During my visit, I experience less than satisfactory customer service. An employee seems kind, just arriving, hurrying to change shoes to get to work, asking me if I have yet to receive any professional attention (which I have yet to within the five minutes so far of standing at the counter staring at the menu from a register). A different employee is busy helping other customers. I order my meal, pay, then sit at a table. I'm reading though watching different patrons coming and going. I'm thinking perhaps ordering ahead is ideal, perhaps my meal takes extra time, because twenty minutes go by and I don't receive any word from an employee about the meal. So, I decide to wait five more minutes before saying anything, then finally ask about the progress of the meal. The employee claims thinking that I already eat and figures I'm just sitting in the eatery. The employee proceeds to fulfill my order. So, I receive my order after a few more minutes (about thirty-five minutes before a bite). For the most part, I opt for Vegan options, though I step in to try the eatery, thinking of a breakfast bagel sandwich. The O.G. on an Everything Bagel is decent; the Swiss Cheese offers a subtle sweetness, with a dull tartness which offers a soft pleasant after taste, which doesn't carry a milky flavor; the raw onion is barely perceptible between the eggs, tomatoes, turkey bacon, salt, pepper, and ketchup, though may be more so if set apart for a re-chew more so on its own with the eggs, tomatoes, and turkey bacon. The potato tastes like it goes through a really fast heating process; the bottom of the potato is more so grill burning crispy than tasty seasoning crispy and holds a watery tasting cooler interior which is inconsistently warm spreading from the grill burning crispy base. After the wait and eating, I wonder if the eatery has a system of acknowledging an order to ensure it is complete (e.g., classic write the order on paper and stick it where the chef can see any order that needs readying, so a patron may receive satisfactory customer service and so the business may operate more efficiently). The interior has low wall booth seating for about twenty-four people and standing room near the entrance. read more

I remember it being good before but everything is good when you are hungover lol This time Sober Sally really enjoyed a Classic Egg and Cheese . A guy named Mike toasted that bun to perfection (strictly pg13 style lol) Can't beat $4.30 including a 20 Oz seltzer. I've been going to this bagel shop on and off for a few months. I went there 2 days ago and was extremely disappointed. I asked for a sausage egg and cheese bagel (my normal go-to) and received the smallest bagel I've ever received. Could easily be confused with a jimmy dean breakfast sandwich ‍. I noticed the size of the bagel and naturally just took it because I was starving but then BOOM almost 6 bucks . I know times are hard and prices may have to rise to keep things afloat which I can definitely understand but 6 bucks for a jimmy dean bagel? Super disappointed. My only hangup with Cambridge is that it smells like feet. All the time. I don't get it... It's the only somewhat local spot in Bloomfield for my wife and I - the nearest one is a bit of a drive. It's a shame there's no really good bagel places nearby, but this place has sufficed. My SO's sister loves them so much, she bought about a dozen to take with her to Gettysburg, PA when she started university there. Friendly staff! Been there on four different occasions and most of the workers are smiling and appear happy to help you. All your food is cooked in full view. Things to know: Order your Hot meals and coffee/tea will be made on left cash register. Bacon, Taylor ham, Eggs, and even sliced Lox...this place has it all. Bagel orders plain or with cream cheese or butter can be made on right cash register. Bagels are good. Best in town! You may have to wait for a few for your food upwards of 5-10 minutes depending on but it is worth the wait. Plan ahead if you are in a rush. Coffee is not the greatest but for the coffee aficionados there is a Starbucks (only a NY city block away) on Bloomfield Avenue and a Dunkin Donuts within a mile on Glenwood Avenue. I used to come here frequently on my way to work in Newark from Montclair more than 11 years ago. Moved a lot, came back to Jersey in 2016, found it and so glad they are still there. No frills but my favorite is still great: New Jersey' own Taylor ham, egg and cheese on Kaiser roll. I need to and will try the other breakfast meals. I recall their lunch sandwiches are good too. Do not go here for the bagels. As a lifelong NJ/NYC resident, I've had my fair share of bagels and some may even call me obsessed with my weekend ritual of morning bagels and coffee. So naturally when I was visiting downtown Bloomfield last Sunday morning I was looking for a warm bagel to satisfy my addiction. To my surprise, there weren't many (any?) options in the downtown area other than Cambridge Bagel Factory. The place has a NYC bodega feel to it; not clean with a disorganized layout. The bathrooms were worse than 99% of Porta Johns I've patroned. The staff seemed nice, though. As for the bagels, they were tiny and tasted like a Thomas' Bagels you could find at the nearby Foodtown. I could only stomach two bites before I declared defeat. I will not be back for their bagels. I'm praying a real New Jersey style bagel shop opens in downtown Bloomfield; there's a serious need. read more

I have been coming here for breakfast for many years and love it. It's probably the cheapest breakfast in the area. You can get two eggs anyway you want, home fries, and any bagel with cream cheese for $1.99 before 9:00am and after 9:00am it's $2.99. The chef has been the same guy cooking since I was a little kid. I am pretty much done with this place. I have continued to go up until today because it was on the way to the parkway, but on numerous occasions, just to order a toasted bagel with cream cheese, I have waited on the line in excess of 15 minutes--and for various reasons (incompetent workers, slow toaster, etc.) I came in one day and one of the workers was from behind the counter holding a dog (yuck) against her work clothes. Today, I asked for a multigrain bagel and the worker tried to give me a cinnamon raisin bagel. When I asked her since when did multigrain bagels have raisins she told me they always did. It's just one thing after the other. They will never get my business again.
