Had a great time here with friends. Was my first time even though I love to visit Savannah and the bars. My waitress was new but she kept it together. A little more practice and knowledge of the food and drinks and she will be rocking and rolling. The music was a great mix and I love that it was older music from the 2000s played because let's be honest THAT was an era to be alive in.The food was actually a surprise I was expecting the menu BUT I was appreciative. Also on your menu you advertise pot stickers (which is also still a dumpling) but in actuality it was a fried wonton. And an amazingly tasting wonton at that. The chili sauce with the calamari could also go with the wonton. Fried rice is A1 don't skip over it. And the spring rolls were great as well. The beef was so undercooked I downloaded Yelp. Normally when I get food that wasn't satisfactory I move on with my day and avoid eating there again. However, I wasn't even able to taste my food let alone eat it. I had ordered beef pho to go and when I got to my office I was presented with a cold foil wrapped hunk of bloody gray and brown beef. I tried boomys for the first time about a month ago and was pleasantly surprised. The beef pho was very good and I quickly recommended boomys to all of my friends. Who would of thought a favored biker bar would have good Thai. However, after this experience I can't say I'd recommend boomys for Thai. read more

Very pleasantly surprised with Boomy's! It is the last place you would think to get Thai food, but I am glad we tried it! All of the food was great, my only complaint was that there was a little too much sauce on my pad Thai and the sauce was on the sweeter side. This place was a lot of fun! I have heard about Boomy's nerd slushy from a friend and it has been on my list for a long time! We ended up coming here while on a pedal pub and since we had wrist bands we got a ton of free stuff! When we walked in we got a free cup to put our to go drinks in. Drunken noodles, drunken me... not sure which was better! First we had great calamari and then I had the drunken noodles with a spice level of 8 with tofu. Yep they don't even offer it that spicy but I got exactly what I asked for and it was ! After a few cocktails we moved to the slot machine in the back and blew some cash but it was a good time! Unexpected! Looks like just a normal bar but serves up awesome Pho and other Vietnamese cuisine. The pork dumplings were absolutely to die for. Pho was also very tasty. The pad Thai was different than I've had before- almost tasted like a mix of general Tso and peanut sauce. Didn't like that dish as much. Boomy's is a really good restaurant disguised as a dive bar. One of the employees at our hotel restaurant recommended this place to us for the good food. I was with my in-laws and we had our doubts when we got there but we decided to check it out. It was a rocky start because all the food we ordered tasted good but was extremely salty. We let our server know and she was on it. Apparently, there was some investigation in the back and they realized that someone put salt where the sugar should be. Happens to the best of us. They re-made our dishes and they were delicious. The fried wonton was so yummy and the sauce that came with it was amazing. We ordered the cashew tofu noodle, cashew chicken with rice, and la na. I was impressed Boomys had so many vegetarian options. My mother-in-law is a vegetarian and we found a lot of the restaurants we tried didn't have great vegetarian options. I ended up taking my leftover and I ended up eating it after my walk on River St. I'm not sure if it's possible but the food was even more delicious when I ate it later. Next time we're in Savannah, we'll definitely come back for the delicious food as well as the great staff. read more

My daughters and I visited here on a Sunday afternoon. It was one of my daughters and my first time here. My other daughter has been wanting us to visit here cause it's one of her favorite places to eat downtown. You can't let the looks fool you. It looks like a dive bar, you would never know they have the best Thai food I have had in Savannah. And they serve food until 2 am. I ordered the cucumber salad and the veggie spring rolls. They were amazing. I ordered the salad at a 3 hot. Which was perfect. It had a kick but didn't linger where I couldn't taste anything but spice. The girls ordered vegetarian dumpling, pad Thai and Drunkin Noodles. They loved their food. I tried the dumplings and they were amazing. They have a great wine and beer selection, and a full bar. They also have six different flavors of frozen slushy drinks. In the back of the bar they have a pool table. I look forward to coming back. $6 Wonton soup, with a hair in it. It's probably the most disappointing soup though, even before discovering the hair after the first few slurps. It comes with tiny 4pieces of wontons and the broth is simply water and their spice oil. No actual flavor other than heat to it. I understand places make things differently and I would've just noted to myself that -I- personally do not like this soup, but the hair crossed the line. I also ordered the fresh spring roll, which is a rice paper wrap that they put into a paper to go box - this means the wrap sticks to the paper box and peels the box along with it. So you end up eating cardboard. read more

