Traveling through from Memphis to the west coast, had to come via the Delta Diner! Never fails to…read moreplease, and we were so pleased by the blue plate seafood fritters and stuffed hash browns, whole wheat multigrain delicious toast, and so friendly service. The owner stopped by to visit our table and tell us tales of his time checking out Tennessee BBQ, and the waitress ground our coffee and made sure we had everything we needed. We always feel like family here, but let me tell you, none of my family cooks as good as this!!!. We can only stop by about twice a year, but breakfast at the Delta Diner is truly one of the highlights of our year. Stocked up on diner swag, including three bags of ground Counter Creature coffee roasted at the diner! That coffee is making our RV smell great as we drive away.

I wasn't ready to eat at a restaurant, but since I trekked here, I decided to stay. Asked to sit on the patio for better air flow and was told that table is still dirty and I had to take a booth. The host wasn't thrilled when I insisted on waiting and sitting outside. At a time where everybody has different levels of comfort, I'd imagine a bit of flexibility would be key. The rest of the staff was incredibly friendly and they are all over the cleaning and safety measures. A great menu of options, but just wait til they walk you through the daily specials. The sweet potato hash is mixed with real potatoes, and a fantastic savory mix with eggs on top. Had the stuffed hash browns. Highly recommend getting over easy eggs on top as it was a bit dry. Good flavor on the Dutch baby, but was crazy about the jam on top or mushy center. Worth the stop and be prepared to sit a while.

A hidden gem behind the Kwik Trip on the corner of 51 and 70. The Wild Boar has an extremely vast…read moreand unique menu offering game meats and their own bakery items. The inside was charming, a traditional looking Northwoods establishment, and it was very clean. The two girls working were extremely pleasant as well. The food is incredible. Everything is seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly. The portions are very generous and the toast selection is phenomenal. We had the meat lovers omelette and the raspberry oatmeal pancakes. The pancakes were the best I've ever had, and they're going to keep me full for a very long time because of the oats that were mixed into the batter, I didn't even put syrup on them they were that good. I also ordered a side of the duck sausage and that was amazing too. It was seasoned so well and had a citrusy taste. I highly recommended checking out The Wild Boar if you're in the area.

I think we have an official "spot" for breakfast now. The Wild Boar has a lot of really interesting…read morewild game options that you won't find elsewhere, plus a lot of in house bakery items. I stuck with a classic breakfast of maple sausage patties, perfectly done over medium eggs, tater tots (LOVE that this is an option) and homemade cranberry wild rice bread. That bread was amazing - dense and full of cranberries - our server said she recommends people get the turkey sandwich on it and I can see why! Prices are reasonable and the plates are big. Some great game choices if you like that, and plenty of homemade treats to take home too.

Service was also friendly and super efficient, with food made quickly. We were also happy to see there was a steady crowd coming in on a Tuesday night and the staff had no problems making sure everyone was taken care of. We started with the Taste of Manila Egg Rolls because we were so excited to see that something lived on from that restaurant which we miss. The egg rolls were quite tasty and the slaw and sauce just pulled everything together. For our main meals we had the M&O Melt with onion rings and the Red Hot Spicy Clucker with fries. I was happy the the spicy chicken sandwich actually had some heat to it and was full of flavor. The fries were also nicely fried. The M&O Melt was also tasty, and the onion rings were a favorite. Fried nicely so that they had a crunchy bite. It's always a plus when the onion doesn't come out all at once or separate from the breading. These were quite tasty and we definitely recommend the curry ketchup. It added a whole new flavor dimension to the onion rings and fries. Overall, can't wait to try some more menu items next time we're in the area. Definitely recommend.
