    Fried A2. Spring Rolls

We love coming here and the food is always delicious! Although we have tried a variety of menu items the chicken pad Thai remains our favorite! If you are looking for an appetizer I suggest the spring rolls are great! And the sauce is soo good!! I wanted more spring rolls just so I could eat more of the sauce!

I was in the area on a work trip and stopped for a solo dinner date! Great place. The food was delicious and the service was so quick and friendly! Great casual spot.

I've been here multiple times and the food is consistently great! This past visit i tried the crab rangoon which was one of the best I've ever had! There were actual chunks of meat that I could see which is not always the case everywhere. I also got the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and it was delicious! I ordered a spice of 5 which was perfect for me but definitely on the spicy side.

I was in Charlotte for a night & in the mood for Thai. Fellow Yeppers, thanks for persuading me to give Bonzai a try! We kicked things off with some fried wings, and they were super fresh and piping hot--seriously, right out of the fryer! For my main dish, I went with the shrimp pineapple fried rice, while my husband chose the seafood pad Thai. Both dishes were fresh, flavorful and had a little bit of a kick (even at spice levels 2 & 3). Our waitress was super friendly and on top of things. The restaurant itself is small and cozy yet lively. If you're after some authentic Thai, this place is a must-visit!

Drunken noodles with chicken and pineapple rice with seafood

Finally an authentic Thai place in Charlotte. Not taking away from the other spots but this place food wise, beats them all. I came on a Saturday and place was not busy, but unfortunately, had only one chef, so it was a bit of a wait but again, food made up for it. The drunken noodles were cooked to perfection! You got the hint of the wine and brandy, with the sweetness of the sauce, and that bite of salt that real thai food has. Perfect spice and you can ask to go up or down Best pineapple rice I've had in a long time. Every ingredient is layered and incorporated beautifully. Crab Rangoon was yummy, nuff said Ambiance no frills, like any cafeteria in Bangkok, minus the street dogs and noise this strip mall Thai has sold me and will be back.

Didn't have expectations for any authentic ghai flavors in clt but it turned out alright. The drunken noodle Was pretty good but the beef is very chewy and stale tasting. Mango sticky rice is pretty standard, wish they use sweeter mangos. Overall the dishes a bit too sweet and can use less sugar.

Travel through Clt, was in the mood for Thai and found this gem. Food was fantastic, very flavorful! Service was friendly and quick, the restaurant ambiance was good and very clean. We had the red chicken curry and the Yum salad. The curry sauce was thick and flavorful with just the right amount of spices with vegetables and chicken. The Yum salad with beef had the perfect balance of vegetables with beef in every bite and dressing that offered a ton of flavor without making it soggy.

Order: vegetable pad lad na, chicken pad kra prow, chicken red curry, chicken crispy fried noodles and tofu pineapple fried rice. All their entrees come with a side of eggroll, soup or salad and portion size is generous. Vegetables pad lad na comes with Chinese broccoli, carrots, green beans, zucchini, Napa cabbage and mushroom served with their gravy sauce. Flavor was amazing but a little too much sauce. The chicken pad kra prow has a similar taste profile but unique in its own. I preferred the ground chicken instead of the strips they used here. Red curry is spicy. If you like spice then this is for you. Pineapple fried rice may not be for everyone if you are the same type of person who doesn't like pineapple on pizza lol. I personally loved it; just wished it had more pineapple. And lastly, the crispy noodles. This isn't a dish you'll want to take to-go. The noodles have to be eaten there otherwise it'll be soggy. But it's so yummy and I think it's served with the same gravy sauce. If they can put the sauce on the side for to-go then sogginess wouldn't be an issue. Overall the food is good! Only improvement would be service time. Last few times, they weren't busy but each time it took over 40 minutes to get our food. Think business is picking up for them because it was definitely a full house today. Glad we came before the rush.

    Pad Met Ma Muang
    Rose E.

