Had to stop and check out the game and the TV screen was ridiculous! The biggest I've see in any restaurant. We were hooked We sat down and ordered drinks and some edamame. Thw drinks were heavily poured and appreciated and the edamame was the perfect compliment. The staff were super friendly and quick. Came for a quick dinner. We had: Mixed izakaya - the pork gyozas and the octopus balls were good but we could have skipped the chicken. Truffle udon with chicken - really good! Get it! Tonkatsu ramen - eh. Our waiter Johannes was great when you had his attention but we felt forgotten. We had to wait a while to get a to go box and the check. However, I work at the mall and know that each restaurant has its own air conditioning system, so that explanation didn't seem accurate. Came in here for a quick bite to eat, reviews looked promising. I sat at the bar and ate a tuna roll. It was OK, I was definitely hoping for more. They make it with noodles instead of rice so it's a different texture. It was not spicy like I had hoped and rather underwhelming. The tuna didn't taste fishy, but it didn't taste not fishy. I didn't get sick from eating it so that's a plus. I had an incredible experience at the new UDON restaurant at Dadeland and I am thrilled to have it in my neighborhood!! The restaurant was beautifully decorated and our service was excellent. Our drinks and food came out quite quickly! I ordered a Lychee Moscow Mule, which was very refreshing and delicious!!! I loved it so much and it also came in a very cute cup! For my meal I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen and I really enjoyed it! The pork was very good and the broth was so flavorful and delicious! Great Experience! I want them to succeed! The food is amazing! The location is ideal. The restaurant is beautiful. But. The service is was lacking this past Sunday night. It wasn't packed yet they pretty much messed up everything. I know our server was trying, once I complained to him but unfortunately the damage was done. Apparently the owner was there but left when I asked to speak with him. What type of owner leaves when you see your servers struggling? Poor judgement. Those serving our party were very sweet and apologetic but again... it didn't take away from the issues we had. 1. They had an issue seating us at the table we required because of our party size. After much discussion we were finally seated comfortably. 2. It took over 20 minutes to have someone come and ask us if we wanted drinks or water. 3. 2 of the appetizers we ordered were not available (simple nigiri). 4. The wine we ordered was not the wine served. The bartender confessed to pouring it wrong. Also, the drinks took FOREVER to arrive each time. 5. We told them beforehand we were celebrating a birthday. They forgot. 6. It was very hot in the restaurant. It's the little things. They tried turning around our unpleasant experience by comping our dessert & wine. That was a very nice gesture but we had preferred a great dinner experience celebrating our son. Again, we want them to succeed! Love the food! We came to Deland to go shopping and we ended up having dinner here at udon restaurant. It was great about the restaurant was we were greeted right away. We came inside. The ambience is really pretty. It's quiet. There's a beautiful screen that wraps around the bar that is quite remarkable. We ended up ordering several drinks, including the Ramu punch and Nori No Tomi. Both drinks are presented incredibly well and our delicious. We also ordered the pork buns as an appetizer which my son ate and three seconds and the tuna roll, which was absolutely delicious the crispy noodles give it a great flavor. We also had the salmon roll, which was pretty good. The showstopper was the stake Yaki udon. The steak come served on top of the sautéed noodles over a thin scrambled egg, which was absolutely delicious. The Takatsu Ramen was really good as was the kimchi chicken udon. The flavor is incredibly different The presentation was really nice. The pad Thai with shrimp was really good. The only problem the portion size was a little small compared to other locations, but the flavor was really good. Overall, the visit was great. The owner stopped by our table and was very gracious. We couldn't eat another bite for dessert, but I will say the espresso martini was pretty good as well. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Very disappointing experience. Ricardo gave terrible service from start to finish. We ordered sushi and had to ask multiple times for soy sauce because he kept forgetting, and when he finally brought it, he only brought one cup for two people. We also ordered noodles to share and received no serving utensils. On top of that, we ordered a Yaki Udon and he brought a Yakisoba instead, showing he clearly doesn't know the menu. What made the experience worse was that all the servers were bringing plates with their bare hands and without trays, which looked very unhygienic. I even saw Ricardo picking his nose during service. I was so excited that they opened the 2nd location here in Dadeland, their first location in Wynwood I was so impressed. