    The bar

I want them to succeed! The food is amazing! The location is ideal. The restaurant is beautiful. But. The service is was lacking this past Sunday night. It wasn't packed yet they pretty much messed up everything. I know our server was trying, once I complained to him but unfortunately the damage was done. Apparently the owner was there but left when I asked to speak with him. What type of owner leaves when you see your servers struggling? Poor judgement. Those serving our party were very sweet and apologetic but again... it didn't take away from the issues we had. 1. They had an issue seating us at the table we required because of our party size. After much discussion we were finally seated comfortably. 2. It took over 20 minutes to have someone come and ask us if we wanted drinks or water. 3. 2 of the appetizers we ordered were not available (simple nigiri). 4. The wine we ordered was not the wine served. The bartender confessed to pouring it wrong. Also, the drinks took FOREVER to arrive each time. 5. We told them beforehand we were celebrating a birthday. They forgot. 6. It was very hot in the restaurant. It's the little things. They tried turning around our unpleasant experience by comping our dessert & wine. That was a very nice gesture but we had preferred a great dinner experience celebrating our son. Again, we want them to succeed! Love the food! Perhaps the owner will see this and take note.

    Tuna roll

Came in here for a quick bite to eat, reviews looked promising. I sat at the bar and ate a tuna roll. It was OK, I was definitely hoping for more. They make it with noodles instead of rice so it's a different texture. It was not spicy like I had hoped and rather underwhelming. The tuna didn't taste fishy, but it didn't taste not fishy. I didn't get sick from eating it so that's a plus. The roll was $20 so that was ridiculously expensive and in my opinion, not worth it , especially coming in for lunch she would think they have a lunch special.

Very disappointing experience. Ricardo gave terrible service from start to finish. We ordered sushi and had to ask multiple times for soy sauce because he kept forgetting, and when he finally brought it, he only brought one cup for two people. We also ordered noodles to share and received no serving utensils. On top of that, we ordered a Yaki Udon and he brought a Yakisoba instead, showing he clearly doesn't know the menu. What made the experience worse was that all the servers were bringing plates with their bare hands and without trays, which looked very unhygienic. I even saw Ricardo picking his nose during service. Definitely not acceptable.

We came to Deland to go shopping and we ended up having dinner here at udon restaurant. It was great about the restaurant was we were greeted right away. We came inside. The ambience is really pretty. It's quiet. There's a beautiful screen that wraps around the bar that is quite remarkable. We ended up ordering several drinks, including the Ramu punch and Nori No Tomi. Both drinks are presented incredibly well and our delicious. We also ordered the pork buns as an appetizer which my son ate and three seconds and the tuna roll, which was absolutely delicious the crispy noodles give it a great flavor. We also had the salmon roll, which was pretty good. The showstopper was the stake Yaki udon. The steak come served on top of the sautéed noodles over a thin scrambled egg, which was absolutely delicious. The Takatsu Ramen was really good as was the kimchi chicken udon. The flavor is incredibly different The presentation was really nice. The pad Thai with shrimp was really good. The only problem the portion size was a little small compared to other locations, but the flavor was really good. Overall, the visit was great. The owner stopped by our table and was very gracious. We couldn't eat another bite for dessert, but I will say the espresso martini was pretty good as well. We will definitely be coming back.

They have a massive jumbo screen. To watch any sports event. Which is really cool !! There drinks are tasty. And the food is awesome.

Ready to go back again and again! Went around 1:30 pm and luckily we did not have to wait for a table. Good menu options, the Marinated Chicken Black Truffle Udon with homemade Udon noodles was the best of the best! The bar area is very nice spacious and clean. Staff very accommodating.

The new Udon location just opened in Dadeland Mall, and it's exactly what this mall needed! The pork gyozas were chef's kiss--perfectly crispy and flavorful--and the ebi fry shrimp made for a great starter. The food was fresh, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting. I'll definitely be going back!

Food was great, sushi with noodles instead of rice was different but in a good way! Texture made it interesting and flavors were good. Drinks were on the sweeter side though

The service was great, the food came out SUPER quick and everything was made hot and fresh and we almost couldn't believe how quickly everything came out. Multiple servers would stop by our table to see if we needed anything and that was great. Service was a 10/10. The ambiance is very heavily Anime Themed (hence the name) so if you're into that kind of thing this place is like heaven for you. Overall had a great time, food was great, service was great. I really enjoy this restaurant and highly recommend it for what is the clear winner for best Ramen in the area.

