I haven't been here in 10 years and I came by for lunch today. It's certainly my loss because I had a great lunch. One of my favorite things to always get at any French bistro is their croque monsieur. This one was light fluffy really delicious with a side salad. I just finished playing pickleball it was thirsty and the server filled my glass up every time it was empty probably about 10 times. Really great attitude too. I never think of this place for business lunches but I am in the future. Just a really relaxed at home casual kind of atmosphere. My team decided to go for lunch and we chose La Petite Maison. It's located off of Roswell Rd, not to far from the Abernathy intersection. It's a standalone build and not part of the shopping centers. Upon walking in, it has an elevated feel with White table service. We visited on a Thursday for lunch and it was fairly busy and the service was a little slow. From a food perspective- around the table, we had a couple of seafood orders, a salad, and a couple of sandwiches. Admittedly, it was just ok. The fish dishes were very dry and the salads were overdressed. The sandwich options received better feedback from the group. For lunch - there are better options. If I was going for an occasion (and for dinner), I might give it another shot. read more

One of my favorite places once again does not disappoint. My three friends and I had lunch yesterday at this wonderful restaurant. The owner greeted us warmly and showed us to our booth. This was their first visit to this intimate spot and they were immediately charmed. You feel as though you have been whisked away to the south of France. The delightful Provençal menu welcomes you and displays its charms. We began with Kir Royals . . . Champagne with tasty crème de cassis. So very French! We then ordered French onion soup gratinee and a special lobster bisque. Delicious! Next, our entrees. A croque madame, complete with an egg on top, a pressed chicken sandwich, and two seafood special . . . Flounder dressed with a field green salad and served with tartar sauce and toast points with sauce Provençal and frites, So delicious. We ended the meal with a shared, perfectly executed crème brûlée. Such a special meal! This is such a gem, hidden away on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. This is my go-to French spot in Atlanta. The French onion soup is perfect--honestly, better than most of what we've had in Paris. The house-made foie gras is dangerously good. I've tried a bunch of the main dishes, and while most are fantastic, the veal with mushroom sauce is my favorite. For dessert, I always get the tart Tatin--again, better than most I've had in Paris. Wow! I've always passed this restaurant driving down Roswell Road and never thought to stop and get a bite. However, a friend of mine treated me to dinner last night at this restaurant. As soon as we started walking up, I noticed how beautiful the ambiance of the enclosed outdoor patio and the interior was. Such a great vibe in there and wait staff/ Hostess everybody was super friendly! We were seated at our table which already had toasted bread with olives and a olive relish. I had the escargot which was incredible! And then followed it up with trout for dinner. It was delicious and the portions are huge! I could not finish my entree. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse which was to die for! I would highly recommend this restaurant any day and I will return especially when my guests come from out of town. Small restaurant with both indoor and outdoor sections. It's nice that it doesn't get too loud due to the limited number of guests. Lovely dinner with the family. We came here on a Monday night and so the restaurant was not quite as busy as the weekend, when we were turned away. The service is excellent. We had a bottle of red from Cot Du Rhône which was excellent. I had to start with escargo for the appetizer which were wonderful, then had the seafood linguine, and finished with crème brûlée which was divine. The owner came by to speak to us a few times and made us feel welcome. Can't wait to come again. read more

Update - It has been a few weeks since posting this review, and honestly I half expected at least an online reply from the restaurant. Sad to report - note a peep. Original Review.... Let me say I am a huge supporter of Le Petite Maison, and this review is intended to get their attention to improve following our experience today. We visited for lunch with friends we wanted to introduce to the restaurant. The food was very, very good, and as excellent as we have had during past visits. However, there were a collection of small but shocking service failures, including: 1. On arrival, instead of being shown to our table, the person acting as the manager (Raphael) said "your booth is the second one over there", and did NOT lead us to the table and welcome us; 2. The bus boy dd not remove the water glasses and pour away from the table. Instead, he tilted the water pitcher on its side and poured while the glasses were on the table in front of each person. One glass (mine) was over-poured and flooded the table cloth in front of me. A server should NEVER do this; 3. One of the glasses had lipstick on 2 sides of the glass. No one took the time to visually check to make sure the glasses were clean! 4. When the meal arrived, the server attempted to hand each person their plate, seemingly waiting until we grabbed the plate, instead of placing it in front of the person; 5. During the meal, we noticed that truck and delivery drivers were coming in and out of the kitchen into the bar/dining area. They wanted to get a signature from Raphael. Delivery drivers should never enter the sacred protected dining space. It was terribly rude by the staff to allow them to go in and out of the dining room as they did; 6. The main course was fantastic, and we decided to order profiterols, a very popular signature dessert of the restaurant. We even briefed our guests in advance to save room for profiteroles. So imagine our shock when Raphael returned to our table and announced they would be unable to serve us the profiteroles we ordered, saying they just were not ready. Clearly they didn't plan the day in advance. WE love the Le Petite Maison restaurant we enjoyed during previous visits, but not the experience we had today. Again, the food was fantastic, but the service was far below par. There is a definite lack of fine dining experience and training displayed by Raphael, the bus boy, and the delivery drivers coming into the dining room. We will go back, but we are also hoping that the owner reads this review and takes steps to make sure the restaurant is managed to the same high standards that were present under the previous owner. read more

