First time visit at any Slim Chickens, which was described to me as similar to Raising Cane's or Zaxby's. As its name describes, the emphasis is on chicken: sandwiches, fingers, and wings. I found my sandwich better than anything I've had at Zaxby's. The first bite yielded a lot of juice and flavor. And the combo (including fries and drink) was a much, much better value by almost 30% than the dry Signature Chicken sandwich I recently had at Panera. I would have to say that we have a slim chance of going back to this restaurant. We went through the drive-through and I had the chicken tenders. They were cold and dry. So dry that they were rubbery. The fries were also cold and really bad. So, I went back through the drive-through and kindly ask them to remake the order. They were agreeable to do so. When we received the food again, the food was still not fresh and it had just been maybe warmed a little bit and the fries were still the same way. It was just warmed up old food. At that point we had been waiting for about at least a half an hour just to have a good meal and we just cut our losses and left. I don't recommend this restaurant and that's unfortunate because I just really wanted to try a new place out. Went for lunch and had their new Bacon Ranch Chcken sandwich meal with fries. They also offered a free birthday dessert, so I ordered their brownie sundae which comes in a sealed Mason jar. The staff was super friendly and checked on us several times while we ate, which is unusual for a fast food place. My sandwich was served, hot and fresh, as were the fries. This is the perfect place for a quick family lunch with picky eaters! We did the family deal - the chicken was cooked to perfection. You get one side- we did Mac n cheese. Want to try their Cole slaw next time. I felt like they gave us a loaf of toast. And it comes with 4 drinks but they let us substitute a drink for a chocolate milk for my son. We added the friend pickles because why not and this gf to be the largest portion of pickles I've ever had! Management was very active and coaching the cashier. The potato salad was store bought the only reason I know the potato salad was store-bought because it was super yellow not the same texture chopped onions, tomatoes, and bell pepper in it and no bacon. Hey Owasso! There is a great chicken tender contender in town! Everything here was fresh and hot. I will say, they have fantastic chicken tenders but their sauces is definitely where it's at! We got a southern style family meal for the two of us(don't judge us we are fat haha). The family meals are not on the menu behind the cashier and the only reason we knew about it was because we downloaded the app and it offered family meals so just a tip! Anywho, that meal came with 12 tenders, ranch chips, toast, one side, 4 dipping sauces(Our choice: ranch, gravy, slim sauce and honey bbq) and a gallon of tea. It cost around $26 with taxes. It was worth every penny. Everything was good but let's get back to talking about the quality sauces, I loved every single one that we got! My absolute favorite was the slim sauce! The only little complaint I would have is the toast was a little soggy from the amount of butter on it but hey, if you love a ton of butter, it might be your jam. I say the toast won't beat another chicken tender joint's toast that is in town but the toast here was still tasty. The service was pretty good and quick. The place is fairly new and it's very clean. But the mushrooms are absolutely the worst. I don't understand why people can't let the mushrooms drain it's almost like they take it right out of the fryer and right into the bag cuz when I bite into him I get nothing but Grease. I finally decided to pop for a lunch at Slim Chickens, which is relatively new in Owasso. If you've read my reviews you know I have a thing about franchises to start with, so I'll just disclose that again, and get it out of the way. That said, I went through the door with my expectations lowered a couple of notches, one because of the franchise thing, and the other because it's fast food. Neither of those should keep a business from offering great, flavorful food. And yet..... I really wanted some buffalo wings today, but when I saw the King's ransom the wanted for 8 wings, I backpedaled and settled for the 5 tender/5 wing combo. I figure that would let me try both offerings in one sitting. This came with the obligatory fries and toast, and my choice of several sauces. Order was taken, paid for, and I got a little tent card and a cup for my iced tea. Quickly found a seat and settled in for the wait. Positive note... even during a pretty busy lunch, I got my order quickly. On the surface, it was a nicely plated assortment of food. I'll go in the order I tasted things. First the toast. Nicely done. Perfectly toasted with a decent amount of butter and just a hint of garlic. I could eat that all day long. Then the fries. As fries go, they were pretty good. Just a little crisp on the outside, and tender on the inside. But, who goes just for fries? They're there to round out the meal. These were good, but just good. Not great, not slammin', not "OMG these fries are the BEST". The wings. My order had 5 drumettes and one mid section, not that any of that matters. I ordered just plain buffalo wings, thinking I'd use that as a baseline. They were exceedingly bland. They lacked pretty much any chicken flavor, and the sauce was just a pale hit of buffalo flavoring. On a scale of awesome to suck, these would clock in at 'fills a hole'. For the love of all things holy, why won't these chicken places take the extra time to brine their chicken? It's salt and