The restaurant gave us BOTH mostly chicken to save on cost and there was barely any beef. See hubby's order and it is ALL chicken (WHICH SHOULDN'T EVEN BE IN THERE !) and just a couple of pieces of beef. In fact, when they brought it to the table, even the waitress thought it was chicken until the (manager?) pointed to some beef under the noodles. One: this should be on the menu as beef & chicken if they are going to do this. Two: this is deception. For this reason I took off a star from my last visit (which was 3 stars because their curry was like a soup instead of an entree - I didn't like it either.) The fried pork pot stickers ($9) were very good. Their chicken wings appetizer with Thai BBQ Sauce ($12) were very good. The Thai tea was good and served in a cute mug. We sat in a booth, which was nice. However, the table next to us had a huge hole in the seat of the material in that booth. My opinion is that the owner does not put effort into the food or the restaurant trying to save money. In my opinion, they are participating in deceptive practices by the substitution of chicken for beef dishes due to cost (see photos for evidence). The waitress was nice. Pippin' 4 lunch, is what I thought as I walked in the door on a weekday. Bonsai just one exit south of CLT is a neighborhood gem. Simple decor, plenty of seating and tasty food. I took off one star because Pad Gra Prow is usually a minced meat dish and it was served with chicken slices. Just changes the texture. I also thought the summer rolls were a little heavy on mint flavor (typically milder). Overall the dishes were tasty and I would love to return. read more

If I can give a 10 star review I would me and my girlfriend have been coming here for the past two years and it has become one of our favorite places to go together our waitresses Aoy,Alyna and the rest of the staff always give us such a warm welcome and a thanks for coming back. I came on a Saturday and place was not busy, but unfortunately, had only one chef, so it was a bit of a wait but again, food made up for it. The drunken noodles were cooked to perfection! Didn't have expectations for any authentic ghai flavors in clt but it turned out alright. The drunken noodle Was pretty good but the beef is very chewy and stale tasting. We decided on the veggie fried spring rolls as an appetizer. They came out quickly and super crispy and the sauce that accompanied them was good! We ordered the pineapple friend rice with shrimp as well as the shrimp with cashews. They rate their spiciness on a 1-10 scale. We went with a 5. Our food was fresh and so delicious. Just the perfect amount of spice as well. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. She checked on us frequently and saw our half empty drinks and came back with refills before we even had to ask. All their entrees come with a side of eggroll, soup or salad and portion size is generous. Vegetables pad lad na comes with Chinese broccoli, carrots, green beans, zucchini, Napa cabbage and mushroom served with their gravy sauce. Flavor was amazing but a little too much sauce. The chicken pad kra prow has a similar taste profile but unique in its own. I preferred the ground chicken instead of the strips they used here. Red curry is spicy. If you like spice then this is for you. Pineapple fried rice may not be for everyone if you are the same type of person who doesn't like pineapple on pizza lol. I personally loved it; just wished it had more pineapple. And lastly, the crispy noodles. This isn't a dish you'll want to take to-go. The noodles have to be eaten there otherwise it'll be soggy. But it's so yummy and I think it's served with the same gravy sauce. If they can put the sauce on the side for to-go then sogginess wouldn't be an issue. Overall the food is good! Only improvement would be service time. Last few times, they weren't busy but each time it took over 40 minutes to get our food. Well, I liked how there were plenty of juicy Shrimp in this dish, and a good mix of veggies, but the flavor of the dish was too heavy on Soy Sauce...not much in terms of having the typically amazing Thai flavors. With Cashew Nuts in the mix, I expected it to taste WAY better. Sadly, it was barely good. I seriously regretted not ordering the Salmon dish. Even the Spring Roll was sub par...as it was way too saturated with oil. On my very first time here, I thought the foods were really good, but on every visit after that, the foods have not been that great. Just barely good. Service was OK, though a bit absent. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the service staff acted so busy and preoccupied...maybe just eager to quickly close up shop? The best thing about this restaurant is that the pricing is quite friendly. Unlike other restaurants that have jacked up the prices since Covid, this place is still relatively cheap. Plus, this place is conveniently located next to one of my fave, new tea (and dessert) joints. For these reasons, I may return regardless (of my disappointments!). read more