La Petite Maison is a cute little French restaurant located in Sandy Springs. They have indoor and outdoor seating along with a small bar. We had reservations for 8pm and although 5 minutes early, the table was not ready for us. Once we were ready to be seated, one of the servers motioned us to the table and we sat ourselves. Ok. After that, the assistant server brought us water, bread, and olives but we weren't greeted by our actual waiter until 20 minutes after being seated. Needless to say, the service is painfully slow and disorganized so make sure you enjoy the company you are with as dinner will be a 2 hour process from start to finish. Luckily, we had a good time despite the service mishaps. We started with the beef carpaccio appetizer and it was delicious. For my entree, I had the Coquilles St. Jacques Monaco, which is scallops with rice and spinach. My date enjoyed the filet mignon with vegetables. Both were very tasty but presentation was a bit lacking. The presentation of the dessert however, is a whole other story. We shared the Tarte Tatin and Tiramisu. Presentation was beautiful and the apple tarte was especially delicious, served with ice cream, caramel, creme fresh, and sour cream. read more

I loved how the waitress recommending the veal carpaccio, which was tender and delicious treat! the appetizer of bread and olives was a great starter with paired well with the french onion soup, which was savory. Service was slow and it took close to 25 minutes to get our order! Onion soup was not bursting with flavor the best part was the cheese melted on top on top of a thin slice of bread. I have definitely had better! Our server kept forgetting things: our drinks, refills on water our order: Who wanted the strip steak medium rare and who wantefof them rare etc. or small things like lemon for our water or tea etc. Food was tasty but not plentiful strip steak was less than a fourth of an inch thick possibly 6 ounces. I've been hearing so much about this place, that I had to try it. My son and I stopped here for lunch one day. I've been sooo looking forward to having some escargots. they were a tad tasteless. Even though they had the right amount of garlic and parsley you didn't taste them. The bread was dry and kind of old . The warm goat cheese salad was very good, but again the bread was stale and dry. I had a wonderful, long, relaxed, and authentically French birthday meal at La Petite Maison on a Friday night. Reservations are a must for indoor seating! We enjoyed escargots, charcuterie, marmite du pecheur, two different duck dishes (of course one was à l'orange), and veal scallopini (escalope du veau à la Normande). The menu is very heavy on fish and seafood, and I wish we had gotten more. I especially wish we had tried the frog legs. Everything was deliceux! I learned later that the original owners had a restaurant in Nice - the Mediterranean influence was evident. The host and waiters were attentive, genuine, and expert at their craft. The waiter bought me crème brûlée for me birthday, and we also ordered mousse au chocolat. Absolument magnifique! Merci! A group of 12 foodie friends enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Le Petite Maison. Most of us chose the 3 course Prix Fixe menu. Service was outstanding. The owner explained everything and took care of use. This is a neat upscale restaurant in busy area. Don't blink as you are driving down Roswell Road or you will miss this nice place set slightly back from the road. First the food. Excellent! I had the salmon special with rice (pictured). Nice size portion and very tasty. One friend had the Croque Poulet , and really liked it. Another friend had the swordfish, which he enjoyed. All in all we were all happy. One note: most items include french fries but you can substitute rice for a healthier alternative. Only downside was the bread seemed stale today. Service was very good considering the place was packed today with holiday luncheons. We have gone in the past and found it much less crowded. We never noticed the noise, but with all the people today it was loud considering there is nothing to absorb the sound. Also French restaurants can be snooty, but not this place as it has more of a southern feel. Good upscale vibe without being pretentious. A little pricey but worth it. read more

I'm writing this review while I'm still at the restaurant because my experience was just that bad. We ordered a variety of dishes, and they were all very underwhelming and honestly bad, especially for the price point. *French onion soup ($8): okay, tastes like Panera French onion soup *Charcuterie plate ($17): the pate had a very unpleasant, almost fishy aftertaste; the other cuts of meats were just okay. For the entire board, we also only got 2 small slices of bread. *Filet aux Cepes ($40): for being a filet mignon, it was kinda chewy, but at least they got the medium rare temperature right. *Scallops ($34): this dish was the WORST thing we had. Right when the dish was brought out, we could immediately smell that it was extremely fishy smelling. The scallops were rubbery, gritty/sandy, and did not taste sweet/fresh like expensive scallops should at all. The brown sauce was overpowering and didn't really go well with the scallops. The scallops at Bistro Niko are way better and are how scallops should taste. *Ratatouille ($8): we got this as an extra side, and it was the best thing we had here, which is honestly kinda sad. I have no idea why this place has such high reviews..did we just not get the right dishes? No matter what, for spending $130 before tip/tax, this was honestly a very horrible experience. I broke my streak of not writing Yelp reviews anymore just to give this place a review lol. read more

Needed to have a late night dinner. Called for reservations for two and was booked in that evening. Upon arriving Raphael greeted us and sat us immediately. The friendly smile with white table cloths and red roses set the mood for a wonderful dining experience. We started off with the escargot for our appetizer. Brought hot to the table in a garlicky butter with bread was delicious. For the entree the tuna with white sauce and the shrimp and scallops on top of linguine with a white wine sauce. The entrees were cooked to perfection with outstanding presentation! For dessert we had for small vanilla ice cream and pastries rolled in chocolate and shaved almonds.
