When you walk inside, it definitely looks nice. However, my experience wasn't anything amazing, unfortunately. Service was incredibly slow. We came in on a Saturday morning, no one was there. There wasn't anything crazy happening to excuse the long wait for our food. Food was is eh. Nothing out of the ordinary for me. I got the steak and eggs. It comes with some potatoes as well. On the menu, it says "NY Strip Steak" and our waiter even asked if that was okay. They ended up serving us Rib Roast and the waiter came out as they served it to us and said "oh my manager said they changed the cut"....those are two different types of meat/steak and it would have been nice to have the option to change my meal because really, the rib roast was not good at all. It had no flavor to it and it carried a lot of liquid to it that all the liquid fell to the bottom of the bowl and mushed up the potatoes. La Belle Vie is a beautiful, full service dining option. Two friends and I decided to visit for brunch. The restaurant allows reservations, which is perfect. We arrived at 12:30 and were seated immediately. The restaurant was not busy but had a steady crowd. I'm not sure of the exact why, but our food arrived at 2:15 p.m. By that time, several diners who arrived after us had eaten and left. One of my friends mentioned her meal was lukewarm. We did speak with a manager, and the individual apologized and sought to make things right, which was much appreciated. You know a restaurant is good if you've visited not once but twice in the same week! Thursday was a night that I craved peace and quiet, so I decided to try La Belle Vie Kitchen solo. Between the book that I was reading and the ambience, this place was all that I needed for an evening to reset and unplug. The service was top-notch and so was the meal. Salmon Beurre Blanc with garlic mashed potatoes did not disappoint. No corners were cut, I was beyond pleased. Full flavor and pan-seared perfectly. Add French Onion Soup du Jour as a starter and Crème Brûlée for dessert and it was like being served a dose of everything I wanted in exactly the right portions. Oh, and last but not least, the server waited on a large party so the Chef was kind enough to double as my server. When I told him I had done myself a disservice for the past 8 years of being just 3 miles away and never dining there, he shared that 2025 marks his 8th year since opening the restaurant. This is such a cute cafe. I really enjoy the seating inside. It's adorable. The food here was nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken and waffles and the croissants are awesome. My friends had shrimp and grits, and some other more savory menu items (couldn't be me. Sweet for the win). They thought they were decent. We did have one thing-- there is not much in terms of vegan options. There was supposed to be a vegan platter on the menu but when we went, we were told they do not have it. So I am not sure about how much there would be to eat if you have any vegans in your group! But the waitress was super nice and attentive and the atmosphere was great. I went once for brunch and ordered the egg benedict and chicken&waffle. Chicken and waffle was delicious! It's one of those dishes that you think can't be messed up but it easily is. However they cooked it well. Chicken was flavorful and cooked perfectly and the waffle wasn't soggy. The egg benedict wasn't my type of dish. They overcooked the eggs so you didn't get the runny yolk when you pop the poached egg. I might've expected the typical hollandaise sauce, but it definitely wasn't it. Potatoes were delicious though -- I'd have to say it was one of the best potatoes I've had for brunch. We visited again for dinner and ordered the arugula prosciutto pizza, grilled octopus, and calamari. Prosciutto was a bit too salty for me, but overall it tasted good. We had dinner here on a Tuesday night, and it was so quiet and cozy and easy. The server was attentive and kind, the music was festive, and the ambiance was great. We tried escargot for the first time, and they were buttery, tender, and garlicky. We also had etouffee (a fish, crawfish, and crab mixture on fried rice) for the first time, and it was so good I just needed a moment alone to enjoy the flavors. I don't know how a new dish tastes so much like home, but it does. We also had coq au vin blac, which was a chicken dish in white wine cream sauce--I think this perfectly grilled and flavors were great, too. We decided to get out of the house for brunch and give this place a try. We've walked past several times when it was closed and the menu looked interesting. We arrived around 1pm on Sunday and it wasn't too busy. We were seated immediately. The brunch menu has all the usual items you would expect from a place in midtown. Our group started with some brunch cocktails. The Clockwork Orange had an attractive presentation. The crabcake benedict was the highlight of the day. For $19 I was expecting to get half a muffin with one crab cake. It was a pleasant surprise to get two crab cakes and the whole muffin. This would have easily been $30-$40 in midtown. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection and the crab cakes were as good as any I've had in Maryland. Service was attentive but not to the point that you have to tell the servers to stop asking if everything is ok every 5 minutes. Keep this place on your list of brunch options because you can't go wrong. read more

Oh, where to begin! My husband and I made a reservation for Valentine's Day six weeks in advance. When we arrived on time, we were told there were no tables available despite having made our reservation well ahead of time. After waiting 15 minutes, they finally managed to seat us. The drinks were disappointing, and the server was very unprofessional. We ordered the charcuterie board, which turned out to be quite bland. The cheese did not justify the price, and they served it with grocery store crackers. The main courses were just okay. For the price, I expected better quality and have certainly found better elsewhere at a similar cost. By then, we had already decided we wouldn't stay for dessert--and thankfully, that decision was made beforehand. When we declined dessert, our waiter quipped, "That's good because we're out of clean silverware." It was a detail I didn't need to hear but one that summed up the overall atmosphere of the evening. I understand the challenges of being busy on Valentine's Day, but a little professionalism and better food would have gone a long way in improving the experience. Eggs Benedict- the poached egg was basically a boiled egg. No runny yolk, it was barely a soft egg. Strawberry and cream French toast- no fresh strawberries, you get the overly sweet candies strawberry. The French toast itself was good. Overall, we did not like our first experience but I would definitely give this place another chance and come again. Looking for new places to go outside of the Atlanta circle, I was scrolling through La Belle's pictures and saw a short rib hash served for their weekend brunch. When I arrived and ordered this menu item, I was expecting to get a chunk of meat on top of hash. What I got was an entire bone-in, hefty, tender short rib on top of tasty root vegetables with simmered onions and an over-easy egg on the side. The meal was fantastic and very filling. I went today for brunch with my friends. They no longer take reservations for Sunday brunch. We arrived pretty early at 11am. The restaurant opened at 10:30 am and there were a good number of people there already. We started with an order of the fresh baked mini croissants. They were warm, sweet, flaky, and delicious. I ordered the short rib hash and a peach bellini. I liked that I was able to customize my food order. I requested no bacon and a scrambled egg instead of a sunny side up egg. When my food came, the short rib was tender and well seasoned. As I write this, I realized I didn't receive the side salad with my order. My friends ordered the oxtail grit bowl and a lobster omelet. The peach bellinis were delicious. Overall a great experience, the food portion was good and great customer service. I will definitely visit again when I'm in town. read more