Came around 5pm on a Thursday and had the place to ourselves for a good bit of the visit but there was steady business for to go orders. It picked up around 6. Our waitress and rest of the staff was friendly and present. We started with pork potstickers and bonzai wings. The dumplings were fried 3.5/5 nothing special but they were fresh. Wings were huge but flavor and hot, I'd prefer smaller wings 4/5. Also had the pineapple sake 3.5/5 sweeter than I expected but I enjoyed it. For entrees we had the volcano salmon 5/5 and pad see ew 4/5 both spice level of 3. I wouldn't go higher than 4. The 3 was plenty heat but not too much to compromise the enjoyment of the meal. I just ordered the pad thai and added beef, but WHEW! This is some delicious pad Thai. I was definitely pleasantly surprised. It was so hard not to eat it in the car on the way home, but I managed to wait. When I got home to eat it I was just so happy at how good it was! It made me wish I'd ordered more food from them. Just okay. I'm not sure we had the best they could do so I might try them again. The the first issue was really the pick up process being much more complicated than it needed to be. It wasn't ready when they said (even though zero ppl were there) and you can't pay at the front. Then the POS went down, which happened, it the manager seemed to bail on the two other staff members as they were trying to fix it. The manager also never put her mask up to cover her face even as her staff and I all had them on. We both got noodle dishes which basically tasted the same, obviously a house sauce. It was on the sweet side but had good flavor. We also were not offered a spice level, which is fairly standard in authentic restaurants. The noodles in both of our dishes were totally over cooked and mushy. The veggies were cooked pretty well and so was the meat. The spring rolls were good but nothing super special. Overall this one is a toss up. I haven't found anything super authentic in the area so it's not a bad option. read more

October 2022. What's up instafam - we back at it again. Ugh this was actually so good. We went for dinner, I got the Pad See Ewe chicken and mom got a dish called "Ginger." The Pad See Ewe was bomb the noodles were very flavorful and the chicken was cooked well, good protein portion size and not dry. Mom's ginger dish good too - she choose tofu as her protein which was accompanied with onions, carrots, mushrooms, and some greens along with a bowl of white rice. I do wish the slices of ginger were cut slightly thinner or small, but nonetheless it was still extremely good. Both options are great. I've also been here for their Drunk Noodle (the one with basil.. Pad Kee Mao I believe) - I've gotten that 3 times already, so that's definitely a favorite. Pro Tip: ask for the spice tray/dry chili powder/or whatever chili you like. That way you can really manage how spicy you want your food Servers there are always extremely friendly and attentive. This is some of the best Thai food we have ever had. We were in the area and saw that this restaurant had pretty good ratings. We started with some egg drop soup. There was a choice of regular or large. The regular was a normal size bowl rather than some of those tiny bowls some places serve soup in. I could only imagine what their large is like. Let's just say it was plentiful and I could eat that soup everyday. It was that good! For a main entree, I had Pad Thai with chicken. You can choose on a spice scale from 1-10 with 10 being the hottest. I just wanted a little spice so a "3" was just right for me.The Pad Thai was pretty delicious. My little one had fried rice with chicken and that was just as good as my dish. She asked me which I liked best. It's a tough call. I would highly recommend both. Check this place out. i placed a call in order from the online menu options and picked it up for lunch. the front counter was an easy pick up for the order and while waiting i noticed that the restaurant does have a full bar. the restaurant smells incredible and made me want to come back to dine in. on the website other reviewers can leave recommendations on food theyve tried and when i saw the feedback from a reviewer named David, stating "their beef spicy basil fried rice is top tier, " I knew i wanted to give it a try. I must admit that was some tasty rice! Great recommendation, David. I enjoyed the basil flavor, the amount of rice, and the tender beef that came in the rice. The crab rangoons, on the other hand were terrible. They reminded me of potato salad mix before adding in the "good stuff." They were sweet and a mayo and custard consistency, with a bright yellow color and honestly just turned my appetite for these off. There also was not much crab meat stuffed in them. I love crab rangoons and even the ok ones are still pretty good, however, these were not able to be eaten. I would NOT get them again, but i was able to hand them off to a coworker that enjoyed them thoroughly. Im looking forward to trying other menu item when i return. The most Incredible Thai food in the steel Creek area! I've passed this place a million times. My neighbors were raving about this place so I decided to place a To-Go order. When I looked over the menu I noticed the "spicy" level option 1-10. I called around 5pm on a Thursday. My takeout order was ready within 20mins. I ordered the Spicy Basil Shrimp Fried Rice ( spice level 4) and Pork Spring Rolls for $19. My food was PIPING HOT!! No need to reheat. The spice level was perfect!!!! Just spicy enough. My Bride ordered the Pad Kra Prow with fresh basil sauteed with bell peppers, string beans, onions, carrots, celery and mushroom in the house stir-fry sauce. She prefers the rice noodles to rice and and adds chicken. They always accommodate her request and serve it perfect every time! I order the Volcano Salmon regularly . Fresh salmon filet is fried until golden topped with a sweet Thai chili tamarind sauce with basil leaves on a bed of mixed vegetables. I prefer the brown rice. And as always, happy to accommodate.
