I've only been here to mini gold and I have to say that $12 per person for is a price you can't beat! The course is pretty spacious with the usual 18 holes. We had a group of about 20 Millennials, GenX and Baby Boomers, yet we were able to get in some go-kart driving and laser tag, eat pizza and get back to work in 2 hours. I came here because I had go karting tickets & tokens I didn't use from a previous time at the Fountain Valley location. They let us use the go karting tickets and it was really fun! Wait was not too bad and staff working the ride was friendly. However, this location has changed to the card/point system and no longer uses tokens. The manager wouldn't let us switch our coins into points onto a card. One of the staff members said they're the only ones using the card system so it was a bummer. It just doesn't make sense that even though they're they same company, they couldn't do anything to turn our coins into something useable. read more

Went there on Presidents Day (2/17/20). Did not buy the season pass because wanted to see and experience the park before. Got tickets for the mini golf and the staff was very slow getting us the tickets, it seems that she was new or didn't know what she was doing. Went to the arcade and play some games, after that wanted to redeem a price with my tickets however I was missing 1 ticket to get a price for my child, asked the staff (Stephanie) at around 18:40 hrs if I can pay for that 1 ticket and she said: NO! loud enough so I don't say anything else. Then Stephanie insisted to get my card to see how many points I have I said I'll check with the machine and she left. After 1-2 minutes she came back and asked, are you guys ready I said: NO! She was walking back and forth and asked again, are you guys ready?? There was no other people in line. She came back for the third time and asked me again, are you ready? I said I'll call you when I'm ready, what's your name? She showed me her name tag and turned pale after I asked for her name. After that she was a little bit more courteous, but still with an attitude. This kind of employee shouldn't be allowed to interact with guests and you cannot say no to a guest, instead give an alternative option. Sorta fun but there's definitely room for improvement! Summer hours currently mean that everything is pretty much open during the day. I brought my boyfriend here for a date on a Thursday afternoon. Since we wanted to play mini-golf and laser tag, ride go-karts, hit at the batting cages, we decided to buy the $75 card with 1,000 points rather than purchasing each activity separately. There were 3 girls at the outdoor counter and only one of them offered to help us. She was kind and answered our questions. Every time I walked by this main counter a few workers were standing around chatting and laughing. Not the most attentive or approachable bunch of teenagers to be honest. We stopped a few staff members walking around to ask basic questions but they didn't know the answer. Newbies perhaps? TIP: They let us share the card and points. The Boomers play card itself cost $1 so I recommend not throwing it away if you plan to ever come back again. Mini-Golf: Staff gave little to no direction. Didn't know there were two different courses until we walked up and noticed two "Hole 1" signs posted. Honestly at first figured it was a mistake but chose the course that didn't have two dozen little kids on the very first hole. Summertime means children and summer camps during the day. Anyway, the course we played (left side) seemed to be in good condition. Comparable to other Boomers locations and much better than Golf N Stuff! Go-Karts (aka bumper cars per the tweens who insist on bumping and hitting every go-kart in sight): MAJOR kudos and thanks to the guys who work the go-kart track. Bless their patient hearts. I swear I would go crazy if I had to deal with little brats all day. I'm obviously bitter but did not dock stars due to fellow customers and their lack of parenting/supervision. Batting cages: We were clueless and I was worried reading "No refunds." Sunny, hot day = too bright to read machine screens. Kept fiddling with the huge machine until the boyfriend discovered to use the small machines INSIDE the cage to swipe our play card. Kinda fun when the balls would actually come out somewhat hittable. Bats and helmets are provided. I liked how there are various pitching speeds. Laser tag: Why, oh just why. I understand that you're young, it's summer, and there's a plethora of other things you would rather be doing than supervising laser tag. But c'mon, please at the very least go through the motions of doing your job to explain the game and rules! I hadn't played before and waited for her to say something as I struggled to put the vest over my head. Instead she opened the door and told us "run to your charging station"...um what? If the other adult-ish persons hadn't told us how to shoot with two hands halfway through the game it would have completely sucked. Arcade: Air conditioned, yay! I didn't have any issues with broken down games. Love, love, looooove skeeball, air hockey, beer pong, deal or no deal, and all the other games we spent probably more than 500 points on haha. Clean environment. In fact, I saw staff wiping down machines and sweeping during my visit. Very cool idea to swipe play cards for everything and tickets load onto it. Again, at the arcade prize counter like 3 or 4 girls stood around and pointed at the one girl who could do her job and help us. We won a bunch of tickets and left with a few prizes and candy. What can I say about Boomers that hasn't been said before? It's mini-golf - aka a blast into the past. A lot of people overlook mini-golf as a fun thing to do, but to be honest we had a great time. The weather was nice out, no problems with finding parking, and it was affordable. I'll make it quick: Mini-golfing was cheap for 3 people, $20 for all of us. But the courses NEED TO BE remodeled. There's tons of ripped courses and the balls can barely find their way out of it. Unless they did it on purpose to put extra challenge on their courses. Everything else is pretty expensive. But if you come with a large party they discount ya pretty well. Lighting at night on the course lacks as well. May come back if they remodel. There are many other options out there for the golfing. read more

