I was looking for a sushi place nearby and I saw this place and decided to give it a shot. The place was pretty empty and the food was delicious! They also have deals for everyday of the week. The day we went on, they had an offer of a free appetizer if 2 sushi rolls were ordered and I thought that was a great deal! All the rolls were delicious and the tuna appetizer was the best of all! It was very filling! Regarding the service, We had specifically asked for no cream cheese in one of the rolls and it came with cream cheese. But once I told them, they changed the roll and got us a new one without cream cheese so there was no problem there. But after that exchange occurred, our waiter wasn't very friendly anymore and he was on his phone a lot so it was a little hard to get a hold of him despite the place being empty. Kamiko is a small intimate sushi restaurant that has a lot to offer. You can get a fusion of Japanese, Peruvian, and even Venezuelan dishes. I really liked that they offered different kind of rolls from the classics with rice, rice less, soy bean paper and so much more! I will 100% be coming back to try other things on the menu and I am sure I won't be disappointed. The food is good but a overpriced. I payed 80$ for 3 rolls with tax and tip included (Tsunami, Geisha and Leila). I ordered for pick up and wasn't even greeted when I arrived at the restaurant. Inside the restaurant there was a group of 8 people eating and no music playing. I could hear their whole conversation. They do not include spicy mayo and eel sauce like other sushi places. It was a big bummer for me because I like to dip all my rolls on some eel sauce. It should be mentioned somewhere or at least be offered when picking up the food. The avocado on some of my rolls was not fresh and was mostly black. I would go back but not anytime soon. read more

This is my absolute favorite sushi spot in doral! Wether I go dine in or do take out or Uber eats this place simply always delivers the best high quality sushi in doral! The crunchy crab delight is a must have appetizer! My fav roll is the crossfire roll which contains Krab salad, krab tempura, avocado, scallions, cream cheese, spicy mayo, tobiko and eel sauce. The waitress offered me Otoro tuna which I had to try... that was delicious. Served also with a special soy sauce on the side. Also recommended by her was a special roll for Halloween made with black rice and salmon.... Not good! Just ok. From the regular menu I ordered the ell roll and a roll which I forget the name but was very good. It had cooked salmon, crab, shrimp tempura and a crunch on the outside also. Very nice. Decided to be adventurous and head out towards the Doral area for lunch (far from me). Kamiko was low-key and we were super excited to get some sushi. All the plates coming out and going to tables looked great, everyone looked happy, and the staff was friendly. The couple next to us had a really yummy looking roll and were kind enough to tell us what it was when we inquired about it. It was the Mango Crunch and it did not disappoint. Inside is crab, tempura shrimp, cream cheese, avocado, mango, and salmon, fried to a golden brown; this roll is huge and you can definitely split between two people. We also split two other rolls, the bagel and spicy tuna. Both were great as well and we probably ordered too much but it was worth the big tummy. read more

After many raves from my hubby and friends about how "OMG awesome...!" this place is, I decided to find out what the sushi-mania was all about. Unapologetically and as much as I tried, I didn't get the hype. Place - It's small and the blaring music makes it hard to have any type of conversation without having the table next to you listening in. The deal breaker for me - Dogs are allowed inside this restaurant that's already too overcrowded with tables in its restricted space. A couple next to us had their dog with them; and when it barked, the owner took it out of its baby, not dog, deluxe stroller and the dog placed its paws on top of the table - where eventually, other patrons would have dinner. Unsanitary...? - to the yuck level..! Service - Welcoming but not overly friendly. Our server, Alejandro, was inattentive and we had to flag him down numerous times for things we wanted/needed. At this point, the place was striking 2 outta 2. Ordered - *Copperfield ($17) - It had shrimp tempura with crab salad, cream cheese, avocado, almonds, honey, scallions and miso sauce....it sounded delicious enough to try...! Only to be disappointed by the mounds of raw almonds on top of this roll that for the price they should have at least roasted them. The roll itself didn't have much shrimp or crab salad but it did have a lot of fillers of cream cheese and avocado; and even with all that, it was unsavory at best. It reminded me of a supermarket California roll; and for the price tag, it was definitely an "ouch" choice. *Truffle Raw Crunch ($20) - This roll came highly recommended as a "must try if nothing else...!" - The combination of shrimp tempura, salmon and tuna gave this roll an exotic savory taste. The tempura flakes and truffle aioli complemented this roll; but all of it combined, failed to provide any type of heightened appeal to my palate. They did, like the almonds, put a massive amount of flakes that diluted and cheapened the taste of the roll. * Special Roll ($20) - Hubby tried this one; and unfortunately, didn't share but he claimed like Pooh to his honey that it was delicious...! For me, it looked like an overpriced Rainbow Roll. People that I have talked to have claimed that all these rolls are and I quote - "HUGE...!" but I didn't find the claim to be true. More like - they cut these rolls in a thinner scale than at other sushi restaurants and they spread them apart in these long plates for them to visually look big; but in reality, they are smaller than most sushi rolls I've tried at other places and these carry a higher price tag and not worth the expense. After a $120 bill (gratuity is already forced on you), I should think twice about believing someone else's hype....! No Bon Appétit for me with this one...! read more