I calculated the drinks and the food. You didn't loose much if any. We run a Thai restaurant in upstate South Carolina and we waited patiently for our food. We've order more drinks while waiting. It was very absurd we've waited that long. To anyone going here as a group for food I HIGHLY suggest going else where. Restroom is a typical bar. The menu and signage is what draws you in. Now! Don't let the hole in the wall vibe of this bar scare you away... I know it can be a little imitating on Friday nights with all the bikers outside. They are just BIG teddy bears I promise. I've been coming to Boomy's for years for drinks but never thought to try out their menu. Most bar food is fries, burgers and nachos not really something I'm interested in. But... it was late and I figured why not! WOW! Who would have known that an hidden gem would be hiding in Boomy's. I had the Pho Ga (gluten free - of course) and it was delicious! The soup was HUGE and the flavor was the perfect blend of spices. Since that night/early morning of late May.. I have been back at least fifteen times. I've even ordered take out for lunch and driven in from Pooler to pick up so my office could try it out. Really impressed with all of the menu and I'm slowly working my way through everything. Sports bar that specializes in Thai food?! My dream come true. We got the recommendation for Boomy's by numerous locals. We don't necessarily seek out Thai on vacation because we have a favorite back at home that is unmatched but we went for it because of all the raving. Walking in there's a large bar and some tables, make your way to the back for more tables. They have TV's everywhere so you don't have to miss a single thing! We sat at the bar and the bartender was super attentive. We ordered a couple drinks and decided to get chicken pad Thai. It was incredible! In town for a quick night Saw good reviews for Thai. Went there and it seems they didn't get the Covid-19 memo. The president and half his cabinet have covid and no one at this business, that serves food and drinks, was wearing a mask. Neither staff or patrons. Other businesses nearby in the day before and morning after were able to serve us food following proper guidelines. Allegedly Sanitizing the place and then filling it with people without masks is just moronic. Btw the Thai we got to go was a lump of bland noodles with what appeared to be beans. Who puts beans in Thai ? Needless to say we would not recommend based on food and customer service. One of the only few places open today past 10PM that served food so we had To go there! Overall, the drinks and food were very affordable and tasty. By 11pm they had run out of both the beef skewers and duck spring rolls which would have been amazing to try. I got the pork skewers instead which had a lot larger portion than I expected! The banh mi was good as well and came with some seasoned fries. Overall, an affordable bar with good Street food for the drunken soul (unsure if I'd come here for a gourmet meal, but it fits perfect in its niche of sports bar with affordable Asian style street food). Excellent Thai & Vietnamese food from a bar! Awesome. Boomys is not quite divey, but close. I really like the ambiance. It took us a while to narrow down our choices (with a little help from Yelpers): drunken noodles with tofu and red curry with chicken. You're asked to gauge your preferred heat level, 1 - 6. We ordered 5 and both entrees were fairly spicy. So I imagine if you like hot and ask for 6 it will be decently fired up. Both entrees hit the spot and portions are generous. Three tasty condiments delivered to the table: a roasted garlic in oil, a spicy red and a brown (hoisin?) sauce. Excellent service - our drinks, food and check were all delivered promptly and with a smile. Boomy's bock - great beer! Street parking only but it doesn't seem to be a problem during the week. We came here on a weekday before 6 PM and had no trouble finding a close spot. Boomys is not loud at all, at least early on when it isn't packed. Music was background only. Highly recommended. Sooo overall their noodle dishes were on par with other places... I'd definitely get their pad see ew again and their pad Thai was so far my favorite... and I'm not a fan of it ever! Let me say their front of house describing pad Thai as a ketchup based dish she wouldn't recommend.... ooof terrible ambassador. The dumplings.... um those were just like deep fried wontons and not worth your money.... otherwise I'd get the noodle dishes again. I was referred to this bar to watch Michigan football because one of the bartenders is a fan. I went for rivalry weekend and (despite the heartbreaking loss) I loved the atmosphere. This is definitely a place to watch your games at. I think I only ordered fries because I was so focused on the game so I can't speak to the food. So it was about 11pm and majority of places closed... that might explain the slight crowd.... but so what? Food should be fresh and clean and not make you sick.. We stopped by for a couple of beer and bar food. The waitress was not helpful and even less polite. Been plenty of beer consumed with even less so... no big deal.. of later concern was that those of us who had the fried calamari were sick. Spare rib people not so much. I could go on to say it might have been the styrofoam plates that the food came served but regardless - it started as stomach churning and cramping followed by commode hugging food poison in about 3 hours. That kind of ruined it for us. Would not recommend. As imagined we were thinking about reporting our experience of this place to the food inspector. Most surprising were the reviews and fake photos of the food. Wow.. it's seems there are plenty of great reviews for bad soggy noodles and the claims of "premier" Thai in a bar setting all served in styrofoam. Still would not recommend even for a "free" drink. Full stars for the food. Great food, fresh and tasty. But here comes the part I didn't like-server did not wear masks or anything or gloves so I can't imagine how the kitchen looks like, also she was way too close and was not following social distancing while we sat in mash's outside. Also quite a lot of waiting time when there were not much people in the restaurant-girl at the bar saw me but decided to ignore.
