I get so happy whenever I visit a place from my bookmarks so guess my mood when my bookclub also chose it for our meeting :D It's a beautiful little pastry shop that also serves crepes, brunch and drinks. To one side is an assortment of yummy pastries, cakes and all kinds of sweet treats. And to the other side is a gorgeous-looking antique bookshelf that extends all the way to the back. Guess which side I picked first- books of course!! One whiff and I was hooked to them. The lovely bookseller Joshua walked me through the collection and explained about them very well. I was too tempted to sit and read before realization kicked in that I had a bookclub meeting to get to lol. I bid my sad farewell and went back to my buddies. In between the meeting, I checked out the amazing lineup of pastries and picked a delicious looking Nutella roll. I was initially eyeing the eclair but settled for the roll. Crepe station was closed but I made a mental note to come back and check it out. My Nutella roll was very flaky and tasted good. My friends got different drinks and they all loved them. A bit pricey overall for my liking but definitely good for occasional visits. Seating area is a bit limited so I wonder how they'd manage if too many people dine in. That might be an area of improvement for them. Parking can be tight but not very hard to find.

Cute cafe with lots of patisserie! I like that they provided options for a mini or regular sized almond croissant. I got the mini to fill my craving. Crispy on the outside and nice soft layers inside with the right amount of filling. Wished it was warmed - they said they were going to warm it but it felt like room temp to me when I got it. Got a slice of chocolate cake as well - lots of stuff going on in there - rich and delicious! A bit pricey at $9 after tax though. Definitely coming back to try other items!

Excellent cappuccino!! Excellent crepes! The ambiance is top notch! Great soft music, book shelves full of books you can purchase, lovely French tables. The customer service is friendly, personable, top notch! Clean! I've been here before and I love it more this time! Come visit!

Beautiful presentation of pastries. I appreciate that when you grab pastries to go, they'll tape them to the bottom of the box so that they'll stay in place. We grabbed an assortment of sweet pastries to share. Some were sweet. Some were tart. Overall, we enjoyed the variety of flavors.

I've been to Colette YEARS ago, when it was run by the previous owners. They have new owners now, and I think things have changed. I used to love their fruit tarts, but this time, the filling texture wasn't great. It was a little chunky and not smooth like before. I also ordered a Chocolate croissant, and it was good but not mind blowing. A little disappointing, but I will still give it another try in the future!

Name of the cake was Exotic.

We got the Exotic cake to celebrate at a friend's birthday dinner. While the cake tasted good, it looked plain. No birthday plaque (even though they said they're going to include it) or any kind writing on the cake. So that was a disappointment to be charged $80+ for a plain cake and a pastry. I didn't realized it until it was cake cutting time as the box was tied shut. It was quite embarrassing. Consider yourself be warned. If you're getting a cake from this place, get your own cake topper/plaque to put on the cake.

This prominent pastry shop offered beverages and fresh crepes as well. I got a cranberry white chocolate mousse, a distinctive combination and an indulgence. The pistachio croissant I took with me was quite sweet for pistachio, but good when eaten alone. The limitations of French cuisine for those with special dietary needs are typical, but for others there is plenty worth trying.

Overall, food is okay. I used to go here a lot as a kid and recently revisited (it changed locations a while back so I lived a bit further from it). I used to love the pastries here, but it seems that the selection is more limited now. Got the croque monsieur, a latte, and an eclair. Croque monsieur was okay, I had a hard time finishing it. Latte was pretty solid. Eclair was not very memorable. Would say that the inside is nicely decorated, and overall ambiance is nice. However I cannot say the same for the quality of the food, especially for the price

So glad I stumbled upon Colette French Pastry Cafe when visiting Alpharetta. We needed a caffeine fix, and a French bakery is generally a good bet for a decent treat to go along with it. The interior is very cozy with French (and more specifically Paris) theming and decor. They have one side with shelves of books that had a nice library type feel to it. The French music is a lovely touch as it let us escape to Paris for at least a little while as we enjoyed our drinks. They offer a French breakfast and even have Orangina on offer which is one of the more typical drink offerings you'll find at cafes in France. For drinks, we ordered a latte and a mocha...both were a solid 4.5/5, being strong, smooth, and robust, without being too sweet. It's recommended to get there early as they do run out of pastry and bakery items later in the morning. They had run out of the chocolate croissant we wanted to try, so we wound up going with the carrot cake (4/5). It wasn't as moist as I generally like carrot cake to be, but it was typical of European baking style, and I liked that it wasn't too sugary. The employees were all very engaging and friendly. Since Yelp doesn't allow half stars, I don't mind rounding up from 4.5 for my rating since we really enjoyed the ambiance and overall experience.

Always love to come here for a quick bit of sweet. This time came for a whole cake for hubby's birthday. We got the Plaisir - which is the creme brûlée, vanilla cream cheese cake. Don't get scared if you don't like cheese, you will love this. Light and fluffy, with the touch of caramel brûlée on top, love it! Love it love it! Well since we were there, my kiddo can't resist to satisfy their sweet tooth. Lemon mousse in a bubble cube form just makes you hold your fork and look at it for a while. Again their mousse is as light as cloud, with lemon flavor. Fall season can't resist anything pumpkin! Glossy candy pumpkin cake has some cranberry jam (if I didn't remember wrong) in the center. Always love the surprise and heart in each pastry.

