    Lunch at La Petite Maison
    Peggy H.

One of my favorite places once again does not disappoint. My three friends and I had lunch yesterday at this wonderful restaurant. The owner greeted us warmly and showed us to our booth. This was their first visit to this intimate spot and they were immediately charmed. You feel as though you have been whisked away to the south of France. The delightful Provençal menu welcomes you and displays its charms. We began with Kir Royals . . . Champagne with tasty crème de cassis. So very French! We then ordered French onion soup gratinee and a special lobster bisque. Delicious! Next, our entrees. A croque madame, complete with an egg on top, a pressed chicken sandwich, and two seafood special . . . Flounder dressed with a field green salad and served with tartar sauce and toast points with sauce Provençal and frites, So delicious. We ended the meal with a shared, perfectly executed crème brûlée. Such a special meal! This is such a gem, hidden away on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. If you long for a taste of Provençal cuisine, look no farther. This may become one of your favorite restaurants.

Wow! I've always passed this restaurant driving down Roswell Road and never thought to stop and get a bite. However, a friend of mine treated me to dinner last night at this restaurant. As soon as we started walking up, I noticed how beautiful the ambiance of the enclosed outdoor patio and the interior was. Such a great vibe in there and wait staff/ Hostess everybody was super friendly! We were seated at our table which already had toasted bread with olives and a olive relish. I had the escargot which was incredible! And then followed it up with trout for dinner. It was delicious and the portions are huge! I could not finish my entree. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse which was to die for! I would highly recommend this restaurant any day and I will return especially when my guests come from out of town. So happy my friend turned me on to this gem!

Lovely dinner with the family. We came here on a Monday night and so the restaurant was not quite as busy as the weekend, when we were turned away. The service is excellent. We had a bottle of red from Cot Du Rhône which was excellent. I had to start with escargo for the appetizer which were wonderful, then had the seafood linguine, and finished with crème brûlée which was divine. The owner came by to speak to us a few times and made us feel welcome. Can't wait to come again.

La Petite Maison is a cute little French restaurant located in Sandy Springs. They have indoor and outdoor seating along with a small bar. We had reservations for 8pm and although 5 minutes early, the table was not ready for us. Once we were ready to be seated, one of the servers motioned us to the table and we sat ourselves. Ok. After that, the assistant server brought us water, bread, and olives but we weren't greeted by our actual waiter until 20 minutes after being seated. Needless to say, the service is painfully slow and disorganized so make sure you enjoy the company you are with as dinner will be a 2 hour process from start to finish. Luckily, we had a good time despite the service mishaps. We started with the beef carpaccio appetizer and it was delicious. For my entree, I had the Coquilles St. Jacques Monaco, which is scallops with rice and spinach. My date enjoyed the filet mignon with vegetables. Both were very tasty but presentation was a bit lacking. The presentation of the dessert however, is a whole other story. We shared the Tarte Tatin and Tiramisu. Presentation was beautiful and the apple tarte was especially delicious, served with ice cream, caramel, creme fresh, and sour cream.

Two beauties preparing to enjoy their meal-- one "Miss Maid of Cotton, the other, "Miss Pelham".

If you are in the Sandy Springs area of Atlanta I believe you will enjoy dining at La Petite Madison. I recommend this establishment for dining rather than just eating. Great ambiance, excellent service, wonderful preparation and presentation and a great libration selection. Go. I don't believe you will be disappointed.

We love Le petit Maison for a family dinner and we chose the delectable 3 course dinner with reservation! I loved how the waitress recommending the veal carpaccio, which was tender and delicious treat! the appetizer of bread and olives was a great starter with paired well with the french onion soup, which was savory. The steak frites cooked medium and salad was a delicious. The sweet dessert treats we tried were the cream puffs, which are called in French as profiteroles and the creme brulee!