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, but the service and the food were FAR from expectation. When we went to the restaurant, there was only couple of tables, NOT busy at all. It literary took the server good 20 min to bring us water, and on the other table, they literally finally brought water to them AFTER the food was served. On to the food, I ordered my favorite item on the menu, the truffle udon, it was so good at the Wynwood location, but at this one, it WAS SO OFF. It's not like it taste bad, it just was not the same expectation and experience I had. Not sure this is from the lack of training from the management to deliver the same food quality but this wasn't it I probably would not go back to the Dadeland location again read more

I remember trying UDON in Wynwood and was so excited to see one in Dadeland Mall after getting a few tasks done around the mall. What an amazing way to treat myself to a delicious meal. Always love the truffle udon noodle dish. The drinks are very creative, delicious, and creative with the decor and designs. I also really appreciate the cleanliness of the restrooms, probably some of the nicest I've seen in a long time in Miami to be honest! I just want to say that service and politeness is an intricate part of customer service. This review is direct and to the point because it deserves to be told. The ambience was so neutral that I felt that I was just there for a business transaction. Other people that were arriving before us got served faster than we ever did. I dont want to speculate, but in the mere fact that we were dismissed when we ordered our food by mocking us because we did not ordered vegetables let's me wonder in imagination. My partner has been looking to coming to this restaurant but after last night's episode were are not going back. Now to the food. The food I would categorize as mere good and for such a high scale presentation the taste and temperature was key which in one dish was not. Now back to service, once again no one returned for water refills or making sure that anything else was needed. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough that I feel the need to share it. My friend and I arrived at the restaurant around 3:00 PM on Saturday. We waited about 3-4 minutes at the entrance because there was no one at the front desk to greet or seat us. Eventually, we were seated without any explanation. Shortly after sitting down, a server brought us water and told us someone would be right over to take our order. Unfortunately, that never happened. We waited 20-25 minutes and no one came to take our order, despite multiple staff members walking around the dining area. During this time, we also witnessed a disturbing incident at another table where a guest crushed a wine glass with their bare hand, which added to the overall sense of chaos and poor management. When we finally flagged down a random server to ask why no one had taken our order, his response was shockingly rude. He said, "You have to let me know," in a dismissive tone, as if it were the customer's responsibility to chase down staff to receive basic service. At that point, we were fed up and decided to leave. For a newly opened restaurant, this level of disorganization and unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Poor communication, lack of accountability, and rude service completely ruined what could have been a promising first visit. Writing this review from inside the restaurant still because the service is so incredibly slow we haven't even gotten the check after waiting ages. The food is mid at best, lacking in flavor. The server at the bar would get 5 stars, unfortunately the manager will take the 1 star blame for this one. I ordered the tuna roll which comes with cream cheese and once I received the tuna roll it didn't have cream cheese. The server tried on more than once occasion to have the manager approve a new roll with actual cream cheese in it and the request was denied despite me expressing my un satisfaction. The food tastes really good but the content of the food isn't enough for what you're paying; why am I paying 23 dollars to only get half an egg and the food looks nothing like the picture? I might as well go to Z Ramen or Yume where its cheaper, tastes and looks better, and is better quality. The service was mid as well. After our waiter dropped off our food, he did not check on us until we were done with our food and we were looking for him cause it was a struggle trying to eat udon with thick chopsticks lol. I'm pretty sure they act like that because there's an automatic 18% service charge and tip, so bro is getting paid either way he acts. I also saw him chatting it up with every other server and saw a server digging his hand in a bowl of food and waving it in his coworker's face, which I could only hope the food was for employees only. Like, we spent 73 dollars on two ramens and one appetizer, NO DRINKS mind you. All in all, the food is good, but not 20 something good and the service was buns.
