( and being from NJ, that's a lot!) I picked mozzarella out of 7 cheese options and I stuck with bacon although I could have changed it. Amazing; this Colombian roll made it perfect. I also tried a piece of a classic: bagel with taylor ham, egg, & cheese. It was just "ok" but not great. They don't put a lot of each ingredient on it. I've had many better versions elsewhere. But I would recommend adding or changing any sandwich to your preference. They let you add\remove many options of meats, veggies, and condiments to all of their signature sandwiches. I've had the one in Hawthorne saved to my Yelp list but never got there. Well they certainly made it easy for me! I got there early on opening day and there was a LINE! Which is absolutely understandable and that is awesome for them. I waited in line for quite some time but I was dedicated. The first 25 people received swag and some of us got a free fresh squeezed juice. It was really nice while waiting in line. When I finally got inside, service was super friendly and moving as fast as they could. I ordered their latte of the month which was French toast flavored and so good! The French toast stick on top just makes it that much better. I also got Charlie's sandwich on a pandebono. That was so good and I'm glad I went with the pandebono option. It has turkey bacon, scrambled eggs with sautéed scallions and tomatoes, a hashbrown, and mozzarella cheese. It definitely stepped up the sandwich game. Next time I may get it without the hashbrown. The bagels were just ok - my kids weren't the biggest fan, but they want to try it again at some point, maybe with the pandebono. The inside is pretty big and spacious with seating in the back. It's bright and open. They also have a kiosk to order food which may make things go faster but I saw people struggling with the payment on it. I look forward to visiting Carlos' again. During my visit, I experience less than satisfactory customer service. An employee seems kind, just…read morearriving, hurrying to change shoes to get to work, asking me if I have yet to receive any professional attention (which I have yet to within the five minutes so far of standing at the counter staring at the menu from a register). A different employee is busy helping other customers. I order my meal, pay, then sit at a table. I'm reading though watching different patrons coming and going. I'm thinking perhaps ordering ahead is ideal, perhaps my meal takes extra time, because twenty minutes go by and I don't receive any word from an employee about the meal. So, I decide to wait five more minutes before saying anything, then finally ask about the progress of the meal. The employee claims thinking that I already eat and figures I'm just sitting in the eatery. The employee proceeds to fulfill my order. So, I receive my order after a few more minutes (about thirty-five minutes before a bite). For the most part, I opt for Vegan options, though I step in to try the eatery, thinking of a breakfast bagel sandwich. The O.G. on an Everything Bagel is decent; the Swiss Cheese offers a subtle sweetness, with a dull tartness which offers a soft pleasant after taste, which doesn't carry a milky flavor; the raw onion is barely perceptible between the eggs, tomatoes, turkey bacon, salt, pepper, and ketchup, though may be more so if set apart for a re-chew more so on its own with the eggs, tomatoes, and turkey bacon. The potato tastes like it goes through a really fast heating process; the bottom of the potato is more so grill burning crispy than tasty seasoning crispy and holds a watery tasting cooler interior which is inconsistently warm spreading from the grill burning crispy base. After the wait and eating, I wonder if the eatery has a system of acknowledging an order to ensure it is complete (e.g., classic write the order on paper and stick it where the chef can see any order that needs readying, so a patron may receive satisfactory customer service and so the business may operate more efficiently). The interior has low wall booth seating for about twenty-four people and standing room near the entrance.