Purchased two champ passes via groupon. They were good for 4 hours of unlimited fun, excluding the batting cages and arcade. We came on a Sunday afternoon and park was not very crowded. Mini golf: 18 holes. If it's a busy day, your game may take a while if you get stuck behind a large group. There are two starting points, one on each side, so take advantage of them! Go-karting: One track for the youngsters, and one for adults. You must have 'secured shoes'. This means no flip flops: only shoes that have a back strap. Since only about 12 people can go kart at a time, the expect to wait here the longest. Laser tag: The equipment is pretty old. None of the vest buckles work, but that doesn't stop you from playing the game! The course is pretty basic and you can choose whether to play individually or in teams. Bumper boats: Expect to get soaked.They are hard to maneuver and don't go very fast, but they are fun on a hot day! Everything else: There are a few other rides that resemble carnival/ OC fair rides. They look a bit run down, and hardly anyone was on them. Overall, our experience was good. I was happy with the deal we got, but would have a hard time paying $29.99 (full price) a person for the same experience. If I were to come back, it would be to try out the batting cages. read more

Can't say much that hasn't been said already. Visited on a weekend. There was 1 person controlling all of the kiddie rides. Even with a few tickets it was difficult to spend them with so few rides running or being managed. They might as well open a buffet and then not serve any food. I would have been so irritated if I would have paid for an all day pass. Kids go carts would run for 10 minutes at a time because the staff was too lazy to rotate the kids. The golf seemed chaotic and poorly maintained. There were very few fun holes that you'd expect from miniature golf. Adult go-carts were fun. Arcade was mostly worthless ticket games and many did not work but could not find anyone readily available to assist. read more

Boomers is a little expensive, but it's a great time for the kids with lots of options. In one day with my niece we played video games and miniature golf; sailed on the bumper boats, which double as a nice water soaking on a hot day; went on the Sidewinder ride, the go karts, and the rock climbing wall. We played Skee-Ball, air hockey, and some other oddity carnival games. Sure, I spent probably forty bucks apiece for her and me once it was all said and done (there's a fee that includes the video games and all the rides, but it doesn't include some of the other games in the arcade area; those are pay as you go), but it was all worth it when I took her home at the end of the day, and she looked up at me and proclaimed, "That was the best day EVER." If you must go, I heartily recommend you try to go on a day they won't be totally slammed, because I bet it could turn into a drag if you had hordes of people there. read more

This a fairly decent place and will probably go here again because of where I live, but it needs a lot of work. I went there recently for a friends B-day since he wanted to go to the batting cages. Several of them were broken and others were barely working. Also my Gf snagged her foot on the chain link fence since the bottom of it was sticking out. We go here about once a year after picking pumpkins at a farm a few miles down the road. It has become a tradition over the past 5 years or so for my wife and I. We like playing the mini golf and trying some of the "ticket" games in the arcade. The mini golf was probably here first and they haven't really done anything to it since it opened I'd bet. The tee boxes and "greens" are pretty beat up and there isn't too much variation in hole types throughout. I tried the batting cages and was pleasantly surprised with the bat selection. Several bats of varying length and weight with large diameter barrels. The first cage I went into either was not on or was not working so I had to try the next one. The arcade was pretty fun. There is a good mix of old school shooting games, newer games, and games that spit out tickets you can redeem for "prizes". On a side note I realized how much of a scam the tickets thing is. I never really paid attention in the past but we spent about 40ish dollars to play in the arcade and we accumulated 400 tickets or so ~ 10 cents per ticket. I saw a kid "win" a lava lamp that cost 3500 tickets or roughly 350 dollars using the rate I calculated. A lava lamp for 350 dollars? haha. Anyway, the mini golf is a little beat up but it was a fun time. read more

