important note, this vehicle is loaded like I'd expect from a Mercedes, Beemer, or Caddy and the twin turbo V6 moves like a mustang, even purrs like kitten too. A few days went by while I researched the year (21), reviews, price ($50K), miles (only 25K), and features to confirm it was a great deal. Still unable to make a decision with a few more questions, I decided I'd hold off reaching out until they called me. I was expecting a million calls over the weekend or first thing next week, but the phone never rang. Texted him I wanted to drive it again, he replied with "sure, stop in when you have time," so I stopped by again and Andrew let me take it for another spin, still no pressure what so ever. Fast forward a week, I decided this deal wouldn't last long, though I did have a dozen or so concerns since it was a used vehicle (tires, rims, battery, keys, remote start, et cetera. Andrew ensured me all of the above would be checked out, and sure enough everything came back better than expected. Very happy so far with my purchase, arguably the easiest purchase I've ever experienced with buying a vehicle, will def be back to give them another shot for my two soon to be adolescent drivers. I started using Bonnell Ford after having issues getting a timely appointment at Stoneham Ford where I normally go. I found the Bonnell Ford online scheduling system very user friendly and the experience at the dealership was reasonable at my first visit for warranty repair. After that first positive experience, I booked an 5k service for today. As I left the dealership, after my service was completed, my 2025 Explorer began making a loud scraping sound under the front end. I pulled over and discovered the underbody panel, just below the front bumper, was hanging down and dragging. I returned to the dealership and told them it appeared that some screws were not reinstalled by the lube tech. I also asked the service writer to please have someone do a quality check and make sure all the fasteners were installed properly as my 2025 has only 9900 miles on it and is still like new. He returned with my vehicle and assured me that he double checked personally and all was correct. When I got home, I slid under the Explorer only to find several screws were still missing and the large under body panel was not secured properly. I also found broken clips and hardware which I grabbed as I went back to the dealership where I spoke directly to the service manager. The service manager had my vehicle immediately brought into the shop and then invited me out to have a look. He stated that there would be no reason for the lube tech to take off that particular panel and pointed out what appeared to be scuff marks and suggested that I brought the vehicle in damaged. I argued that my vehicle was like new when I drove it in, and it certainly was not dragging an underbody panel which they already attempted to fix once. He continued to defiantly state that while they would attempt to secure the panel it was not something they caused. As I waited outside for the repair attempt, I walked over to where they stage cars for pick-up, which is where mine was earlier that day. I noticed the curbing is much higher than you would expect it to be, and they are noticeable drag marks and broken pieces of plastic on the ground. Presumable whoever staged my Explorer for pick-up must have driven into the curbing and damaged the underbody panel. Mistakes happen, and in my view it is what you do to remedy the situation that matters. If the service manager had simply made the mistake right instead of blame shifting onto the customer, I would have been more than pleased. Avoid Bonnell Ford at all costs!! They claim to be a "Premium Ford Car Dealership," yet they can't be trusted with an oil change and have ZERO integrity. read more

