Our food was delicious! I had the brisket, a large sweet potato, squash casserole and garlic bread. All were good. The casserole was not very warm though. I absolutely love their BBQ sauce. My husband got a huge burger with pulled pork. (See photo). He was a very happy man with that big sandwich which was only $12 on a Wednesday special. Didn't feel like cooking so we ordered Boni's online for pick up. We did the family meal and added a side of ribs. We had corn, greens, a sweet potato, pulled pork, chicken, and the toast. Everything was ready within the timeframe that was estimated on the confirmation email. The chicken was a bit dry, but we enjoyed everything else. We haven't been to Bono's in quite some time. I had a voucher for a free sandwich and side for donating blood (a couple of weeks ago) and it was storming outside - so we decided it was as good a time as any to use it. We started with some fried squash which was good but I prefer my squash to be cut thinner - it's a personal preference but they were good nonetheless. I ordered the brisket sandwich - half and half fatty/lean - and was pleasantly surprised. Nice smoky flavor, tender, juicy, and a substantial portion. The fries were fresh as well and felt they were better than the other bbq chain nearby. A table tent advertised a freebie when downloading their app so I obliged to get a serving of banana pudding - which we took to go. This location supports our local community which is evident with all the team banners throughout. They not only have some schools displayed but also some little league stuff too. Service was fast and friendly from the manager - according to the receipt. Arriving in that last 45 minutes of before closing, I had mediocre expectations but can honestly say I left quite satisfied with the entire experience. read more

I haven't had Bono's in a long time. So figured I would give it a try again. How you order has changed since the last time I went. You now order at the bar and then go sit down vs sitting and a waiter coming to take your order. Totally fine with that, service was good. We got our food quickly and everything looked and tasted good. An employee would swing by ever once and awhile to check if we needed anything. I got the pulled pork with fries and green beans. Visited this location after some time away, and was impressed on our recent visit. Previous visits had made us choose Sonny's over Bono's, but on our most recent trip, we enjoyed our meals and the service was very good. For our appetizer we ordered the fried squash, served with ranch dressing and they were tasty, crispy and piping hot! One of our favorite apps! I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and it was awesome, a very large piece of chicken that was prepared well and flavorful and juicy. The bun was soft and fresh and the fries were cooked very well and crispy! After this most recent visit the food was better than Sonny's. On the inside you can tell that they support local athletic teams, with lace multiple banners hanging throughout. I'm always in favor of local establishments that connect with their community! I normally go the Bono's on San Jose. I wasn't close to that location so I tried this one. They were slow, so I figured food won't take long. I ordered 10 smoked wings to go. I watched one of the kitchen guys at the fryer, didn't think anything about it. My wings came up and I left with my order. It was only smoked wings, no one can mess that up. Used to love these guys more. We had a couple of servers who knew us and provided great service. Always happy with the sandwich choices, or a low-carb meat option for me. Not much for beer, but that's not something I'm looking for when I'm fad-diet keto meating anyways. The wife loves the Cheese Fries w pork on top. What a mess. Their brisket is always great. Pulled pork, too. Quarter chicken. Smoked/grilled wings. And even smoked turkey - if you're OK with the loaf-style slices. Great sides. Baked beans, greens, sweet potato. Kids like the fried corn on the cob. Pretty consistent from shop to shop. There's a few around town where I'll drop in for lunch and get something the way I like. But my complaint now. We used to love the service before they turned it into an order-up-front fast food style joint. Now a round of refills for the kids drinks is a monumental chore. And you're tipping ahead of time for service you probably won't really get. I really can't stand places like that. Maybe blame COVID and the labor shortage. But it ruined one of our easy weekly regular dinners. We've mostly abandoned the place, unless we're really in the mood for their BBQ. Then we do carry out and avoid most of the service issues entirely. I got the Pulled Pork Platter with sweet potato fries and mac and cheese. The fries were the tastiest part; the mac and cheese was bland nothing special. This review is based on today's visit. We have been here in the past where the meat was dry. We got seated immediately and my husband was happy that he got to watch the JAGS game. Our server was pretty good as she checked on us several times. We ended up ordering the Chicken Feast which came with whole chicken, 3 full size of sides, 6 garlic bread. It fed a family of 3 with us taking home half of our sides home. For $24.99 I would say this is a pretty good deal! read more

I'm really surprised that people would give this location bad reviews. I think people confuse this location with the Bartram Park location which does have pretty bad service. The pulled pork is by far the most moist and seriously amazing. I'm not a HUGE bbq fan... being from Kansas City you would think I would be all about it, but after moving to Florida I just couldn't find anything that would stack up! We moved to the Durbin area and visited Bono's and I literally fell in love. It's really THAT good. Also raised as a vegan (not my choice) eating meat can be hard for me if it's not prepared perfect and Bono's does an amazing job! Wait staff is great too! Never again! I went to this Bono's 15 years ago and said never again. I had a friend from out of town for lunch today and decided to give it a try again. I know what I ordered, but, was brought something entirely different. I pointed this out but was told by waitress she couldn't take it back because it was what I ordered. I know that this was not what I ordered because it is something I wouldn't eat. She did offer to bring what I had ordered, but, I wasn't about to sit there waiting for this to show up while the rest of my food sat there getting cold. When it came time to pay the bill I asked her why it was still on the bill and she said because I had ordered it. Then there was a short back and forth. I finally said whatever, but, she came back with the change and said she had taken it off. Long story short, this time, I will NEVER be back for sure! read more

So we went inside to order and when the food came up and we were given the bill, they rang up for large platters instead of small and didn't want to fix the bill because "They gave us large". I've been coming to this Bono's since high school. It might be chain BBQ, but it's SO FLIPPINNNN DELISHHH! The best corn nugs come from Bono's as well as the ranch. Literally. Best ranch ever. Pulled pork salad with ranch and every BBQ sauce on top is my jam. I also love their growing support for the local high school, Bartram Trail, and a large assortment of colleges as well! read more

Good stuff! We moved here to Jacksonville Fl and have been three times in three weeks! I love BBQ and this place has been consistent in service and quality. You can even watch the "Pit Boss" pull your food out of the wall smoker and chop it up right there behind the counter. There is always room for my wife and I with out 4 kids and this place is kid friendly I don't know who put on here it's not. This is for sure going to be a regular spot for us. read more