Service was slow and it took close to 25 minutes to get our order! Onion soup was not bursting with flavor the best part was the cheese melted on top on top of a thin slice of bread. I have definitely had better! Our server kept forgetting things: our drinks, refills on water our order: Who wanted the strip steak medium rare and who wantefof them rare etc. or small things like lemon for our water or tea etc. Food was tasty but not plentiful strip steak was less than a fourth of an inch thick possibly 6 ounces. Presentation was much to be desired! As in the other reviews I read profiterole's were the best

I've been hearing so much about this place, that I had to try it. My son and I stopped here for lunch one day. I've been sooo looking forward to having some escargots. they were a tad tasteless. Even though they had the right amount of garlic and parsley you didn't taste them. The bread was dry and kind of old . The warm goat cheese salad was very good, but again the bread was stale and dry. The ladies were super nice. I'm just so sad and disappointed because I was so hopeful.

I have never been to a higher end French Restaurant that only offered three white wines by the glass. Pushing bottles perhaps? The only white that even sounded half way decent was a boring Chardonnay at $17 for a 4-5 ounce pour. Insanity. The room we were seated in was fine, drapery everywhere which I'm sure was used to create a cozy intimate atmosphere - but the result missed the mark. Our server was gracious and attentive to start, but then became a bit absent once more guests arrived. My husband started with the much touted onion soup. No French chef would incorporate such a mass of cheese and salt to this classic preparation. There was nothing epic or outstanding about it. (even after our server said something like "the NY Times said it was the best in the country.") Yeah, right. For the mains I went with the duck confit accompanied by potatoes sarladasies. The spuds, if correctly prepared, are supposed to be garlicky and crisp after being pan fried in duck or goose fat. Mine were limp and bland. I have no idea what was in their sauce verte - as it added nothing flavor wise, and sadly just soaked the potatoes. The duck was OK. Again, nothing memorable. My husband ordered the $34 burger after hearing the $70 plus price tag for the Dover Sole Meunière. Lunacy. I mean the beef patty was tasty, but nothing better than an old fashioned cook-out one grilled in your own backyard. The frites were just weird. We have been to France on several occasions and never encountered such a preparation. Would we ever go back? Nope.

I visited with a friend who had been dying to try it, and we left very happy with our experience. Our server was fantastic and extremely helpful in navigating the menu and assisting my friend with a cocktail choice she really enjoyed. It's those small details that make a difference. We shared a few different dishes and everything was executed well. My friend's chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful, and my Branzino was pretty good. Our accompanying sides were the whipped potatoes, broccoli, and the patatas bravas. Parking in West Midtown can be a headache, but there is valet right adjacent to the restaurant in the Cottonwood Westside apartment complex. Little trick is that if you decide to use the valet in the little square area, they will validate your parking. However, since it is located in Buckhead Village parking can be a challenge at times, however very cheap at two dollars an hour. This is significantly cheaper to downtown Chicago or any other section of Chicago equivalent to Buckhead Village where it is over $14 an hour on the street parking. Anyhow, let me say that Pedro our server was fantastic. He is so full of personality and courtesy and super patient with us. I've read many reviews to talk about slow service and I have to say it is not slow service. It is simply them telling you that they are not rushing you through a meal that is to be enjoyed in an amazing ambience. And they let you move at your pace, which is fantastic. We should've known there would be issues from the drink order: A vodka tonic order yielded a vodka soda even after she confirmed he wanted tonic, not soda. The other drinks came out at different times. We ordered bread and our salads and entrees. Then the server brought out a plate of deviled eggs " a gift from the chef!" How nice. They were good, we appreciated it. Our entrees were OK: Short ribs were rich and meaty, redfish was good but a bit overcooked and dried out, pork was OK, mussels were good, but the bread wasn't grillled and was slathered with almost inedibly salty garlic butter. The salads were meh. We had wine and water and asked for our checks so we could make sunset. She brought back one check for two couples and a single. We asked if she could split it. She came back a few minutes later, after we sent the birthday folks to the roof for sunset, she said we could "just throw a card down" for the combined check. We reminded her that we wanted to split the check. She completely forgot. Several minutes later, we go our checks. Those deviled eggs that were supposed to be a "a gift from the chef?" They were on one of the checks. Thanks so much for the gift. Anyway, we quickly paid and made it upstairs before the sun was below the horizon. The roof is awesome. But Tiny Lou's is a one and done. Not worth the price. Not special. Would rather just eat at home post-sunset.
