Overstuffed to the point where I needed a fork to scoop up the overflow. All loaded into a 10" fresh Italian roll. The owners are very friendly, the man shook my hand as he handed me the sandwich. I'll definitely be heading back to further explore the menu.

The owner is a lovely man who takes pride in his cooking and customer service. It's always nice to see "regulars" meet daily to have breakfast or coffee together. They actually made our experience even nicer as they noticed we were new to the spot and quickly welcomed us and raved about other items to try. I love joints like this! We both opted for bagel sandwiches and thoroughly enjoyed. However tip from regulars was to ensure we try his lasagna one day. What I absolutely loved was his medium cappuccino with one sugar to go! I heard that espresso machine brew away and thought this can't be. It was one of the best I've had and loved the large cup. I simply would come here daily just for that and his pleasantries! I believe a customer told me he was actually a chef at a famous restaurant before, but maybe I'm screwing this story up a bit. However I am coming back as my hair salon is across the street and I will now stop here beforehand even if just for the cap! Looking forward to trying his other food and he has very affordable pricing! About 4 tables to sit, but many were coming in to order and go! See you soon!

The store from outside is different, but nice. Private parking lot. The best part, that you can see the big guy at the back doing the fresh bagels, I wish I could make a video to add it to my review.

It's huge with a lot of seating. They have a nice selection of bagels, spreads, sandwiches/wraps, beverages and other items. I ordered an egg everything bagel with bacon, egg, cheese, hash brown & salt, pepper, ketchup. I was excited to see egg everything because not every bagel shop has that option! Unfortunately I took my food to-go and when I opened my bagel from the foil it was just a regular everything bagel. Not a big deal, but the ticket even said egg everything so not sure what happened. It was also quite dry, any ketchup that was on there got soaked up by the hash brown. My boyfriend ordered a breakfast burrito and really enjoyed it though! The frappe was pretty good. I ordered it because I thought it would be frozen and it was a hot day, but I learned Greek frappes are not served that way! We also grabbed a lil coffee cake brownie thing from the counter which was fine. I would say overall, based on this experience, the ambiance and decor of this place kind of outshine the food and service. I feel like at a place called BGL the bagels should be the star of the show ya know? I'd return to try some of their unique cream cheese options or maybe a wrap since their menu is so extensive!

Tucked into a strip mall (rubbing elbows with the likes of a Foodtown, Dunkin and Taco Bell, among…read moreothers) - the humble and tiny Metro Bagels has been going strong for years now. You walk inside and it's got enough 'stuff' to fill a Costco but it's not much bigger than your living room. Cases of soft drinks about to topple over in that corner, lighters and Alka-Seltzer in another corner... you get the idea. (If you have too much time to look around you'll eventually notice those grills tops probably haven't had a proper deep cleaning since Beyoncé competed on Star Search in the early 90's.) As for the bagels? A good dozen flavors/options. They're a wee bit smaller and pricier than the local competition. (And yes, for a town as small as North Arlington - there's an absurd amount of bagel joints.) They have a nice snap and decent flavor. Maybe my favorite part of waiting for my food is checking out the "celebrity gourmet sandwich board" on the back wall. My teen kids might know/recognize 'Dolly Parton' and the 'Sly Stallone' but... Omar Sharif?! And how can you not you appreciate "The President" - vague enough that both Repubs and Dems can 'reach across the aisle' to order it and no arguments or recalls would be necessary. In NA (locals never actually say "North Arlington", now you know!) my favorite bagel place is Sam's. Sadly Metro would be my least fave of the crop. The gentleman behind the counter (the owner?) is really friendly. (And there's a parking lot - which gets crazy as the day progresses.)