The same day I brought my F150, mentioned in my previous oil consumption review, I also brought my wife's expedition in for an oil change. We were headed to NH to see the foliage and figured an oil change was in order. In Littleton, NH, 145 miles away our check engine light came on. Upon inspection I found that the oil fill cover was left off by Bonnell's technician and was crushed and imbedded near the air intake under the hood. I covered the oil fill with gorilla tape. I called the Bonnell service department and told Jeff Bonnell of the problem. Engine light stayed on until a helpful auto parts store got me a replacement the next day. Service department failed to complete 3 separate oil changes. Twice they lost the lug nuts on the tires and could not find them. I had to buy new ones. Last oil change they did not put the oil cap back on the engine and oil was all over the engine and brakes. They would not clean or wash the truck. I am extremely disappointed with the complete lack of customer care/service I experienced yesterday at Bonnell Ford of Winchester. For a company who prides themselves on having a quote "unwavering commitment to putting our customers first", they have completely missed the mark and no longer stand even a chance of earning my business back. I do not recommend anyone wasting their time or energy at this location seeing as certain members of the staff (I can only speak to the ones with whom I had a personal interaction with) are only looking out for themselves and trying to find ways to squeeze every dollar out of the customer and put it directly in their pockets. The experience: I was over the moon when I saw the first ad for the all new Ford Bronco and could not wait for them to become available at local dealerships. As soon as they hit the lots, I scheduled a test drive of an automatic, Badlands build and loved it! The only catch is I am actually interested in a manual transmission, which I also wanted to test drive prior to ordering to make absolutely certain that I want to stick with a stick. Over the past year, I have patiently waited and searched for the elusive manual transmission Ford Bronco to come to the show rooms and be available for a test drive. I could not believe it when I finally found one that was only 30 minutes away!! I immediately emailed Bonnell Ford to schedule a test drive and received an email Monday morning stating I should call to reserve a time slot. When I called, the first person I spoke to accidentally hung up on me when trying to transfer me to the correct sales representative. The second time I called, I was transferred to the wrong desk and got the voicemail of a different sales associate. The third time I called back, I tried to get to the correct sales associate, but was transferred to the same desk that ended up going to voicemail. At this point, I left a voicemail with the wrong associate politely asking for anyone to call me back to make an appointment. To some, even this would be extremely frustrating, but I was still riding the high of thinking I was going to finally get a chance to test drive a manual Bronco so I could have cared less about the small phone inconvenience. I did receive a call back almost immediately and told the sales associate I wanted to test drive the manual Bronco I saw on their online inventory. He did mention that it was currently in the showroom, but that they should be able to pull it out. I asked if I could swing by on my lunch break between 12 and 1 pm and was told no problem. This was IT! My patience paid off and it was finally my time! I drove 30 minutes out to the dealership and walked in full of excitement. When I approached the desk, the gentleman standing there asked how I was doing and what he could help me with today. I mentioned the name of the sales associate whom I spoke with and that I was there for a test drive. When further asked which vehicle I wanted to test drive I stated, "the manual Bronco". I was still all smiles and the man looked at me, scoffed, then retorted, "Oh, you aren't going to be test driving that car today". He went on to explain to me how the vehicle was in the showroom and I informed him that I was told it could be taken out of the showroom for a test drive. Again, my words were received with a scoff and I was told "that car is not leaving the showroom". I then proceeded to have about a 5 minute conversation trying to understand why a dealership would not allow a customer who is ready to make a purchase the chance to test drive a vehicle. After asking all the right questions, the sales associate then informed me that the Bronco I wanted to test drive was already marked $10k over list price and they were not going to put any miles on it because whoever decides to buy it would want as few miles as possible. At this point I am beyond agitated and extremely disappointed. Additionally, my thoughts are "whoever decides to buy this would probably rather have a small handful of miles on the car and a reasonable sticker price than no miles and 10k over the recommended retail value. In summary, Bonnell Ford's unwillingness to allow a customer, who is ready to order/purchase a new Bronco, the opportunity to test drive a vehicle they have in stock is completely unacceptable. I don't care how hard the car is to come by, I don't care that there is a chip shortage, I don't want to hear the excuses, I just want polite, decent, and top-rated customer service. Apparently, this is too much to ask at Bonnell Ford - anyone looking for an enjoyable car buying experience should take their business elsewhere. To The Ford Motor Company: I would not recommend sending any available Bronco inventory to this location based on the horrible customer experience. I'm so dissatisfied with this dealership. Multiple times my mother inquired about the brakes sounding weird. Well it took $650 later to fix if not more since the breaks haven't been done since she got the car here in 2014. She was informed by a sales person that that's how the car always sounds.. well we went elsewhere to a garage because I felt like it was VERY DANGEROUS to be driving the car with the brakes as bad as they were. The people at THAT garage told us if we didn't fix it sooner it would have cost over $1,000 to get it done.. the damage was done to the pads but what would have been worse is if we needed to repair the calipers which would be serious $$. Are you really going to LIE to people and tell them their unsafe car is "ok to drive"? Thank god no one died myself included who uses the car often didn't pass. Why are you still in business if costing someone's lives is ok with you as long as you lie to line your pockets with money? Don't listen to anything the shop says and get service elsewhere. Mom and pop garages are the way to go and more trustworthy than bonnell ford. Who wants to play Russian roulette when they drive their car and are lied to for 8 years about the brakes being "fine". I have been a loyal customer of Bonnell Ford buying 4 vehicles in the last 10 years and always servicing there including purchasing their roadside service plan paint protection and all the other BS money loaners for them. Last week I went in for my scheduled oil change and before they finished they informed me I needed to replace every single lug nut due to bulging. A quick google search showed that thousands of people have also experienced this. So much so that they attempted to bring it to court to force Ford to recall the defective lug nuts. For some reason even with the overwhelmingly evidence of the defective lug nuts all displaying the same defect the rejected the recall request. These are not true consumable parts. I've had my tire change at the dealer one time and never even looked at the lug nuts nevermind attempt to remove them with an improper tool which is what they implied. I'm a 78 year old woman that has never changed a tire in my life. My free oil change that's included in the maintenance program I purchased didn't include lug nuts. After replacing them without a discussion they charge me $180 including labor. 2001-2020 Ford Escape all suffer from defective lug nuts. If they decide to ambush me with a large bill considering I was planning on spending ZERO they should have at least prepared me by explaining the situation. I think the service department is staffed by amateurs. For my 2018 Ford Explorer service they did not tighten the transmission drain plug and transmission fluid leaked for several days until I discovered their negligence. They left 2 shop rags under my hood wedged between engine components. There were greasy hand marks on seats and doors. I was charged twice for state inspection. I found out after the poor service that there were two different recalls associated with my Explorer but the service manager did not bring this to my attention. Really, a poor service operation - - I will try another Ford dealership next time. read more