Stopped in for a late lunch, at 1 pm (they close at 2 pm)... Wanted to try something new, so I ordered this Pad Met Ma Muang (Cashew Nut), a stir-fry dish, with a Veggie Spring Roll (a choice side). The waitress actually recommended this dish over the Volcanic Salmon dish I thought about trying. Well, I liked how there were plenty of juicy Shrimp in this dish, and a good mix of veggies, but the flavor of the dish was too heavy on Soy Sauce...not much in terms of having the typically amazing Thai flavors. With Cashew Nuts in the mix, I expected it to taste WAY better. Sadly, it was barely good. I seriously regretted not ordering the Salmon dish. Even the Spring Roll was sub par...as it was way too saturated with oil. On my very first time here, I thought the foods were really good, but on every visit after that, the foods have not been that great. Just barely good. Service was OK, though a bit absent. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the service staff acted so busy and preoccupied...maybe just eager to quickly close up shop? The best thing about this restaurant is that the pricing is quite friendly. Unlike other restaurants that have jacked up the prices since Covid, this place is still relatively cheap. Plus, this place is conveniently located next to one of my fave, new tea (and dessert) joints. For these reasons, I may return regardless (of my disappointments!).

We had a great dinner, but there were three things that kept it from being a 5-star experience. First, the air conditioning. I understand it's a hibachi restaurant and the grills naturally make the dining room warmer, but I've eaten at many hibachi restaurants over the years and have never experienced one this hot. Everyone at our table was sweating, and it became pretty uncomfortable. Second, the appetizer. The salad was fantastic--they certainly didn't skimp on the dressing--and the soup was absolutely delicious. However, the "appetizer" consisted of just two shrimp. Since I ordered the Hibachi Steak & Scallops, two shrimp were a nice addition, but I wouldn't really consider two shrimp an appetizer. My girlfriend ordered the Hibachi Chicken & Shrimp, so her appetizer was simply two more shrimp. It would have been nice to have another appetizer option instead of just adding shrimp to every meal. Third, the chef. The food was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious, but the hibachi experience itself was missing the entertainment. One of the things that makes hibachi special is watching the chef combine excellent cooking with fun tricks, conversation, and interaction with the guests. Our chef prepared the meal well and did the classic onion volcano, but beyond that, he simply cooked. It lacked the energy and engaging performance that I've come to expect from a hibachi restaurant. Those three things aside, the meal itself was outstanding. The salad, soup, steak, scallops, chicken, shrimp, fried rice, and vegetables were all excellent, and the portions were very generous. The friendly staff and delicious food definitely make Fuji worth visiting, and with just a few improvements, it could easily earn that fifth star from me. Overall, I give Fuji 4 stars. Unfortunately, before even reaching our table...which was exactly 12 feet from the front door and 3 feet from the host desk..., we were repeatedly pressured to choose the buffet despite clearly stating multiple times that we wanted to order from the à la carte menu. We were asked approximately six separate times by four different employees who were all standing within a few feet of one another. The experience felt uncomfortable, tense, and overly pushy. Overall, the atmosphere felt disorganized and desperate rather than welcoming. Another thoughtful detail that made the evening feel special. Since we arrived early, the atmosphere was quiet, intimate, and honestly very romantic. We could actually hear each other talk without raising our voices. The lighting was perfectly dim--creating a cozy ambiance without making it difficult to see the menu. The service was equally enjoyable. Our waiter and waitress were attentive, friendly, and never overbearing, allowing us to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. As for the food, it was every bit as good as I remembered. The quality hasn't changed at all--fresh, beautifully prepared sushi with consistently excellent flavors. I pulled the waitress aside to check on the delay, she explained they had a sudden influx of customers but she'd ask the kitchen to move a little quicker. The food did start coming out after that, and the managers came over to address the delay, which I appreciated, but the damage was done. I wanted a memorable birthday experience for my daughter, and unfortunately it ended up being a bit of a disappointment considering the time and cost.