Kamiko is the only good thing that came out of dating the douchebag that introduced me to this place. I've only recently been back and it was just as amazing as the first time, sans the crappy company. What initially brought us to this place and what I came back to finally try was the Causa Acevichada. If you follow foodies on Instagram, you have likely seen this masterpiece making the rounds on social media. Unfortunately, because of its popularity, the two times I've been here, they've been fresh out of it. So if you go, have one for me. Our Plan B of appetizers was the tuna and ceviche taquitos which were quite tasty. I think the tuna were my favorite though. Next up, we had the Noe Roll and the Catalina Roll. Wow, that Noe Roll was delicious. And I don't know if it's the presentation but these rolls looked huge! The Noe Roll was a manageable size. The Catalina Roll was a bit bigger so it was a little harder to get in one bite. The Catalina Roll was delicious too, but it felt like dessert for me. I guess that's because it has honey. I would order both rolls again in a heartbeat. Everything we had here tasted fresh and although a bit pricier than other sushi spots, the freshness and portions were well worth it. Finally, we ordered dessert because we were feeling gluttonous. The server recommended the Marquesas which the only way I can describe it is like the Venezuelan version of tiramisu. It has nutella. It has mousse. It has cookies. Boy, was it good! Glad he turned us on to it. Great service, great food. Probably hell to park during lunch hour but not bad at all for dinner. Wow! Everything about this place is wow. When I walked in and there was a 15 minute wait on a Friday at 2 pm, I started salivating. This was going to be good. Sensory overload. Forgive me I'm jumping all over the place - yes. Service: 5 stars. I sat at the bar and the girl who served me was attentive and quick. When I had a question someone else jumped in to help: it was about the tirados- which I will definitely try next time. Food: i had the tuna tartar which was stupid - huge, and the best I've had. That's a big statement to make. But true. It was ground with bits of crunch and chunks of avocado squared into a big yummy tower. I then had one of the lunch specials and they accommodated my request for a salmon roll. The fish was sashimi grade and fat and fresh. I then had a piece of wahu nigiri. Outstanding. I will definitely be going back so I can split the rolls with someone and try more. Everything is conceptual and exciting. Dull is a word that can never be used to describe anything there. Located in an unassuming strip mall deep in the logistical warehouse district (Tile Mile), the first step in and you know you are in for a treat. The service was excellent, even with a full house. We were charmed and advised of the most popular choices on the menu. About those choices!!! The menu does not do the dishes justice. The plate presentation was better then most restaurants in Lincoln Road or Las Olas. The menu is Japanese Peruvian, or better said as Japanese influenced Peruvian. There are 7 Ceviche plates. I choose the Mango Ceviche, with diced white fish, mango, onions, cherry tomatoes, yellow peppers and a wee bit too much yuzu sauce. It came in a generous without being ridiculous size martini glass. Appetizer was Crunchy Crab Delight - a blend of Kanikama, tempura flakes, tobiko, scallions and a drizzle of spicy mayo and eel sauce. Soft and crunchy, cool and spicy. There are also 6 different Tiraditos dish with the Octopus plate, my choice. This is one of the more expensive plate on the menu at $18 but Wow! Just Wow! Worthy and unlike anything I have ever tried. Perfectly cooked and thinly sliced octopus laid out in grand style drizzled with a kalamata olive sauce that is subtle and yet pronounced. Also with a little bit of lemon, chives and sea salt. Well - I'm not usually a desert person but every now on then a little sweetness on the tongue is desired at the end of a fine meal. Upon the servers suggestion "Surprise me" we received beautiful plate of hot fudge and vanilla ice cream. That statement does not do justice to the yin-yang balance of hot and cold, rich and sweet, light and dark contrast. Sublime! This here is a winner! :D read more

The spicy seasoning of the tuna with the crunchy shell and the guacamole is a winning combo. The TRUFFLE RAW - I cannot describe how this tastes but a friend describes it as an "orgasmic explosion of flavor". Honestly one of the best sushi I've had ever. The Tsunami Roll Is to die for as well. A little spicy with just the right amount salty and sweet, and a lot of crunch from the topping - another must try What I like about these sushi (besides the crazy and strong flavors) is that the rolls are huge with a very thin rice layer, which maximizes the filling space and hence the flavor. I was not impressed at all and it is very expensive. The Kamiko Ceviche is a mix of a bunch of things, but more onion and veggies than anything else. I think it was corvina, octopus, crab and a buttload of veggies. The bagel roll was terrible, the salmon piece was so so big in contrast to the very thin layer of rice on the outside making it feel like a big lump of gummy, very difficult to chew. We were taking a client out to lunch, when she told us about this little place somewhere in Doral that had wonderful sushi, so we decided to go. It is located in a strip mall and it has a lot of other restaurants competing for attention. Once we walked in, the decor was very nice, it had a decent amount of tables and it looked promising. Our waiter looked more like part owner, and if he wasn't then he certainly took care of business as it was his own. The menu offers quite the variety of dishes, we started of with some steamed shrimp Siu Mai, along with a few pieces of White and regular Tuna. The fish was as fresh as can be, and the Siu Mai was also good. Then we ordered a few sushi rolls, but wait, these were not your ordinary California rolls, no no no, they do offer those, but they have a whole list of "fancy rolls". We tried one that had tempura flakes and aji amarillo aioli, which was superb, and we also tried the Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll, awesome as well. Even the coffee was spot on. The restaurant looked clean and dark inside with a tv playing a soccer game which the staff looked at more attentively than the diners. The menu has a pretty large selection so I was glad to see they had a lunch menu with some specials. I decided to go for the bagel and spicy tuna rolls deal. It came with a soup or a salad. I went with the miso soup it tasted like you would expect. The sushi is was covered in sesame seeds for just for looks because it added nothing to it. I think the rice was undercooked because there were a lot of hard grains which got stuck in my throat. The spicy tuna also had a distinct consistency to it but it tasted fin Our waiter was nice but was very slow at first. I made it through most of my meal without water which was tough with the texture of the rice.