He did not call me back he had someone else call me back who would not listen to what I had to say and just kept talking over me he also told me that there was now a check engine light on and that I needed cap coil wires and spark plugs as well as a catalytic converter and that was going to be an additional $3000. I feel as though my money for the TXV repair should be returned to me seeing as they never corrected the original issue. They didn't want to hear any of that. They also told me that they disconnected the cooling fan and to basically deal with it. I went in for something simple that shouldn't have taken long or been over a few hundred dollars. I was quoted $600 For an oil change and 60,000 mile car maintenance as well as a diagnostic on my back door because it wasn't opening. I get a call today saying that the bill is $1060. I showed up for my appointment at 12:30 PM on a Monday so they gave me a loaner because they said it would be a few hours. I came back at 3 PM to pick up my car and they told me it wouldn't be ready until the next day. I was a little confused by this and should've pressed more because clearly I would end up paying for that. They didn't call me until 4 PM Tuesday. No wonder the labor was $600 by itself. Purchased my car in February. I've taken it back now 3 times for servicing, all things that should have been caught during a standard car inspection. The service department is less than helpful and zero accommodating. No customer service skills at all. During the sale process of my Explorer, they kept wondering if we would be taking our explorer and F150 here for servicing in the future... not anymore. After driving 4000 miles I should not be needing to replace my rear brakes entirely at my expense when we just paid tens of thousands of dollars for a car that was overpriced in the first place. I told him I would like that fixed at no Extra cost as it was listed as part of the vehicle on my bill of sale. He shrugged his shoulders and then mumbled and gave me a Non Direct answer. 4 days later I notice the Shark Fin antenna was no longer on the vehicle. I immediately called Richard and explained this. His first answer was "Well it was there when you drove off the lot. I then said to him "Well there was a problem from day 1 with the reception on the stereo system. His next answer was that I would have to pay approximately $700 for repair. I was totally Not Happy at this point. I also explained to the Service and Parts this issue and IT ALL SEEMED NO ONE CARED. I decided to get the repair done. On the day of the repair I receive a call in the early AM that the vehicle also needed a new BATTERY. Are you kidding me now?? Only 40 something days into owning this vehicle and driving less than 40-50 miles if even. Total Repair with antenna and battery was $857.83. So after paying over $20,000.00 for the car and another $2600.00 for an EXTENDED WARRANTY I feel I have been totally taken ADVATAGE OF. FAMILY: How would you say customers are Treated like Family. This dealer charges Ferrari prices for Ford services. I recently brought my car in for a minor repair and they quoted me over $800. Since I'm an engineer, I had already diagnosed the car myself and knew it should not cost this much for this simple repair....it should have been $400 max even at a dealer, so I refused to fix at this dealer. I bought the part myself at Ford for $135 and had it installed by a local garage for $180 including clearing the check engine light......so my total cost was $315 vs over $800. This is the first domestic car I've owned....I've usually driven Honda, Acura, VW, Toyotas..... and all these cars including the Acura were cheaper to service at the dealer than my Ford. So much for the old wisdom to buy American because it cost less to service. read more

