This is a tiny little place and is tucked away in a small shopping center. But OMG - the pastries are a little slice of France hidden in little ole Kennesaw, GA. And you know it's good when there's a line almost out the door on a Sunday afternoon. We purchased several pastries to enjoy at home later. They were amazing!! Came and had: a croc monsieur, a "kouign amann", canele and an ice latte. The croc monsieur was layered thick cut toast with a tasty not heavy bechamel, good quality ham and very good melted cheese. The kouign amann was delicious, more like a caramelized croissant, but really good. The canele was the right taste but the wrong texture inside. The display case was beautiful, with a great assortment of pastries. The girls behind the counter so helpful and friendly. The place itself is cute and modern. I'm so happy this place is around and I've been about 10 times since they've opened. The croissants are literally the best I've ever had. Every time I come I buy way more than I should but everything is gone within hours. I can't eat croissants anywhere else because they will never compare to this bakery. I have visited Bonnin's Bakery three times now and each visit has been excellent! The croissants are absolutely incredible - they have amazing lamination and so many textures. Crisp outside, soft inside, tangy yet sweet homemade strawberry filling...truly the best croissants I have ever had. The chocolate pain is also delicious and the ham and cheese pastries reheat nicely for lunch. The employees are very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about ingredients (such as hidden tree nuts). The seating area is pleasant with free ice water available. The last time I went to France was when I was in middle school over 40 years ago. One thing that always stuck with me was the food. It's what the French are known for. Equally known is the cafe culture and the otherworldly pastries. To say it's hard to find a decent bakery outside of the perimeter is an understatement. Just my opinion, but I am tough on most bakeries because I have been to parts of the world that have the best. This was the first time that my wife and I have been to Bonnins Bakery. We started our perfect Saturday morning here. The place was bustling. The crowd was lively. You could feel the excitement to be next. The displays were so inviting and clearly just from the looks of what they offered and the smells inside the cafe (OMG!) you know immediately that this place is legit. The service was incredible. The selections were authentic. If it's your first time, you need something on a baguette and some sort of croissant selection. Just trust me. There is nothing better in a 20 mile radius. Don't forget the coffee. Absolute perfection. And pretty. The whole experience was sublime. I will spend the next month (or more) of Saturdays here. Don't miss this place!! read more

Absolutely phenomenal! Where do I even start, from the French onion soup all the way to the simple macaroon I haven't a single complaint! The area, where you can sit and have your dessert or mails is very cute. The ambience is nice with a little couch for her, just sitting a big table in the corner with a bench style seat, and also a water station with cold water and glasses. The French onion soup had a great tasting broth, which is the most important to me. I've had French onion soup, many places, and typically my favorite is at a Disney Epcot French restaurant, but this was just as good. Me and my granddaughter visited after I had an appointment in Kennesaw, decided to have lunch here. We didn't know what to expect really but upon arrival we were greeted with smiles by the two young ladies at the front counter and they were quick to answer any questions we had. We both had soup. I tried a Valentine special, which was a rather large raspberry macaroon filled with a white cream and fresh raspberries in it was so so good. I couldn't recommend that enough. She loves macaroons and I will say these were some of the best We've had anywhere. We did take a bag at home a couple of croissants and also tried a couple other desserts. Everything as I said it was phenomenal. We visited again this week. It's about a 45-50 minute drive for us but well worth it. Last week I got a loaf of the fresh made sourdough bread. They sliced it for me and I had it for breakfast every morning and it was absolutely great.! This will become a regular for us. Stopped by on my way to my neices track meet. This was a cute little spot. There was a section for sittinf but I picked up my order to go. I picked up some beignets, strawberry croissant, a ham & swiss croissant and a hazelbut latte. Everything we good and seemed fresh. Service was good. The ham & swiss croissant was my favorite. I wasnt too much of a fan of the latte. It was mostly milk and ice and just wasnt my personal favorite. The strawberry croissant was my first time trying. It was very buttery and had a lovely strawberry's filling. The beignets has a really good soft texture but tasted more like a chinese donut than a beignet in my opinion. We stopped here on our way home to Nashville and I'm so very glad we did. My husband had the Jamon sandwich and I got the JBF and both were delicious, especially the bread, which was some of the best I've had in all my travels. I'm a baker and a bread snob so I take it very seriously. The salad was plain but very good, particularly the Dijon based dressing. The eclair and lemon meringue tarts were the stars of the show and worth driving hours for, particularly the tart which reminded me of my mom's. The staff were all lovely and welcoming and the cafe itself is adorable with its wall of Marie Antoinette artwork. The prices are incredibly reasonable and it's very easy to find parking as well. All in all we had a wonderful time and have already made plans to return. I don't often leave reviews but this place was so wonderful I felt I had to. This bakery is a legit French Super Star! Everyone that came in would say "Bonjour, bonjour!" So you know it's the real deal. The variety of croissants is awesome and delicious. From ham & cheese (!), to a beautiful strawberry, chocolate and of course plain. I enjoyed my first visit here with a friend for lunch. I got the spinach quiche and the crust was so good. It was flaky like a croissant and I loved it. I also got a fruit tart that was delicious. My friend enjoyed the tomato mozzarella sandwich. This was her third time visiting this bakery and she has loved it every time. I will definitely come back and try some of the other pastries soon! Don't walk: run there!!! I wish I lived closer. I went there with my friend when they opened: I tried their croissant, flan (because it's my favorite dessert), a cannelé, a kouing amann for breakfast. I know, it's a lot for one person but since I live in Austin, I had to try a lot of things. Everything was so good. The feuilletage was just perfect. Love love the kouing amann and the flan had so much real vanilla in it: you could see the little dots. Ok, now the upsetting part: I was so excited I didn't take pictures. My friend knew they were going to open bc she used to get some baked goods from them at the market. I believe they're still doing a few days but not as many until they find more people to work. My friend also got some baked goods. We both bought some candies and french pantry stuff. I also bought a strawberry cake that we ordered for my friend's birthday. It was delicious. The owners (wife and husband) are very young and very friendly. The owner who is the baker is great at what he's doing, he knows his stuff. Now I wish I tried their croque monsieur.