AMAZING. I am part of Concordia University Irvine's Student Success Center and we were looking for places and activities to host 100 incoming freshmen students. We reached out to many organizations and Boomers was beyond the most helpful one. I emailed Anneliese Morgan and she replied immedietely and set up an appointment to meet with us. They accomadated 100 students and 12 mentors to go to their park. They gave us cards for each student and mentor for four hours unlimited play. It included all their outdoor attractions (except the water park) and many indoor arcades and lazer tagg. They provided these at low cost for our students and free for our mentors. We are absolutely grateful for the great hospitality they provided for our group. Our students had an absolute amazing experience. Many of our students are new into the area and they loved their experience this weekend thanks to Boomers. We will definitely be visiting them again and hope to make it a tradition to welcome our students in their park. A HUGE thank you to Boomers ! read more

Took my 6 yr old girl here on Friday & we had fun. 2 or 3 different mini golf courses (we just went anywhere we wanted & created our own course), go-carts for kids & adults, batting cages, kids rides & a couple for teens+, then a bunch of games. It's not perfect (nothing ever is), but the teenager redeemed us for the games that didn't work, no questions asked. Thnx again. Scanner didn't work on 1 ride so everyone rode for free, pretty cool. My daughter won a bunch of tickets & was stoked. All & all, a good day. $25 = Good Xs! read more

I am a big kid at heart! I have been her a couple times over the past six months. They have mini golf, batting cages, arcade, and lots of stuff for the little kids (mini go karts and water bumper car things). I went back here for the batting cages. Before we went, I scoped it out on their website. I signed up for their e-club and got GREAT coupons! We got to play two rounds of mini golf, 3 turns (25 pitches each) in the batting cages and a free spin on the wheel for $9! The free spin got us one free rock climbing wall! I love getting a good deal! Plus, we had tons of fun. The place is a little run down, and because of that slightly depressing. The arcade smelled funny and the golf course was kind of falling apart. It's good to see some Boomers are still around. This one is one of the better places i've been to. The snack bar area is large and serves a robust amount of junk food. They have the new coke soda machine with 106 different flavors (personally I like raspberry Fanta). The arcade games for the most part are from the late 90's and early 2000's with the exception of a brand new new dance game and new racing game. I came for the dance game, which was in it's own little area by the front with only the "magic floor" attraction near it, so my friend and I had plenty of room to relax. there were also nice chairs nearby. It was raining when we arrived, so I didn't get to check out the outdoor activities, but they looked solid. I guess for Irvine natives this is a fine choice to bring your kids or hold a birthday party/school trip, but after going to Round 1 in Rowland heights, I can't bear to appreciate any boomer's nowadays. read more

We came here for a company picnic for my mom's work. The place wasn't too shabby, from what I remembered way back when. Yes, the staff are pretty much all high school age, but they were extremely polite and courteous. The games inside were all up to date and provided many options. If there's a huge crowd, the bathroom situation can be a bit dicey, especially for the ladies. The concession stand-type food was okay, a bit on the expensive side which is expected just like any stadium or movie complex. It's nice that there were plenty of seating to relax and talk inside and outside. We were there in the afternoon, but I'm sure it gets pretty crazy at night when the hooligans and idiot teenagers plunder the place. read more

I was excited to take my family here for a couple of hours on Fourth of July. I brought my 4 year old and a 2 year old. I purchased a season pass for the 4 year old and purchased extra points for the little guy for the few rides that he can go on. All in all we spent over a $100, including food. I am so disappointed that I spent this much money to receive such poor service by the staff. They were unfriendly and unprofessional. I understand most of the staff are young kids, but I am bringing in my young children for a good time and spending money, and the workers did not smile and generally had a negative tone. They did not explain the process well with the activation of the season pass and the chaperone on the rides. The guys that ran the rides were all inconsistent with how they handled us and what they allowed us to do. When we were told no, they made us feel as if we were trying to cheat them. In addition, after getting frustrated, we saw a group of the workers gathering and talking and looking at us. We knew they were saying things about us. It took a long time to get my food, which was basically a pretzel and nachos when there was no one in front of me or behind me. It looked like the workers prepared some food and sneaked it to the other workers before working on my food when I was trying to get back to my kids who were hungry. All in all, the facilities IS what it IS. I don't like the non-participant fee and the fact that it costs $75 for a cabana in the cove. Its not Disneyland, but I would at least expect the staff to be trained to be friendly since there are kids all around, and know how to handle basic customer service issues and questions without being rude, clueless and condescending. I will be back since I got a season pass for my son, but if they don't shape up I wont be going back in the future. My $ can go a long way elsewhere. 2 Stars only because my son loved Thunder Road so much. read more