This place is in the heart of Alpharetta downtown. You have plenty of parking here, but it's on the road. You can't miss it. You have to visit this place for their handmade chocolates and bakery items. These people are genuinely very kind and nice Services. Awesome they even fixed our grapes when we felt it wasn't right. We also bought a bunch of other chocolates and Croissant they were super good. We would definitely like to come back here and try other sandwiches but make sure you come early because they run out of stuff very soon because they're so good and awesome. You will find an amazing inside this restaurant 2225 people seating they are so delicious Proved amazing. You should not miss this place. If you're in area for a quick grab or a breakfast or even a coffee

I had the most amazing croissant of my life I went in on Sunday afternoon and the place was busy, they have a few tables, a crepe station, and rare books. It has a light and airy feel to it. The service was wonderful and they had a great selection even late in the day. I am so excited to come and dine in soon.

Colette is a cute, little French pastry shop near Downtown Alpharetta. It was fairly quiet inside the shop on a weekday afternoon with only myself waiting to order and several attendants behind the counter, but unfortunately I wasn't greeted. The ambience left much to be desired as there was stone cold silence not conducive for dining in--atleast they could play some French music. The display cases were beautifully presented with a wonderous array of colors and assorted pastries. The pastries primarily consisted of tarts, mousses, and macaroons. I opted for a vanilla macaroon $2.25 and the heart shaped mousse $6.75. The desserts are very expensive for the portion so I had high hopes for the taste. As soon as I bit into the macaroon, it tasted of cardboard and food coloring? I'm glad I didn't purchase more because it wasn't worth it. The heart mousse was beautifully decorated and tasted delicious, in contrast with the macaroon. Overall, beautiful presentation, high prices, and the flavors are hit or miss depending on the pastry you choose.

Why did this place close!? Collete was the best!!

Recommended by a friend that lives near by

One of our favorite breakfast places, stopped by today and it was closed, anyone know why?

Past owner retired and passed it on under a new name (Colette) to a close friend of hers!

How do I see a menu? Can't find any online.

Are you currently accepting cash payment?

    They do take cash!

Hello. I stopped by at your store today and it was closed. Will you be open tomorrow 12/22?

They just reopened on February 26th 2026!

Hello. Saw on Yelp the store is closed until June 4th 2020. Is that true?

Thank you for checking, yes as today we may reopen last weekend of May but it is not confirmed yet. See you soon.

If I wanted to get a cake here, should I call in ahead or do you have cakes/large tarts available daily?

We do have a nice selection daily, but it is always better to order what you want one day ahead at least. Thank you for asking.

I wanted to send a gift to a family who just lost their mother, she was a huge fan of french pastries and I won't be in town to pick up the order. Is there any way I could arrange a delivery, please let me know the cost?

Please text me your telephone number on my business number (678.770.6066) and I will be sure to call you back. I will make sure we can help you here.

Hello Catherine. May I know what type of cakes you have for the holidays?

We have the traditional Christmas Logs, 5 flavors and 4 sizes. We have stopped to take pre order but you are welcome to stop by the shop to pick up your choice. We will have plenty Rotherham selections, as usual first come first serve. Thank you.…

I lived in Paris for years, and I enjoyed the pain au chocolat and the fresh baguettes. Do you make baguettes? And what time to have fresh ones?

Unfortunately we are a pastry shop not a boulangerie , this is the reason why we do not make bread, as you had experimented in France you have patisseries, boulangerie, or boulangerie & patisserie.…

    Do they make sugar-free cakes?

Unfortunately we do not. Thank you for your inquiry, I wish we could do. Have a good day.

They have a chocolate mousse type desert that is gluten free, right? I would love to know the ingredients, is that possible?

It is a matignon, if that helps you search for comparable recipes. It's also the best cake we've ever eaten!

Do they have gluten free options?

Macaroons are available as are large fruit tarts made with almond paste and salads.

    Petit fours for bridal shower?

I know they have a lot of mini dessert options. I personally don't like petifores so I can't recall if they have them specifically but they have delicious tiny tarts, eclairs, macaroons and more.

The interior was adorable but what impressed us the most was their approach to coffee. We had no idea there were so many different ways to process coffee beans so we ended up looking them up while enjoying our drinks. Once we learned more about them, we were so intrigued that we actually ordered some coffee online afterward! It was easy to see why this cafe is so popular. The line kept getting longer and longer the entire time we were there. It's a fairly small cafe so seating was pretty limited as well. I ordered the Latte with Caramel Cardamom and it was delicious! My husband got the Coffee Shot of Chamomile Pink Bourbon from their "Coffee Nerd Drinks" menu. He was especially interested in it because of the brewing method. I'm usually not a black coffee drinker but I tried a sip and was surprised by how much I liked it. There were still so many drinks we wanted to try but since this was only a weekend trip, we didn't have enough time. We'll definitely be visiting again the next time we're in the area!

Their regular coffee is good (out of an extensive drink menu including seasonal specials) and they have a decent breakfast menu. I like the variety of seating in this coffeehouse. There's the main room with lots of tables, high-tops, and couch. I definitely appreciate that there's signage on some tables to mind your time of 2 hours if you're working there. There's also a separate sunny porch area that is much quieter than the main room. When the noise level inside got a little loud with music and typical coffeehouse chatter, I moved outside. You'll find plenty of outdoor seating. I just wish there was a little more shade. I came here to meet with friends on a Fri morning. Thankfully parking wasn't too much of an issue but I can see the small private lot being a challenge for large groups. I'm definitely a fan of the pretzel roll I ordered - contrary to its name, it looks like a nothing like a roll but more like a savory flattened croissant which had some slight amount of protein (can't remember if it was chicken or ham) inside. The coffee was good - I try not to be swayed by the beautiful trendy drinks most coffeehouses are serving. I'd certainly come back to this cafe if I were in the area.