Awful, dishonest. Stay away from Bonnell!! They mess with your car and break stuff, and don't complete repairs properly anyways! They cannot be trusted with your vehicle, they take advantage of people. I have always been a Ford guy, and currently on my 4th Explorer in a row. I will never go back to Bonnell ever again in my life for any reason, not even to turn around in their parking lot. My car had LITERALLY been inspected the day before, got state sticker, so I don't just think there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, I am 100% positive and sure there was not. I of course drove it myself to Bonnell next day for a super small recall on a meaningless bolt- when I left my car with them, there was no problem. But, suddenly, magically, I get a call saying calipers are seized, and both side rotors and brakes now need replacing too. They could not explain or try fix this issue that magically popped up out of nowhere after they had my car for an hour, and on top of it they ripped me off for 2 rotors at 220 bucks (2 at 60 should be around 120, they overcharged me $100), and, they didn't even bother to replace the brake pad on the left side! Am I suggesting they 'created' an issue and then turned around to (over)charge me for service? You are damn right I am. What a joke, I didn't even need service- again, I only went due to a letter from Ford on a trivial recall, not for any issue or problem I was having. Also, while I was there, I paid for new wipers to be put in, and wouldn't you know it- when I got home and lifted up the wiper arms for a pending snowstorm, the new blades fell off onto the ground- they weren't even installed! Pathetic!! So recap- went in for a recall bolt they didn't even touch, and wipers they didn't even install and fell on ground, and came out with a $1000 invoice for a half ass and questionable causation job that wasn't even needed when I dropped the car off. Scam artists hard at work at Bonnell, can't trust em, can't use em. This is the second time I've dropped there for recall, only to have them ignore the recall, and call me with sudden invoices they make up and stuff I wasn't there for and didn't even ask them to mess with. Don't go there to buy, don't go there for service, don't go there for a recall, don't let them get anywhere near your car, not even for a wiper. Heck I wouldn't even let them pump my gas, because they would have to touch my car, and when they touch it, always a new 'mysterious' problem. Bonnell is the WORST around, desperate to rip off every customer who walks in. Don't let it happen to you, go somewhere else!! read more

Solid 5 stars. Had to get a recall done on my Fusion. So I scheduled an appointment easily and got the car in the same week for repair. The shop got me outfitted with a 2020 Fusion Hybrid rental which is a really nice rental. Later in the day I get a call from the shop. They called to let me know my tie rod end on one side needed to be replaced. No other shop mentioned it prior. So getting those done too! Thanks Bonnell for you great Service and a stellar service department who advises the users of any potential safety issues. A+ read more