water for pete's sake. It's not costly. These are probably the bottom of the barrel for wings in Owasso, except maybe Pizza Hut. Also, they were barely warm, so that tells me they were NOT cooked for my order. I do a LOT of chicken wings, and they couldn't have cooked them fresh when I placed the order. The chicken tenders were up last. While possessing a great appearance, they were as bland as the wings, lacking pretty much any flavor whatsoever. Not even the breading had any flavor. One bite, and I was off in search of some salt and pepper. And on that note... Management, if you read this.... if you're going to serve food that's so bland people have to salt and pepper it, I have one word for you..... SHAKERS. It's annoying AF to have to open 97 little paper packets to get some flavor onto your food. The tenders were for sure cooked fresh, because they were blisteringly hot on the first couple of bites. I only chose blue cheese dressing for my sauces, because I typically don't dip chicken tenders in anything. In this case, the blue cheese saved the day for me, adding at least some flavor to the tenders. I really wanted to like Slim Chickens, because of the pantheon of fast food chicken places in Owasso, none really stand out. Slim's is just another mediocre offering in a sea of mediocrity. And let's not forget price. At just north of $13 for 5 tenders/5 wings and fries, I most certainly was not impressed. There are half a dozen places around Owasso that are locally owned/operated that will easily give you a MUCH better, more filling and more flavorful lunch for the same or less money. My wife and I was cruising around Owasso and decided to give Slim Chickens a try. I'm not a big fan of fast food chain restaurants. Especially those that sell chicken. The chicken is usually precooked, dry and a lot of the time the chicken nuggets are made from scraps that have been pressed into funny shapes (YUCK). The fried are usually cold and lack any desire to consume them. These restaurants are typically not as clean as I would like. Ok now that I have voiced my opinion of fast food chicken restaurants. I will now let you know We were pleasantly pleased with Slim Chickens. The Restaurant appeared to be clean, there were no unclean tables and booths. When someone left there was someone to clean the table quickly (cleanliness is very important to me). The lady who took our order was very pleasant and helpful with this being our first visit. My wife ordered the three piece strips with ranch dressing and I ordered the four piece strips with gravy. Our strips were actually strips of breast and not unidentifiable chunks of who knows what. The chicken and fry's where hot, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The toast was great as well. The lady that took our order came by a couple of times to make sure we enjoyed our meal. You typically don't find this kind of service in a fast food chain. Next time I will try the wings. The only issue I found was the prices were a little high. But I am willing to pay this if the quality remains as good as our first trip read more

A lot of people say we didn't need another chicken place (or mexican) and that it was the biggest D move since Los Aztecas moved right next to El Fogon (poor Larry's is right around the corner), but they seem to have a bunch of options like salad, wraps, sandwiches, and sides besides fries. I will start by saying that I have visited other locations and was not disappointed in taste, correct order or cleanliness. They have always been good experiences which is why I was excited to see we were getting one here in Owasso. That being said, I will not be going back. Half of my salad was brown and wilted and the cucumbers were brown in the center and starting to become slimy. If that wasn't off putting enough I had asked for my chicken to be tossed in buffalo which it even shows on the receipt, but was not. Definitely did not get the crisp delicious buffalo chicken salad I was craving or hoping for 100% not worth the $9 shelled out for it either. The customer service was A1 even asking if it was my first time coming by and if they could suggest some of their favorite for me to try. I was incredibly pleased by that and them being so patient. We are visiting Tulsa and needed to take 10 kids to lunch. The kids wanted fried chicken so we went to Slim Chickens. The service is exceptional. They were very patient as we ordered enough food to feed a small army. They even gave us drinks for the kids! This is a HUGE deal when you have that many kids. The food was hot and delicious. We loved the different dipping sauces. Korean BBQ had a hint of spice, BBQ was sweet, and honey mustard was perfectly blended. While they do not have rolls, they do have Texas garlic flavored toast. The "chips" were salty but flavorful and super crunchy. The chicken is NOT heavily breaded so you're not just eating breading but actual chicken. The chicken is juicy and delicious. I was not a fan of the mac and cheese but the kids enjoyed it and that is what matters. If we're ever back in Tulsa, we will definitely eat here again. read more

We went today, Sept. 29th. We each got a chicken tender meal. I got coleslaw instead of French fries. The coleslaw has a funny taste; I could never pin down what the dominant flavor was. It needed some sugar for sure. Just not a pleasant taste. The chicken was ok, nothing outstanding. It was hot. My toast was cold and had some soft places on the edges like it had sat awhile. The gravy was watery and had little taste. The best thing was the ranch dipping sauce. My husband had the same and felt the same. His French fries were hot and tasty.
