service was terrible. Our waitress walked up not happy no "hello" or any greating just said "what do you want to drink". Are appetizer came out with our food which was over cooked burnt mushrooms. We asked for an extra fish to be added to a plate and didn't get it. Never got a check in on how everything was going. We walked in at 7pm and the waitress was cleaning up for closing the entire time (which i understand in keeping busy, but you don't just neglect checking in and taking care of your table) our drinks were empty while we ate our dinner/ "appetizer" which is crazy to spend over $3 on a drink and never get a refill. we go to check out and let them know the extra fish never made it to the plate. The man (assuming cook) said we got it and that he cooked that many. we were told the plate came with 2 chicken tenders and 3 fish. So we should have had 4 fish. He began to tell us that's what he cooked. I told him i don't want to be charged for what we didn't get and that we didn't mind it not coming out. Just again not wanting to be charged for it. He continued to check us out and STILL charged us for the extra up charge. Our first and last time to try this boomerang. We will be driving the extra 25 min to Claremore to get the better service and food. read more

My best friend met up here because it's a "halfway" point between Dallas and KC. We used Yelp to help us find a spot that would be open around 1:30. When you walk in, it's definitely decked out like a diner. The menus are stuck to the tables. They have a lot of variety and breakfast is served all day. The bathroom was mostly clean and had supplies stocked. Oldies music was a nice touch. Our server took our order promptly, but we really never saw her again after the food came out. We actually heard her say she was taking a break and not to bother her (to her coworkers). I'm glad they get breaks, it just would have been helpful for another employee to check on us, since she was not available. I was missing my side of toast but the food I did receive was tasty. Biscuit with gravy had good flavor and was decently sized. I subbed sliced tomatoes for hash browns and the tomato was delicious. It can go either way so I was pleasantly surprised. My egg was cooked to order. My friend ordered sausage gravy, which costs extra, but only got regular gravy. She felt the food was average. Our other person is a pretty picky eater and she said she enjoyed the chicken strips, they were thinly breaded and flavorful. They were also sized bigger than some other place's strips. You pay at the register (not sure if you're supposed to get a ticket at the table. We did not.) and my friend did let the manager know that the gravy was not sausage so they took off the up charge. Nothing was offered for the missing side. Not sure we'll meet up here again, but with limited options, this is an okay place to get diner food. read more

Very clean, retro look, and feel. Extra chocolate chocolate shake was the bomb! Breakfast served all day. They have crushed ice! Service was very friendly, quick, and attentive. The food was great. We had the Big Country Breakfast, over easy eggs were cooked perfect, crispy hashbrowns, and crispy bacon. Single patty melt with added mushrooms was delicious. Really enjoyed the onion rings. I am going to give my 100% honest opinion!!! Yes, I got let go after 5 years and 3 months working there!!! The breakfast is amazing! My only complaint is that some of the newer waitresses are rude and lazy as hell!!!! Unprofessional and think they are cute by acting that way!!! I did my best to be the best waitress I could possibly be, but tragedy hit me and my family and I just wasn't able to be the person I used to be, im sure with time, thing will heal, but until then, I wish nothing but the best for boom-a-rang diner!!!! And I thank Kolina and Penny for giving me the opportunity to work there for as long as I did!!!! My only other advice is that they watch the cameras more at night because 95% of the time that floor is NOT being cleaned (probably why their floor is so slippery) like I said before, thank you, Kolina (multi manager) and Penny (the owner) for the opportunity to work for you guys!!! This was a good choice. I was in small town USA waiting for a court hearing (my day job is law). So from the rumbling of my stomach I decided I needed lunch (yes I know, duh!) Boomerang Diner is about a block from the Mayes County Courthouse. It was suggested to me by one of the deputies and I figured a local should know, so I decided to give it a try. This is a win. They have nostalgia all throughout the diner. There is a life-sized statue of Elvis. Their is a cardboard cutout if Marilyn. And many pictures of celebrities on the walls. I ordered the fish sandwich and it was wonderful. The fish was huge and literally twice the size of the bun. Totally delish. I actually took it with me and ate on it all afternoon. I also ordered the fried pickles. These are thin disc dill pickles that are breaded and fried and such an awesome taste of fried food. I ordered the peach fried pie. It was a great fried pie with lots of peachy goodness. And all of this for under $20. This is a place worth stopping in and visiting. read more

Wow! This is some seriously good country diner food! Mom had the half order big country ham steak & eggs which was not only delicious, but would be a large order anywhere else! Sister had the pancake special and said it was excellent, I had Elvins special with the biscuit and sausage gravy. So good! We also tried the 50/50 which is half pickle-o's & half fried mushrooms. OMG! Truly the best of either I've ever had! EXCELLENT FOOD, friendly service and great prices! You will be be missing out on a real gem if you don't stop in. 11/10!