Bad customer service! NOT Worth The Price for the rides. Vivan the cashier at the food section was not there she taken off else where for 15 minutes, then when she got back she went straight to the back, hiding I had to pond on the metal cash register for 8 minutes to get her attention. Then she finally came out. The food was Ok. There was another Mexican large lady black medium curly at the end hair, whom was rude in the tone of her voice. My 7 yr old son always has a good time at Boomers. I just wish the FV location was as nice as Irvine location. We just had a great interaction with one of the employees named Elahe. She got us registered with our new card. She was fast, efficient and very knowledgeable. We had an unrelated isssue later on in the day and she was so kind and helpful! Batting cages are finicky. Bought 30min of batting. Went to one of the softball cages, swiped the card, and waited for the balls to start coming... and waited and waited... after a minute I tried swiping again, still no balls. I tried a third time and it locked the card. Went to the counter where I bought the pass and told them what happened, so they reset the card back to 30min... went back to the cages but tried another one and wouldnt even read the card... and another and still wouldnt read it. Went back to the desk, they reset again... same thing... went back again and they refunded me but let me keep the card and said to keep trying... I finally got a cage that worked and was able to bat for several rounds so it wasn't a complete waste, but it was frustrating and a time suck. At least the staff were friendly and helpful and gave me a refund, otherwise I'd rate this place a 1. read more

I was concerned based on the other reviews, and it had been a few years since I'd been to this location, but I was pleasantly surprised. Everything we encountered was in reasonably good working order (i.e. some of the Laser Tag vests had a clip broken, but the vest still fit properly). The Go-Karts all appeared to be in good shape as well, though I miss the board that showed the race times. The 2 miniature gold courses were in acceptable condition, though there was definite wear-and-tear on them. The employees we interacted with were about evenly split between being friendly and perfunctorily doing their jobs. My only complaints: 1) In the go-kart race before mine, there was an adult driver who repeatedly and flagrantly violated the "no bumping, no swerving, no cutting off other drivers" rules. He spun out at least 4 other drivers, cut people off on almost every single turn, and constantly swerved. In spite of all of this, and with track attendants watching the race, he was not reprimanded at all, much less removed from the course as he should have been. 2) The yellow course for mini-golf starts out with some fun "spinners" before every odd-numbered hole. Depending on what you get when you spin, you may get to switch your ball position with another player, putt behind your back, etc. This looked like fun and was why we played the course. However, after Hole 6 they disappeared. Very disappointing. In spite of these complaints, we were pleased with our overall experience and would definitely return. read more

Love this arcade. Arcades are pretty much extinct in the Monterey Bay area, and the best we have up North is Scandia. This is better than Scandia. It has the whole deal: awesome games, ticket redemption, laser tag, Go-Karts, "water park" area, a thrill-ride, batting cages, mini-golf, and a section for kids! It's the whole deal pretty much, and is ranked top 2 of my favorite arcades in California (Only one being better is Round One in Puente) Also, a bowling alley right outside if you're craving to knock some pins down. This location is wonderful and is amazing on summer days. read more

The mini golf is awful, every hole is basically the same and poorly lit as well. The layout makes zero sense and you lose track of what hole you're on, trust me this will make sense when you see it. Disgusting!!! Went for the Go Karts and fell ILL while waiting in que. Will never set foot into this sh*t hole again. If you would like to get carbon monoxide poisoning, go Kart racing at this location! This place should be shut down until they can figure out how to not poison their customers, standing under a canopy that traps CO2 is dangerous and irresponsible. We had a family birthday party here and afterwards the kids went on the rides and played games etc. We had two kids from our party try the rock climbing wall and the girl there, I think her name is Cindy (tall and thin with long dark hair), was very nice to the kids. Even when one couldn't go any higher she talked to them very kindly and even let them try an easier route. She was very informative and kind to the kids and even knew her information on video games. All of the workers there should act like this young lady, she was great and made the visit better than expected! read more

Our younger boys went into laser tag and got bullied by some older boys. These older boys pushed them against the wall and shoved the guns into their faces. They also called them names and continued to harass them in the parking lot. We reported it to the employee who didn't help in any way. I called the manager the next day and she apologized and offered to email some game cards to try and keep us as customers. Game cards were never emailed. I know you can't control obnoxious behavior from other guests. But, I would expect Boomers to have more concern for their patrons by doing something about it afterwards or keeping their word about the game cards. The only reason/excuse the manager provided was that a lot of their employees are high school kids so they don't really expect them to do much. read more