Rating: 5.0 Been a…read morehuge fan of the Iron Chef show since I was a kid and my favorite has aways been the Japanese Chef Masaharu Morimoto! And since experiencing his Disney Springs restaurant Morimoto Asia, I had been looking forward for him to come to Miami. This was a couple of years back during the cooler season in Miami. RESTAURANT: I just know that this location is going to be beautiful. Chef Morimoto restaurants are worldwide and so I was not disappointed to see how beautiful this restaurant was and how perfectly complemented the vibe of the Wynwood scene. The restaurant doors open to the street, which was perfect during our winter visit. Inside is an open floor plan with a variety of seating options from the izakaya style table, banquet dining against the wall, to the huge bar. There are even covered seating outside that reminded me of New York. Decor is both minimal but with burst of colors with his signature wall art and backlit panels against the wall. And ofcourse, it won't be an authentic Japanese restaurant without the a display of hyper-realistic food models which can be found as soon as you enter the restaurant to entice your taste buds. Everything just looked sleaked and clean and love the pop of green from the huge fig trees. SERVICE: Service was amazing. From the moment we entered, we were greeted and seated right away for our reservation. Our server answered all of our questions and suggested some fruity cocktails. And lo and behold, owner Chef Morimoto himself presented us with our food and torched it right infront of us! He was so polite and humble and wonderful. We watched him moved from one side of the restaurant to the other with the endurance of a guy in his 20s and he's like 60 something! He did not stop. It was such a treat to have him in our table and how he indulged us when we chanted "Iron Chef! Iron Chef!". It was an amazing experience. FOOD: The menu have the right amount of options, from finger food to ramen, sushi and not to mention the drinks. For starters, pork belly and soft shell crab bao and bbq ribs. Deliciousness! The buns warm and pillowy. The pork, so tender. But that soft shell crab...that made me want to slap someone it was so good. Flavorful, no fishiness whatsoever, crunch on the outside and just happiness on the inside. I will eat a million of these. Then my friend ordered some Yakitori fresh from the grill: chicken, pork belly, shrimp, wagyu. They were simple, fresh and so fingerlicking good. Then the ramen; tonkotsu and gyukotsu. On this cold evening, it was exactly what we needed. These two huge bowls we passed around our table of six. The broth were divine! The pork belly was so delicate that it melts in your mouth. The beef falling off the bones were so tender and delicious. Sushi rolls: spider roll and the surf and turf. The spider roll with that soft shell crab was bomb. But the that A5 wagyu surf and turf was the star of the show. It comes out as raw slices on a roll and Chef Morimoto came out and torched it himself next to our table! I don't know if it tasted spectacular because it's wagyu or because the chef himself had torched it but this was my favorite! Overall, this was the most memorable dining experience I've had in a long time. I am sure that fangirling over the Iron Chef was the main reason but it seems that everything just fell into place for us that evening. Parking was literally next door in the garage, super easy no drama. Service was next level, maybe because the boss was there but we were not going to complain. And the food, impeccable! Pricepoint is just reasonable considering the quality, quantity and the location. It is definitely worth the trip coming here and I can't wait to visit again soon to see if everything will be the same without the Chef Morimoto around. I have a feeling it will be just as wonderful.

A month ago I wanted to go again and remembered that there was more than one location. Came to find out one closer to me situated across FIU on 107th ave. All of the sudden the 107 in the name made sense. I asked if that location was the 'OG', and they confirmed it was and hence the seemingly random name. Service was good. There's a mix of regular folks and students (both servers and dining), which ensures pricing remains reasonable in order to cater to student budgets. I found pricing to be the same at both locations. I ordered the same Mama Pork Fried rice with an extra of shrimp, and I have to say, it was just as delicious as the Gables restaurant. I went again just yesterday, and food was just as delicious. I can't bring myself to order any other dish because it's so delicious. Dish flavor, look and texture are consistent too, not just within the same restaurant, but at least across those two locations I've visited, and I've attended twice to both locations ordering the same fried rice - it is always 'identically delicious'. I tried my friend's dishes, and they were all good, and while they wouldn't be my choice, they were all yummy. Their dishes tend to be a bit on the gooey side, but I love that, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I found my new favorite Chinese restaurant. The ambience is basic, but definitely a more elevated look than that of your typical Chinese restaurant. I highly recommend

I'll start with a positive: I actually really liked the anime-themed decor. It's unique, fun, and definitely adds personality to the space. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The customer service wasn't great. It felt inattentive and unwelcoming, which immediately set the tone for the meal. We ordered two servings of crab rangoon, and I was honestly shocked at both the price and the quality. To put it simply it was the worst crab rangoon I've ever had. They tasted like they were deep-fried in old oil, with that heavy, stale aftertaste. They didn't seem fresh at all more like something pulled from a freezer and quickly dropped into the fryer. When I opened them up, there was barely any filling besides cream cheese. I couldn't find any actual crab inside, which was really disappointing, especially considering how much they charged for them. I was genuinely sad about how much money we spent on those two orders, only to be completely let down. I love supporting unique, themed spots and the anime vibe really had potential but unfortunately, the food quality and service just didn't meet expectations. I hope they improve because the concept itself is cute.
