Great ambiance high ceiling nice decore. Kind greetings from the host/server. Food is a fusion of Thai food and Japanese. I like their tasteful pad Thai. Hamachi was nice and fresh.

Honestly the food was good and everything was delicious and at a great price. The service was great too. The lady was busy but attentive as much as she could. The ambiance was nice a lot of families together.

An outstanding sushi experience from start to finish. The fish was incredibly fresh, each roll beautifully presented, and the flavors perfectly balanced. The atmosphere was welcoming and stylish, and the staff was attentive without being intrusive. Easily one of the best sushi spots I've visited--love coming here! highly recommended.

After a long bicycle ride (well, long for my 9 & 10-year-olds) in the Everglades National Park at Shark Valley, we took a lunch break at Bonsai 8th Street in Miami, FL. On June 7, 2024, we were immediately greeted and seated at a table of our liking. The break from the sweltering heat was greatly appreciated. All of the staff members were extremely friendly and quick to serve us. We enjoyed all of the following: Spring Rolls ($6) Wonton Soup ($7) Miso Soup ($4) Tom Khan Soup + shrimp ($9) Fancy Dragon Roll ($22) I loved the pink light-up sign behind the bar. Parking was easy and free in a shared plaza lot. The only thing I would change is the lighting in the women's restroom. It was very dim. I highly recommend for a quick, casual Thai/Japanese lunch.

A fine establishment! Ordered the red curry and pad see ew for takeout. I would say noodles were average but the red curry was quite yummy!

Doesn't look like much from outside but once you walk in it's a pretty big location. Lots of seating available and a nice bar. At the entrance you have the hostess who helps you with seating. The one that attended us was named Lucia and she was so lovely. Very friendly and super accommodating to what we wanted. Once we were sat, our waitress was named Emily and she is the best! Was super attentive, helped us understand the menu better and even gave us some recommendations which turned out to be amazing! Bonsai I applaud you for the phenomenal workers you have on your team! Then came the food and it was great!! I ordered Pad Thai, which Emily made sure to let me know that it is not your typical noodles because it is actually sweet tasting due to the sauce, and I could not have love it more. If you want a twist to your usual noodles I highly recommend this plate! Before the main plate, we got the Avocoado salad which comes with shredded crab, carrot, and lettuce mixed in and it was so so good. The shrimp was delicious along with the Gyozas. Great food and even better service! You need to give this place a try.

I've been coming to this cute little sushi spot for many years, & I have never walked out unsatisfied. The sushi is always incredibly fresh & seemingly made with love. The service is outstanding, made up of staff who care about your experience dining with them. I don't know how this spot is not packed every day.

Great place!!!! First time there and definitely not my last visit. The service staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us plenty of time to review the menu and make a great choice. The special fried rice was delicious, very filling and huge order. My second choice was the spicy tuna roll. Fresh tasty and super light for a roll. Good spot!

I visited Bonsai with a friend before we drove back to the Keys last night and what can I say: What a great experience it was. The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The young server who had my table a waiter in training, and he still managed to make the experience unforgettable. Lucy, the waitress training him was also extremely agreeable. Very professional and amiable staff. If that wasn't enough, the food was just as good. I had the Tiger Tear appetizer, a Rainbow Roll and a Sashimi Mori. I What made the night for me was the fact that I ordered a Green Tea Shot that had lime. This drink was super citrusy and delicious. Highly recommended. Lucy and her coworker even let me have two on the house. I will be coming back whenever I am in the area. Thank you, all!

We found this place after we left a show in Doral. We came in as we wanted some Thai and yelped the place. We were a little skeptical as we drove through some boondocks! Finally arrived at the restaurant. Ambience was spacious. We were seated and greeted promptly. We ordered our food and made some changes as we wanted grilled rather than fried fish. Server was fine in accommodating our change. No big deal. Then food came out. Firstly, the portions were huge! Food came out fresh and promptly. Taste was great. The garlic sauce could have been more garlicky ( we love garlic, not vampires ) Curry was delighted! FOOD WAS GREAT BUT SERVICE IS EPIC!!! I believe, Lana the server's name on check took care of us. We were treated like ROYALTY! She was kind, attentive and first class hospitality. LOVE the LOVE!!! THANK YOU!!! This was a great night!

Parking is mostly limited street parking though, so plan ahead. This spot is more about curated tastings, sashimi, nigiri, and handrolls rather than specialty rolls, so don't expect a huge roll menu. We ordered the sashimi assortment, white fish tasting, seared salmon, bluefin tuna tasting, unagi foie gras, and a few handrolls including blue crab and negi toro. Everything tasted super fresh and flavorful, especially the bluefin and unagi foie gras. Portions are on the lighter side though, so we left satisfied but not totally full. Cedrick was awesome and really made the experience better. He knew the menu inside and out and explained everything perfectly. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Wynwood and want quality sushi without the overly trendy vibe.

All the food was rich and fresh, such classical cuts of fish and the quality is the main objective. Truly loved everything we got. Very alive and upbeat indoors and outdoors, outside might be a tab bit chiller and calmer. Service was amazing, our server made sure to describe everything well and pair wine with it. However, if your most expensive sushi roll is $29, and it's the only roll that comes with 5 pieces instead of 10 pieces, there should most definitely be a mention of that on the menu. While our other friends who ordered literally any other roll got a full size portion, it came as a shock to the table when those who ordered the truffle Maki roll received 5, small pieces. The spicy edamame was pretty good. The sauce wasn't just spicy, but tasty. The miso soup was good as well. For drinks, the espresso martini wasn't out of this world, it just tasted like every other espresso martini you'd get at any bar. Our waiter was pretty good considering we had a large party of 24 people. At first he seemed overwhelmed, but thankfully they were able to recognize that and gave him two extra hands to help with orders, drinks, and water refills. The restaurant aesthetic was cute and had a few nice backdrops for photos. However, good luck using the bathroom. The one women's toilet did not flush and was backed up completely with toilet paper. This forced us to use the one men's bathroom, which was also backed up, but not as bad as the women's. To wash your hands there was a small trickle of water. Seems like they have plumbing or pipe issues. Overall was decent, but I won't be back.

The interior is dim and clubby, and the seating was comfortable. Our server had someone from the Miami Beach location training with her, so we had some extra attention. We started with a round of cocktails and since this meal took place approximately a month ago, I can't remember what we ordered, but we were all pleased! Off the spice menu, we had both karagee starters (chicken and shrimp). Three of us had the hama kama for the main, and Larry had the pork belly. We also ordered 2 each of the desserts (fried milk sundae and matcha cake) The food was all very good. We took a pass on ordering sake due to the wild markup on their sake menu. When all was said and done, the bill came to $500 for four people with tax and tip and while the service was certainly friendly, it was not remotely professional. The food did not all come out at the same time. Larry had to wait until the rest of us were almost finished with the mains before his pork belly came to the table. The starters were also not brought out together (although there was a less of a wait for all of the plates to arrive). They also brought out the wrong desserts (3 of one kind instead of 2 and 2). Are these major dealbreakers? Of course not and I feel a little silly typing it out; however, eating at Uchi is not an everyday experience (for most of us!) and when spending this much, I don't think it's asking too much for the service to be on point. At least there wasn't the typical waitstaff beg for even more tip since they don't auto gratuity.