Wife had the worst experience and customer service with a service department. Had a confirmed email confirmation appointment but the service department said they were booked 2 weeks out. I do not recommend this service department for your ford vehicle. read more

BEWARE!!!! Took car in for a squeaking sound from from of from of the Ford Edge. Jeff (Bonnell?) and he used scare tactics to try to convince into unnecessary work. Jeff stated the car would not pass inspection. (FYI I got it at a gas station the next day with no issues and nothing repaired) He said the car needed a laundry list of repairs totaling $3000. I refused the work and took my car to a reputable local repair shop I have used in the past for a 2nd opinion. All the car needed was front brake pads and rotors replaced. Not the calipers or any of the other 10 items that must be replaced. all BS!!! A family of con artists! read more

I will never return to this dealership's service shop. Earlier this summer I paid for thousands of dollars worth of repairs to my vehicle, and I had a really frustrating time dealing with their customer service during that time. One of the items they informed me about was that I needed a new valve gasket cover, as one of the gaskets had a slight leak leak. They charged me about $360 for parts and labor for this portion of repairs. Several weeks later, I found that there was an oil smell whenever I drove my car, and when I took it to my local neighborhood shop, the mechanic showed me that oil had sprayed all over the inside of my vehicle, due to the rubber gasket ring being improperly place on the valve cover. He could tell I just had it replaced, and explained that it was the dealership mechanic's fault that he did a poor job of putting it on, and suggested I go back to them to ask them for a replacement. He also told me the dealership charged THREE TIMES what a typical mechanic would charge for this part and labor. When I called them, their customer service rep didn't offer an apology, but said that I should have it towed to the shop, and they would take a look at it as soon as possible. I didn't hear anything the next morning, and had to call twice throughout the day and ask what the status was; each time I was told they haven't looked at it yet. Eventually they fixed it at the very end of the day, because they had other vehicles that were a priority (silly, as this was due to their incompetence from the first time I was there; you'd think they would have tried to expedite it). In the end, they blamed it as a "defective part" and repaired it for free, but never once did they apologize or seem to put any sort of urgency into the repair. I was also told that the mechanic power washed my vehicle to get the oil that had sprayed off; however, as soon as I received my car, I could see that there was still oil sprayed everywhere; it had even leaked out over my headlight--which means I'll have to go get a carwash to solve the issues they caused. Again, not impressed. I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

Absolutely horrible experience! Stay away! Went with Bonnell as a local dealership for new Ford Explorer purchase. Engine never seemed right. Found out the transmission was under recall. Dropped vehicle off on 12/22/21 expecting it to take a week for fix. Service is TERRIBLE! They had to bring car to Dorchester for fix. It has been 8 weeks with out the car and we have not received it back yet. Worse than that is the extremely poor communication (that has nothing to do with Covid or supply issues) and only an offer for a "3 day loaner" from the service department after being without a car for 8 weeks with no date to get it back. We were told by Sue Bonnell to "try calling Ford" when asked why when we were sold a new car with a broken transmission we weren't offered a loaner to use while we wait. That is why we went with a local dealership!! STAY AWAY!!! read more

I went in there to get work done on my used car that I bought from another dealer. There were a few recalls, and they don't handle recalls on the weekends. I went their early in the morning to drop off the car, they said they had a shuttle to take me to my office. I call them back in the afternoon, and the shuttle driver didn't show up for the afternoon shift. They basically left me stranded, and I had to ask a co-worker for a lift They didn't offer any other way to pick me up or any other options. They didn't even give me a coupon for an oil change. I am sure they did what they had to do to the car, but it is the little things that makes the difference. read more

Tip-top service! A component in my exhaust system broke. I dropped the vehicle off after hours and was greeted by a voice mail the next morning saying they would do their best to get the problem diagnosed. They did one better; the vehicle was diagnosed and repaired the same day and for a reasonable price. read more
